Balong is a scenic spot with potential, but a recent visit highlights several areas for improvement. The beautiful lakeside setting and views of the surrounding hills are impressive, offering beautiful view & a peaceful atmosphere. However, the venue seems to struggle with managing crowds.
Safety is a significant concern. The high areas and stairs lack railings, posing a risk, especially for the numerous small children present. This is a critical issue that needs immediate attention.
On-site facilities are insufficient for the number of visitors. There are not enough toilets to accommodate the crowds. Expanding these to at least 3-5 stalls per gender would greatly improve the visitor experience.
Operational management could be better. The space is too crowded. Seating and parking areas should be expanded, and new attractions should be introduced to better distribute visitors. The narrow access road and high volume of traffic suggest a need for dedicated traffic management, perhaps with assistance from local residents. The area in front is also full with touting sellers, which detracts from the overall appeal. Relocating these people to designated kiosks would create a more organized and welcoming entrance.
While the location has natural beauty, addressing these logistical and safety issues is essential for a truly positive visitor experience.
