Bamboo House

I went around 4 PM on Tuesday and got dinner for my family. I ordered a large beef with black bean sauce. The beef was tender and I really enjoyed all the vegetables that were included. The vegetables were broccoli, bamboo, shoots, carrots, green peppers, snow, peas, and baby corn. I also ordered the happy family and that was very delicious. I had a small vegetable lo mein, which was great. I also ordered a small, sweet and sour chicken. The chicken was very tender and moist and I really enjoyed the sauce that came on the side. It wasn’t overly sweet, just right. I’ve been reluctant to try this place because of the low star reviews but this place is excellent and I’m so glad I came here to try it. I will definitely be ordering from here again!

I went here with my husband and mother-in-law on a Sunday at noonish. It wasn't super busy. The food was delicious!! Very flavorful compared to some other Asian restaurants I've been to recently. We got 3 lunch specials for $35ish. I would love to go back the next time we are in Greensboro.

This review is long overdue, moved to n.c 2 years ago and we looooove chinese food as our go to take out meal. Was hard at first to find a chinese restaurant in the area we felt matched the style and flavor we have liked for years. But then we took a chance at bamboo house skeptical at first that a small dated shopping center area would have good restaurants but Wooooooow ! 9/10!!! We loveeee the food!! We have eaten what feels like dozens and dozens of different chinese restaurants and buffets throughout the United states and the number 1 on our list is a similar chinese take out in new jersey that blew us away!!! But bamboo is a solid number 2 or 3 on our list. As long as we live in greensboro this will be our regular spot! Thank you for the delicious food and excellent service!

Always top notch service from ordering to receiving and most certainly eating. My family and I have never ordered anything that we were not pleased with. Food is ALWAYS hot and fresh. Our go to spot for Chinese.

My 2nd favorite Chinese joint in the Greensboro metro area.

Had delivery from here once before from a delivery app, and thought it was really good, so I decided to save on delivery fees and go get take out this evening. Had to go back to my delivery email to make sure I had the right place because the reviews/ratings were so much better on the delivery app. Once I reassured myself I had the same place I placed my order online on their website. Arrived at the restaurant and looked at the menu and was pleased to see the prices were the same (often not the case at other restaurants where there is a significant markup/fees when ordering online even direct through the restaurant's site). Once again the food was great, and service was too. Will be back for sure.

Food and Service are top notch, this is primarily a take out spot and really the best we have found in the area!

Had to come back to my favorite Chinese food, it was ok this time around. I added ribs and had to go home and saturate them in my own sauce to make it slap. Chicken wings were good but not as great as they usually are. I'll be back again though for my usual:

Bamboo house is the perfect takeout for a night in! My boyfriend introduced me to Bamboo house a few years ago and I've been getting it ever since. We ordered from here last night and it was great. We like to get two combos and then split them but we always have leftovers since the portions are pretty large. We ordered the crab rangoons , which are deliciously cheesy and have a nice crispy outer layer. We ordered the General Tso's chicken with vegetable lo mein. The general Tso's chicken has a nice flavor and is really saucy. The vegetable lo mein is really good and packed full of veggies. Each combo comes with an egg roll. We also ordered the sweet and sour chicken with white rice. The batter on the chicken is crispy and they give you a big tub of sweet and sour sauce to dip the chicken in.

Lo mein, beef and broccoli, and shrimp and vegetables were well prepared and very good, if a little pricey.

Bamboo house has been one of our go tos ever since I moved back to Greensboro about 10 years ago. They are always consistent and decent prices. The family running it is always nice when ordering on the phone and when picking up. We opted for some general Tso's chicken with lo mein and some sweet and sour chicken. The sweet and sour chicken always comes with a great portion of chicken and rice and the sauce is your typical sweet and sour. The general tsos was delicious as well coming with a nice crunch on the chicken but perfectly cooked on the inside and slathered in sauce. All combos come with rice and an egg roll we just happened to go for lo mein for an up charge as the side and we're glad we did! No order is complete without the Crab Rangoons though! One of my favorite Chinese restaurants to get Crab Rangoons because the filling is the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and savory! The food is good and hasn't disappointed us yet, so we will continue to order here!!

Average Chinese food. I wasn't that impressed with the house lo mein. It was mostly noodles and hardly any meat. The general tso chicken lacked flavor and sauce. The wings were ok and so were the dumplings. I did like the bone in spare ribs and would return for those. I also enjoyed dipping the crab Rangoon in that sweet and sour sauce.

Not very thrilled with how they treat people. They are rude. I understand the general public sucks the life out of you but everyone was polite to you guys. Jeesh....

Got stuck overnight at GSO Airport and stayed overnight at the Marriot (nearest / part of the airport complex) and this place delivers so we ordered from there as the hotel bar/restaurant is closed on Sundays. Got two Egg Rolls, a small Beef Lo Mein and a large House Special Fried Rice. Placed the order at 6:49pm and was told it would be delivered in 45 minutes. At 7:54pm called to ask where the order was and was told they were "backed up" but that it was on it's way. Over 20 minutes after that call the food arrived. No tip for you. The two Egg Rolls were pretty standard. No complaints. The House Special Fried Rice was very good. The Beef Lo Mein was....ugh....The Lo Mein noodles were way over cooked, they had a slimy texture to them. It filled our bellies, but between the long wait and the sub par Lo Mein, they get two stars. Sorry.

I think their food is horrible. Worst Chinese I've had. It's so bland. There's not enough soy sauce. You can put on it to make it taste any better.

best Chinese restaurant in greensboro . they have great crab Rangoon, romaine . great customer service everyone is friendly . the sweet donuts are the best. the chicken fried rice is to perfection general Tso's is very good too . we frequent this spot for to go orders and enjoy the bamboo house

This is your typical quick pick Chinese restaurant. The menu is just as basic as any other similar style menu. Pricing seems to be just a step higher than other restaurants of this nature but in my opinion their taste is notch better than most of their competitors. I've never gotten anything bad here though on two occasions my egg rolls were a little over cooked. But with that being said their egg rolls are really good. I'll definitely keep getting meals from here.

Went here for dinner w/a friend last night on a recommendation of another friend. We ordered tempura crab and crab rangoon appetizers. Both dishes were delicious. Their egg rolls are beef and cabbage, and I'm not a fan, as I prefer the bean sprouts and baby shrimp and/or pork egg rolls (hard to come by these days). My friend said they were tasty, so it's a matter of preference. The hibachi chicken and shrimp dinner was dry (no teriyaki sauce requested, but dry as in overcooked). The beef broccoli dinner was good--broccoli had slight crunch and meat was tender. As far as service goes, waitress seem high energy but was running dining room, managing kitchen and food/carryout orders, causing for long waits at tables and lack of attention--i.e. I had to go to front counter to ask for bill and carryout container. While service suffered, it appears to be a popular spot w/locals. As they say, "good food is not prepared in a hurry", however, if you have time constraints, this may not be a place for a pleasant dining room experience--in that case, I would probably recommend carryout.

I have been going here for over 10 years since it's really close to my neighborhood and this is the best takeout Chinese that I've had. I LOVE their chicken and broccoli, and fried chicken! They have lunch combos every day of the weekend, even on Saturday and Sunday!! And their egg rolls are always really good as well! Great customer service!! Just a heads up though, they usually don't let you substitute items on the lunch specials (Ex. If it comes with fried rice it you can't substitute for white rice). All in all I love this place and eat it at least 3 times a month consistently!

Love this place. Always have. It's my go to around here and I've never had any issues. Family owned so I definitely love it's supporting local.

Great food and very friendly staff. The broccoli and tofu is my family's favorite. I love their garlic sauce. Always had great service.

Bamboo House is a mainstay in our household. We go there at least once, maybe twice, a week. The business is family owned and operated. Their children have worked there since they were very young -- have been raised in the business! Mom and Dad are hard-working and eager to provide great food and service at a decent price. We have always had great meals in a timely manner. It's the perfect family night out OR a great place to order delivery and eat in. Do yourself a favor and eat at Bamboo House!

I think I've found my new favorite fast food Chinese take out...I found this during Christmas day when practically every restaurant are closed, even McDonalds...beggars can't be choosers so when I saw that Bamboo House was open, I gave it a try...and I really like the food...very flavorful and ton's of variety not seen at other Chinese take out...when was the last time you saw Beef and Eggplant on the lunch special menu? Also, ordering online is slick and easy...love this place...

Used to be my go-to for Chinese delivery. But over the last year, they have fallen way off. My family would order Chinese at least 1x a week for dinner. The delivery system was ok until I started ordering in advance. If you ask for food to be delivered any time after 4 pm expect it to be at minimum 15-20, the longest delay was 30 minutes late but tends to average 15-20 minutes. In general, that wouldn't be a big deal but seriously what's the point in having the option to order hours in advance if you're not going to deliver it at the time requested? Besides the portion of food declining ( heavy on cheap vegetables but ultra-light on proteins) of course prices have gone up as they have everywhere but why is the food quality now compromised? The last two times one order in January and one about 2 weeks ago at the beginning of the month the food tasted old. Not spoiled old but like it had been prepared earlier in the day and just warmed up for my order. This then makes me question when is the food being cooked if the order is getting delivered 15-20 minutes late. As I said during better time pre covid the food and service was amazing. I used to work at the airport and would order from here pretty regularly. Now I'll just go back to fighting Lawndale traffic to pick up takeout from China's best. It's not convenient but it's consistently good.

Some of the best if not the best dumplings I've had in GSO & surrounding areas. My daughter loves them & my husband loves their food. He has a high standard for customer service & low tolerance for anything less & he recommended this place so I tried it out today& was completely satisfied with the fried dumplings/ sauce & the hot 'n sour soup. Prices compare to urge Chinese Food places that prepare good with flavor.

My mother picked her order and returned home noticing that we received the wrong item. I called back and the owners refused to refund the money or correct the mistake. I advised them it was unreasonable for me to have to drive back there for their mistake. The owner called my mother a liar multiple times.

I felt compelled to leave a review based on the negative reviews. I ordered the Chicken Lo Mein lunch special and was very happily surprised at how good it was. Well seasoned nice chicken breast bites. The egg roll was a little greasy but very tasty as well. I will definitely be back to try something else on the menu!

I've been a regular customer for many years. My dinner tonight was wonderful. Excellent job!!

Pleasantly ordinary. The standard Chinese take-out menu, the standard consistent preparation, you get what you'd expect to get from a place like this, which is a good thing. Prices are reasonable, service prompt and if the place looks a little old, well, maybe we all show a little wear and tear after a while. Amazing how these places aren't part of a chain, but all have the same menu and similar prices, though there are small changes in the taste between them, but nothing worth crossing town for. The food has been good every time and I expect I'll go there again.

Not impressed. The cashew chicken had a seafood flavor to it. They told me 45 minutes to deliver and got it there in 20. That's good for time, but probably day old reheated food.

I am very surprised by the negative reviews. I think Bamboo House is just like any of the other run of the mill Americanized Chinese food takeout places. This place is no more or less expensive than the Chinese food restaurant that I normally frequent. The customer service was great! We ordered sweet and sour chicken that came with the sweet and sour sauce on the side (like usually). We also ordered sesame chicken and general tso's chicken. Everything we ordered tasted fine and is what we would expect from this type of restaurant. Our order was prepared fast despite there being plenty of take out orders ahead of ours. I have no complaints from this establishment.

Horrible customer service! Food is great. I will never go because I was told I was in the wrong for using a red pen, which they provided for me. The girl taking my order realized she had not charged me for extra egg rolls after she ran my card, so I paid cash for those. I get home and no Hot & Spicy soup, but they sent sweet and sour sauce. I didn't order anything that would have sweet and sour sauce. When I called about the second mistake made by the underage worker, it was my fault and they refused to deliver the soup even when I said I would pay for it. This could have been overlooked if we had not spent $60.00 there last weekend. From now on we will be going to Asian Wok!!!

Worst Chinese food in Greensboro! It used to be pretty good . I ordered House Special Fried Rice and Boneless spare Ribs . The Spare Ribs were good . The House Special Fried rice was almost all Rice , very light on veggies and almost NO MEAT! This is a Large. Quart Sized box also ! Literally 1 tiny shrimp 1 sliver of chicken and maybe 2 small pieces of pork ! I am not exaggerating either . The food was delivered. And I called back to explain they said okay we will send another one . The man that came back looked like a cook or owner . He demanded the first food back in exchange for the new one . No problem. After I handed it to Him he opened it up and and started yelling look Shrimp pork , meat Pointing to the rice . I told him to leave . He was very upset , rude and disrespectful. He could use some anger management classes probably! Never again will I order from Bamboo House on Fleming rd . Unbelievable!

ordered my lunch from here at 11:30 for delivery to my work which is less than 10 minutes away. after an hour of waiting, i called and was told the driver was on the way. 15 minutes later, still no food. called back and was told the driver had several orders to drop off along with mine. at this point, it's been an hour and 20 minutes since i ordered. fried rice, two egg rolls, and an order of crab rangoons. my order finally arrived at 1 pm. my food was hot and seemed pretty fresh which makes me think they forgot my order or simply didn't care. i will NEVER order from here again, wouldn't recommended anyone else do it either.

This place was honestly just like a watered down version of take out Chinese food. I know that most of these places are pretty "cookie-cutter" anyways with the same sign and the same menu. Everything was just okay. I can't say that I'll ever go back there.

I live close so we order dinner every 6 weeks or so. I would not go out of your way for this place but it is conveniently located to my house. I order vegetarian dishes and I wish they would include more variety of veggies. All broccoli--no onions, peppers, carrots, or sprouts. The Lo Mien dishes are good. My family is always satisfied. Service is friendly and fast.

I ordered wonton soup and it was really good. Haven't had anything else from here. Close to the house so worth the trip.

I placed an order by internet, and the food was waiting on me 20 minutes later. Everything tasted excellent. The lady behind the register did seem distracted by her kids, but all I was doing was picking up my food, so it made no difference to me. I have a new place for Chinese take-out.

Convenient close and consistent. Traditional American iced Chinese food. I like the hot and sour soup and pork love mein.

I just recently found them via Grub Hub and I was impressed by their extensive menu, wit appetizers I haven't seen before, and some specials that were new to me too. Their lunch specials are incredibly affordable ad filling too! I would recommend it.

We received our delivery order one hour and 15 minutes after we placed it. The food was bland and they did not send us the extra condiments we ordered. We also noticed the 8.5 x 11 size paper copy of the online order they gave to us showed all 16 digits of the credit card used as payment along with the card's expiration date AND security code. When we went to the restaurant the next day to discuss this with the manager, he was not available. Even though there was a female adult sitting behind the counter, it was the very polite 10-13 year old young lady that was trying to assist us. Every question had to be answered by the adult female, but at no time did this adult make any attempt to speak to us directly. One of the other staff members was called to the front and spoke to us. He explained the have never had a security issue in the 20 years they have been in business which is great, but we seemed to be unable to stress the seriousness of the visible credit card information. We were not successful in our attempt to make them understand this should not happen, creates insecurity with their customers, and could possibly be illegal. The online order that was placed through their website at www.bamboohousegreensboro.com was processed through another website called Beyond Menu. Beyond Menu does not process the payments and the payment information is sent to the restaurant for processing; thus, the reason the restaurant has all of the customer's personal information. I will not order from this restaurant again even if pay by cash.

I really do like the food but now I have to find another place. The owner's children work there and hang out in the dining area playing on phones, tablets, homework, etc. and sometimes they act up, but I didn't care because I love the food. Well, I am vegetarian and requested something a little different from the adult women, no problem. It was so good I ordered it again the following week, but this time the child took my order and said it wasn't on the menu. I also ordered something that was on the menu, she said it wasn't, pulled out her phone to pull up the menu..in summary, it got complicated and very unprofessional. There really should be a place in the back of the restaurant for the kids to hang out. I really didn't mind the kids taking my order until this situation, I will never go back.

The food at Bamboo House is always great and plentiful unlike some of the other restaurants in the area that I've experienced. I can't relate to having any issues with ordering (online or in-person) or any account information being visible on the packaging. I think they do a good job of keeping information private and they're prompt to taking orders and remembering customers. The food is always ready and the people that work there are very polite.

Used to order from here all the time, but haven't ordered in a few years. Terrible management now. Placed an order and when she repeated it back, it was all correct. Order came, and we were missing two items. The order sheet did not have one item circled (despite her repeating it), and one was rice which comes with meals. Had to tell them about 7 times that no, we do not have rice and yes, we know it comes in a white container. Heard a lady yelling in the back the whole time. After an 18 minute conversation, we finally got them to accept that we did not have our rice, and they agreed to deliver it. Still, no broccoli, even when I explained that given we had to convince them so many times over such a long ridiculous conversation that we at least didn't have our rice we definitely should have, that we should be given a small side of broccoli (we ordered a large -- she even asked what size...) because that's how business works. Will never order again.

I just ate there yesterday with one of my close friends and while I was waiting for her. I had some questions about the menu since I had never been there before. The man who was answering my questions was very impatient and rude to me. If you hate your job and life so much then quit. Instead of answering my questions he just simply pointed the the pictures above me which wasn't answering my questions it wasn't related to the food type I was asking about. Then once my friend arrived and we had ordered I noticed that my fork was dirty so we asked for another one. The lady was like you have a fork. Obviously we had one but it was dirty she shouldn't have questioned us for all she knew it could have fallen on the floor. Once I finally received my food plus the soup I had ordered it was very cold hardly even warm. It was not worth eating there especially with the horrible customer service. I will never go back there whenever I was being polite and said thank you the people who worked there didn't even have the audacity to say you are welcome they. They really need to work on their manners and being polite if they want to improve their business.

Food OK. Service terrible. They act as though you are doing them a favor by spending your money on their food. There are too many Chinese fast food places that want business.

This is so close to where I live I wish it wasn't so bad. The food is not passible as Chinese and the ingredients are as cheap as they come. I hope management reads this and changes things because the way it is currently the food is not edible

This is the best Chinese food there is around. They are always so friendly to their customers. It is a great restraunt.I go there every week. I suggest this restraunt to anyone wanting great Chinese food.

I placed a take out order on the evening of Oct 30, 2014 to pickup at 10:30 am on Oct 31, 2014. The hostess that answered the phone was very pleasant and took my order and said nothing about 10:30 am being too early for pickup, so I assumed everything was fine. I was due to pickup at 10:30 am and due to work I arrived 15 mins late. As I walked through the door one of the staff members started screaming at me saying I was late and he came in early just for me. I responded that if the hostess had informed me that it was a bit early and come in at 11:00 am, I would have done so. I ask for no special treatment and had no idea what I was walking into. He continued to scream at me as I was leaving. I have been a customer of theirs for at least 10 years ordering delivery on a weekly basis. He knew who I was and shouted out my address and told me never to call and order from them again. On several occasions it took so long for the delivery, I would call to make sure it was on its way. I never complained about the time I just assumed they were busy. I am still in shock about the way I was treated. Yelling at me NEVER to order from him again??? He's crazy!!! When I returned to my office 2 co workers stated that on several ocassions when they picked up a carry out this same man had been rude to other customers. The food may be good but the customer service stinks. Spread the word, too many good resturants to put up with that kind of treatment.

I just had worst experience in forever. Asian woman running cash register was rudest person I have met in a long time. Pretended she did not understand what I was asking her and kept saying $6.25 and glaring at me. Will not ever go back. I live close and have ordered from them many times. I was amazed..
