"Balise, a cozy corner spot serving up small plates, craft cocktails, and an intimate vibe, will close on Saturday, June 22, after the owners chose not to renew their lease at the Carondelet Street address. The restaurant was co-founded by James Beard award-winning chef Justin Devillier and his wife Mia in 2015." - Clair Lorell

No idea how is it possible for them to get such high ratings. Do people actually here after they got drunk? The gumbo and the dessert was the highlight of the night. The steak was ridiculous. I don’t even consider that to be a steak. It was just thick cut beef slice. I asked for medium rare and it came out to be almost rare. My colleague ordered a Caesar salad and they got several lettuce leaves that weren’t even cut. Are you kidding me?! Everything had a lot of cheese on it for no reason. Maybe the cheese is gonna expire soon, so they add on everything?

Nouveau classic location by NOLA chef Justin Devillier. Great place near the CBD to fill up for happy hour, including specials on sazerac and oysters. My favorite by far was the biscuit and chicken liver mousse. The biscuit is one of the most delicious thing I ever ate, so fluffy and buttery. And schmearing some of the creamy and salty chicken liver mousse on it was perfection.

An awesome, atmospheric locally hangout. The menu is ecclectic and French-Belgian based as is the wine list. I had two offerings the mussels And the flat iron steak. The mussels are pictured and they were amaz! The flat iron steak was good with good beef but nothing special and the fries were similar. Still, I will be back for more mussels and to try additional offerings. The clientele was fun and frivolous and the waitstaff was friendly, efficient, and capable!

Not a bad place. Great service great environment. I gave a 4 because the food in my opinion was not that great. Dessert was great. But as I said that is my opinion. If you don't mind testing out for about $50 for a person. Give it a shot.

Incredible food and service. Had the crab claws, a few cocktails and their burger. Staff was very attentive and, especially having just wandered in hungry after a flight, I was extremely satisfied. I hope to return in the future.

Wasn't open till430. But im glad i waited. Over priced trout but the appetizers were great. Try the green beans and the chilled broccoli. Stay away from the royal roller its soo gross.
