I feel compelled to give a poor review. In my opinion, Bamboo Wok is the absolute worst Chinese food in the city of Tallahassee. The Kung Po Chicken was finely diced breaded, deep fried, not stir fried. It is not supposed to be breaded. The peanuts were not cooked with the food. They simply sprinkled them on the top. Most places put whole dried chili peppers in, they used graded. It neither smelled nor tasted like Kung Po Chicken. The rice was simply colored. It didn't look or taste like fried rice. They obviously avoided the correct cooking process and took short cuts in the preparation of this food. You can tell a good Chinese / Asian Fusion restaurant by the number of repeat Asian patrons. I doubt many, if at all, any Asians return here. These meals appeared to be prepared with 0 pride in the culture. After the food sat in the car for a few minutes, I noticed the only thing I could smell was stale oil. I doubt they change the oil in their deep fat frier enough. This was absolute garbage. I didn't even keep it. I threw it out once home. For authentic Chinese food, go to Blossom Kitchen on Tennessee St. If you want authentic Chinese and some American Chinese foods, go to Flavor Treasure on Tennessee and Ocala. There is usually a long wait, a limited menu, and seating. Jiust order take out prior to going to FT. If you want Chinese food with a pleasant atmosphere, Chinese, go to either Masa on North Monroe or Dao Restaurant off Bannerman. Azu Lucie Ho's off Appalachee is good, depending on who is cooking that day. I have rarely been disappointed in the places I suggested.

Google
Food was made quickly and no issues with service. The food was very bland. Little sauce, few vegetables and mostly noodles. Pictured is the vegetable chow mei fun with some broccoli and really no other vegetables. The bourbon chicken was in a pretty flavourless water. After the reviews it was a let down. Honey chicken was breaded chicken pieces and no sauce or other flavour. Quite boring.

Google
I’m in a wheelchair, and my they are very gracious about bring my food to the table. They always are pleasant and efficient. This is the best Chinese food I’ve had in Tallahassee!

Google
My family of 6 loves Bamboo Wok. It’s one of our regular back up options for takeout as we can still save food for leftovers. I am particular about where to get Asian food, as I grew up in SF, CA one of the top cities in America for eating authentic asian food of all cultures. While we haven’t tried everything on the menu, if a place does not pass for the classics we don’t come back. At BW we regularly get: Pork & String Beans, Beef Broccoli, Orange Chicken, Pork Lo Mein, General Tso’s Chicken, House Fried Rice Combo and are always happy with how it turns out. Prices are great for portions, Service is always quick.

Google
Best Chinese-American food in Tallahassee. Everything I order comes out hot, fresh and fast. You can see most of the kitchen from the counter and everything looks very clean.

Google
Wonderful food, large portions, and efficient service. Highly recommend for to go orders. Edit: check your order as they do not follow instructions about food allergies. Asked multiple times to ensure allergin would not be in food and it was.

Kevin McClellan

Google
Woman behind counter did not listen to me when I ordered and after I paid , I did not have my order. She called me a liar and was rude. Then snatched part of my order out the bag and threw a drink in bag. I will never go back. I was really upset with the hole ordeal.

Google
They always handle our office lunch order with ease and great service! I highly recommend them. I'm gluten-free and use only Paleo Sweeteners. They make it easy for me to substitute items. I most often get the Roast Pork Chow Mei Fun. And put No seasoning/plain in the special instructions. That way I get all the tasty rice noodles, Chinese veggies, and Roasted Pork. I add my own Coconut Aminos instead of soy sauce.

Yelp
Freshest and most tasty Chinese food around. My brother and I love this place. Very happy to have this take-out restaurant in Tallahassee.

Shadow L.

Yelp
The owners are unfriendly to the point of making you want to walk out and forget about ever coming back to get their mediocre food. The "ambiance "is as bland as the staff. Sorry I wish I could say something positive, but not this time.

Kelly G.

Yelp
Delicious egg fu yong. Nice folks. Have ordered from there 4 times in a month. Love the shrimp rolls.
google avatar

Andre L.

Yelp
Have eaten there often. Used to be the best, but not any longer. Ordered easiest and usually tastiest of meals, chicken fried rice. No flavor at all! I will give it one more try with a favorite, and then...!
google avatar

Renee F.

Yelp
This is my go to for lunch. I pretty much get the same thing; udon noodles with a protein and I ask for it spicy or the egg plant with a protein added ginger. They never get it wrong as it is consistent food. Great takeout Asian food.

Joyous P.

Yelp
Food inconsistent. Ordered 7 dishes to fully evaluate. Ordered soup and egg rolls. Poor quality and quantity of noodles for soup. No condiments for egg rolls. Chicken dishes (3) good. Egg Foo good. Shrimp+veg poor. Pork dish poor. Beef dish tough and inadequate.
google avatar

Kris D.

Yelp
BEST take out chinese in town. Period. I recommend the curry chicken.
google avatar

Arnaldo V.

Yelp
The Moo Goo Gai Pan special with Pork Fried rice, the Wonton soup, the Boneless Pork Ribs mmmm yum! Not many good Chinese restaurants in North Florida... but this one I'll recommend!!!
google avatar

Jenny S.

Yelp
They give you generous portions of food. Always fresh. Service is quick and friendly. Restaurant seems to appear clean and well kept.
google avatar

Corrin K.

Yelp
My favorite place to get Chinese take out. Everything fried is always nice & golden, especially their sweet and sour chicken. I also love getting the sesame chicken and honey chicken. The fried rice actually has tons of pork in it unlike many places that skimp on it, and the egg rolls are the best in town!

Alex B.

Yelp
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. First my bourbon chicken with fried rice is boiled chicken thighs in vegetable stock and oil with more vegetables than meat. Not to mention my fried rice had no egg and was a yellow rice not proper fried rice. This place should be ashamed to be in business and serve people the food that they are. I informed the owner that they must have forgotten the mild spice for the general sao and he insisted that honey chicken is what I ordered. Please don't waste your money here. 25 for 2 to eat... could have went to a F rated chain restaurant and would have tasted better and been just as cost effective. DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR TASTE BUDS AND YOUR WALLET!

Sonnia C.

Yelp
Best food! Best service! Reasonable prices! Eat in or take out the best in Tallahassee!
google avatar

Gladys L.

Yelp
It is not a fancy restaurant but if you look for great take-out Chinese, this is your place. Best to order online and give it 20min. I usually order their hot and sour soup that comes in three different spice grates and their chicken fried rice.

Iris M.

Yelp
Definitely not the best Chinese food I've had and it's expensive! The cream cheese wontons were runny and sweet, never had them like that before, yuck!! The only dish I enjoyed was the orange chicken, the bourbon chicken had no flavor at all! The service was friendly and fast though.

Concerned C.

Yelp
Maybe the best Chinese takeout in town. We've tried many and this is still our go to place for Chinese takeout. We're never disappointed, the egg rolls are awesome and the egg foo young is the best ever. We've never ordered anything we didn't love.

Brett Adam K.

Yelp
If you are seeking to find the BEST chinese food in Tallahassee FL, look NO further! I am from New York City and we have some of the BEST Chinese food there, but lo and behold, I have located this little gem of a hot spot!! Bamboo Wok is by FAR even better than any Chinese Cuisine I have ever had in New York City. I have been impressed time and again as every time I eat here, I am left in AWE at the quality and taste of this majestic restaurant! When you are done trying all the rest, come try the very BEST at Bamboo Wok. I guarantee you won't regret it. Thank you Bamboo...Keep up the great WOK!!

Yelp
I stopped for a quick take out. Shredded Szechuan Pork (spicy please). They do not have hot and sour soup for lunch so I chose the egg roll. My bag was not properly packed with cutlery, napkins, duck sauce or soy sauce. The service was not warm and friendly but cool and all business. The egg roll was just Ok. Lot of crunch but I sure would have liked some duck sauce. The Szechuan pork was surprisingly good. When I first opened the container, I thought there was very little meat, however, it was buried under the nice, freshly cooked veggies. The spice was good. I'd go back again.

Yelp
Tallahassee, FL: Craving some Chinese takeout? Look no further than this local establishment. With prices rivaling those of Panda Express - but with food that is actually tasty - Bamboo Wok is a must for quick and easy takeout. Despite driving past Bamboo Wok numerous times in the last couple years, I have never ordered anything from the restaurant. Having tried their food once at a friend's house, I was unimpressed. I am glad, however, to have given them another chance. I ordered my food through Door Dash and had their food delivered. Whether that's on Door Dash, this restaurant, or my general close proximity to the restaurant, my food arrived steaming hot. I was impressed by how vegetarian friendly Bamboo Wok's menu is. I ordered the garlic broccoli which was delicious. The vegetable lo mein was similarly well made and only slightly oily. The only dish I didn't care for was the cream cheese rangoon, which was way too sweet. Having paid only about $15 - not including the Door Dash fees - I was plenty happy getting about four and a half meals from one order. Though I can't speak to the location - having ordered my food and never eaten in the restaurant - I'll definitely be ordering from here again. The garlic broccoli alone is worth it.

Yelp
Bamboo Wok is my favorite place in Tallahassee for quick Chinese food. I always get the sweet and sour chicken combo with rice and an egg roll. I also add a side of lo mein noodles. The orange chicken combo is very good as well. Everything is always fresh and hot. The chicken is cooked perfectly. Large portion sizes and great prices. My husband and I always split the combo & lo mein. The place is very clean, the food is consistently good, and they provide quick service when eating in or taking out. Great location too, right next to Publix and Nuberri. This is my go to place for Chinese!
google avatar

Shawn S.

Yelp
Horrible! They should be ashamed to serve this food. It is nowhere close to being decent Asian food. Gross stay away.
google avatar

Daniel P.

Yelp
Consistently good product. Family owned joint of this sole location and the husband/wife team overseeing it practically live here! Bathrooms exceptionally clean - modest dining area with Chinese lacquered tabletops. Personal favorites: H19, 112, 81 and H16. You can call it in, but it takes virtually no time to make it, so I order on location and walk over to either Publix or Panera for whatever else I need.
google avatar

Nikki M.

Yelp
They have the BEST egg rolls! This is the best Chinese Takeout that I've had in a while!

Yelp
Being originally from Northeast PA I was exposed to all different kinds of Asian food in Philadelphia and NYC. When I moved to Tallahassee it took me a year of trial and error to find this place. Thank goodness I did. The service is always quick and courteous. I always order to-go and it's always ready in 10 mins. The food is hot and fresh and all of the flavor profiles remind me of China Town in NYC. FAVORITES: Singapore Mei Fun (sorry I don't use the chow) General Tso, Orange Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Spicy Shrimp, Steamed Dumplings just to name a few. I don't get Chinese take out from anywhere else in town except here. Their food is like the most amazing Chinese Comfort Food. A few months ago I was picking up take out and there was a patron eating in the small dining area. He finished his meal. Got up to exit. Walked over to the counter where the owner, his wife and a staff were located and very loudly proclaimed, "thank you. This is the best food in Tallahasee." I agreed with him then. I agree with him today. Bamboo Wok is a must have if your in Tally and your craving some Chinese Take-Out.
google avatar

HM C.

Yelp
I ordered shrimp and broccoli with shrimp fried rice dinner which includes an egg roll and egg drop soup. The shrimp fried rice wasn't "fried", it had more of a cooked yellow rice consistency. The egg drop soup was kind of bland and the egg roll was extremely greasy. The shrimp and broccoli is the only thing I don't have a complaint about.

Yelp
This is our go to Chinese restaurant for take out. The menu may identical to many others that are around, but these folks do a great job with all the basics. Take out orders are fast and portions are big. The family that owns it are some of the hardest working people I have ever seen. As someone else mentioned, they are always there. If you are a frequent customer, the lady at the counter knows what you want before you can get it out of your mouth. On a regular basis, any time my wife and I called in an order, our son would ask for the steamed wontons. After a few of these orders, she always knew to add them with no effort on our part. Highly recommend for any of the usual take out Chinese food.
google avatar

Loren M.

Yelp
Decent food, not the best I've had but not the worst either. Egg rolls & Crab Rangoon always half empty
google avatar

Kelsey S.

Yelp
So far I ordered crab Rangoon and there is no crab in it, it is literally just straight cream cheese. I ordered sweet and sour chicken. This is probably the first place who hasn't just given a TON of rice which mostly is just surprising. But the dish itself was just so bare bones. My regular place back home gives it with pineapple chunks and green pepper slices for the same price. Just seriously disappointed
google avatar

Tabitha H.

Yelp
Once again, Tallahassee has robbed me of the joy Chinese takeout used to bring me. Ok so to clarify, this place has super generous portions, is clean, and is pretty fast at getting your order ready. HOWEVER, I hate hate hate getting crappy chicken pieces when I order chicken entrees. Like those stringy pieces of chicken that have one solid bit of chicken and the rest of it is like tendons or whatever the hell those hard pieces are in chicken. It really grosses me out to bite into chicken and feel that. So that's just me and only warrants a one star deduction. The other reason I dock this place a star is because the food is overly salty and the quality of ingredients is lacking.
google avatar

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
Good service, clean environment even kitchen area. Ordered shrimp fried rice which was very flavorful, rice was great in consistency, not dried. Shrimp were good size for shrimp rice which given rice good flavor. Have to try other dishes, people are friendly, not much daid. I overheard someone called in to cancel an order, the cook saltated, "no problem". All their refreshment ate neatly stored in a cooling fridge. I highly recommend.
google avatar

Jenn D.

Yelp
One of the better Chinese take outs in Tallahassee. Singapore chow mei fun is on point.
google avatar

Rob D.

Yelp
This is a safe bet for takeaway food. It doesn't have anything special on the menu that I saw, but the food was good. We've ordered from here a few times and we'll be back for sure.
google avatar

Jeff G.

Yelp
This is one of only two places here in town that my wife and I go to for Chinese food. The restaurant is clean and the food is good. They have online ordering so it is ready when you arrive. We have never had any issues at this place.

Lala B.

Yelp
I gave them 2 stars because it's a pretty solid option for Chinese food in Tallahassee..which doesn't say much. Lack of stars is because the owners and people who run this joint are awful. The woman working behind the counter is always hasty, rude, and worst of all she CONSTANTLY adds items to my order that I DID NOT ORDER over the phone. "You want egg roll with that?"..."NO!"...I show up and there's an egg roll she makes me pay for. The egg roll was subpar. On another occasion she made all of my items a size larger than I specified and when I show up and tell her she got it wrong she offers no remedy and makes you pay. Terrible business. Have some decency.

Yelp
Knowledge of where to find the best Chinese takeout is a necessity for anyone involved in managing apartment communities. In addition to being able to quickly sort through (and discard) the tons of menus that restaurants leave on people's doors, it's also important because people turn to their leasing office for advice on where to eat when they move to a new city. With that said, I don't think I can award this place as the best in the area... I can say they're better than "okay." I don't know if that description is even helpful, but it's the best I can do after sampling the beef fried rice and egg rolls. The large portion is pretty big and my entire order was less than $10. Ready in about 15 minutes, so order here and then walk over to the liquor store to blow some time.

Javier R.

Yelp
I (was) a regular customer at Bamboo Wok, but have to refrain from eating there for one reason. Today, when I went in to pick-up my to-go order I observed the owner near the back door smoking a cigarette. A few seconds later, he finishes his cigarette and comes to the register to help me. I tell him that I was there to pick-up a to-go order and he informed that the egg drop soup needed a few minutes. Instead of going to wash his hands, he immediately picks up the spatula and begins attending to the food. At that moment, I had to walk away and will never return.
google avatar

Alicia R.

Yelp
In my humble opinion, best Chinese takeout in Tallahassee. Friendly owners, clean environment, consistently delicious food, reasonable prices and super fast. They have probably an identical menu to most Chinese take out places, but they just do their food much better and it tastes fresher and more made to order.

Jordyn R.

Yelp
This is the best Chinese food in Tallahassee by far!! Always super hot and fresh! the egg rolls are absolutely to die for!! I won't get Chinese food anywhere else and it's 15 mins from me but always worth the drive, plus it's always so fresh that it's still super hot when i get home!!
google avatar

Rup R.

Yelp
My go-to Chinese take-out in Tally. They are always on time, food is way better than most of the other Chinese take out places in Tally, very reasonable, and huge portions. They have helped me survive through my last semester in school. ;-)

Thomas L.

Yelp
One of the top take out Chinese places in tally. If you like spice in your food order the Singapore chow mei fun. You get a great portion size for the cost
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
I have eaten at better places. I was disappointed. But then again, once you've had "real" Chinese food it's hard to find other places any good.

Frank S.

Yelp
We experienced this restaurant recently and I just wasn't impressed. Fried Rice wasn't much fried. Kung Pao Shrimp, medium heat, was more like mild. And the flavors overall were weak and uncommitted in terms of spices. Cashew and Chicken was just a far cry from the best I ever had that I wasn't even sure that is what I got. Weak flavor and again, in my opinion, uncommitted to spices. Lack of depth of flavor on all dishes. Don't think I want it again.

Joshua M.

Yelp
The food is good and consistent. I always get, beef and broccoli, sweet & sour pork and general Tsao chicken. Perfect place for quick Chinese good, the order is always ready with in 5-10 minutes. The lady speaks fast and waste no time taking your order but it is easy to understand her and she is friendly. I will be coming here for my Chinese food.
google avatar

Steve W.

Yelp
This was our favorite place for Chinese when we lived in Tallahassee! The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. We have always been satisfied with the quality of food. My favorite item on the menu is #1 Walnut Chicken.
google avatar

Granny P.

Yelp
Best Chinese ever, since WuyLins 0n Tennessee Street non the 70's!!!...From Soup to appetizers , great. Veggies , freshly cooked before you!
google avatar

Chelsea D.

Yelp
Want some yummy cheap Chinese take out? This place accomplishes fulfilling those cravings and the price was very reasonable considering the amount of food I received. I can't say this place stand outs food quality-wise from any other chinese take out restaurants but if I'm ever in Tallahassee again and get the craving I'd come back here. Hoping for PF Changs quality? This is not your place so don't bother.

Alexis B.

Yelp
Pretty good, my new favorite place. Only complaint is why call it fried rice when it's not Fried? It's just yellow.
google avatar

Parth S.

Yelp
So I ordered the chef special orange chicken meal with white rice, and a few other meals for my family. They were all mildly impressed by the taste of the food but thought it seemed not too fresh. My meal tasted pretty good but the chicken on top was dry and colder. They packed me a lot of chicken but didn't seem freshly made. The rice was great. But they also didn't give us our rolls or fortune cookies and that's the best parts of the meal. Won't be my first choice to go back to when looking for "ok" Chinese food in tally.
google avatar

Evelyn B.

Yelp
This place was very mediocre. You got quite a bit of food for the price, but the food was extremely average.
google avatar

Joe D.

Yelp
The here food is generally barely acceptable. Like they're not even trying. We tried it once and weren't impressed. Gave it another shot and were similarly displeased. From then in, my boyfriend refused to go. I'm usually more forgiving than he is so I figured I'd give it one last shot. No dice. It's really sad, too, because it's so close to us. I'm not giving it a one star rating mainly because, while the food did suck, it's not like it gave us food poisoning or anything.
