"Give your dialing finger a rest and pay a visit to the drive-thru window at Bambolino’s. At this Montrose haunt, choose from traditional pizzas like meat lovers, margarita, and Greek. Order by the slice, or buy a full pie, and finish with a slice of cheesecake or tiramisu." - Brittany Britto Garley, Megha McSwain

Google
One of the best pizzas I've ever had. Perfect in every way. We got a large vegetarian. Soooooo good!!

Google
Still the best pizza in Houston. Fresh ingredients. Family run business with a homey small town feel in the big city. We have been coming here 8 years. Today we went to Menil museum, Rothko Chapel and then here for lunch, they're all within 3 minutes of each other. Dine in for a cozy experience, you can even watch the game while you eat. "Stop and smell the flowers" Dont miss the pink roses outside, they smell so beautiful.🌹Inside and outside seating are both very nice.

Google
My girlfriend and i came here for the first time today. The salad was bland, the ravioli she got didn’t taste fresh. She got food poisoning from her meal. I asked for one slice and he gave me two instead? The pizza tasted like the frozen pizza you would get at the grocery store. It was disappointing seeing the reviews, both my girlfriend and i were not satisfied. Instead of a full refund, he gave me a partial and was extremely rude about it. I was so nice and really didn’t want to be a bother but almost $30 for horrible food/service is crazy. Don’t eat here. Seriously

Google
Great place for good pizza. I wouldn't say it's amazing but it was good. I do love the interior of the place though. Feels very welcoming. Plenty of parking when I went. Drive thru available as well. Both indoor and outdoor seating.

Google
I'm in love with this place, it has become one of my favorite lunch spots since I randomly tried the place out. I've been having a po'boy sandwich and the bread is made in house. Perfectly soft inside and a nice crunch on the outside. I've tried a few and all have been great. I haven't partaken yet but they offer beers for a few bucks which would be a really nice bonus with a delicious sandwich or their pizza, which I'm sure will be great as well when I try it next time!

Google
Best pizza crust I've had in a LONG time. And the cheese sticks were AMAZING!! Definitely coming back. Probably my new go to pizza place. Prices are super reasonable too.

Google
I was in the neighborhood and I wanted to try something that I’ve never experienced. This place has that mom and pop feel of places I used to eat at when I was a kid in Chicago. The pizza isn’t Chicago style though but I thoroughly enjoyed the cracker crust. I ordered fried mushrooms and a slice of veggie pizza. They have Topo Chico too! It was comfortable to sit by myself and enjoy a late lunch. Try it. I’m glad I did.

Google
Expecting Italian style pizza. but I got little bit disappointed. We had cheese and pepperoni pizzas. Doughs and cheeses are not that tasty. Pepperoni is too salty. can’t find any uniqueness of this local pizzas

Yelp
Great vibes and the pizza is better than most others! Dined in this time but nice to know they have a drive through! Bonus start bc I loved that they had big brother on the TV!

Yelp
I walked in on a Saturday afternoon and it was COMPLETELY empty this is red flag number one. The gentleman working the register wasn't rude but he wasn't pleasant either, just kind of "there". I order a cheese slice and a beer and take a seat. The restaurant is small and a little too warm. There's baseball on the screen so it's not too bad. When this dude brought me the slice I was immediately underwhelmed. It didn't have the visual appeal of good pizza. The size of the slice ALONE was a let down, add that it was 4 bucks and we are deep in the red. To top it all off the slice tasted like that schoolhouse pizza. The rectangle one. The crust wasn't thick nor thin. The sauce was bad and Not well seasoned. The cheese is what really takes me back to the middle school lunchroom. I really don't know how this spot is surviving in Montrose. I won't be back, and I wouldn't recommend spending anyone's money here.

Yelp
I was walking through the town and smelled something amazing. I saw a place with no lights on, no line in the drive thru, and you couldn't even tell there were people inside. But this smell was so tantalizing I could not just keep walking past. I found the name and looked the place up on maps. On the restaurant info it said the place was closed, and it looked closed, but I called anyway and a man answered and that was all I needed, just to know someone was inside. I turned back and went towards the smell. Once inside it was dark, but I love dark spaces, the darkness is often my friend, and I found love inside of this dark place. I ordered the meat lover breakfast taco and in one bite my taste buds came alive. It makes me want to buy a house in the neighborhood. This is one of those family owned shops where you want to go there enough to become part of the family. Good food, good vibe, lovely atmosphere. Check them out and tell them I sent you.

Enna J.

Yelp
Good pizza great service. The crust is thick and buttery and they're heavy on the sauce.

Krista R.

Yelp
We spent a few hours in Montrose and looking at the "vintage" shops. Was hungry, but didn't want much so we came here. A lot of complaints about customer service and being rude, but has anyone ever encountered happy people at a pizza place?? I got 2 slices of pizza. I really liked the pizza. I don't like a lot of sauce on the pizza while my husband does. Mine had the perfect amount of sauce on it without overdoing it. Husband wished it was saucier, but I liked it for a quick bite.

Mehdi A.

Yelp
Drive thru + Pizza = coming bavk. Cheese slice for like $4 wasn't tht pricey it was satisfying.

amanda l.

Yelp
Honestly been going here for more than 10+ years if that doesn't say enough than idk what will . Y'all need to try at least one ! Get a lemonade you won't regret it !

Kelly K.

Yelp
This is absolutely my favorite new pizza spot. I usually get the pepperoni. The sauce is so flavorful. I usually am one to need toppings, ranch, pepper flakes, hot sauce on my pizza but I can just eat this one as is. The crust is super flaky and and airy as well.

Joaquin C.

Yelp
This wonderful pizzeria has been my family's go-to spot for years and it has never lets us down. It always hits the spot after church on a Sunday morning. Would highly recommend, especially towards the night, good scenery. The food is good, the supreme pizza is my favorite. The owner is a really nice fellow as well.

Ashley A.

Yelp
I've been coming here for 4 years this year! And every time its PERFECT! So fresh and flavorful! My favorite is a #2 with a frozen lemonade! I tried the cookies for the first time and they were to die for! Everything is good from here! I bring new people here every chance I get. Bambolinos is a true Houston Gem!

Gene L.

Yelp
Not sure why this place doesn't get more love! This place makes a pretty fine pie. I live in Brooklyn, arguably the pizza capital of the US, so I've eaten my fair share of great pizza. Bambolino's is really interesting - I agree with Farrah A - it's not a NYC style pizza or thin crust...and it's not really deep dish either; although the buttery/oily crispy bottom and thicker-than-most dough is reminiscent of Detroit style pizza, but then again, Bambolino's is not cooked in a pan - it really is its own style of pizza and it's damn delicious. As Yelper Rosy A mentioned, the supreme/all-the-way is where it's at. They definitely do not skimp on the ingredients - it's chock full of goodies/meats/veggies (check out the pic!). Prices are super reasonable for the amount of food you get too. The place is charming/old school. There's some tables indoor with a television that usually has some local sports on, and then a nice outdoor space with picnic tables that's covered which is a great place to hang out when the weather is nicer. Beer is super cheap too! My brother and sister-in-law rave about the frozen lemonade, although I haven't tried it just yet. The guys who work here are super chill as well. From the reviews it looks like they make some great breakfast tacos as well, so will have to check them out in the mornings in the future. Anyhow, if you're craving some pizza, definitely give Bambolino's a shot!

Katrina P.

Yelp
We were looking for something simple after a doctors appointment in the area.. we saw this place and stopped. We ordered the bruschetta appetizer which was pretty good. We also had the Italian sub and a supreme pizza. I'm sure lots of people choose the order to go or delivery option. All in all the food was great m!! I am only giving 4 stars because they had to TVs on different channels and they were both extremely loud in the small place! Not a young and the restless fan

Sean S.

Yelp
Hole in the wall vibe, which I like, though the food was less than stellar. Spaghetti with meat sauce was spaghetti tossed with pizza sauce and cheap pizza sausage. Chef Boyardee makes better pasta in a can. The pizza was just slightly better than Chuck E. Cheese. Definitely won't return.

Brittany A.

Yelp
Owner told me to move my car because I tried to buy a pizza slice to-go before stopping at the piercing shop next door to buy something quickly, he proceeded to tell me "shut the f*ck up b*tch" and kept harassing me and followed me to my car to cuss me out. Extremely disgusting and this is why their lobby is completely empty. Unprofessional cheapskates with a horrible attitude. TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE !!!

Sabrina S.

Yelp
Delicious food! The pasta was the best, we tried the lasagna, and Alfredo. Both good options, the pizza was only okay. Still at good option for a cheap lunch!

Sarah D.

Yelp
If you're looking for a cheap good old fashioned lasagna, here's your place. Honestly I knew walking in it was either going to be a bomb meal or absolute trash, with it being such a hole in the wall place, and it was the former. So good. The garlic bread is so buttery and crispy too. Would def come back.

Kourtney H.

Yelp
If you're drunk you might be impressed by the hodgepodge that is this restaurant but sober and on a week night i was not impressed. The menu is so chaotic and discombulated, how can any one dish be made well? The pizza was mediocre at best. The table we sat at was dirty and the man who took our order was rather curt.

Micha-Jordan S.

Yelp
We stopped there to have a quick lunch one afternoon. Upon entering the building we noticed it was a quaint spot and was not heavily trafficked. In all honesty, it looked a bit shady but still interesting. Very similar to a small diner and the customer service was relatively fast. The food was the quality of a football stadium, not bad but definitely not interesting. We would most likely not return to this spot, but if you're in the area and are hungry during lunch time, it's an average place that you can go to and also affordable.

Yuri E.

Yelp
We were so excited to introduce this to our kids. Sadly we were disappointed. Yikes! Definitely not what it used be. I remember as a kid this was the place for pizza. We sat down in the front corner booth and we see a large cockroach running on the wall. We get if! It may have come in from the outside but it soured the vibe quickly. Their spaghetti and fettuccine was oily and the meatballs were not good. The pizza tasted like a Chucky cheese pizza.

Bryce I.

Yelp
Horrible customer service ! This is the first and the last time that I will be going here not because of the food quality but because of the customer service. I called in a phone order no less than 30 minutes ago. I order spaghetti with the side platter basket order that contains fried mushrooms, mozzarella sticks , and some third side that's not coming to mind at the moment. I have a mushroom allergy and asked the guy over the phone if he could sub mushrooms for mozzarella sticks. He cut me off with a sharp and rude tone by over charging me for the sub. I reluctantly agreed after being turned off by the his very rude tone. Once I got there I verified of the mushrooms were replaced and he said "No" and reached for my card. Wait a minute, No? Then if that's the case I don't want the side order just give me the pasta. He then told me if you take this off then I can't take your call in order no more.. So let me get this straight, you establishment is suppose to take call in orders right? He told me Yes. So you won't be taking my call in order from here in out because I don't want my side order because of a food allergy? Yes. THE UPMOST RUDEST AND UN CUSTOMER SERVICE FRIENDLY RESTAURANT I have EVER witness. Not sure if it was a race thing or a. personality thing but this is unacceptable and I refuse to be treated in such manner. I didn't even buy my food over how disrespected I felt. I would not recommend this place AT ALL!!!!

Liza A.

Yelp
By far the very best pizza in Houston Delicious crust wonderful ingredients good service fresh fresh fresh and delicious

Emily C.

Yelp
Me and my friend were stopping by the piercing shop next door & parked at this location hoping to get a pizza afterwards. As we left the piercing parlor, an older man (the owner) opened the door for us and basically FOLLOWED us back into his restaurant. And proceeded to yell at my friend and me, as well as say "f*ing dumb*ss " just for parking crooked which didn't affect his drive thru at all. No wonder you don't have any customers. Wouldn't recommend.

Liliya H.

Yelp
This is the worst pizza place on the planet. A disgrace to pizza. This place should not exist on Montrose! I walked in to get a slice and their cashier guy was asleep at the register. Dude looked like it was his 5th double shift or something. I'm a pretty nice person so I just gently asked for a slice of cheese pizza. This man was so weird and creepy, and I couldn't figure out if he was just really drunk or really tired. ( this was at 11am on Thursday btw ) The pizza tasted exactly like the nasty pizza they used to serve in my high school. It had a distinctive taste of tomato pasta from a jar, spread over spongy pre-made pizza crust. Just so GROSS. It actually made me sad to think that someone makes pizza so bad and also charges money for it.

Valerie M.

Yelp
I love how there is a drive thru and how quickly it was to satisfy my pizza craving! And mask/safety guidelines were followed. Will be coming back for more drive thru Italian food and drinks!

Vanessa E.

Yelp
I was looking to eat a nice slice of pizza and I chose the right place. The older guy at the register was super sweet and accommodating. The place is cozy and the patio is roomy and also gated. The food tasted fresh. Please visit you won't regret it

Diego C.

Yelp
Definitely dijornos. Also 4 dollars is a lot of for a slice of pizza, especially a bad one

Douglas G.

Yelp
This place is pretty old school, something you'd find in the 90's or 80's even. They have a fairly large menu with just about every kind of pasta and pizza. I have no idea how they cook it all as the person who took our order at the counter was also the cook and waiter. Besides the menu, they have specials or "combos" taped up all over the wall above the front counter that even carry on to a board that sits off to the right. We each got a combo that comes with a slice of pizza (really two smaller slices), a side salad, garlic bread and a soda. I think they were $10 each. The pizza and garlic bread was good. The salad was a bit strange, tons of carrot shreds over iceburg and red cabbage with a few tomatoes. It wasn't bad, but could be improved with cheese and more then one tiny tub of salad dressing. If you are in the area around lunch stop in and grab some.

Meagan Lee G.

Yelp
My absolute all time FAVORITE pizza place in Houston! Thank u Bambolino's for being so delicious and not letting me down every time I come here

Mia N.

Yelp
This is a divey neighborhood pizza joint that I think has been around forever. Their pizza is probably good, but unfortunately I can't eat dairy. So I had to get a salad, which as you can probably imagine wasn't that great. Just the typical iceberg lettuce with some sprinkling of toppings. I tried the side of meatballs, nothing amazing or that delicious, but they weren't bad.

Ashlei C.

Yelp
I really like this spot! I had the number 6..which comes with 2 slices of pizza, salad and a drink for 11.. the bread that came with the salad was DELICIOUS!!!!

Miranda P.

Yelp
Literally my favorite casual pizza in Houston. Their Hawaiian is to die for, and my parents and siblings all get different toppings than I do and they all rave about it also! We will go out of our way to eat here, and we hang out in Montrose frequently and pop in here. This is a great place if you've been shopping all day and are famished but still need to leave space for a big dinner, just one slice! They're wonderfully made, with great dough and not overly saucy. The Italian ices are super yummy and not overly sweet, and they have beer which is nice to drink on their patio on a summer morning after antiquing further up Westheimer or watch half a footy match and have a modelo and pizza. Love it. Love love it. It is totally unpretentious.

Leah P.

Yelp
A great place to grab a quick slice of pizza! The patio is dog friendly and very cute!! The pizza is also extremely good, but I wish they gave bigger slices when you are paying over $4 for one. That's really the only downside of this place. Overall I will still eat here and will recommend it to others!!

LaChet H.

Yelp
This place has a drive thru! Super cool. My fiancé and I were looking for something to eat after work last night. He wanted lasagna and I wanted some fettuccine Alfredo (w/o having to pay an exorbitant amount of $$$). This place fitted the bill! We ordered the lasagna & fettuccine w/chicken combo meals, breaded mozzarella sticks and chocolate mousse cake. The combos include a fountain drink, garlic bread, and a salad. Everything was good. My only complaint is they use sausage meatballs (small) in their lasagna instead of ground sausage. Would definitely come back!

Linda E.

Yelp
Pizza by the slice is a great idea! This is what lured us to this establishment. We ordered 3 slices which is really 2 slices that make up 1 huge slice. This is not wood oven pizza and definitely not authentic Italian pizza. It is however good pizza. It is served warm and toasty with fresh ingridients. The crust is thicker than most. I love carbs so this was totally fine by me. The restaurant is very spacious and serves other Italian dishes such as lasagna and fettucine. They serve beer as well which I hear pairs well with pizza. This is also a great date place. You get to sit outside on picnic tables and just really be able to talk. Don't come here expecting the best pizza you ever tasted but definitely good.

Brian T.

Yelp
I have been going to this place for years and I have never once had a bad meal. The staff is always helpful and ready and willing to help with any problems or food recommendations. Definitely try the creamy Italian dressing. It is unique and amazing. I usually get either of these 2 combos: (1) Cheese pizza slice, garlic bread, bottle of water (2) Cheese tortellini, garlic bread, salad, bottle of water Every single time I have eaten there, and I am not joking, it has been good quality food. There has not been one time that the food has been even slightly good. They take pride in their food and it is always top-notch.

Rosy A.

Yelp
After visiting twice, I have to say this is my favorite place for pizza. The supreme ("all the way") comes LOADED- it seriously doesn't skimp on toppings like other fast food pizza chains... or even other "fancy" pizza places. The crust is so soft and crispy, truly the perfect consistency for a pizza, along with a perfect crust-to-toppings ratio! The tomato sauce is so flavorful, the pepperoni slices are thicker than most, and most importantly: the pizza is NOT greasy. I repeat, the pizza is NOT greasy!! Most of the pizzas I have eaten are so greasy and make me feel disgusting after eating! The fact that this pizza is not greasy makes this a winner in my book. I do have to say though, I do not recommend the salads. Granted, the place is small and I haven't seen many people inside, but that may just be because I've only gone before lunchtime. Don't let a lack of a crowd turn you away. At least just go for their frozen lemonade alone, it's SO GOOD!

Veronica J.

Yelp
Ended up ordering a large pizza (large enough to split between 2-4 people) and two appetizers, wings and mozzarella sticks. The best dish would have to be the sticks, had a good amount of bread crumbs on it and didn't skimp out on the cheese. The wings were questionable, there was a tiny wing in there that reminded me of a rodent (LOL) but overall lacked sauce. The pizza had way too much tomato sauce and not enough cheese and the dough was way too thick.

Sydney P.

Yelp
My absolute favorite pizza place in Houston. Prices are reasonable and theres even a drive thru. The mozzarella sticks however are not worth the $9 and are as good as off brand frozen ones from the grocery store.

Wayne M.

Yelp
Not the same place I grew up to 20 years ago. When I was a kid this place had such great hand tossed pizza. Up until yesterday I was looking forward to driving out of my way to enjoying some delicious pizza. But, different owner and different taste. The guy behind the counter wasn't inviting even after trying to chat was him. Pizza was hard and crunchy and sauce had very little to no flavor. Parmesan and red pepper shakers were not available at the tables. Such a shame to the Bambolino name.

Christopher S.

Yelp
Always love coming here. I am not one for trying new things, so when my boyfriend told me about this place i was a little skeptical but I am glad that I gave it a try. We eat here about three times a month. I typically get the fettuccine with chicken and its delicious. I recommend this place for anyone who's looking for a small quiet place with good traditional food.

Faye P.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast tacos at a really reasonable price...who knew?! Get the meat lovers or customize your own. Note: these are not traditional Mexican or Latin tacos...all of the available ingredients/fillings are essentially the same options as pizza toppings, as this is a pizza joint. So, you won't see pico de gallo or guacamole...you'll get to choose from sausage, ham, bell peppers, mushrooms, etc. It's different AND delicious.

Farrah A.

Yelp
I'm a thin crust pizza kinda gal, but something about Bambolino's makes me drool. As one yelper put it, it's not quite thin nor is it deep dish. It's a crispy, buttery crusted bottom pan pizza. Stick with the classic pepperoni, a giant coke - or wine - and maybe a side salad. It's not a fancy salad - pretty much the kind out of the bag. But something about this simple pizza joint keep me coming back. Enjoy.

Allison W.

Yelp
I hate giving places bad reviews but I was just so disappointed in this place. We were craving NY, NJ Boardwalk-style pizza and we had our dog with us so we went to this place bc they had a drive thru. Two slices of pizza was $8, which was more expensive than we expected but would have been okay if the quality was better. The pizza was actually a "double slice" that was two normal slices pushed together, and it was just fast food style pizza - spongy, soggy crust, generic sauce and cheese. It was fine but definitely not what we had hoped for when we saw pizza by the slice, and definitely way more expensive than it should have been. I feel like this place could make a KILLING by making a few small improvements - we'd be here all the time if it were more New York style.

Lauren M.

Yelp
I'm reviewing two things: 1. Supreme pizza slice: this is the best supreme pizza I've had. It's embodies what one thinks of when they order this pizza type. It's seriously loaded in a such a way that each ingredient complements each other. But then again, I'm not a supreme pizza connoisseur or anything, I just like to eat and when I crave supreme and I don't feel like paying papa John's for delivery, this is my go to in montrose. The drive thru is very convenient. Watch out for the steep driveway entrances though...my bumper hates me. 2. All the way breakfast taco and salsa: for $1.99 you can't beat this taco. You either go here or la mexicana or another food truck for a taco so this one is definitely a gem. I crave this but sadly they open at 8am so I can't buy 1 during the week because of work. The bacon they use is thick cut, they are not stingy on the other ingredients. The red onion and mozzarella cheese is a great addition also. The salsa..dont forget it! I'm waiting for 4 of them now as I write this....worth the wait!

Isabella M.

Yelp
I was a bit skeptical when I first walked inside the little place but I absolutely loved the food!!! Hawaiian pizza was great along with the House Specialty which is Fried eggplant, eggs, tomato, garlic with a side of garlic bread The place is also extremely clean!!!

K M.

Yelp
I love this place and I don't care what people say! It's good eats . Prices aren't the cheapest but are comparable to the big chains really if you think about it . It's cheaper to get a whole pizza instead of the individual meals if you have a large family like I do. It's a quiet place too.

Emily S.

Yelp
Came here for a late dinner and got the house special and everything pizza. The house special is an eggplant sort of stir fry but I thought that it was pretty bland and under seasoned. I liked the texture though because I really like to eat eggplants. The pizza was just ok as well. Really nothing particularly stands out at all. Friendly staff!

Sue S.

Yelp
Authentic Italian!! Prices are very reasonable, we spent $16 and got a drink, salad, garlic bread and a pizza slice. All portions are big. The service was good and the location is cool. Close to tat shops. Very laid back atmosphere. Outdoor benches also.

Victoria V.

Yelp
This restaurant feels very much family owned. The servers are very nice and attentive. I had the lasagna and pasta and they were pretty good (not as good as I would have hoped for). I did see others around who ordered pizzas and definitely want to make a second visit!
