Portland’s Filipino Restaurants Are Fundraising for the Lapu Lapu Car Attack Victims | Eater Portland

"Participating in the May 5 fundraising meryenda to support families of victims of the Lapu Lapu attack and contributing Filipino dishes to a shared menu that includes items such as pandesal, calamansi cream puffs, empanadas and longanisa. Co-owner Geri Leung explains the choice of the event’s format and name: the word meryenda is “a nostalgic piece of our culture that we think resonates personally with a lot of Filipinos everywhere,” and “The heart of it is sharing a meal with friends and family and catching up.” Leung also says, “Our personal motivation is to help in the best way we know how, which is to dedicate our time and resources to provide food. We think it’s our natural response when we see our community hurting,” and recalls a personal connection to Vancouver: “Vancouver was a place we’d frequent often as they had more Filipino stores and restaurants than our college town. We have a personal tie to the city and have friends there.”" - Harry Cheadle

This is by far the best Indian tiffin service in the Vancouver Lower Mainland area. They deliver hot meals every day, the spice level is reasonable, and they have a light hand when it comes to oil and cream, so it is not like restaurant food but closer to home-cooked meals. They are also reasonably priced and offer many varieties such as Jain, satvic, and vegan options. Most importantly, they have a very varied menu for a vegetarian-only tiffin service. The staff is very responsive via email, and they will adjust delivery dates, etc, as per your schedule. A special shoutout to Shailesh, who is very responsive and understanding, and who always delivers my meals with a smile on his face, come rain or hail. I would highly recommend Bamon’s to anyone wanting great Indian food that is fresh and priced for all income brackets. Bamon’s- please don’t change your current chef (December 2025). They have been whipping up some delicious meals. Thank you

The best part of the food is that it’s fresh and healthy. They also provide a link for tracking the delivery guy. I would recommend trying out their Sattvic option which I feel is the best. I am very happy and satisfied with their food. Their sweets on Monday are very tasty especially the cakes :)

This tiffin service has one of the worst customer service out of 5 tiffin services that I have tried in Vancouver. The food is also average. I called them to pause my tiffin for some time and they told me to explain the same thing again in the email. They would read the email and then fix the issue. They take almost 7 days to reply on email. Every time I call them they ask me to explain the issue in email. What’s the point of having a customer service number when I have to email every time. I had my tiffin paused. Its been 2 weeks since I called and emailed them that I want to resume my tiffin but it was only this week that they resumed it. They sent me one meal and then emailed me that my tiffin is expired. I had more meal credits available. They took 2 weeks to resume my tiffin and then told me that the time to use your meals is expired. I called them yesterday regarding the same thing and they told me to email them explaining it again. This is a disaster. Just don’t put your customer service number as a feature on your website when you cannot help the customers.

Ordered from Bamon for our office Christmas party, and it was a hit! They customized the menu both for our tastes, and for the budget. Definitely our go-to company for event catering.

I signed up recently and ordered for a day to try it out. I am so glad I did, I am now a monthly subscriber. Excellent quality, great choices, always a variety, and I am so happy I have signed up! Fresh and home cooked feel.

Bamon’s Kitchen always delivers on great tasting and unique food, both on the tiffin and their newly launched UberEats takeout (or pickup yourself). We bought 8 items from the take-out menu to eat in the comfort of our home in Burnaby and we loved them all. Veggie burger combo, Philly cheez sandwich (my favorite, see photo), Gujarati samosa, Punjabi samosa, Manchurian + fried rice, noodles with veggie pork, masala fries, and chilli chicken drumsticks (also incredible). We had a wonderful variety meal, in great quantities, that tasted so delicious and was so fresh. We will definitely be buying all these items again, and we still have more than 2/3rd of the menu to try! Bamon’s Kitchen is a new family favorite 🎉

Google
A wonderful tiffin service at an absolutely reasonable price. Their weekly menus have so much variety, the meals are freshly cooked and packed with so much flavour. Highly recommend this tiffin service!

This tiffin service is an absolute disaster. The food came stone cold, tasteless, and felt like it had been sitting around for days. Complete waste of money and a total scam. If you care about your health, your time stay FAR away from this pathetic food service.
