Family-run and frequently recommended by locals for crispy egg rolls, sizzling rice soup, and combo fried rice. The broad menu straddles Chinese comfort and a few Vietnamese favorites.

First time at this restaurant and it was delicious. The staff was so wonderful and attentive. The food plates have generous amounts of food. Come and give them a try you won't be disappointed. Everything was amazing.

Surprisingly not what was expected. $100 Tonight the food was bland ,egg rolls and dumplings burnt and tough to eat. Beef and Broccoli was good. Crab ragoons only app that was good to go. Sweet sour chicken dry.Did not recieve even the little things like fortune cookies so simple. Over all not expected like before. The quality of food use to be excellent not sure what has changed. Sorry just wanted to be honest.

I ordered the chicken egg fu young and two egg rolls to-go. When I got home and opened the box, the egg fu young was burnt! The egg rolls were hard and tasteless. I called to tell them about the food and that I took pictures. The woman said they would remake my order, only if I bright the food back because many customers lie about their orders. I was so offended that I didn’t even bother getting my food replaced. I simply went to Dao Authentic Asian Cuisine, and their Egg Fu Young and egg rolls were perfect!

Google
So good! But omg the portion sizes are huge! You can definitely split a plate!! Very friendly, and great food. We are going again. Kid friendly as well.

Google
I got to say we were eating and some crazy folks were here. I feel so sorry for this place the servers and cooks and everyone are so nice and professional. We just left at 830 pm and and our food was perfect and we were not rushed at our server Robert and employee's did super job. Please continue to support our local small businesses.

Google
Terrible management and food is not the same at all. Our order was wrong (we asked for no shellfish) even though I went over the order three times with the waitress. When I received try plate it had shrimp in it. I lost my appetite and they still wanted me to pay the bill entirely even though it was wrong. It took our waitress a long time to come check on us and the when she did she didn’t even refill our drinks. I’ve been coming here for twenty + years and never had I had such an aweful experience with service and the food/recipe is gross. When u asked for the manager, she made up excuses saying nothings changed only ownership! The food looks cheap and old and obviously the communication is poor. This restaurant will be closed or changed ownership due to loss of value, customer service, and quality. Sadly we lost bamboo garden when this owner took over.

I’ve been going here for years now with my family. This place has amazing food and service. I don’t think I can ever have something negative to say about Bamboo Garden:)

Google
We went for lunch and had the combo plate with Hunan Chicken and Sweet and Sour pork. The wife and I split it, it’s a large portion and perfect for the 2 of us. Service was quick and the food delicious. It’s always a pleasure to come here.

Yelp
It was a tough decision to decide what to order but I order the two entree lunch plate. The portions were very generous and to take at least half to go. I ordered the beef and broccoli and the Mushroom Chicken. Both were very good, but we're a bit sweet for my taste. I also ordered brown steam rice, wontons and egg drop soup. I will admit that I did not care for the wontons; there were kind of hard and chewy which made them difficult to eat. The egg drop soup was probably the best I've had in quite a while. The broth was rich and to me had an egg yolk flavor. I could've made a meal on the soup alone! The service was wonderful; everyone was friendly and very attentive. There was very little wait time for our food and it was all as ordered. I had not been here in years but I definitely won't be waiting that long to try it again.

Yelp
Enjoyed their lunch special of two entries for $14.99? To the point, I had both the chicken w/vegetables and shrimp w/vegetables (lists of vegetables) with brown rice. Excellent! Wonderful service as always, hot food that tasted great!

Barron H.

Yelp
Huge portions of freshly cooked food. Robert did an outstanding job as our waiter. Ordered appetizers and two meals and had enough left over for two more meals.

Robert R.

Yelp
Today, 3/22/25, is probably my 3rd time eating at this restaurant in the past two decades and every time it has disappointed. When you can't even cook rice properly, you have no business making Chinese food. Given the many options in Corpus Christi for oriental food, Bamboo Garden doesn't make the cut. Service was slow and the waitress, although certainly a mature adult, was clueless. The fellow clearing tables was so loud as he banged the dishes and moved chairs, we couldn't carry on a conversation. Food is substandard and service is borderline terrible. Do yourself a favor and take your appetite somewhere else.

Yelp
Service was excellent-staff is very friendly. Food, not so good. Egg drop soup was served warm, wonton strips were stale, egg rolls were tough and chewy- couldn't eat the ends. Pepper steak must have had 2 large green peppers chopped on the dish - it was just too much peppers and they were cooked very al dente- almost raw. My wife said the chicken curry was very good! That's why I gave them 2 stars.

Lacey G.

Yelp
Went in to place a takeout order. The hostess that took our order argued with me that the dinner entree did not come with a choice of an egg roll or two wontons and that I'd have to purchase it separately. After getting home and checking what online ordering would have included, it confirmed that we should have received a side. Just overall poor customer service and did not get what we paid for.

Yelp
We entered the restaurant and were immediately greeted and taken to a booth. The waitress came by and took our order. My wife ordered the almond chicken, and I ordered the Kung pao chicken a short time later the waitress brought us our soup. We both had hot and sour soup, and it was delicious. We were hoping our meal would be as good. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We took a couple of bites and looked at each other, and both pushed our plates away. The chicken had a weird vinegary taste, and the rice was mushy. The waitress noticed we barely touched our food and said "you don't like it?" we said no and here response was "I'm sorry, but that's the way they make it here". She never suggested something else or asked if we wanted to speak to the manager. We will not be returning.

Jeff E.

Yelp
Great service. Everybody was friendly. Food was excellent I had the pho soup and the combination lomein. Spend $50 and spin the wheel for prizes!

Tamara I.

Yelp
Went there three weeks in a row sat by myself. The first week was great. The second week they brought out cold egg rolls. I ordered another. They brought out two more cold egg rolls. The chicken wings were bloody. You might ask yourself. Why would I go back again because of the server Lene very sweet very welcoming everyone else shitty . so I tell the manager I guess or the guy that's seating me I don't know. Is it wrong that I asked for fresh egg rolls you would think he would say no ma'am no no that's not what he said. I know they were fresh I was there when they were cooking them. I can't with you Bamboo Garden I won't be back, but I'm sure you don't give a care. I have never felt so unwelcome in my life.

Christopher G.

Yelp
This place sucks all around. They didn't allow me to order lunch only dinner (it was 12:30pm) I was looking for a small portion. I tried ordering a kids meal and was told adults can't eat that. So I said it's for my nephew and was told if I was seen eating it they would charge me a full meal. The service is slow and the place smells like ass. 0 stars!!!!!!

Yuanyuan C.

Yelp
I loved the food, it was fresh and hot. Service was also amazing, I really enjoyed chatting with my waitress. They also provided board games you can play with after you finished your meal. Great place, 100% recommend.

Danny B.

Yelp
I ordered Hunan Beef and it was by far the worst I have ever had. It did not taste the way Hunan Beef taste. They put very little thin slices of beef that tasted like it was spoiled. There was no Broccoli but tons of Bamboo and corn. The dish looked like they just through in a bunch of left overs they had. The fried rice was disgusting also. I just through it in the trash can. I went to try and get a refund but they were like no we need to see the dish itself. I took a picture of it but even that wasnt good enough for a refund. Any restaraunt that cared about there business would normally give a refund and offer another dish for free. This place must be under new ownership because it used to be my go to place for chinese food. I will never return to this place again. My advice is to stay far away from Bamboo Garden it is not the place it used to be.

Alicia E.

Yelp
The food has always been delicious however that was not the case today. I ordered Bun bowl #2 and bit into several pieces of amber colored beads. I have had these bowls in the restaurant as well as several other restaurants in the area and have never run into this issue. A dentist appointment is needed. Be careful when eating this meal. The only way to describe it is that it looks like orange silica gel.

Yelp
Walked in and waited for hostess to seat us, sign did say, "wait to be seated." Many employees saw us waiting and did not seat us. Waited about 8 minutes to be acknowledged and then seated, by the bartender. It was not busy throughout our visit. We were seated and given menus and that was it. Then the waitress came and dropped off crispy noodles for soup. These crispy noodles were so stale, it was difficult to chew. Finally, she came and asked if we were ready but continued to walk. I said yes and she came back. We ordered our drinks and meal. Waitress brought out our soup, hot and sour, it was very delicious. My meal was a combo plate of hunan beef and twice cooked pork, the other dish was a hunan delight. Food was mediocre but better than other places. Restroom is very clean and does not smell. The restaurant itself is also clean.

Yelp
No...no...no! This does not taste like ramen. The broth was very sour that I couldn't eat it. Everything else seemed okay except when the broth was added. I always order from different ramen places and they taste pretty good. This is definitely not a good taste. I felt sick and wanted to order ramen and something for my husband but this soup is just nasty. Sorry Bamboo...I like other dishes but not this one.

James S.

Yelp
Great food. Fast service. I've only ever gotten togo, but never been disappointed. Food is consistently good. Portions sometimes less consistent, but never too bad.

Nplias L.

Yelp
1 star, at least they were honest about the wait, it was a long long wait. Then our food came out at different times...we couldn't eat together, instead we took turns eating.... After about 30 min one main entree came out. Then 15 min later our appetizer arrived, which was two orders of spring rolls. Spring rolls were sour like it had lemon juice in it. 20 mins later another main entree came out. Then 20 mins later our pho came one, they forgot a pho order. 20 mins later the last pho order came out. Most annoying was the waitress coming by every 5 mins asking if we need anything, yes, we would like our food. Then they have the audacity to automatically add gratuity to the bill. Thai curry did not taste authentic, it was more of a gravy than curry.

Patricia S D.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised on my first visit to bamboo Gardens in Corpus Christi. Service was excellent, and the food was very good.

Jenny Y.

Yelp
Waiter forgot to put in our appetizer order. Fried rice was decent. Don't order curry. It's watered down was bland and runny. Used to be really good place to eat but evidently owner has changed and food is not so great anymore. Very disappointed.

Yelp
Haven't been to this Place in years period from what I remember it was great and always very flavourful. Visited the other day and I have to say that the taste and serving sizes are still the same as from what I remember when I was younger. The prices are reasonable from whatever member they have gone up but what in this world has not gone up in price?
google avatar

Yelp
I will never order from this place again. My order included wontons that were so burned I could barely crack them open to eat them and there was a tiny , tiny piece of pork in each. Also I ordered Dan Dan noodles that tasted horrible. The box was so heavy with food but I could barely even get through a tiny bit of the noodles. I had to throw the food out. The only thing that was ok was the sprite smh I spent $30 including delivery for this horrible mess. I even called the restaurant to complain and the manager just tried to fob me off with some lame excuse. Don't waste your time with eating here.
google avatar

Yelp
This is the chicken with mixed vegetables and it is absolutely disgusting. Sorry, but no flavor no sauce just boiled chicken in some steamed tasteless vegetables. I also found it irritating that they packed the duck sauce in the food container. We also ordered the sesame chicken and that was just eh. I do not recommend this place!!

Wesley G.

Yelp
Very good service and Friendly staff plus great food makes this place a great stop if you are in the area

Yelp
The food is so delicious here. I order from here at least once a week. They have a large variety of Asian cuisine to choose from. Every time I get get food from here it's always so fresh and flavorful. MUST TRY

Yelp
I love Bamboo Garden!! The food is delicious and high quality. The service is fast and friendly. The ambiance is beautiful and fun. Everyone is happy and so am I! Thank you.

Yelp
This restaurant has been here quite a while and, with the proliferation of "buffets" all over, you know they should be doing something good. Well, their food is typical Chinese fare, their restaurant ambience is everything you would expect in a Chinese restaurant. So, all things being equal, this place does measure up with other, typical, Chinese restaurants. I had the lunch special of General Tso's Tofu (yeah, I know) with fried rice and an egg roll. I also chose the egg drop soup that comes with the lunch menu. Well, the waitress never wrote any of our orders down so I was curious..... sure, enough, she brought me Won Ton soup and not egg drop. She quickly went back and got me the right one. The rest was delivered as ordered. The egg drop soup, by the way, was excellent. The tofu had a crispy exterior but seemed a bit less "firm" on the inside - like it hadn't been pressed enough to start. The sauce for it though was quite tasty. My one gripe is it was labeled as "spicy" on the menu and this was anything BUT spicy. I asked for some chili oil, but it never arrived by the time I finished what I had (which wasn't that much considering the MOUNTAIN of protein that I'd seen on other plates). The fried rice was as you'd expect. It was good, but, that's it. The broccoli that came with the meal was fresh and still had a bit of crispness. That was good. The egg roll was crispy, tasty, but a little small - more like a fried spring roll. Service was friendly, but had some missteps. Prices are pretty standard as others. So, it's no wonder Bamboo Garden has been around so long - they consistently bring decent food, decent service, at decent prices.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! A must try in my opinion! Easy pick up for to go orders. Combo fried rice did not disappoint.
google avatar

Sonia B.

Yelp
I was hesitant to try this place, because of the recent reviews. I have eaten here years ago & we decided to try again. We were not disappointed today. The food was fresh and delicious. My only complaint, is there could of been more shrimp in my dish.
google avatar

Natalie R.

Yelp
I guess next time I will not get delivery on an order. General Tao chicken, but what happened to all the chicken? Ive tried this place a few times and it's always a hit or miss. Only thing that I've been satisfied with is their bun bowls.
google avatar

Yelp
I love it here, being from Houston where the Asian community is the highest in America. The food here mets with Houston standards. The one and only dish I order (I can't even get it in Houston) is the "Cantonese Pan Fried Pork Noodles" . This dish is amazing! I beg you to try it if you haven't. I had that same dish in New York's Chinatown and it taste the same. Meaning it as good as in New York and it's prepared to its authenticity. Just order it for once, the general Joe's Chicken can wait next time.

Yelp
Several highs and lows at Bamboo Garden during a dinner last weekend. If you have not been there, they have an incredible and varied menu Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese dishes are all well represented. We ordered a little of each. Servings were super generous (be prepared to take home leftovers). Freshly made fare, soups and sauces were flavorful. Service was a bit challenging. Once dinner was ordered, we didn't see our server for quite a while. Additionally, one order was incorrect when it was made it to our table but we didn't send it back. We expected there to be more Vietnamese and Chinese condiments available, even if delivered in packets (covidity) but none were to be found, including the server. Prices are reasonable. Will be back but with different expectations and plate full of patience. (Also, a bit unmentionable but the restrooms needed to be cleaned/addressed)

Yelp
I have been a long time customer at this restaurant and the food has always been good. The last couple of visits I did notice a slight change in the quality of there food. Today I decided that I would never go back there again. The service was ok. The food, well....that was beyond crappy. We ordered the spring rolls which were so hard you could hardly bite into them, and the shrimp was tasteless. I ordered the Happy family and the only thing I could taste was the sauce. Oh yeah, the other taste was the beef which tasted like it should have been thrown away a few days ago. Even the Sprite tasted like water. My companion ordered Kung Pao Beef, which he said tasted nasty. Its been nice knowing you Bamboo Garden, so long.

Ruth W.

Yelp
Ordered food online. Got a confirmation saying it would be ready in 30 minutes. Took almost an hour and a half to get my food. The food was cold and pretty tasteless. Used to be a good place to eat but won't go here again.
google avatar

Hailey C.

Yelp
Absolutely awful experience. I have to say, the appetizers were amazing but when we ordered the orange chicken it was awful. Me and my boyfriend only took one bite. We ordered two so it was a complete waste of money. There was no meat in the orange chicken, it looked like orange chips with sauce thrown over it. We were still in a good mood though, but when we told the waitress it didn't taste good she responded with "sorry sweetie you ordered it, you have to pay." I never said I didn't want to pay for our food, I just told her it didn't work out for us. Very passive aggressive and ruined the whole night. Never coming here again. Just go somewhere else if you want a good dining experience. Paid $60 for food we took one bite of.

Yelp
Best Chinese food. The best. Trust me. Eat here! We always make it a point to eat here when visiting from SA. Service is excellent, whether you dine in or take out. I especially love the hot and sour soup and the egg foo young. Portion sizes are excellent and you can definitely share or save the leftovers for yourself!

Lindsey D.

Yelp
I love this place but yesterday I DoorDashed from here and today I was eating my leftovers and I came across a bug. Even when I called to complain the manager said she could make me another one but I refuse to ever get food from here again. She also added "it happens." That should never happen in a kitchen!! It is absolutely disgusting and filthy.
google avatar

Charles H.

Yelp
This maybe the best Chinese food restaurant in South Texas. The food is exceptional and the service is A plus. As soon as my iced tea was half empty the waitress seemingly came out of nowhere and refilled my glass. I ordered the combination fried rice dinner and my neighbor really enjoyed the beef n broccoli dinner. I went to another Chinese food restaurant the week before and I was really disappointed with the meal. Not here and no I'm not going to mention the other restaurants name.
google avatar

Joe N.

Yelp
I am giving 3 instead of 2 because there will be people who can appreciate Panda Express in a sit down setting. Oily food. The spiciest dish not spicy. Dishes tried were sweet so appeal is to American style Chinese food. If you are not ready for authentic Chinese cuisine then this is right for you.

Sophia M.

Yelp
This place is just... HEAVEN. The staff, the food, everything about it is just amazing. You come here you will never regret it. You'll keep coming back and it will just continue to blow your mind and mouth Everything about this restaurant is fantastic You will not be disappointed

Mike L.

Yelp
Worst food ever. Should have just gotten a Whataburger. Food tasted old. Beef was terrible. Sauce tasted like bilge water mixed with used oil. Fried rice was sticky. Just stay away.

Dany L.

Yelp
The foundation is there! I got the sweet and sour chicken piece. The breading and chicken was perfect, but what is the sauce??? The flavor comes from the sauce Bamboo Garden! I wanted to give four stars but sweet and sour sauce has got to be better. That's like the main Chinese food signature dish. I had hot and sour soup- now that was so dang good. The peach milk- AMAZING. This place is almost there. Just get that sauce right- and offer hot mustard. Thank you

Rick G.

Yelp
Went to pick up an order and immediately noticed a rude sign. " If you have no patience fill out application" Shared with family and friends and none will go there now.
google avatar

Joseph Y.

Yelp
Ordered the chicken with black bean sauce, which is supposed to be a savory dish. What they sent was super sweet orange chicken type food with a syrupy sweet sauce and a few black beans sprinkled in it. It was terrible, unauthentic, and inedible to me.
google avatar

Daniel V.

Yelp
The curry here is not good. It is like a water soup. No level of flavor going on. Last time ordering from there. Unfortunate.

Veronica B.

Yelp
Original owners sold this restaurant! When they left so did the great food! It has been sold twice since then and it is awful!
google avatar

Megan G.

Yelp
SO NASTY. The food had no flavor whatsoever.. I had the curry seafood fried rice *insert gag* it smelled so bad and tasted just as bad. My husband ordered the sweet and sour chicken (which he loved) and the beef and broccoli.. which tasted sour! I got to the point where I started feeling sick. To end our wonderful $40 meal a huge roach flew from the wall to the floor and was just running around. I WILL NEVER GO BACK! The waitress was so nice, yes I tipped her and no I didn't complain; it's not her fault. But JESUS that was gross. Now I have to pray I don't get food poisoning from the most disgusting food/restaurant ever!

Crister R.

Yelp
short staffed and food came out really fast. Food is amazing and employees are very nice. Tastes great every time i come. it tastes better than gordon ramsay. 10/10 must try again
google avatar

Alissa G.

Yelp
The food was horrible. Way too peppery and over seasoned. The only good about it was the soups.
google avatar

Craig P.

Yelp
Rudely refused to add green beans to my dish even though I've done it many times before. Claimed they have never done that, like this person is the only one who has ever taken a to go order. I gladly offered to pay what ever charge they wanted. I am a paying customer and am not asking for anything that I would consider out of the ordinary and didn't appreciate basically being called a liar. Food is good but this staff member was out of line. Here I am trying to increase my ticket amount and get treated like this. I even asked for an order of green beans on the side and was refused.
