Ban Mekkala

What a truly amazing and incredible time we have just had at Ban Makkala. We were a party of 11 (parents, children and grandchildren) and from the moment we arrived and were met by the awesome villa manager Fai and her team and saw the villa for ourselves, we knew this would be the holiday of a lifetime … and it certainly was. The accommodation was beautiful and truly 5 star and the staff were so effortlessly polite, efficient and such lovely people. We ate in quite a bit because the food was so incredible and would recommend you to take advantage of Paula’s superb cooking. Special mentions to the other members of the team, Pin, Tung and Coco. We have only been home a day and are missing it already.

We had a fabulous 8 night stay here with ten people, including two children, for a family gathering and 50th birthday. The property exceeded our expectations and the service provided by Fai and her team was truly superb. Fai organised activities for us efficiently and accommodated our last minute plans. The food prepared by the chef for breakfast and dinner was delicious and beautifully presented. The grounds were well maintained and kept immaculate. The swimming pool is huge and had a variety of spaces and depths, including a swim up bar. The location was a bit of a drive from the main shopping and entertainment areas on the island but the upside was it was very quiet and peaceful. The only negatives were that the jacuzzi was not going and the subwoofer for the sound system in the main lounge was broken, resulting in poor sound, and the sound system in the master bedroom was not going either. However, the sound system by the pool was reasonably good. The villa’s technology is a bit dated but the architecture and aesthetic is high quality, well designed and comfortable. Overall the stay represented great value for money and we had a very enjoyable and memorable holiday. We highly recommend Ban Mekkhala to others looking for a place to get a group together for a relaxing holiday that is luxurious with excellent service but won’t break the bank. We definitely did not want to leave and would return in a heart beat.

The villa was perfect for a family of 10 with 2 small children. |Cannot speak highly enough of Fai and her staff, who went above and beyond to ensure our every request was satisfied. |Don't leave the Villa, as the chef is world-class, and the authentic Thai meals at the Villa are unbeatable. |Pool area is perfect, and our family spent most days hanging out in this area. |Ensure Fai books masseuses at the Villa daily, as it's a real luxury.|We will definitely book this Villa again if we come back.

An all round excellent stay. The staff were the nicest people I have ever met on holiday. You ask, they get it done instantly. The views are amazing. The location is exceptionally. The meals they prepared for us was tasteful and absolutely the best meals we had on the island. Thank you to Fai and her team, they truly went above and beyond and made our stay one for the family history book.

Fai, and the entire staff made us feel welcomed and relaxed from the minute we arrived to this beautiful, private haven. It felt as if we were in a 5 star resort. The food was top notch and the service was exceptional. I am sad to leave such a beautiful place but will be happy to come again!

The villa was gorgeous and the villa staff were truly amazing. Fai and her team were all exceptional. We had x 3 meals at the villa exceptional food. 1 meal was for my 50th birthday - food , service 5 star.

Fai and her team made us feel right at home. Their service was impeccable, they were so attentive to every detail. Food was AMAZING! I don’t think we will be able to match this Christmas holiday. Thank you Fai and team so much. We will miss you!

The staff is amazing they are super kind and friendly they provide you with delicious food and the rooms are CLEAN they clean it all the time for you overall it was an amazing experience would go agian I had such a fun time here
