Very rude employee. I tried to return a defective purse I purchased on line, I had already confirmed with an online agent in advance. But they refused to process the return! Pool management and really rude attitude!!

I went inside to buy something and the lady who rung me up just looked at me with a sour face. Didn’t say ‘hi how are you?’ or even ‘hi’. Looked at me like I was going to cause trouble in the store. DON’T buy from this location. Rude and unprofessional workers in there.

Carried items with a total of $300 just to be told Cash Only!!! Which century we’re living in? Who would come to banana which is not cheap with tons of cash….so silly…wasted 30 minutes for nothing

Great deals, clean, friendly staff, and it is rare to be able to make a quick stop in a store like this. Usually I have to dig through a lot of stuff to find that one amazing bargain. Not true here. I can get in and find what I want quickly and go about my day. It deserves more than 5 stars.

With so few clothing stores in Astoria, this is my pick when shopping for professional looking clothing when I don't want to spend hours picking through the racks at Marshall's on Northern Blvd. There's almost always some kind of sale going on, and if you enroll in the Banana Republic Rewards Program you'll also almost always have a few additional bucks off when you get to the register. I think the men's selection here is just a little bit better than women's. If you're in need of a new dress shirt or pair of pants, you'll do well. If you want to score a major deal here, come in just as the seasons are about to shift and you'll have your pick of high quality clothes at a steal. Store wise, it's mostly pretty well organized with the exception of the sale racks, which are chaotic, but that's to be expected. Be sure to scan the tags on clothing, the price listed is rarely the final price. At certain times of year they'll offer you coupons for $25 off your next $50 purchase if you come on certain dates, which is definitely worthwhile.

ORISHA OR KATISHA -If you're not fat black or Latino don't go here. It's embarrassing because I have Latina in me and I was treated like CRAP so was my husband because we came in dressed in a suit and high heels. I thought this was an all inclusive brand. We bought a shirt at the Harold square location and our hotel was closer to this location so we came here to return a shirt that had makeup on it prior because the other employee didn't check it from when we left. Banana republic needs a reform in their employees they shouldn't have sold us a shirt that was ruined. We simply asked for help and the Orisha or katisha someone's baby momma at the register didn't really seem at all interested in helping us and she's supposed to be the "general manager." I never encountered being discriminated against for dressing up and looking nice. I guess people are jealous it would help if she went to the gym to take out all that aggression she has built but. Being overweight can cause unhappiness, she looked like she was on her 5th life. I thought I was at the EBT store for a moment. Very very very low class, wasn't expecting that from banana republic at all. The store looked ran down too. So if you're not black or Latino and don't go here. I wish more ppl would care to take an etiquette class at least for the clientele. I get my husband had an attitude but the Orisha or Katisha was disinterested and he was only reacting to her nasty behavior. & we asked for her name and she just scribbled on it- like we were just trying to get her name so we could tell the other store that we tried to return it. Instead she scribbled her name. My husband walked off because he couldn't comprehend the demented "general manger." I stayed and was pleasant and STILL bought a shirt and in the end katisha or Orisha said "you get what you give" and I said excuse me? She repeated herself and I said "I wasn't the one being rude" and she said "you two are no longer welcome in this store" I was already on the way out it was just disgusting and a slob attitude. & they wonder why racism hasn't gone away? look at the way you act, just because you're lazy fat and unhappy don't take it out on the successful ppl. I'll never go here ever again. Orisha or katisha idk her name but she wrote it in here. I guess she didn't get a GED can't spell her name? Anyways disgusting behavior don't go here if you are successful you'll get treated completely different.

Customer service is very bad here. Employees seem disgruntled. The store manager is quite unpleasant and certainly doesn't treat customers well. It also seems this comes all the way from the top of the corporate chain. My experience: Tried getting some clothes there Black Friday. Didn't have my size so they suggested to send pants to my home and I could return if they don't fit. Cashier gave me misleading information about return date. I believed her and didn't bother to check the fine-print. When I went to return my item, the employee and the store manager were very unpleasant. It wasn't possible to have a human discussion with them - they slapped a screen in my face and said "it says here I can't help you." After some unpleasant back and forth (where they treated me like I'm trying to con them) the manager finally said he could offer store credit as a way to resolve their error. I replied that had he started with that I would have considered but by that point I'm probably not going to purchase anything from BR again. I was eventually told my pants was considered an online purchase and they wouldn't help me unless I went online. While online they weren't as rude as the in-person store manager was, it seems the lack of ability to treat their customers right comes from the top. "Best I can do is offer you a $25 in-store coupon" - lol I'm not going to be coming back so that's irrelevant. BR won this battle. They will keep my little bit of money from pants that don't fit me which I never wore... Seems they don't realize that they lost all future sales from me, and that was 100% preventable - and pretty easily so. Not sure how in the minds of corporate managers this adds up as a net positive for the company. Seems BR corporate is a blind, old dinosaur and I wouldn't be surprised if they will soon go extinct.

I have been to this store exactly twice. The first time only because there was a 60% off sign in the window and I did buy a couple of items, but the full retail prices in this place are outrageous. The second time I made an online purchase of one item of jewelry (only because there was a huge Black Friday sale) that I opted to pick up in-store so I wouldn't have to pay for shipping. Both times the staff were incredibly rude. It must be a really miserable place to work because everyone had an attitude. The place wasn't crowded either time and I always give retail workers the benefit of the doubt because customers can be awful, but these individuals were downright nasty for no apparent reason. I don't think I'll be making a third visit to this store anytime soon. There are much better options for shopping on Steinway where staff are courteous to their customers.

The manager was rude . I wish I werr white not brown . Then she would have take my return . I was too busy with work . Only 5 days late to return. She dishonored it . She could have , but you know they don't like brown .

The staff has always been very helpful and pleasant. When I try on clothing and ask their opinion they always tell me what they think. If the item looks good and fits well they let me know. If an item is not the right size or not a good style or color for me, they let me know that too. And I have never had a problem with returns or exchanges. Buying clothing is a two way street, if necessary for the customer to ask questions the staff is there to advise and assist.

Mens selection is below old navy level of clothe.... It is just a con brf is just wack.

i had no clue a banana republic factory store was on steinway in astoria as its all gray outside with a sign that is easy to miss , but its here and i am going in to browse and maybe buy . typical brf threads for ladies and gent with a tilt on a younger hip crowd but i did find a few long sleeve shirts that look cool and a pair of long cargo shorts that reach pass the knees . good selections and variety especially for gals as its mostly 60 percent ladies stuff and the rest men .the staff seem to have the place organized and easy to find items are a plus when you cant decided what to get. 120 bucks for 2 shirts , one pants and socks seems reasonable when you consider the quality looks and feels grade a. overall not totally my style but if you snoop around long enough you are bound to find something nice to take home to wear in public.
