Had dinner here on our way home. The restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived but quite a few more parties arrived shortly after us. You could tell people liked this place and many regulars were in picking up to go orders. The staff called them by name when they walked in. We were given open seating. We took a seat and browsed the menu. The server came over right away and got us some drinks. I ordered a cup of egg flour soup and it was delicious. We opted in to getting dinner combo plates. They were LARGE portions for a great price. Their orange chicken was one of the best I've have had in a while. The fried rice was flavorful but slightly on the salty side. But it was good and I would love yo try more of their offerings.

We came from Yosemite and looking for a nice food to eat. All that we see is american foods until we found this restaurant. The food is really good and worth it. I liked the hot and sour soup and egg flower soup. We ordered Family B for dinner and we only paid $35+ the menu says good for 2 but it is actually good for family of 3-4. We had to take the leftover food home because the serving is a lot. We also liked the cream cheese wontons. The server is also very friendly. My daughter doesn't really like people but she liked the server. We will definitely be back again next time. Thank you

Amazing atmosphere with top tier service. The waiter was super chill and kept the entire table laughing the entire meal. The meal was the best I’ve ever had in Asian cuisine. Literally get any meal and it will be the most authentic and super fresh!! Put this place on the map.

Really authentic food. Super nice server. Highly recommend the Hong Kong Style Chow Fun. Lighter and less salty than regular chow fun—just like we get in HKG!

Incredible Chinese food! We got the off-menu specials and it was absolutely delicious. The waiter is also really friendly and high energy making for a great experience. Will definitely come by every time I’m heading back from Yosemite to the bay!

Authentic Hong Kong style restaurant. We found this place accidentally on our way back from Yosemite NP. The server was very friendly, funny and helpful. The food was very delicious, huge portions and we got a few organic nectarines as a dessert:) Highly recommend this place. Free parking available at the lot.

Very good service and food. This is a review from Chinese. Their Hong Kong Chaw Fan and beef are out of my expectations. What I really like is they are customized almost all of your requests. Will visit again!

Incredible food. This will become our go to stop on every Yosemite trip. We asked for vegan food and they crated an amazing authentic meal. So good.

Mmmmm - this food hit the spot! Stopped by for a latish lunch - our server was so friendly and had a great sense of humor, he made a due note of our vegan order and kept up the lively chatter with us and other customers as we waited for our food to arrive in the cozy dining area. We tried the vegetarian sizzling rice soup with the rice crispies which totally hit the spot on the collllld foggy afternoon. We also enjoyed the other dishes - ma po tofu, vegan fried rice and garlic string beans! What a lovely discovery!! We even asked the server if they could open a branch in our town!!

I ate here for dinner tonight!! I had placed an order and they have always been so accurate with my food, not too too expensive as it is good food so the price is totally worth it!! Will continue to be a loyal customer

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. The customer service was top-tier friendly, attentive, and made me feel right at home. And the food? Absolutely amazing! Every bite was flavorful and fresh. You can tell they put love into every dish. Bamboo Garden is definitely a place I'll be returning to highly recommend!

It's American Chinese menu, not authentic Chinese. Basing it on this fact. Great service. Quick with the food. I'm giving this 5 stars because for American Chinese food, the flavors are great. We are Chinese, and we were coming down from Yosemite. We asked the server what was good and he was super honest saying nothing really "authentically Chinese," so we got garlic string beans, salt and pepper shrimp and Hong Kong Chow fun. I have to say, the string beans and shrimp flavors were on point. Server cautioned us that the shrimps did not come with shells (Chinese like shrimps with shells), but we were ok with that. Seasoning and the crispness were perfect. Would stop here again if we pass by.

The food here is always so great, the cooks do an amazing job. I eat here more than I should admit. I recommend everything as simple as orange chicken lunch combo to the amazing Singapore noodle combo. As well as all the soups are delicious. Service is excellent we love Tommy very much. Absolutely the best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to! I tried the Yangzhou fried rice, stir-fried rice noodles, and organic loofah -- all were amazing. The rice was flavorful and not oily, the noodles had that perfect wok aroma, and the loofah was light and sweet. Super fresh ingredients, friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere. I'll definitely come back again!

I was in Oakdale yesterday and my grandma wanted Chinese. I was nervous because I've had a bad experience in Oakdale before as far as Chinese food. So I found Bamboo Garden and it got decent reviews. So I took a chance. I ordered a veggie fried rice, orange chicken, chicken chow mein, and veggie spring rolls. Business is located where the Kmart used to be next to Mountain Mikes & the Dollar Store. Across from Save-mart. I ordered my food and then did my shopping at the store. I got a call that my food was done shortly so it didn't take too long. I was surprised how close business was to save-mart. The lady who took my order & checked me out was friendly! Business was small but looked clean. The portions were huge!! I had dinner for that night and the next as it was just my grandma & I . Next time I may order less or order a individual meal. Food was actually good. Wasn't greasy & had a decent flavor. Best I've had in Oakdale for sure!!!!!

Service phenomenal! I love that it's distance walking from our house! Better than driving to Panda express! First time visiting, husband ordered take out. Big portions, fresh food! Staff is very welcoming and do their best to accommodate with your requests! Spacious and clean! Highly recommend if in area! Try and share your favorite dish!

Ventured out to try a new restaurant. Worth it! The restaurant is clean, however, the bathroom could use a refresher and a good cleaning. Overall, the place is clean. The service was good, however the waiter hovered over everyone, seemed a bit impatient, but he was nice. The food was delicious. The chow mein and fried rice had plenty of veggies, but, could have had more veggies. We ordered the orange chicken and hot and sour soup, delicious. We will be back.

I love coming to eat at bamboo garden! Best Mongolian beef I have ever tried. I love the egg flower soup as well. I live close by SF so every time I come down to oakdale I always have to get the food! I wish there was one in the Bay Area I would go every weekend! If you're looking for good Chinese food, I would come here!

Me and my family have been going here for quite some time really enjoy. The food has very big portions. The service is normally pretty good and it is very affordable reasonable prices.

To begin with. I'm a transferee from San Francisco. What is SF famous for except the views, bridges etc? It's the FOOD! Bamboo Garden fits the mold I've grown up with. Great service, and better food! If you like spicy and fish! Order Salt and pepper fish. It's not on the menu... get extra Serrano peppers. You can't go wrong! All dishes are delicious, priced right and quickly served! Just wish they could sell beer again.

This is my fav Chinese spot. Food here is always on point, price is perfect, and service is friendly and kind. The overall ambiance is exactly what one would expect. I really love their egg flower soup. It's great on a cold day or along side any meal. They also have really good appetizers. I have tried a few of their entrees. I have no doubt all are good but have personally had garlic chicken, orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, beef and broccoli, and Buddha vegetables. You will not be disappointed. I don't do seafood but my son swears by their honey walnut shrimp! Their pork fried rice and chicken chow mein are also excellent. Staff here are very friendly. Serving size is very generous.

Ordering food online was super super easy. Food was okay but seemed like it really lacked punch. Pork fried rice was not very good but the rest of the stuff I ordered was just slightly below the standard I have. Reasonable sized portions but don't expect it to knock your socks off.

I didn't have very high expectations for the food here since I know they only serve American style Chinese food, and I'm from China. But I have to say, it's pretty tasty for what it is. I love the fried rice and egg flower soup. Service is great too

If I could give negative stars, I would. I ordered lemon chicken and it had greasy red sauce on it. When I asked the older man what it was he said lemon chicken. I said it's red not yellow sauce and it didn't taste like anything. I asked for a refund and told him it was terrible and he said no refunds to take it or leave it. Super rude, I'll definitely never go back. Plus our bill was $50 for one lunch combo, side order of broccoli beef and lemon chicken.

Terrible! Stopped in on my way back from Modesto to Sonora. I ordered the lemon chicken lunch special, which included pork fried rice, chicken chow mein and an egg roll. I was the only customer there, it was brought out to me in 2 minutes, barely warm. The lemon chicken tasted strongly like old cooking oil had been used to fry it, then topped with a nasty gelatin like red/orange substance that was apparently supposed to be sauce. I found one tiny minced piece of chicken in the chow mein and zero pork in the pork fried rice. The eggroll was stuffed with what tasted like cabbage mush. The waitress did briskly walk by my table giggling and said, "everything good?" but was gone before I could answer her. I won't be going back.

Food was great, ordered orange chicken dinner plate and it was very filling. The staffs always right there and food was out very fast. I will be returning a lot.

If I could give them no stars I would. We ordered a typical Chinese dinner combo: Chicken chow mein Pork fried rice Shrimp Garlic chicken Egg roll The only problem with this dinner is THERE WAS NO CHICKEN IN THE CHOW MEIN, THERE WAS NO PORK IN THE PORK FRIED RICE, IF THERE WAS SHRIMP IN THE SHRIMP WE COULD FIND IT, AND THE EGG ROLL WAS FILLED WITH "I DONT KNOW WHAT"??? I called and complained and he started speaking Chinese to me but I told him their food was horrible!!!! It's the worst Chinese food we've ever had!!!! Save your money and go to Panda Express; it's actually better.

This place, sadly, has gone downhill. We have patronized this place for 17 years, and always order honey walnut prawns, orange chicken, crab wontons and garlic green bean chicken. Since COVID and new ownership/staff, we are finished. Taste is different, portions smaller, prices up, quality down and service lacking. Place needs a good cleaning too. Ordered walnut prawns and green beans back in April. Dish came out with a small mound of shrimp. Small shrimp. Not prawns. We looked at the dish and asked what it was and why so small. Response? We ordered the wrong size shrimp and don't have many left! She shrugged her shoulders, chuckled and walked away. I asked if the price the same and she laughed and said, yeahhhh, sorry. Next time bigger! Maybe they'll get it back together but we won't be back until we hear overwhelming reviews.

We have no good Chinese food in Tuolumne County! Absolutely nothing worth eating. No Good sushi. Bamboo Garden is worth the 25 minute drive! Really good Chinese food!

Wow this is such a hole in the wall! Really good quality food and delicious! Favorite was fried calamari, walnut shrimp, the chow mein and fried rice are a must get! Tommy was a great host and love his energy!!

Fast and delicious! Everything tasted so fresh. Server was funny and delivered a high level of customer service. Lunch special was very reasonable and provides enough for two meals.

I've been dining here for years. The food is ok but I will not eat here again. I went in for a to go order and got home to find they automatically added a a 15% tip to my order. They just handed me my food and they think that's an extra 15% of value? I get the pandemic has caused some hardships for small business but that's just ridiculous. Avoid this place.

I have eaten here many times in my way home. It has been dine-in and the food was wonderfull. Fresh veggies, wonderfully seasoned sauces, the meat items were tender and juicy. All indications of fresslly made food. I went to Modesto a few days ago for Dr.appt, i was tired so me friend and i decided to order take out and eat at home. We divided up the selections and my friend took hers home. I tried the chow mein and fried rice that night. Chow Mien soo salty I could not eat it. The rice tasted burnt like it was reheated several times and salty. Today i tried the sweet and sour pork. The pork was tough, some pieces so hard you could have chipped a tooth. Sauce was salty not sweet or sour. I think it was twice fried leftovers. And the Brocolli Beef was not fresh. It was salty, beef was crispy and the brocolli was overcooked and not what i have had there in the past. Not Going back again.

Best chow mein I have ever had in my ENTIRE LIFE! The food's price is scary when you look at it on the menu but they bring you so much food it is worth it! Your meal will last you 2-3 meals after. The waiter was nice, the cooks greeted you politely, and the food was quick and fresh. This place is a must!

I used to go here a lot until we moved. While I was in town last year I got a to-go order and it was "okay". Fast forward to today, I went for lunch. Food did not taste good and wasn't even quite hot enough. Sorry to say, I will probably not be back. Once upon a time I raved about the food. Not so much now.

Great Chinese food in Oakdale. Everytime I eat here I get the honey walnut shrimp and the combo fried rice no veggies. When you mix these two together it is awesome!

I called , asked if they would deliver? They were literally two minutes away. He said yes do you had to order $60 or more. I let them know that I was two minutes away and I was only one person. He said still $60. So I ordered, the food was mediocre. A little bit bland for my taste. They did not deliver utensils and the soda was warm with no ice. I should've just went to fast food. I write this so you know better, if you have another choice then I recommend you use that choice. If you're starving and you have 60 extra dollars for mediocre food then I think this place is for you.

I had eaten here once before and thought it was good. What I was really craving is their Salt and Chili Chicken (AKA salt and pepper everywhere else). This is great dish! Big serving portions.

On this Sunday early evening this poor little place was swamped. I had called in the order and at that time could tell they were busy. 20 minutes they said. One hour later my order for House Chow Mein, Mushu Pork, Buddha Veggies and Braised Spicy Chicken was ready. All were hot and all were flavorful. Our fav was the Mushu Pork, then the Hose Chow Mein. The Buddha vegetables were a little under cooked and very garlic'd as advertised. We would not order the braised spicy chicken again as it is heavily breaded and not spicy. Unless you eat one of the black or red dried peppers:) We will definitely be back. I love supporting our loacl places. They were short staffed on this night and I suppose we can expect that quite a bit no matter where we dine for awhile.

Omg this little gem! We went in their one day, not really knowing if we felt like eating Chinese food, but I heard so many good things about it, so we figured why not?! We got the orange chicken and garlic chicken lunch special. Wow! It was so good. Best chow mein and fried rice I've had in forever. The chicken was nice and crispy and the flavors were amazing!! Service was great and super quick. Loved it and haven't stopped thinking about it since we had it a couple weeks ago. Maybe we'll go back today

Lived in Oakdale for nearly 4 years and still always drove to Modesto for Chinese because it's always hard to convince yourself to try a new spot when you have your "usual" spot. Decided I was too lazy to drive to Modesto this time and ordered from here as it came recommended by my in-laws. Ordered the house Chow mein, house fried rice, orange chicken, kung pao beef (usually order chicken but decided to try a different protein), and broccoli beef (because you just HAVE to try the broccoli beef from every Chinese restaurant to compare lol). All of which were pretty flavorful and the a-la-carte servings were packed with pretty hefty portions. The kung pao beef had lots of vegetables, which I love because the added crunch provides a contrast in texture compared to the meat. I'm usually not a fried rice person, because fried rice usually falls flat in flavor or is far too loose and dry, but not this one. It had nice pieces of proteins and the smokey bbq pork flavor was all the way through making each bite better than the last. I'd definitely be back and it's comforting knowing I don't have to drive out of town anymore when I want Chinese food. (BTW, I suck at taking food pics, not my thing. So I'm sorry if it doesn't appear appetizing, but I promise it was.)

The best Chinese food in town! If you order any of their soups, the small is big enough to share! Very flavorful, and they will happily accommodate any special requests on your order (my personal favorite is their pork chow mein with a side of sizzling rice - sprinkle the rice on top of the chow mein to give it a unique texture and flavor)! The owners/staff are all family and remember their customers.
