When I want to order Chinese food at home, Bamboo Garden is usually my place. You can order online which is a HUGE bonus. I've ordered from them 4 times this way and while they've usually done a good job, this past Valentine's Day they fell horribly flat.
So it's Vday and I don't really feel like dealing with the crowds so the b/f and I opt to order in. Took a little longer than usual, but I figure it's a busy night so it's no biggie. We ordered the Fried (Peking) Ravioli, the Chicken Fingers, Boneless Spare Ribs, Beef Teriyaki & Crab Rangoon combo, Vegetable Lo Mein, and Scallops with Garlic Sauce. We asked for extra duck sauce, as usual. The ravioli were their typical yummy selves, and the lo mein was just fine. The crab rangoon & chicken fingers were AWFUL. The wontons/fried coating was so thick & hard on them you couldn't even get your fork through it without some force and it didn't taste that great. The scallops, of which I found maybe 4, were about the size of a nickel. It was pretty much just spicy vegetables & sauce with a few thrown in so they could call it that. Plus, it was spicy enough (didn't indicate spicy on the menu) that I took about 3 bites (of scallops that I dug out) and put it away because I couldn't eat it. And, they didn't give us the extra duck sauce like we always ask for.
I will try these guys again in the future (at least until Taipei & Tokyo 3 starts delivering!) but I wouldn't recommend them on a holiday unless you want to be disappointed.
