I went two days in a row for takeout. The first time great the waiter who helped me place my order told me which dim sun didn’t have pork in it which I appreciated so much. Received my food not that long after got home it was so fantastic I ordered the Shrimp Drypot since I’m used to making hot pot at home I thought this would be a change and I loved it the shrimp were big. I would have loved it a bit more spicier, but I understand it really had a nice spice. It was very flavorful. Then I got the chicken bao which was good and shrimp har gow. Went back today to try their combo special I just got vegetable lomein with honey chicken. Honey chicken was good I don’t know why on the menu it has a pepper next to it. It’s not spicy. Lo mein good flavor I love that everything doesn’t taste bland and lotus root was present in the lo mein . My only gripe about service today was someone was helped before me and I was at counter long before them and I was ignored being the only person standing there, but then someone else walks up and helps them for their pick up order. This is purely individual based. It is my new favorite Chinese spot just because of the food alone and the place is beautiful in the inside. 美麗的氛圍,美味的食物.

It's all good. Great new era look. Totally renovated from Shirley's Royal China. Great atmosphere. Stylish booth, retangular tables and big 8 seater round tables. Food selection is great, priced right and generous portions. Friendly waiter, food brought out by a different staff, dedicated bus boy cleaning tables. Then, everyone helped to reset table for next guests. We will be back.

Such a cute place with incredible food! Super fresh and flavorful! Portion sizes were great. The sauces are made in house, and it shows. The server was knowledgeable about everything on the menu and made great suggestions. There were lots of vegan options as well! Definitely a hidden gem. Must try! A new favorite for sure!

Went in for dinner with my boyfriend after a long shift. Super attentive staff, clean dining area, fresh food, and quality ingredients. I got the honey chicken and it was amazing! Sweet with a kick, and super crunchy but not dried out! I had a decent amount of leftovers after finishing and the prices are very reasonable. Definitely going back

My new favorite Chinese restaurant! The food was flavorful and the portions were huge. I would highly recommend dry pot (we got beef), stir fried eggplants, and sour cabbage fish soup. The service was 10/10. Nice ambiance and well-decorated restaurant.

First of all the sign is so freaking cute! The food is so so so hot as they serve it to you so you know it’s fresh. The staff is very nice and inviting. I love the atmosphere and can’t wait to try all the things. The portions are super duper big so make sure you bring your comfy pants lol bc you we will be soooo full!

Good place to get dim sum in New Orleans. The place is very nice with a large menu. They open up pretty late and have an all day dim sum it looks like. I ordered the shu mai, har gow, and the crab and crawfish xao long bao. Overall, it was more expensive than I’d like especially compared to other places that I know. While they were all good in their own rights, the shrimp dumpling had a funny taste to it, the shu mai pretty good, the xao long bao didn’t have a strong flavor as I would like, but very filling. Overall, I’ll come back.

So fancy & clean. Service was a 10/10! Lo mein noodles were thin& not typical lo mein style. Bland. Chili sauce was extreme mild unusual. Very Americanized. Very sweet but not so spicy. Love the aesthetic but good was underwhelming

OMG! The food! Looking for quality Chinese for an early Saturday dinner. Chose this place for its convenient location on/off Veterans and the Yelp rating. Greeted immediately in this open space seating restaurant with lots of natural light. Server was ready to take our order ASAP, but told him was our first visit, we needed a minute. We did ask what the people behind us were eating because it looked divine. He told us, took our drink order and departed. Ultimately we ordered 2 meals: the spicy Honey Chicken w/white rice and the Beef with Hot Garlic Sauce w/pork fried rice. Each came with a spring roll. We had the dumpling appetizers explained, gave our server some of our preferences and told him to just bring us one of the choices he would order. We ended up with steamed pork bao, and they were SO good! First time for my husband, and he's hooked. The white rice with the chicken was perfectly cooked - something I always admire since I can't do it. The Honey Chicken was flavorful without being too hot; no veggies, which was fine with the husband. My Beef with Hot Garlic had tons of veggies, including lotus root! I haven't had that in over a decade, and there were 6 large pieces in my meal. I thought I won the lottery. Service was very good. It was a team effort, which I really appreciate. All the orders were taken on ipads around the servers' necks so everyone could access. Check out was painless. We took home enough leftovers for another meal and the take out containers were nice - no leaks. Totally returning!

Bamboo House is a great addition to the area. The space is open and inviting, and bright. The staff here are friendly, regardless of any screaming kids running around. The food here is probably one of the more authentic Chinese places around + the food is delicious and flavorful. My favorites are the chicken and eggplant, fried tofu, snow peas. and the beef chow fun. I love the veggie options here compared to others and the menu offers a wonderful variety of food for everyone. The portion sizes here are generous compared to others. I was quite surprised by the chicken and eggplant because it isn't overly sweet. Definitely try it out! Can't wait to try out more dishes!

A venture into authentic Chinese cuisine is the best move here. Having enjoyed both takeout and dining in, Bamboo House will be my go-to for Chinese. Their dumplings are some of the best in the city. I love the braised tofu. The congee is great. Beware of the reviews and opinions of your very "average Joe." We're not in Panda Express anymore, Toto.

So glad to have an authentic Chinese food spot in the area! Their XLB (soup dumplings) are the best we've had in the city. Food always comes out piping hot and full of flavors. Diverse menu for those craving authentic vs Americanized Chinese food at great prices. Service always excellent with many attentive waiters frequently checking in. Food comes out quick and always impressed by the taste and flavor. Cant really go wrong with any items on the menu! Ambience beautiful, bright and clean

We ordered a lot of the menu. Snowpea leaves, walnut shrimp and peking duck. Peking duck was the low light with so much bone that it was almost inedible. The vegetables were good and so were the soup dumplings.

Orange chicken is super dry and no flavor!!!Dim Dum part is overpriced.the service staff were polite.

I didn't realize when we decided to try this place that it's in the location that was Royal China (who's dim sum menu I miss dearly). You wouldn't recognize it by looking at the building, it's totally renovated and sort of the opposite ambiance. Everything is bright and open. The service was fine, we got what we asked for, though some things (like utensils) I would have preferred to have just been at the table. But this might be my new go to for simple, well cooked Chinese food in the city. The menu has typical American Chinese dishes, but also has some dishes that hint at authenticity in the kitchen. We had the crabmeat and crawfish Xiao long bao, which were quite large and very tasty, Curry seafood, which was the Chinese style yellow curry that I grew up with, with large shrimp, pieces of fish, and sizeable but not overly chewy squid, and a good amount of peppers and onions to balance. The shocker for me though was the salt and pepper tofu. My partner and I have a favorite place to get this fish in Austin, and have been working on trying to replicate it at home since he doesn't go there for work much anymore. When I saw this dish hit the table tonight I was underwhelmed. The tofu didn't look battered or seasoned at all, and the only accompaniment were large slices of jalapeno. But one bite and I did a full 180. The tofu was clearly brined, and whatever it was fried in was so flavorful! I didn't even miss the batter because they somehow got the exterior crispy. Definitely will be back to try more things, excited to have another spot with more than serviceable Chinese food in the city!

This is an update for the review I did about a month ago. I've eaten from here at least 10 times in the past 5 weeks. I'm hooked on their honey chicken and General Tso's chicken. Their flavors are on point and they are consistently delicious. The portion size seems to have increased. I'm a super regular customer.

Very nice interior, friendly efficient service. A step above the usual Chinese American restaurant. Very good bao, excellent dry pots. Only miss was the soup dumplings. They stuck to the paper in the steamer so all the soup drained out when they were removed.

Best Chinese I have had in years. Literally best lettuce wraps, fried dumplings, crab Rangoon and all with amazing sauces. Enjoyed with a nice glass of wine. And the service? Absolutely perfect.

Came for dinner on a Monday night. Place is clean and cute on the inside. Had a good amount of tables and was pretty crowded for a Monday. Our server was attentive. However we weren't wowed by the food. The best part was definitely the xian long bao. They were hot, fresh and tasty. But the ginger that came with it tasted old. The duck came out steaming hot, but wish it came with vegetables or something. The menu wasn't clear on what it came with. The shrimp were delicious, but were not nearly as hot and fresh as the duck which was disappointing. Overall, it was good but not great. Pretty cheap prices though which was nice.

Holy cow! Talk about it unexpected treasure. We are definitely coming back! Every single thing we had was quite literally perfect. Unbelievable textures and flavors. To top it off, the portion size was extremely satisfying. Wow!!! (Plus the staff was phenomenal!) We had a lot more than the eggplant that is pictured. I just didn't think about taking pictures until it was too late.

Second time here and both times have been great! Love the atmosphere and staff are all friendly. Food is wonderful! This time I got combo lo mein and the sauce was delicious.

I was not impressed with the food. Very bland and tasted frozen. Atmospheres is nice , waiters are not attentive. Very disappointing.

I stopped in for lunch yesterday and am impressed with the service I received. I was seated right away, and my booth was very spacious and super clean. Also, I loved that the space is so bright and open. I ordered sesame tofu, which wasn't on the menu, but my server explained that it was no problem to swap out the chicken on the lunch menu for tofu. My food arrived and was hot and tasty. My water glass was always full, and I was checked on regularly. I'll definitely be back.

The service is impeccable, everyone is so friendly~~ & the restaurant is beautifully decorated inside! The food was absolutely delicious, I just wished the salt toasted squid wasn't as tough to eat, i believe it may have been slightly over fried, other than that...I'll definitely visit again

Friendly. Fresh food. The mixed vegetables with added tofu had no sauce though, only a watery liquid. Egg drop soup was good. So was king pao shrimp. Would have liked it if they had offered a brown rice option.

We never tried this place out yet so we're really looking forward to it. One of us got the Mongolian beef, but there was a little to no beef and a whole lot of onions. My partner ended up throwing up after eating it. I got the general tsos, it's my go-to option and safe. For the first time ever, I was not impressed. The rice tasted stale. We were both disappointed. I definitely would not recommend.

I haven't felt this ignored since I gave up dating. Table next to me had their drinks delivered and their appetizer order taken, and I still hadn't talked to a server.

This is my second time eating here, first time was take out. The food was an improvement over the takeout. The inside is just beautiful! Bright and open, such an improvement from Royal China. My husband and I both said the food was much better than our takeout meal. The service however, was very lacking. There appeared to be only 1 server taking orders for the entire restaurant which seated at least 75. It was almost impossible to get the server's attention because she was so busy. There were 4 in my party and all of our meals came out at different times, with the first coming at least 5 (or more) minutes before the next one. I really hope they get their act together on the service. They have so much potential!

With dedicated woks for vegetables, and separate cooking spaces for meat and seafood, there's no need to worry about cross-contamination. Every dish is delicious, from the perfectly fresh tofu and crisp green vegetables to the fragrant, uniquely textured white rice. Don't miss the snow pea leaves when they are in season! The food was great and reasonably priced. this is a good place to go if you're looking for more "authentic" Chinese food.

Sooooo excited that there's a Chinese restaurant close by with REAL Chinese food! Yes, of course they have some of your American staples like sesame and orange chicken, but please expand your palate and try their dim sum dishes or the Peking duck! Flavors of the more traditional dishes are delicious and pretty on point to what you'd get in China or Taiwan. There's definitely a lack of more traditional Asian food around NOLA, so super excited there's now a neighborhood joint to eat at. It's also suuuuper cute inside, so nice for families or date night :)

Great food that arrived at our table in a timely manner. I ordered the Mongolian beef lunch combo. Very tender beef and large portion for a great price. The soup dumplings were also extremely flavorful filled with a rich broth. 10/10 definitely recommend.

Ate at Bamboo House with a friend. The service, food and Plum Sake were excellent! Our server Ms Konan was so welcoming and made sure we understood the menu. I will be returning. Really nice on the inside too

The orange chicken was not good it had like no sauce and it was hard and dry.the sesame chicken was tasted okay but it was dry. The "lo mein" idk what that was cause those are not the noodles that are used in Lo mein. The crab rangoos I could tell were not fresh they were soggy and not crispy but they tasted go through. The fried rice was not too bad. The vegetables were okay

Total missed opportunity.Rude & unattentive staff. No silverware ẁhen food came. Finally got spoon which was dirty. No cocktails. never could get a clean spoon so i Headed to kitchen. For a very long time, I've been looking for a good Asian restaurant where I can frequently enjoy hot and sour soup. Despite the hot weather, it's always one of my favorite soups and believe it or not. It's really difficult to find a good one. I enjoyed it from bamboo house and I got a lunch special which was just OK but had quite a bit of oil in it. I'm not giving up though because this place was really Lovely inside, the staff was super helpful, the service was incredibly fast and there was a lot of chicken in my entrée. I will definitely visit this restaurant the next time I have my craving. I wish the hot and sour soup was a little bit better because it seemed really oily, but I'm not giving up yet because I think I finally found a great place.!

Our first time in. Service was great and attentive. Food was delicious! They do many things fresh each day including the dumplings and soups. They offer many combo meals which are a great value for the price and we ate from that portion of the menu....Kung Pao Chicken and String Bean Chicken. Both were yummy and served extremely hot. Our new "go to" place for Chinese. We will be back...

Busy place..My first time - we loved the Hot and Sour soup and the pork dumpling appetizers. Service was timely, place was bustling at 5 PM and parking was tight! Entrees were mediocre though - large portions but meh...Garlic Shrimp was OK but shrimp were tough..KungPao chicken seemed to be an afterthought - not much flavor and the peanuts looked like they came out of a jar? We are likely to try it again and be perhaps a little more focused on entrees, not these 2 however. Clean, good service, large portions, nice appetizers - just entrees underwhelmed..

Everything is 5 stars! The only place I have found for perfect and delicious beef chow fun! Large portions and great quality in shrimp, beef and chicken. New remodel is clean and fresh looking. Bashar offered great service. Will return soon.

Tried the Dim Sum options and they were tastier than one if the other places I tried in Jefferson Parish. Really good dumplings and wontons here. Place looked clean and pickup service was fast.

Terrific addition to the New Orleans metroplex area's limited authentic Chinese cuisine tableaux. The food quality, ambience and service (especially!) are a vast, vast improvement over the previous restaurant at that same location. Good menu selections featuring a nice range of mostly Cantonese-style Chinese dishes. And I'm beyond stoked they have won ton NOODLE soup. It's sadly so rare to find here. The aesthetic is welcoming, clean, bright and stylishly curated with a modern update to traditional Chinese accents. Bonus that it's conveniently uber-nearby for me personally to slay a craving! The waitstaff seem somewhat inexperienced, but they have lovely, lovely attitudes. For Orleans Parish foodie folks, it's worth venturing just beyond the parish line's 17th Street Canal. Combine it with a Dorignac's, Fresh Market, Trader Joe's and Total Wine/Martin's Wine Cellar crawl, and you'll roll home loaded with delicious junk in your trunk (in more ways than one!).

Yes highly recommended!!!!! The abundance of menus choice one can only imagine to trying out everything on the menus as it's very yummy huge portion too . The soup dumplings are must have .the service also hard to come by nowadays.i have been here more the twice have not disappointed me yet. It's a good sign when the parking lots always full.

It just opened Monday, but this place is going to be packed. Everything was delicious. It has a relaxed welcoming atmosphere with a clean modern decor. The staff were a delight, and to top it off, the music was on point. I had the Szechuan Style Fish Fillet, which I will definitely be having again.

Got an order of combo fried rice to go. It was nothing special. Not a large portion like most Chinese restaurants. Probably won't go back.

Our new favorite Chinese restaurant! First of all, Norman was our server and he was excellent. Welcoming, attentive and gracious! We like wine with meals, and brought our own. They were accommodating with cups and no corkage! We ordered the Crab Rangoon, Pork eggrolls and pan fried shrimp and pork dumplings to start and all were incredible. The shrimp fried rice was excellent with huge deveined shrimp and a generous helping. For our entree we got the Hot Garlic Beef with a side of Bok Choy. Completely delicious. The menu is huge. Can't wait to return and try more dishes! We loved it!

First time visiting this restaurant. Everything was great! They don't have a Lunch Menu, but they DO have a Combo Menu which includes an entree, pork fried rice or white rice and a spring roll and you can get this anytime of day or evening. Our Server was Norlan, and he was excellent. The renovation of the restaurant is really amazing. Everthing is bright and brand new. Highly recommend!

We went to this establishment at 3:00 pm on Saturday. The food was mediocre and overpriced dim sum. So glad I asked the waiter about the dim sum portion, 3 Shu Mai for $9.00, 4 Steam Pork dumplings for $12.00 way overpriced, I didn't order any. Ordered the Duck,WonTon, Noodle Soup which consisted of 4 tiny pieces of duck attached to the back bone, 3 quarter sized won tons and 2/3 of the bowl with a clump of stuck noodles, served lukewarm. I didn't notice the amount of noodles until I started to eat the soup otherwise I would have refused the soup. The won tons were very good but 3 tiny sized for $12.95. When I showed the waiter the noodles, he talked to the cook and said that's the way it is served! We both had the Shrimp with Hot Garlic Sauce it was lukewarm with hard vegetables in big chunks. The Pork Fried Rice had tough grains that were either undercooked or dried out from a long exposure to air uncovered. The minuscule vegetable spring roll was the smallest under filled roll I have ever encountered, it was room temperature and not tasty. The meal was very disappointing and when compared to the food the former owner Miss Shirley served it was a loser. The place is clean and nicely furnished but the acoustics are terrible, very noisy and only 6 other customers were there. If I could rate my experience I would rate it less than a star. I doubt that I will return to eat there as I don't anticipate they will improve

My friends and I loveeee this place. We're there almost every weekend- the service is great and the food is some of the best Chinese food you'll ever have.

Very nice and clean restaurant new open in Metairie. I ordered dry pot frog legs. It is so delicious
