I was craving Thai food tonight. I looked at the reviews here and saw it was pretty decent.
I walked and the place was getting full. Since I was by myself, they asked if I would like to sit in the bar area. When I sat down, I felt like a two year old sitting at the dinner table, so I asked for a table. They said that they would not be able to sit me at a table because it was too busy. So I asked to order take out.
I placed my order for Spicy Basil Chicken, Fresh Spring Roll with Shrimp, and Mango & Sticky Rice with extra sauce. I went back to my car to get my phone so I can write my review. When I came back in there was a plate and glass of water on the table so I decided to eat like a two year old tonight.
The spring rolls came first. It came with a really cool presentation. There was peanut as well as sweet and sour sauce on the side. I liked the rolls because they included cilantro with all the vegetables and rice noodles. My only complaint was that the rolls were not rolled tight enough and fell apart when you bit into them. The peanut sauce was served warm, which I didn't care for. It needed a little more sweetness and heat. The sweet and sour sauce was good and had some heat to it. I decided to combine the two sauces and it turned out alright
The Spicy Basil Chicken came out shortly after my appetizer. There were nice big leaves of basil, chicken slices, red and green bell peppers, onions, and red pepper flakes. I have been to other restaurants and their flavors are a lot stronger. This dish was not bad but need more oyster sauce. The peppers were perfectly cooked and had lots of crunch.
As I was eating, servers, hosts and bus boys kept bumping into my bar stool which got old after a while.
The dessert is what will change my rating from a three star to four
The last time I ordered this dessert was in Idaho. They served it with purple rice and there was hardly any sweetness to it. This dessert also had purple rice but this dessert had more sweetness. The sauce was a runny coconut milk. The mango was the not ripe enough and was a little sour, which I didn't mind. It went really well with the extra sweetness of the extra sauce that I ordered. Good thing I liked the dessert. They get four stars.
