Top Philly Summer Treats to Beat Heat Waves | Eater Philly

"Mousse and milkshakes are on deck at this popular West Philadelphia dessert spot. Its original mousse is a crowd-pleaser made with creamy mousse and Chessman’s crackers, or you can go big with its Fruity Pebbles milkshake, which combines vanilla ice cream and multi-berry extracts, and is topped with whipped cream." - George Banks-Weston

I recently visited and tried the banana milkshake and sweet potato mousse. The place was super clean, and the orders came out quickly, which I really appreciated. The banana milkshake was decadent—so creamy and delicious! It was a bit sweeter than I would typically go for, but I still enjoyed it as a fun, indulgent treat. I didn’t get a chance to try the sweet potato mousse, but the person I bought it for really loved it, so I’ll take their word for it! Overall, I think this place definitely lives up to the hype. Worth checking out for a sweet treat!

Banana Mouse is hit or miss. I went 2 times and they weren't open during business hours. 3rd time was a charm and they were open but unfortunately didn't have any mousse, only shakes 😩 I almost called it quits because I have a 3 strike rule. I happened to be nearby again and stopped by and was able to order the famous banana mousse that I've been trying so hard to get. It was OKAY, not bad not great just...okay. I don't really recommend the mousse but idk maybe the milkshakes are better 🤷🏾‍♀️

Stopped in with my 3 kids . I made an order in the kiosk and accidentally ordered the wrong flavor for on of my kids. When I asked for her to switch to a different flavor she told me she couldn't because it would mess with inventory. So I offered to return the item and purchase the correct flavor and she then told me the POS system would not do it. Truly the weirdest customer service experience ever

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Banana Mousse in Philly, and I must say, it was a culinary delight! Their milkshakes were absolutely incredible the most delicious I've ever tasted! I went with my family, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We can't wait to go back and try all the other flavors on the menu. Highly recommended!

The store was clean and the woman behind the counter was very nice. I ordered ice cream in a cone. The ice cream was average but the cone was horrific. It had a smell and the taste was disgusting. It tasted like it had chemicals and was probably stale. Definitely not worth the price. I hope I don’t get sick.

My Daughter has been begging for the last 2 weeks to try Banana Mousse and I must say they did not disappoint. The place was clean workers were very friendly I tried the mini Strawberry cheesecake and it was 10/10 My daughter wanted the cookies and cream mousse but there was an issue with the mousse for that one so she decided to try the cookies and cream milkshake instead at no extra cost! Thanks so much Banana Mousse until next time

Stopped in for a quick snack and was so unsatisfied. Mousse is mousse I’ll give them that, however the cookies inside my mousse were so stale! The cookie crumbles were stale. It was bad. Won’t be back. For the price it was not worth it at all.

Yelp
I came here excited to compare banana pudding in the city and have to say I was unimpressed. $7 for a tiny cup of "mousse" and $1 for a container that I didnt even need. The service was not applicable because no one spoke to me. I would rather go to Sweet Nina's in Reading next time because it's dependable and bigger and service is nicer.

Yelp
Been wanting to stop by for some dessert action. They have some tables and chairs outside but none inside. There are two self-serve kiosks that makes ordering super easy and they already have the flavors made up in ready to go containers, so as soon as we ordered, we got our orders and out the door we went. We tried the original, the chocolate and the happy birthday. Both the flavors and the portions were good. I think I personally prefer the magnolia bakery banana pudding flavor profile a tad bit better.

Yelp
I'm not 100% what mousse is compared to regular ice cream but damn it is good. A little pricey for a milkshake around $10-$12 but you gotta treat yourself sometimes. I went with the banana pudding milkshake it was to die for

Yelp
$8 for a 1/2 cup of banana pudding :( it was good. I prefer sweet Nina's in Reading terminal, they give you about 1 cup of pudding for the same price.
