I have visited Bally's casino in Chicago regularly for almost six months. While it's a good casino laid out over three levels, it's not great, but one only needs to know it's temporary. Eventually, the permanent location will open in the River West neighborhood, which, I'm sure, will be amazing! It took about a month for me to learn the layout and to find a few machines that I enjoy playing. I stop in a few times a week, and most of the time, I come out a winner. While this location could be better, it's never too crowded, and the staff is always pleasant. I usually have a good time, and I'm able to walk out the door with a few bucks. I'll reserve final judgment for the new, permanent location whenever that may open.

Google
It was nice Casino, it was my first time to explore this place. Everything is well managed and nice. I saw people using table for some games and bets. It was fun and nice experience. If you like casino I would say it’s the perfect one. It has 3 floors and all are pack and people are having great fun around ☺️ I will definitely recommend this Casino 🎰 ☺️

Google
I mean it’s a casino meant to take your money. That’s it that’s all. Maybe if I had won something I would have more of an opinion. Not a gambler but I like to experience things when visiting cities, it was a block from the hotel… so I came, I saw, spent $25 and left.

I understand it's new & new costs. We were under 2 hours, and paid $60+ to just park! Honestly, they should have either parking vouchers or some valet. Myself, I Dropped over $500 with simple slots! My friend lost even harder! There wasn't any winning I saw but. Other than free WARM tiny water bottles. Who can charge $14 for 1 shot of generic tequila? Or at least offer free lemonade, tea, and soda for your visitors. To think betting at mid levels has paid at least enough to make you want to play! We (2) lost close to $1,500 in under 2 hours on med-large bid slots! Then to be charged $30 for 2 GENERIC SHOTS & leave to pay $60+ in parking. If that's what this casino is about, you're robbing everyone! I'm not from Chicago, I do get, it's crazy expensive. Should I assume Chicago's minimum wage $50/hour? The only way people could leave their house???

Google
Lovely.. table games and slots. Almost wish it would stay after new one opens. Perfect size and location. Only thing we didn’t like was the food and its prices. Crazy expensive. We paid over $60 for 2 clubs with fries that wasn’t that good. We were the only ones eating and now I see why. 18bucks for 6 wings!! I remember WinStar in OK.. cause the food was awesome and affordable. Bad enough you make millions off the table and slots.. you can’t at least have affordable food? Hope the new one is t this jacked up

Lauren Miller

Google
Decent buy in for table games, but slots were crazy expensive, like $10 a pull. Food looked decent, nothing special. Complimentary nonalcoholic drinks if you’re actively gambling. Definitely a plus that it’s nonsmoking.

Went on a Saturday evening, parking lot just east of the Casino (across the street) parking is pricey, however a friend had enough Casino points to land us free parking. The Casino has 3 floors and a bar on first and second floor restaurants on the third floor, we didn't order any food.My friend had a Tequila Sunrise at $14. Water and soft drinks are complimentary if you're gambling. I played $20 bucks on slots and won $700 played some of that back cashed out at $497 all in all it was a fun evening, the vibe was laid back and chill will definitely return.

We were walking by and decided to go inside, only put $10 to the machine. Just a few hit after I got $150. Unfortunately we had to leave right away to catch a reservation. But I am happy that I made $140 in minutes lol

Yelp
I brought my family here who were in town and wanted to do something in the city without being out in the rainy weather. The bathrooms were extremely clean--at least the women's bathroom was; I can't speak for the men's. Clean bathrooms are something I'm always impressed with, especially in busy places like this. It was easy to get right into the experience, which was great. I didn't get to explore the upper level, so I'll definitely be back. One downside is that the complementary drinks offered are only non-alcoholic if you are gaming. Every other casino I've been to provides both complementary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as long as you're actively gaming. This place is conveniently located in the middle of River North with a parking garage right across the street, which is great. Also, if you have a Bally's membership card, they offer complementary parking. It's close to the mall as well as near other eateries. Although it was definitely a hassle getting there since I drove because of traffic.

Yelp
Garbage. We came here for one reason, because the casino was located in the old, historic Medinah Temple building. The positive portion of my review starts and abruptly ends with visiting a culturally historic building. Bally's has managed to hire on some real trash to run this casino, with particular attention to their craps table. The table boss here was nice, but the stick and chip handlers were awful. An older lady came to the table who was obviously learning the game. We were the only other people at the table, and trying to help her, as we know the game inside and out. The stick and chip women were abruptly rude to her, and constantly muttered insults under their breathe. The table manager should have dealt with the situation but let it go. I can only hope this trash is not afforded a job at the new casino when it opens. Treat your customers with respect!!!

Yelp
I have been to many casinos in different states and countries. This one was probably the worst that I can recall. The first time we visited during our trip to Chicago was after my birthday dinner, that was conveniently across the street. Our ID's were checked immediately upon entering. At least I received a happy birthday wish from the bouncer lol. There were also metal detectors. Holy shit! I guess better safe than sorry!?!? We then went to the bar and ordered drinks. Holy crap those were expensive! We decided to walk around and browse before sitting to gamble impulsively. There were several floors and we went through 2 before we sat down at a slot machine. We didn't bring much money with us but we also didn't expect to lose it so quick. OMG!! We decided on a revenge visit a couple days later and the same thing! What struck me was there was no excitement in the air. No one was loud or yelling with joy because they were winning. A fun thing I like to see at casinos are the regulars bumping into each and chit chatting. None of that here. Damn, people were not even hitting the machines! We only made it those 2 times and when we do visit Chicago again, I doubt we will visit again. It was clean though ‍

Yelp
Total and absolute waste of time. They advertise free parking for Rewards members - but what they don't mention is that you have to spend rewards points to get the free parking. My wife and I learned this the hard way after going up to the 11th floor of the garage to where the free parking was, and holding up the line because my card wouldn't scan. Made everyone back up and we went down a few floors to park for the normal rate. Strike One. We walk across to the casino and it's in this beautiful old building that used to be an auditorium of some kind - pretty cool. It was very clean and had a bunch of bars and restaurants inside. It was a Thursday night and pretty crowded. They had crowds of people waiting for 15-25$ Blackjack tables and the single open $25 Craps table. They even had one Blackjack table where a guy was playing two hands with easily 3-5 people waiting to play. This is in addition to multiple tables with folks taking up seats and not gambling. Whatever. Usually in Vegas, they'll open up tables if they have too many people waiting. Makes sense right? Apparently not. Bally's didn't care to open enough tables for everyone wanting to play (strike two), and you definitely saw your usual trashy people taking up space in the casino as it was a cool, free, dry place in the city (strike three). I wouldn't waste your time to be honest. If you want to gamble, go to Indiana or to Rivers in Des Plaines. Or to the real gambling capital, Las Vegas. I always have a good time in Vegas. Maybe it'll be different when they open their permanent location off Chicago ave/the old Tribune Printing Building, but for now, it sucks..

Yelp
If you're desperate for a Chicago casino experience but don't expect much. It's very watered down and nothing like you would expect in a major city

Mirella K.

Yelp
You definitely have to be a gambler and know what you're doing to win or even play at Bally's. This casino has 3 floors of games, with two of the floors having a bar you can get drinks at. The bartender on the first floor we had (Vinny) was truly awesome. The drinks here are also very expensive for plastic cup drinks, like most casinos. The place overall was busy, kind of cramped, and not the cleanest. For it being relatively new, it seems kind of worn down and outdated. It's very old-school classic casino. We were here in the middle of the day after brunch on a Saturday and it was busier than we thought it would be. This casino definitely brings in an interesting crowd, too. I don't think I'd return, but it was an interesting experience.

Yelp
I have been to hundreds of casinos all over the U.S this one is by far the worst casino ever, Terrible customer service. Cage lines super long. Priority lines for high rollers are a joke because employees call up whoever they want. Food sucks. Go to Rivers or Hard Rock where they treat customers wayyy better.

Sheila C.

Yelp
Interesting concept, put a gambling casino in a Masonic temple. Can you think of a better oxymoron? The facility is lovely and the guests seemed to be having a good time. My complaint is with the security. I have seen this facility at several different phases of its service to River North so I only wanted to see the facility, not gamble, drink or eat. Since I was in the area I decided to stop in. I walked in with a large back pack over my shoulder (I had been shopping at the KristKindle Mart) . I did not pass through a metal detector. A young man asked to see my bag. I opened the 1st zipper area, he glanced in and said, "fine". I hadn't even gotten to the other 3 zipper areas. Not that I had anything dangerous in there, but I could have. Moral of the story, if you go into Chicago, be careful, but that is not new news.

Carol W.

Yelp
Tight slots. Expensive blackjack if you can even get a seat. No fun. Don't waste your time.

Tia S.

Yelp
It was so exciting and refreshing when I found out a casino opened downtown. It was about a week old when I visited. Security is a lot. There is a metal detector, ID scan, bag check. There are 3 floors with tables on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The slot machines were all of the newer animated ones that do a lot of song and dance for no reason. The tables..interesting. One dealer told us that some of them transferred from other casinos while others were BRAND new and went through training. Boy did it show. I went several times over the course of 3 days and saw dealers fumbling with cards, not knowing how to count chips and not knowing basic gambling jargon (color up). We even had a cashier not give us the right amount of money. I understand this is a temporary location, but it should not feel this sloppy. I hope they get it together because it's a wonderful amenity in a central location.

Yelp
ZERO stars!!! the staff is rude and the machines are tight. Parking is confusing and the did not match our home casino player status. Overall disappointing experienc and I will not be back.

Jessica A.

Yelp
Brand new! It's clean, smoke free and spacious. The food service has not started yet. So, when that comes, I shall come back for an update. There is a cafe on the first floor that is open - it has pastries, coffee, sandwiches. On the third floor, there will be two restaurants. One is a Vietnamese restaurant and the other is a different cuisine type. The dealers are nice but still getting into the rhythm. The servers are nice. Soft drinks are free. There's a big bar on the second floor. Right now; there's a $10 free slots credit + reusable Bally's bag deal. So drop by and check it out.

Yelp
I recently had a disappointing experience at Bally's Casino with a server named Alesia that left me utterly disgusted. While I was playing a hand of blackjack, Alesia approached to take my order and informed me the total was $25. I gave her the $25, but instead of leaving, she stood there demanding that I pay a tip, insisting she needed to tip the bartender. What bothered me most was her attitude and lack of understanding. Illinois law does not mandate tipping--it's entirely optional. Despite this, Alesia pressured me to tip, which felt completely inappropriate and disrespectful, especially considering I had already been tipping other waitstaff. When I spoke to the floor manager, Jacqueline, she was very pleasant and tried to assist, but unfortunately, Alesia could not be located at that time. Later, when I encountered Alesia and shared how I felt about the situation, she brushed off my concerns with no compassion or apology. This happened while I was sitting with the bartender Carlos on the third floor. It made me feel as though I was being profiled or treated unfairly, which is unacceptable in any customer service setting. The entire experience left a sour taste, and I hope Bally's management takes this feedback seriously to prevent future incidents like this.

Yelp
Bally's Casino in Chicago presents a modern and inviting atmosphere, boasting a clean and well-kept environment that is visually appealing. Upon entering, the array of new slot machines is impressive, offering a wide selection of games to choose from. However, my experience was overshadowed by the noticeable lack of winners. Despite spending a considerable amount of time playing various slots, it seemed that luck was elusive for many players, myself included. This created a sense of frustration and disappointment, as the excitement of winning was notably absent. Despite this drawback, the casino's layout and amenities are well-designed, with a variety of dining options and a comfortable ambiance. The staff was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive atmosphere of the establishment. However, the issue of limited payouts significantly impacted my overall impression. In conclusion, while Bally's Casino in Chicago offers a pleasant and modern gaming environment, the lack of winnings during my visit was a notable downside. I hope that this was an isolated occurrence, as the potential for an enjoyable gaming experience is present. With improvements in payouts, Bally's has the potential to be a top destination for gaming enthusiasts.

Yelp
I used to live in Vegas so maybe I'm highly biased... but this Ballys sucks. No vibe or personality at all. I understand it's just the temporary location right now, and hope that the permanent location is much better. Very basic casino. Slots, some tables, and places to grab drinks or things to eat. Would recommend if you want to go to a casino check out the others in the surrounding area. Here's to hoping to permanent location is better.

Courtney L.

Yelp
We stopped in the Bally's just to check out the casino. We grabbed a quick drink at the bar on the first floor. The bartender was very skilled. The drinks were great. The casino has 3 floors. The top floor has the restaurants and a few slots. The second floor has all table games with slots. The first floor has all slots. Overall decent casino outside of Vegas.

Ed T.

Yelp
bally's casino Chicago Rips people Off!!! Stay away from this place unless you don't mind a place ripping you off. Then when you try and talk to someone you are bounced from one person to another and each one says DUHHH I don't know. Send emails and either you don't get a reply Or the reply says wrong department. How about telling me the right department what a concept huh? I had over a 1,000 points in my account and when I went to use some of them it said I had 0 points. That's total B. S. Plus the parking garage is so Screwed up you have to insert your card upside down and backwards so you can't have it on a cord. STAY AWAY from this place. Go to Rivers Casino 100 times better!! Ed Chicago

Sue L.

Yelp
Located Downtown, this small casino gives guests a taste of gambling. This is a temporary location, and it is puzzling that the former Medina Temple is associated with gambling. The stained glass is still there. The slot machines are on the first level. On the second and third levels, there are more complex gambling opportunities. Security checks guests to ensure that there are no weapons and guests are age appropriate. I was not impressed with the food, but maybe in the larger permanent location, there will be more options.

David J.

Yelp
Place is growing on me. Full pay Jacks or Better is pretty sick. The atmosphere is improving with crowd

Timothy M.

Yelp
Terrible vibe right when you walk in. Drinks are way overpriced and the games are uninviting. I don't recommend this casino to anyone. What a waste of time.

Anne L.

Yelp
Just go for the novelty of it: the historic building and first casino in Chicago. Beyond that, nothing worth staying for. Drinks are served in plastic cups. Even when gambling you have to pay for drinks, what!? I've never been in a casino that operates that way. The dealers messed up counting chips multiple times. One dealer gave me the plastic chip that holds the chips in place as my payout. He mis- counted so many times we hand to repeatedly call over the person overseeing the tables (won't even call it a pit boss bc there was no oversight and no "boss" involved in what these people did) Also! Shockingly, when we cashed out our chips, the worker in the cage counted the chips wrong (made piles of 5 $25 chips and counted it as $100). Her co worker noticed the error and had to Re count them. That is literally her only job, count chips - and she did it incorrectly. If you gamble, just keep an eye on the cards and chips, these dealers aren't like Vegas. They don't know the book and have questionable math skills. ^above comments solely related to the black Jack tables.

Yelp
I'm not sure if it's because this place just opened but this was by far one of the worst casino experiences I have ever had. I have been to dozens of casinos all over the world and even a few casino openings. I expect better. First off the place looks like a convention center and feels like a fish bowl. It's crowded, the bathrooms were dirty, and the whole place is infiltrated with depressing, dull grey and red decor. It truly is nothing special. I don't recall anything other than drinks being available. No food and no hospitality whatsoever. Everyone's just trying to get you to sign up for a reward card. Moreover, the staff here made me feel stupid, meanwhile they weren't even sure what was going on themselves. You ask them for directions to somewhere and they do not know what they are saying. I felt like I was running around in circles in there trying to figure out what was going on and where I was going. No one could point me to an ATM. There was no direction to anything. Additionally, the way you pay for drinks is confusing. I ordered a beer when I was a couple hundred dollars up. When the lady came back 10 minutes later with my drink she said I needed a $100 chip to purchase a $7 drink? After waiting so long I barley had that amount on the table when she came back. Keep in mind this was nothing fancy, and just a $20 minimum table. They also did not accept any sort of card at the table to pay for drinks. I imagine this place might be going through some growing pains. I'd maybe give this location another try, but not any time soon. I was not impressed.

Cecil L.

Yelp
They have a good array of games. I didn't see many people winning. Casinos are built to win. However the entertainment is playing with their money after making your initial deposit. When giving money away I need playing time!

Patrick J.

Yelp
Great experience. Three levels of slots and game tables. Friendly staff. Management were very on hands and engage with attendees.

Daniel C.

Yelp
Very rude staff. Extremely dirty casino with fingerprints all over the glass doors and machines and empty drinks around the bar. Mandy was the worst host I encountered in my years of gambling. They know they have a captive audience of people who can't get to better casinos in the suburbs or out of state, so the slots are tight, promos are weak, and the customer service is non-existent. Plus, who decides to have the players club at the same cage as the cashier? Long lines and desperate people to wait in them. I had an issue with a promotion that was eventually escalated to Mandy, and I left without gambling a penny. Harrah's and Four Winds earned my visits, and I will never return to Bally's again.

Sam M.

Yelp
Very sad overall. Was excited for a chicago casino, however this place is a complete mess ranging from layout of table games, to promotions, to times they allow people in. No room to walk around tables with pillars in way, feel terrible for the handicap people. Thier promotions are a mess, they send out communications and flyers you win a promotion only to go and get it they tell you sorry. Now they are supposed to be 24/7, just went and they won't let people in saying we are closed for maintenance, while people already inside can stay and play. Where is the logic there? Completely unsatisfied and will gladly take my money to Indiana.

Tara M.

Yelp
I'm not a big gambler but my friend and i went here on a Friday night after going to a birthday party. Parking near by in the garages was convenient. For some reason i was thinking it would be this big luxury looking casino. I was 3 levels but the decor was just plain which i guess was just typical casino decor. The bistro was a little slow with service and I must admit I'm not super picky when it comes to food but the wings was horrible! Not seasoned at all ! My friend had the fish taco and he said it was ok. I didn't try them since i don't eat tilapia. Not my cup of tea! If you like to gamble i guess it's a close convenient place to go

J N.

Yelp
Nothing bad to say about the casino ... but the PEOPLE who work there are horrible. I've never been treated with such disrespect than by the people who were working the ID check. My friends and I all got in and enjoyed the casino, but the people who checked our ID's were rude. Also, they did not let our friend in who came later because she had a piece of tape on her ID. Her ID was in perfect condition minus the piece of tape , which she took off in front of the workers, and they still turned her away. The lady was so rude.

Eric D.

Yelp
It's a small casino trying to make the most of a temporary situation. Two things are working very well for it: a beautiful building and a downtown location that can't be beat. It's not a wonderland of slots, but it's got all the most common/popular ones. My biggest issue is the second floor. As soon as you go up there you'll find so much unused table game real estate as management seems to be opting to create crowds huddled on one half of the floor--the section that has big pillars obstructing movement--than spreading players out comfortably. A specific example is the fact that they have four craps tables yet only one of them is active in a given afternoon. So assuming you can muscle in to find a space, you're going to be crammed in which a bunch of belligerent players fighting with or trying to get one over on the dealers and maybe--MAYBE--you'll get to shoot once before they raise the minimum of the (and I can't stress this enough) one active table on the floor. Maybe this location needs to hire and train more dealers. Maybe it needs to get right with the fact that more elbow room is more attractive to players than packed crowds, but this casino is squandering its opportunity to become an attractive alternative to the established suburban casinos. River North is a fantastic place to attract gamblers who don't have a car or don't want to be bothered with a long commute to one of the big boys. But the inconvenience of a suburban day trip is better than fighting for space at a table that raised its minimums too early in the day anyway ($25 at 2PM? What are we doing?!).

Victoria O.

Yelp
I was here for the first time June13th 2024 around 1pm with an out of town friend. We had a wonderful time! My friend played craps for the first time and the dice crew was very entertaining! Jeremy and Anthony certainly made our day. Jeremy is especially funny and we enjoyed our time playing the game. As a business owner it is very diificult to find good employees. Jeremy and Anthony are the best!

Yelp
Upon arriving my drivers license was confiscated by Thurman their supervisor with no explanation. After I asked what the issue was he said my license was fake and simply did a little bendy test with it. I asked him to prove it and he said he didn't have too. He told me he was keeping it and to have a good day. My license was in fact NOT fake and his employee proved it with a light test. When confronted he scream "I'M THEIR BOSS THEY DO WHAT I SAY" as he stormed off. The employees stated that he was gonna get another manager to take a look at it. The employees would not say if my license was real but simply kept stating "he's my boss, I do what he says". Their security manager Jonathan approved my license and stated it was real. I demanded a apology from Thurman and he hesitated and angrily apologize. Overall I was ready to spend money on drinks and at the slots but Thurmans attitude and way of handling the situation was poor and immature. I didn't end up spending money because of this poor treatment. Thurman you should really take a HR class and learn to speak to your employees and customer's.

Yelp
This is a brand new casino. There are parts of it that I really like because of that, and like everywhere else, there are areas that need work. I play the table games, so slot play doesn't interest me. Some things I enjoy about it is that the place is clean, doesn't smell of smoke, and significantly quieter than most casinos. I felt safe inside and out of the casino, but as with all new businesses, some staff are more knowledgeable than others. The best part is that they are all trying, not phoning it in, and seem to really care about what they are doing. Some dealers you can tell that English is not their native language so they are quiet rather than mess up. Others are quite chatty which I find fun and part of the experience. I have been several times since September and have enjoyed each time because of the people. There have been incidents at other table and at the slots, but this happens everywhere, whether in Las Vegas, or anywhere else. Several people I suspect were overserved, but I expect that they came in that way rather than totally drinking at the casino. Further this is an urban environment, so there is more than the average about of undesirable people who come to this casino. They come to get warm, use the bathroom, and otherwise just interact with society. The vast majority are well behaved and of no consequence to anything going on. Occasionally some has a mental health episode and they are handled professionally and humanely. As for problems. The Wabash Cafe is useless. The food is awful, overpriced and lacking of any flavor. I have had better sandwiches at 7-11. The staff was pleasant, but they know, and there is nothing they can do about it. Avoid this place at all cost. The Asian kitchen on the third floor was surprising good, compared to the Wabash Cafe. It is also overpriced, but it does have flavor and they serve you at the table. Another problem, and I see this at a lot of other casinos also, is the lack of cocktail servers. It takes forever to get a drink, even when you mention it to the pit boss. I don't understand why it takes so long. The lack of adequate public transportation is also another problem which needs work. The Uber/Lyft drop off point is around the corner from the entrance to the casino. If you are from out of town or if the weather is inclement, this can be very confusing. As with everywhere, there are few taxis than there used to be and no one knows how to get one. They have bus service to Chinatown and Argyle St. There should be some to the Loop hotels, and the local "L" stations. Further, a shelter by the Uber/Lyft pick up point would be very nice also. Overall, I really like this casino. I find it convenient, clean, hospitable, and friendly. Keep up the good work. A sports book would be nice too.

Yelp
I have metal in my head, which means I am not allowed to go through metal detectors. I tried to ask security if I can be wanded due to not being medically able to go through a metal detector. The girl security guard in the picture decides to tell me. "I used to be a paramedic, trusttttt me, you're fine"' then the guy proceeds to tell me either walk through the metal detector or get out. On top of it they choose who and who not to ID(they target darker skin). This place is very discrimitory and not allowing someone to enter an establishment due to a medical disability is beyond me. Highly recommend staying as far away as possible from this place, one of the worst experiences in a long time.

Yelp
Never had a $30 price tag on a drink in my sixty years of living until coming into this place. Yes you read correctly, I said I had a drink, a simple Maker's Mark and ginger ale, that the goofball at the bar mixed for me at $30. I didn't think to ask how much the drink was because I figured out of experience that it would be maybe, seven dollarish? You know, like every other freaking casino in the country? Casinos usually keep the drink prices low or reasonable because the more you drink, the more you gamble. I stopped at one drink. These idiots think someone is going to make them rich by buying booze instead of gambling? Then we come to the even more corrupt part. The slot machines are so freaking complicated and set up for in your face deceit. The "penny" bet machines are set up to only work if the bet is fifty pennies per bet LMAO! The "quarter" bet machines only work if the bet is at least FOUR quarters. The "dollar" bet machines only work if the bet is five dollars or more, you get it? Straight in your face corruption. The place is not even fun. Whenever I'm Chicago again, this POS "casino" will not be on the list of places to visit.

Yelp
I was in town for work and heard there was a new casino that opened. Now, I don't gamble much but they were giving $25 just for signing up & who am I to say no to free money?! I was there maybe 15-minutes (5 minutes to signup for card to get $25, 5 minutes to find a table to put the bet on, 5 minutes to have lost and walk out). What makes it 2 stars is that it felt like a fake casino. One you see in a low budget film. I saw two people get into a fight with no security around and it seemed like a set-up for people to lose their money or get robbed. I will say that the one thing I was happy about was the food. It was so good, i took it to go and it was greasy asian food which i love. I will never go back here but will focus on remembering the joy of the food as it was the best part of my experience.

Yelp
I am not much of a gambler. So, I may be slightly biased in my review. Yesterday, I visited Bally's Chicago Casino. The inside is very pretty. They don't validate parking unless you have 300 points on your Ballys card. We parked in the lot across the street, on Ohio..................$55.00!!! There are three floors. The 3rd floor is definitely for HIGH ROLLERS! The 2nd floor....meh, tight slots. The temporary location of this casino is definitely for tourists and residents who live or work in the area. The casino has restaurants and food stands, but they weren't open during the day. THERE ARE NO FREE DRINKS. Also, they are still under construction. In conclusion, I can wait 3 years for the permanent Chicago Ballys. Too bad the former mayor didn't act sooner to make this a priority during her leadership. Chicago is missing out on some serious $$$$.

Yelp
I'll start with the "I would give them zero stars if I could". After about 7 or 8 more visits, I can honestly say that the place has gotten much worse. Let's start with the slots. They really don't seem to pay out much at all, so I don't even bother trying anymore. My friends and I usually put $3-400 each into the slots and never win. Craps. Slow players seem to always bog things down with minimum bets while arguing about not getting paid or claiming to have place a bet that they never placed. It just slows things down to a maddening pace at times. The worst is the blackjack tables. No high limit tables. No 'no mid-shoe entry' tables. People constantly reaching in to place one $25 bet while people at the table are betting $100 and up. But the big thing of late is the silly table play coupons that they give out. The last few times there, I am at a full table and elderly Asians reach in to try playing their coupon. Language is clearly an issue as they don't seem to understand that there are no openings at the table. So they try to place their coupons on top of other players bets and are sometimes aggressive about it. Pit bosses just stand there doing nothing. Overall, it's a very frustrating experience every time we've gone. We've gladly decided to make the short drives back into Indiana where things are a lot more professional and have sworn off ever visiting this place or even the permanent site when it's complete.

Yelp
Bally's Chicago is TERRIBLE! Not only do they have $25 minimum bets for table games which is atrocious but they also DENIED me entry (even though I'm a member) because they thought I was 'drunk & stumbling' even though I hadn't had anything to drink beforehand. These people are terrible & Bally's isn't worth your business. Go to Horseshoe, Rivers, or Hard Rock. BALLY'S IS THE WORST CASINO I'VE EVER BEEN TO!

Yelp
Ahh! This used to be Bloomingdale's Home Store, remember that? This is in Medinah Temple, and this is the fifteenth location in the states. This have 800 slot machines & 56 game tables. The drinks are high. This will be here temporary for three years and then move to the old Tribune newspaper space in '26.

Yelp
Clean and fun environment. Most staff friendly. Facility close to parking garage if needed.

Yelp
This place is disgusting very depressing inside there. No action the parking situation is terrible. Nobody knows what's going on inside or outside. The parking garage charged me $40 for 40 minutes. The people inside gave us a slip of paper to said and said go outside and give it to the parking garage for the free parking That did not work. The parking garage said you have to go walk back inside to get them validated and give you another ticket to come outside just very disorganized. Very depressing I would never go back even though I ended up winning about $700 in half an hour I would still never go back.

Yelp
I'm at Ballys in Chicago today. after standing in a long line to get a replacement players card I was told by a female employee that she was only allowed to service people with chips. The male employee that was working that window left and was doing something else. The only other employee was w the line. this mean I would need to get back in and wait for this one employee get to me again Why was this person allowed to help people with chips when there was a long line and only one person working? Why wasn't she trying to give her coworker a hand? Why do Bally allow such behavior? No wonder their ratings are so low. Maybe Ballys don't appreciate the the customers enough to care.

Yelp
I'm going all-in to say this Bally's Casino Chicago blows. I was playing craps and a newer dealer almost cleaned up one of my bets and of course the box person and stick person were in another world. This place is less than a year old and hasn't mastered a technique to make non-gamblers go away. They take up betting positions not gambling at a table and when I once asked a supervisor if a certain person was playing [and if he could make them go away because they were not gambling], the supervisor just said this other position was open. BUT *I* am the customer and I wanted that specific position, not the one that was unoccupied by some loitering game watcher. Then I don't know why this happens but just because I might seem a little more reserved than other players, the stick person 20% of the time just *assumes* I don't want to shoot and they pass me over, which I then need to bring to the box person's attention and then everyone gets confused "why would a player (me) actually want to shoot dice when they're spending lots of money playing craps?" Then on a weekend night this "casino" doesn't staff even one craps game from about 2AM - 10AM. How can you call yourself a real 24-hour casino when you don't even have craps 24 hours?? Then when I was cashing my cheques out, there was a super long line on a weekday afternoon, of course the cashiers here bark at guests and have stern frowns on their faces. Then when I politely instructed the cashier how I wanted my currency, she completely ignored me, I had to repeat myself three times, and finally when she counted the requested bills, she threw the bills on the countertop at me with a smirk. Can you believe that? A casino cashier literally throws a customer's money at them!? I'm afraid Rivers Casino Des Plaines has spoiled me and I admit they seem to have set the standard for Chicago-area gambling because most of these problems don't exist there. This Bally's Casino is not world class. I hope they don't repeat their mistakes and develop a *real* entertaining and hospitable establishment a few blocks West.

Yelp
I have been going to this Casino since it opened ! Two times I was robed! The security doesn't help at all , there are cameras everywhere and yet it's a lot of stilling going on and they do not care ! My husband and I ordered 2 martinis cost us 40 dollars in a very small plastic glass ...pathetic ! Nobody wins only loses and I don't feel secure in this place . The security staff are gather in small groups and when I told them my idems were stolen they looked at me like ...so....what ! People are sitting around and do not use the slots machines and nobody tells them to move so players can use them ! Terrible place !

Yelp
Boring. It feels like a banquet room with tables and slots. No music, no atmosphere. Very depressing place. People who work there seem nice and upbeat, but they hang out on Ohio street and smoke, which is unpleasant to walk by. There should be no smoking anywhere. Including the sidewalks. Maybe some live music would help. Seems like most of the slots are penny and nickel...and they quickly eat up money. No poker tournaments. I must get a mailing every day from them. Giving away small appliances and such, feels so outdated. As a local, was hoping it would be a fun place to go, but it's really dull.

Yelp
This reviews for a visit in October 2023. Being originally from Chicago and returning for a visit I was pleasantly surprised that the casino finally had been built and opened. I stopped in after dinner kind of early. I think it must've been around six or 7 PM. There was no line at the entrance. As you enter, you go through a brief security check. They are helpful and directing you to the areas of the casino that you're interested in. I opted to play video poker. It was a nice smoke-free environment. The machines appeared clean. I did not have any beverages or food while I was there. My only concern is that being a city casino, you risk walking out and perhaps getting mugged as you would any business. I don't wanna sound like a clown, but I did have some cash on me that I could not deposit at the bank which was a few blocks away which I did. There are Chicago police out front but I always say, be aware when you are leaving. There isn't necessarily security and a parking lot to escort you like traditional casinos. I did not park. I'm not sure where Parking would be. Probably a city lot nearby. I think I left around 8:30 PM and there was a small line out front. I would definitely return and recommend to others if you're looking for a little change of pace in the city.

Yelp
Hey normally don't care about the reviews. But today was my first day visiting Balleys. I normally go to Rivers or Horseshoe. I was back in the city and said. Fuck it, let's see how it is. Just overall just felt like a shifty vibe. Raising the the buy in on roulette when 8 red hit.. kinda passed me off. Like seriously just a bad first experience. Hot others had better than me.

Yelp
I spent just a weekend in Chicago with my boyfriend earlier this month, and our hotel was across the street from this recently opened casino, which we learned is only here temporarily. We stopped by Friday night/ Saturday morning upon arrival to town, about 2:30 a.m., but they'd already stopped serving drinks. I returned later that morning while my bf got in a little extra sleep and found professional security screening at the entrance, friendly dealers at the tables, a helpful associate at the rewards center, and great incentive for a new player's club card. Enjoying the service and slot game selection between their 3 floors, I ended up staying a couple of hours. Ashlynn at the Center Bar by the entrance was attentive and efficient, and I enjoyed conversation with her when I returned a final time that night. Clean bathrooms and facility and decent payouts on the slots I played. I'd def return!

Yelp
Bally's took an expensive space and made it look oh so cheap. The old Medinah temple space now has the ambiance of a downmarket mall food court, and this place is buzzy in all the wrong ways. Smoking is not allowed, but the place smells like smoke anyway. The table games look like penny slots, the slot machines are hard on the eyes, and every customer looked a little nuts. Nothing sophisticated here, just a Gary casino that found itself on the wrong side of Lake Michigan. The bathrooms were clean!
