If you’re looking for a unique space to grab a smoothie, latte, a quick bite and do some remote work, Banana Dang Coffee is a small family-owned café in downtown Oceanside that is a local favorite; especially with the younger crowd. Located just along the Coast Hwy, this spot is famous for their awesome selection of “Happy Toast” menu options and their smoothies (all made with bananas & almond milk). The interior is very simplistic and has a few counter-seats, table seats and lounge chairs in the rear. They showcase a small diverse collection of painted artwork (for sale) and the ambiance is pretty modern-hipster (alt pop & rock music playing). They have a clean bathroom and also free WiFi for customers and although the seating isn’t super-cozy, but it works for a quick sit to relax. One con is that they have a limited amount of power outlet access points. The customers service is average, but not dissatisfactory (younger staff who are always chatting amongst themselves). They are friendly, but not super-attentive; just average. Where this place shines is their TOAST BAR MENU that is super tasty! It’s simple, but there’s something for everyone to love! I recommend the Crunchy Honey, Nutty Banana and Choco Toast. Their smoothie menu is super as well! Boasting great options such as : Nutty Dang, Green Tea Dang and the Vanilla Dang. Overall, this gem is a place that you’ll want to visit just for their unique specialty menu and for a less-crowded option to doing remote work.

Visiting LA with the intention of trying a new coffe shop and omg google maps suggested me this place! [5/5] Dirty Banana Mylk: blended to perfection, not too sweet, well balanced! I wish they have this in Sacramento but well done!

OVERALL EXPERIENCE: I've had this on my list to try for a few months. We live in LA, so when we came South, I had to make a pitstop! Was very happy with the Dirty Banana Mylk! I wish there was a closer location to LA or Long Beach. AMBIANCE: Noise level is average. It was a bit dark and felt stuffy inside. A few tables and counter seating near the window. ORDERED: [5/5] Dirty Banana Mylk: blended to perfection and not too sweet! [4/5] Banana Latte: banana flavor was very light in this, but still good. They have small bites, but we didn't try any of it. SERVICE: Service was good. On our visit, there was a parade, so staff appeared a bit distracted, but service was still quick. First time in to try it out. Great help at the counter to help me decide. My kind of vibe. Found out they started in Rincón, Puerto Rico… did not tell them that I once backed a rental car into a tree there. Allegedly.

Cute shop offering a unique flavor of coffee, banana! The banana latte was light with subtle notes of banana. This place has been on my list for some time, definitely worth stopping to check out. They also offer pastries that look delicious.

Excellent drinks! Smoothies (Nutty Dang) was an absolute treat and wife got the banana latte, we both loved our drinks. The toast are also on point—cinnamon (so tasty and sweet but not overdone) and green fire (thick layer of guacamole, they don’t hold back-with the perfect amount of kick!). Top it off with some great service and down to earth service and kindness! Add this to your list of places for must try and regularly visit!

I ordered a dang berry smoothie, it was delicious. This is my first time at this place. The toasts looked great however I did not try it. I did order a cinnamon roll to go. Next time I come down I'll definitely try the toast. Service was fast! Staff was busy working. It was busy early morning. Definitely recommend!

I was working in the area and happened to pass by this coffee shop. It was cute; the baristas were very friendly. It wasn't too busy when I was there I stopped by around 8 on a week day. I ordered the Iced Banana Latte I think I had really high expectations. It wasn't bad I was just expecting more of the banana flavor and it tasted more like a regular latte. I'll give it another try and maybe try a different drink.

Really cute shop in Oceanside. We were nearby and wanted some coffee and refreshments. You can find street parking nearby. Service was top notch and the interior was really nicely decorated. Loved the banana theme. We got a coffee with banana milk and a mango banana smoothie. I think our smoothie was $10, one of the more pricier smoothies around the area. Overall, a really cute place to grab and drink and spend some time with friends or by yourself as there is plenty of seating inside.

They have the best peanut butter smoothie! It's creamy with a great peanut butter flavor. I order it every time I come here. It's a cute spot with cute merch for sale. It's always busy when I visit on the weekends.

With a name like Banana Dang, it better be Dang Good and happy to report that it's actually Dang Delicious. I was recommended to try the Banana Latte and happy that I did. With it's funny and curious logo, I loved the drink menu, breakfast choices and overall vibe. The service is attentive and accommodating. Worth checking out when ya in the area.

Sweet place! We were waiting for our restaurant to open and noticed this nice place across the street. Signature banana latte as on the picture is lovely, especially when hot and with almond milk... doppio had great crema but b-i-t-t-e-r.... we're picky espresso drinkers and it took me awhile to get it down to a state where it's both creamy and smooth. In short, go forvthe coffee drinks and especially what the joint is named after. The banana syrup they create is from real bananas and not something corporate. Lastly, the shop is cozy and inviting.

I came here two mornings in a row! The shaken banana was fantastic. I was worried the banana would be overpowering but somehow it was just the right amount of flavor. The second morning, I ordered the espresso with the strawberry puree. At first, I did not like it much but once it was mixed together, this was also delicious. I highly recommend stopping in!!!!

I found this shop through IG foodie recommendations and added it to my list of things to try. I was meeting a friend in Oceanside after work for dinner one day and made it my mission to get to the shop before closing after work. And thankfully, I made it! It's located in between O'Side Sports Bar & Grill and allmine on S Coast Hwy in Oceanside. There's only street parking around the area which could be very difficult to find during lunch and dinner rush hours. I got the Mango Dango. While I was waiting, I started to wonder if I chose the right drink as I was tired LOL. Should have gotten a banana coffee. But when I got my drink and took a sip, the drink was amazing! It was very smooth with a nice sweetness that wasn't too much and no sourness to it at all! Tarty drinks aren't a favorite of mine. Definitely not regretting my decision anymore after that first sip. My friend got the Purple Dang which was an acai smoothie. It wasn't tarty compared to other places that made acai items. Yum! Bananas were emphasized in the two drinks (hence the shop name), making them much creamier. Definitely enjoyed both drinks especially mine! If I'm ever in the area again, I'm going to try that banana latte as it sounded unique and equally as delicious as their smoothies. Need that energy to continue driving north or back south to where I live!

One of my favorite places. Whenever I am in the area (or even remotely close as I live up in NorCal) I make it a mission to stop at Banana Dang. I found it on a whim while looking for a local spot while we were traveling and cannot recommend it enough. Personal favorites include the Dirty Banana Mylk, Nutty Dang, and Crunchy Honey toast. I typically order for pickup and my order is always ready on time and the staff is super friendly. They also sell their beans and have amazing merch (writing this in my Banana Dang t-shirt). The history of the shop is also super cool - take a look at their website! My only complaint is that I wish I lived closer!

Always a go-to for coffee! Banana milk is one of my favorites to get when possible with coffee, so the dirty banana milk is perfect for this. I felt like switching it up this last time and went for the banana latte. Honestly just as good! Still could taste delicious coffee with just a hint of banana. I also randomly love their Vietnamese coffee here. I don't think you could go wrong with any choice on the menu. Staff is friendly and they usually give great recommendations! Plenty of seating inside as well. Parking is a bit difficult as this is right on pch, but usually you can find street parking if you are lucky.

The smoothies were delicious! Got the radical and the mango dango. They carry split house vegan baked goods and some other goodies. We will definitely be trying banana dang again! They also add espresso to smoothies, which is awesome. I'm always looking for a healthy smoothie with VEGAN protein and coffee! Instead of juggling 3 drinks! lol All in all, try it! It's worth it

On the busy Oceanside street. Look for the yellow signage and the banana. We ordered the nutty dang and the mango dango smoothies. $17.25. Service is quick and easy here. Their toasts smell and look quite fun, but no hungry enough for such items, yet. The straws are actual Bamboo reeds, that's sweet. The mango tango is slightly mangoish. The nutty dango steals the show, nice and peanutty. The nutty one was the better of the two for sure.

DIRTY BANANA MYLK. Nuff said. I ordered online and it was on time! It was nicely sweet and not too sweet.

Cool vibe place. First time here. Love the artwork and great drink options to choose from. I had the golden chai latte with turmeric. It tasted just right, pretty foam top and reasonably priced. Nice employs my order came out quickly.

The Nutty Dang is life changing! So delicious and filling! Love the consistency and that it kept that way for a long time. Will definitely make it a point to come here anytime I'm in Oceanside or Vista!

I bought 3 Vietnamese coffees and 1 banana latte. I loved the banana latte but Vietnamese coffee was not like traditional flavor. It tasted like plain black coffee with condensed milk at the bottom. Service was slow. I think for these 3 drinks I waited over 25 minutes. The ambiance of the shop was nature-y. I do love the bamboo straws in place of plastic straws or paper ones. This shop practices being environmentally conscious which is awesome for our sea animals.

Mmmmm. When in the mood for a treat, which let's face it I every day in my book, I love to get a nutty dang smoothie and nutty toast from Banana Dang. Every one here on staff is super friendly and my smoothie (I think I added coffee to this one but can't remember exactly.) was made to perfection. The ambiance is casual and quirky. They have bench bar seating. The only thing that seems to be an issue is parking? There is street parking though. I like to park west of PCH, walk over to Banana Dang and then walk around a bit.

I ordered the Banana Toast. It came with peanut butter, honey and sliced bananas . My daughter had the vegan cinnamon roll. We both loved our food. Next time I come to California I want to try the avocado toast, and a smoothie there as well. The service was fast and there was a lot of cool merchandise, but since I was in a hurry, I didn't get to look as long as I would have liked. The ambience was cool, not crowded.

Went to this awesome spot recently while we were visiting family and they go here regularly and man I am SO glad we went here! Small size cafe with cool art and a few spots to hang and sit. Went here a bunch of times- super consistent goodness. I had mango dango and purple dang smoothies, both were sheer perfection and slightly more reasonably priced compared to other places I've been. My iced latte with almond milk came standard with 2 espresso shots (I hate when it's only 1 and not strong enough) and tasted great. Avocado toast and other options come on thick large piece of fresh bread and were way more creative and beat flavor wise any I've had before! Service is quick, friendly and smiles. Highly recommended.

We picked up some drinks/food for pick up and were happy that it was ready upon arrival. The workers seemed very friendly from the limited interaction we had with them. Here is a breakdown of our order: 1) Nutty Banana Toast - SO good! I couldn't stop eating it! I would definitely get this again and again! 2) Choco Toast - This one wasn't as good as the Nutty Banana, and was just very average tasting. We wouldn't get it again. 3) Iced Banana Mocha with Oat milk - This was just okay, the espresso tasted a little burnt, but we did like the banana/mocha taste together 4) Iced Banana Latte with Oat milk - The latte was very bad. We ended up throwing it away, it was undrinkable. It tasted like water and we couldn't taste the espresso at all. We were shocked it tasted so thin as it was supposed to have oat milk in it. 5) Nutty Dang Smoothie - This was the star of the show! We both loved it so much and was hard not to drink it all right away!! Overall, we enjoyed the non-coffee items the most. We wouldn't recommend this place as the top coffee place in the area, but would recommend it for their smoothies and food. It was a fun place to try and we would come back for the smoothie in a heartbeat!

Vegan...found this place via Yelp looking for vegan and something different. Choice of vegan Monkey bread or raspberry cheese danish. Chose the monkey bread as it looked more filling, good warmed. Drink: Hot Decaf Beetroot Latte with almond milk (oat & soy also options). Cute pink foam heart, interesting mellow earthy flavor, not sweet. Together a filling breakfast. Parking on long the busy highway, only a few spots. Quick friendly service, fairly empty late morning with choice of high & low seating. Interesting funky original artwork on the walls. They obviously have a major Banana theme in their menu, which is very appealing so I'll be back to try the banana mocha or banana latte. I'm not a coffee drinker so the selection of alternative beverages is nice. Not fancy, very casual. Only 1 bathroom in back for paying customers.

This is the coffee shop for the Bill Murray types and other adults who have not let go of their ability to have fun. Really fun concept and amazing smoothies and coffees, I don't order the food often but it is always good too. The interior design is clubhouse sheik, super fun and they have games and books and a pretty decent selection of unique and cool merchandise. You can walk in and stroll out feeling lighter and more energized from the "vibe" here. Double thumbs up, dang good all the way!

Wow! This place is so cool! If you love bananas this is your spot! They offer smoothies, coffee, tea and more! There is bananas in almost everything which is super unique and fun to try. They offer coffee with bananas in it and wow was it delicious. So different but surprisingly incredible! The banana milk was super yummy as well. After you get over the odd coffee/banana mix you'll really enjoy it. Really enjoyed this very unique place, great concept, and delicious drinks. Can't wait to come back!

A funky little spot in Oceanside with a love for Bananas! I was really intrigued by the menu and had to check it out. This coffee shop is really cute, with lots of colorful decor and games to play if you plan on staying. I ordered the Banana Mocha Frappe, and it was just what I was hoping for. Fresh banana, chocolate, and coffee all came through strong in this frappe. The consistency was great too! I also tried their chocolate Banana bread, which was really moist, with plenty of banana flavor and chocolate chips. My husband got the Banana Latte and we both thought it needed a bit more banana flavor. The service was great and we played Connect 4 while we waited for our coffee.

BANANAS FOR BANANA THINGS (4 stars) Daannnngg!!!! When I saw they had banana flavored drinks, I had to take a sip for myself! I am a lover of banana flavored stuff. Not everyone's flavor but def one of mine. They also roast their own beans! Their beans have different profiles! - Drinks/Pastries: good - Price: fair - Service: good - Ambiance: nothing fancy BANANA CHOCOLATE FRAPPE ($8.50) - it was a toast up between a dirty banana mylk, banana latte, mango dang, or this and I chose this. Although it's winter, overcast, and cold outside I wanted to try the frappe. Even though my heart was calling real hard for the banana latte. My order did not disappoint and I enjoyed a cold beverage on a cold day. You def taste more of the chocolate than the banana but the banana is present. That I be a lover of banana I wish the banana had the strongest presence in flavor over the chocolate. Since this was a blend of banana, chocolate, mocha I didn't feel it was important to notate which bean they used since it would have been hard to find the profiles under the other flavors. HIGHLY RECOMMEND CHOCOLATE BANANA BREAD (~$4) - their banana bread is very moist and tasty. I can't stand stale and crumbly banana bread but their take was moist, soft, and delicious. I went overboard with the chocolate banana combo in this order but I wanted to try it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Will get the banana latte next time for sure!!! Now the question would be hot or iced? Ha. JABA APPROVED. Until the next sip.

It's worth the walk up from the beach to check this place out. The banana theme is fun. The flavor doesn't overwhelm the coffee (you can smell it more than anything, which is actually very pleasant; like banana candy) and the coffee itself is very nice and smooth. Get the cinnamon toast, it fills you up like a thick cut of French toast --minus the syrup.

I completely forgot we had coffee here until I saw my suggestions for places to write reviews. I need to find their recipe for making banana syrup. The toasts here are a bit too thick IMO but the coffee here, the coffee here is great. Come for the coffee. Try the banana-flavored ones! I mean, why else would you come to Banana Dang?

Cool little coffee joint with fun merch and local art on the walls. The menu is a good size, and the coffee itself is worth coming back for. Friendly staff makes it a great atmosphere.

Banana drinks are definitely a must-try for a banana lovers!! But not a big fan of the non-banana coffees... Personally, I love all things banana milk so I was excited to come here. I got the Dirty Banana Mylk-- it was very thick, rich in banana flavor, and yummy! Also, the overall vibes were super cute and artsy! Sadly, my family's coffee orders (non-banana coffee items) tasted sour and acidic, probably from slightly spoiled milk or creamer if we had to guess. Additionally, pricing was slightly on the higher side for some items like the $8.75 Dirty Banana Mylk so I probably wouldn't end up getting that on the regular.

I saw this cute cafe on google and decided to visit myself! The overall aesthetic is cute and fun, there are plenty of merchandise you can purchase (I got the bamboo straw for $2. Thought it was sturdy enough to be used multiple times but broke very easily, although it was cute, it was definitely not worth the money) I ordered a sweet latte and asked for oat milk with an extra charge, but received whole milk instead. I didn't bother asking for a new drink, bc they seemed pretty busy so just went with it :') , but it was still good. The nutty banana toast was super delicious, and served with a generous amount of banana! Would give it another try next time, enjoyed it!

I drive by this coffee shop all the time. Never tried it until today. I was craving a warm coffee. We happen to be passing this place. So we decided to try it out. It's nice, and small & cute. I would go back.

get their shaken espresso! i cannot urge you enough to get their oatmilk shaken espresso with puréed bananas! it will change your life as it has changed mine! i also recommend using their app to order ahead and take it with you while you walk around! it can get pretty busy here and trust me, you'd want multiple of these drinks!

Nice little Cafe in Oceanside. They have smoothies, coffee, peanut butter and banana toast and other types of toast. They also carry store merchandise such has hats, shirts, stickers and pins. The servers are very nice and the price is reasonable. They have street parking in front of the cafe and seats are very limited. Definitely a great spot to do some work or studying. Looking forward to stopping by again.

I am not a self-proclaimed foodie by any means. But their spicy chili banana avocado toast had me intrigued. It was a combination of foods that I was not expecting would go well together. Not only does it work, it was delicious. And a huge serving at that. Paired it with an iced banana latte. I feel like you can't go wrong with any of their toasts. So good. Will defo be back.

Not only amazing smoothies and breakfast but such a kind staff. I came in here last month so sad ordering their chocolate banana bread and whether it was an accident or not they gave me two and it genuinely made my day. Such a great spot with even better tasting food!

Drove 40 mins to Banana Dang and arrived at 4:40pm. The employee refused to take my food order saying they close in 20 minutes. When I asked why they stop serving before closing time, her answer was "Because we gotta get outta here".

Traffic was horrible heading into San Diego so we pulled off to try to find some coffee. A great stop in Oceanside and so happy we stopped. They brew their own coffee and the staff is super nice. I read a review about the Chai Latte with Oatmilk and it was on right. It was the best chai I have had in a while. Highly recommend it. The toast they have is super thick and can easily be shared. The hot mango comes with cream cheese and spicy mango spread. Really tasty. Not a bad detour.

This place is awesome! I sure love banana anything and everything, so I had to get a banana cinnamon smoothie. You can "make it dirty" which adds espresso. The whole place is fun! I can't wait to return and try some food and another banana concoction.
