Frequent customers here! Always super happy with the food (either its a dine in or a takeout) and super friendly staff! The place is always busy, but food always comes fast and delish. I highly appreciate vegan options. As long as I can remember, I have never ever had a meal here that I didnt like. Sushi, salads, curry… always 10/10. The only downside for me is an interior, I would say its kinda outdated and dark, however its not such a big issue. Love your hot green tea too!

Google
Absolutely delicious food. All the plates were extremely fresh and a delight to eat. The salad sauce is the best of its kind, so fresh has be home made. Service is great. Don’t bother thinking just go here.

Google
One of my favorite Thai restaurants around! The food is delicious and well made. The flavors are perfect and everything feels fresh. I love the atmosphere, staff, and overall vibe. It’s a very enjoyable restaurant to sit and eat in. They have a large menu with plenty of vegan options! Most menu items can be made vegan upon request. Overall, it’s a fantastic restaurant that I continue to go back to time and time again! (Everything in the pictures I posted is vegan)

My favorite place to get sushi. Went with family for a birthday dinner at which point employees heard us say happy birthday. When we were finished with dinner, they brought a surprise dessert and sang happy birthday, without us asking and they didn't charge us for it. It was a wonderful surprise to us all

Whenever we are in town we always take the grandkids to Bamboo House. Sushi is always fresh, food is always cooked perfectly! Serving is good and it is always pretty crowded. Overall, always a great experience

Google
Wonderful experience! We tried this place while in the area and couldn't be happier. The decor and atmosphere is lovely and we appreciated the attention to detail. Service was great and the food was prepared pretty quick. The food was delicious and more authentic than we are used to. We tried the Pineapple Coconut Fried Rice, Pad See Yu, Mee Ga Thi, , Mango Chicken, Tempura Ice Cream and Mochi Ice Cream. We'd recommend all of it! We will definitely return when we are nearby!

This place used to be my go to for good food, I guess dining alone means you get ignored! I greeted the staff as I came in, and was told to sit any where. As soon as I sat, I was brought menus. Then I sat and sat and sat... no one came over. Finally almost 10 minutes later, I was getting up to leave, a server came over and took away the other place setting. Didn't ask me what I wanted at all. 2 other tables of two came in, they gravitated to them. Another 5 minutes goes by, I was asked what I want to drink, after they served drinks to the other tables of two, I got my glass of water. I ordered a lunch special, Lar nard noodles with a spring roll. 13.00. Poor presentation of the spring roll, poor taste in the spring roll! Costco has better spring rolls in the freezer section! The spring roll was served on a coffee cup saucer, really? You want to charge big prices, which I was willing to pay, at least, have some nice dishes! The noodle dish faded as I ate it, Chinese broccoli was really hard, noodles were mush, chicken tasted old. I was really really disappointed 😞 Really glad I didn't order sushi, who knows how long that was sitting around. The entire restaurant needs a good scrubbing. I guess the owner is too busy at her other location? So so disappointed!

Google
Food was incredible! Service was really great! Strange to roll up to because from the parking lot it does not look appealing but when you walk in the atmosphere is really nice and welcoming!

Yelp
The Bamboo House has been a staple of my community and a warm hearth for those living near Frenchtown since its inception. My family and I have enjoyed their delicious food for over a decade and I'm proud to say is my favorite childhood restaurant. The chefs are highly talented in their techniques and flavor development, the hospitable service is fast and reliable, and was an inspiration for me to follow cuisine as a passion and eventually a career. My favorites include anything from the raw bar (high quality tuna, salmon, scallop, etc.), Pad See Ew (best with xtra meat and xtra gai lon), and their Thai curries. 10/10, favorite restaurant from my hometown

Yelp
Thai Pepper steak was out of this world! Succulent beef with perfectly cooked peppers.

Rosemary G.

Yelp
Everything about it was terrific. So many fantastic choices, we enjoyed every dish, great vibe and comfortable seating. Good service. Went with friends for dinner & took a while to get our meal. Server was very responsive when we asked and food came out hot. So all good.

Yelp
What a wonderful evening experience. Upon arrival we were shown right to a table and it was filling up quickly this Friday night. Servers came by right away to provide menus and answer questions along with taking a beverage order. We had the mixed iced tea lemonade, they use green tea and it was surprisingly a welcomed and refreshing flavor. We started of with the spider man roll- soft shell and it was outstanding. The presentation, freshness and flavor was a wow! Next we shared the boneless red snapper and requested it not to be fried too long. It is lightly tempura battered with mixed vegetables in a spicy Thai chilli sauce. Again, wow. So flavorful and tender being lightly battered and lightly fried. A most enjoyable and tasty experience.

Yelp
Such amazing food every single time. Cozy inside and has been a go to of ours for years. Favorite spot!

Alyssa A.

Yelp
I ordered the spring rolls and extra spicy basil fried rice (chicken). the spring rolls were pretty good but the rice was very underwhelming and it was extra mild. no spice at all! Very disappointing I will not be ordering here again. Kuay Tiew 9 Noodles and Pru Thai in Clinton are 100% better.

Yelp
Amazing food amazing Customer service , if you eve are in this little town , add this place to your places to eat, affordable well worth a visit meals. Small place for a simple dinner, nice and quiet .

Yelp
One of the few places that does both Thai and sushi well. My go to place for platters of sushi or just plain going out to eat. No matter how busy they are, they always manage to make things work. Love the place to dine in or take out. Lots of good stuff to order...

Leni C.

Yelp
Our goto place for a night out with family and friends or good take out. Always special for good Thai and sushi. We still haven't had everything on the menu because we love our favorites, but when we do its another great meal
google avatar

Kathleen Z.

Yelp
While we moved away, this is our favorite sushi restaurant. We will travel to eat here. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place! Great variety and excellent service. BYO. Always a great meal. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We visited Bamboo House for lunch. Service was good/fast. It was clean. Food was good. I would return.

James C.

Yelp
You cannot find better. A strong statement I know and perhaps you can in New York or maybe Philly but is the chance worth the trip? This is a family run restaurant so each person you encounter from host to chef to busperson has a vested interest in your positive experience and it shows. The food is not only expertly prepared but is beautiful to look at. I cannot say I have had everything on the menu but I have had enough to be confident in saying there is nothing that will disappoint you and plenty that will keep you coming back. Bamboo House is a sure thing

Yelp
Very nice attentive staff Lots of booth seating. Two of us ordered the salmon teriyaki set . It came with soup and a salad. (It came with 3 pieces of salmon. Yikes! I brought two home. Underneath had red & green bell peppers , onions and broccoli. Delicious & colorful. Another friend ordered garlic chicken. Lovely scent and taste!! All came with a cowl of hot white rice. We really enjoyed out food . It was fresh and hot & flavorful. For desert we split dragon ball. Icecream ball dipped in chocolate. Delightful!!
google avatar

Guy R.

Yelp
One side of the menu is Thai, the other side Japanese. I can never decide what is better. Both are really good. The place has good ambiance, busy but not crazy. We have always received good service at the Bamboo House
google avatar

Bella M.

Yelp
We tried a large assortment of rolls, as well as the papaya salad, spring rolls, spicy yellowtail appetizer, vegetable dumplings and tuna dumplings. We were all shocked at the great reviews, it just wasn't that good. Nothing was epically bad, but the sushi was really mediocre. One of the rolls was cut unevenly, with smaller pieces and some 'double width' pieces. The rice wasn't the best consistency. The miso soup lacked sodium, and was one of the worse miso soups I have tried. Service was friendly, and nothing negative about the ambiance- but they do need to refill both soap containers in the men's and women's restrooms.

Yelp
Excellent! Quite nondescript from the outside but looks are deceiving here. Very friendly service. Volcano shrimp is very good and the calamari is perhaps the best I've had. The sushi and sashimi dinner combo is very good. The tempura shrimp & beef negimaki dinner combo was ok. Overall its great.
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
I called Bamboo House prior to my visit to see if they had gluten-free options available, which they confirmed. They offer tamari as well, which makes it much easier when eating at any sushi restaurant, as I often bring a container of my own soy sauce. The staff were all very welcoming and attentive during my visit with a friend. Our sushi rolls were brought to us quickly and they were delicious. They had plenty of vegetarian options for me, which I appreciate. The rolls were neat and aesthetically pleasing, so it's nice to see care put into the food. If you're in the area, this is certainly a spot worth visiting.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
A really great Chinese restaurant. Not on the main Street. You have to look for it. Food was very good and people were very nice. We'll be back.
google avatar

Glenn M.

Yelp
Food was utterly disgusting, no flavor, weird ingredients in the fried rice, would never order from there again!
google avatar

Oleg O.

Yelp
The food is always on point as is the whole staff. Among one of my favorite places which never disappoints. Get very busy around 6:30 but you are never waiting long even during the rush. They are a BYOB but if you forget they will have a bottle delivered from their local sister location. Highly recommended!!!

Yelp
Came here for lunch Sunday afternoon. It was quiet and we were able to have a good conversation. We got veggie dumplings, green curry, fried rice and thai ice tea. Everything was delicious. I personally thought the green curry was a tadddd spicyyy but very good.

Chris D.

Yelp
I have been there several times over the years opened. I have always been happy but my family and I have been there recently ordered different Thai have receiving them. They tasted like cheap Chinese takeout. Nothing like Thai food that I'm accustomed to.
google avatar

Brett H.

Yelp
I'm so sad to rate this so poorly. We recently moved to Hunterdon County and we have been CRAVING sushi... but this just isn't it. Slow service & bland flavors. Maybe it was an off night?? Maybe we'll try again another time.
google avatar

David N.

Yelp
It is a good thing we made a reservation, because this restaurant was bustling on a Friday night. We were seated right away, had very good service and the food came out at appropriate times. Everything was tasty. Price was fair. Good both for couples and families. 3% surcharge for credit card Would definitely return

Patricia E M.

Yelp
Absolutely the best Japanese/Thai restaurant. ( better then NYC) Always delicious, very clean, lovely staff . Will make any dish to your liking, all food made fresh to order. Very careful and understanding to any food allergies. Would give 10 stars if I could .

Kevin M.

Yelp
Had dinner here last Saturday and it was fantastic! Might've been the best Sushi/Rolls I have had in NJ. Service was excellent. I love a place where the staff has some personalty. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I'm semi-local to this restaurant and have been dying to try it since it's regularly recommended as the best place for sit-down Asian food. I would somewhat agree that the interior of this place is way more appealing than your average strip-mall Chinese joint. However, the lighting is quite dark inside. It took my eyes a few minutes to adjust. The rest of the decor is nice. It's a fairly small restaurant. They serve a combo of Japanese, Thai and possibly some Chinese dishes. I got the Cashew Chicken. It was good, not great. The sauce was spicy and the flavor was just ok. It came with a huge amount of (too many) thinly sliced red and green peppers, a few bamboo shoots and baby corn. I also tried the Thai basil broccoli with mushrooms and I just wasn't a fan. The broccoli was too well done and while I love the Thai basil flavor, the sauce they served it with was very sweet. My son got the Udon noodle soup. I tasted it. It had a slightly spicy broth and a lot of seafood and chicken. He enjoyed it a lot. My husband got a chicken and beef teriyaki combo and he enjoyed it. It came with a California roll which was good. It seems like their wheel house is Japanese food. If I decided to come back, I might try some of their special rolls. They seemed interesting and creative. The staff was very friendly and super attentive. Not a bad experience but I'm not in a rush to go back.

Yelp
While there is much to offer in Frenchtown and in the surrounding area, nothing compares to what Bamboo House has to offer. Having been eating Thai and Japanese food from all over the area, this place by far has the most superior food. Staff is great and the atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. When you're rolling through Frenchtown, be sure to add this gem on your list.

Yelp
We always love the food at Bamboo House. The service is very good, too. Ambiance is typical Asian, pleasant and comfortable.
google avatar

Allison A.

Yelp
This is a wonderful little gem in the heart of frenchtown. The food is great and the service is wonderful. They really make you feel at home! My family spends every summer in Frenchtown and this is one of our favorite places to grab a bite.

Yelp
This place was amazing! We came here to celebrate a birthday and were not disappointed. Do yourself a favor and get the dinner combo specials. We shared one with salmon teriyaki and beef negimaki and one with chicken teriyaki and beef negomaki. Both were fantastic. The edamame needed salt and almost all of the house special rolls were spicy so I took one star off for that. Service is great and ambiance is good. It was a little chilly in the back room so bring a sweater
google avatar

Laura F.

Yelp
Exceptional sushi! I really enjoyed my Sweet Potato roll, as it had a good amount of sweet potato and was cooked perfectly. The Bomb roll was very tasty too. I would order both again. My aunt ordered the HaHa roll and it was delicious as well! Will definitely be going back to sit down or take out.
google avatar

Dina M.

Yelp
Everything here is delicious and authentic. Great atmosphere with long raw wood tables and cozy booths. Worst thing is not being able to decide what to order!
google avatar

Richard B.

Yelp
For a small town restaurant the food is top notch. Their sushi and curry are delicious.
google avatar

Adam M.

Yelp
A must stop every time I'm in the area. Literally haven't had a poor experience at this restaurant. Staff is extremely friendly and food is amazing. Really stands out as a unique option in the area. If you're a fan of Asian cuisine and you're in Frenchtown stop in an order anything from the menu and you won't be disappointed
google avatar

Patrick K.

Yelp
Normally I only get cucumber rolls and cream cheese with duck sauce packets on the side and it's amazing so yeah I think I have gotten is the general Taos chicken which is amazing I've gotten the sweet-and-sour chicken amazing. I've gotten the bourbon chicken amazing and if it. Wasn't closed tomorrow. I will get it Monday.

Nate N.

Yelp
Best sushi have had in years. Second time here. First time we went with curry and teriyaki. It was good but ordered sushi this time around and it was fabulous. Tons of options as well. Look forward to coming back. Plus price was spot on. Kani salad and 3 rolls were 60$. Pay that all day.
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
We love this place. The staff are very friendly and the place has a good vibe. The food is good and while it's not spectacular, it's the best in the area. There's a variety of things you can get from Japanese to Thai and even a smattering of stir fries. The Pad Thai is good, the sauce is the correct flavor (no ketchup). I like the Drunken Noodles (Pad Kee Maw). My only gripe is that I wish they didnt put broccoli in it, it's not meant to have such large pieces of vegetables. They should really swap out to a cut bok choy or something leafy. All in all, very good place in Frenchtown.
google avatar

Jordan P.

Yelp
Tremendous selection of specialty rolls! The Dynamite and Spider Man rolls are delicious. Cozy little spot, BYOB.

Dee M.

Yelp
Insanely overpriced for mediocre food. I ordered a dish that was more expensive than at most other Thai places in the area, and was less than half the portion. On top of that, I was told, after waiting a while, they had to have my sake delivered. It arrived half way through my meal.

Cindy C.

Yelp
Love Love the food here! So fresh! Service is ALWAYS good! Best Thai food around! BYOB!
google avatar

J R.

Yelp
The food and service were top of the line. Waitresses seem to know what u want before u even ask Oyster sauce is super delicious. Chicken dishes with basil were memorably good. No disappointments here!!!

Emily H.

Yelp
Cara and her staff offer the freshest food served by the nicest people. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. And, if you are a sushi lover, look no further!
google avatar

Sandip S.

Yelp
This was great. Located a little far from the downtown and beautiful outside. We sat outside (quite good seating arrangement) for a late fall lunch. We ordered 5 dishes and were happy with each of them. The price was reasonable and the quantity was quite good. Food was very tasty. Very happy and will go back there when we get a chance.
google avatar

Elise H.

Yelp
The food at bamboo is always spot on and consistent, never any issues with service! Nice low key setting to enjoy your meal as well that isn't too crowded or loud for conversation.

Christina P.

Yelp
Best sushi around! We love the Frenchtown Roll and the chicken teriyaki dinner bento box! Excellent service and quality food!

Jeff K.

Yelp
Delicious Thai Food BYOB Curry and Teryaki dishes were good You control the spice level Highly recommend

Yelp
Great service. Great food. Would give it 6 stars if possible!!! Pad Thai amazing. Kept checking on us and taking care of needs before we even asked- but never felt rushed. Soooo friendly.
