Banbury Cross Donuts

The donuts are alright. Better than grocery store donuts, but not quite on the same level as other bakeries. The filled donuts are definitely not worth your time though. There’s barely any filling in them at all. And no, these photos aren’t manipulated to make the donuts look more empty than they were. There was a silver dollar size amount of filling in each donut. Most was unfilled. So you get maybe 2-3 bites with any filling.

First stop after a procedure and let me tell you I already love this place. Not once in all the years I’ve been going have I had a bad experience but today was even more exceptional. Thank you for making my day with that donut, it was the best!!

Banbury has been my families go to place for delicious donuts for years. They have never failed us. That’s why we keep going back. Best donuts out there! I do wish they had a Draper or south of the valley location. There is a perfect spot for them off state and 114th. If anyone knows the owner, they should mention the old Taco Time location by Trader Joe’s would be the perfect place for a new location..”wink wink!”

For those of you that enjoy the nostalgia of a good donut Banbury is the best in Salt Lake City. A vast assortment of various donuts from old fashioned glaze twists to Boston creme. They even make a special, 24 hour in advance notice, Utah donut which is U shaped, has 3 varieties to choose from (glaze, chocolate, and vanilla frosting), and has white and red sprinkles as an option. Convivial staff and fast service.

Blueberry yum yum - can’t believe I crushed so many donuts. Very delicious, reasonably priced and friendly staff. Blueberry is super dank, I enjoyed the maple bar as well as the Bavarian chocolate

Best blueberry donuts! Their blueberry icing is perfection. 100% five stars. And even better: we got there just before closing and spoke to a lady there picking up free donated donuts for the old folks home. I love that they help out the community like that. They are now my go-to place for donuts and will always have my business.

Some of the best donuts in town! Make sure to come early when they’re the most fresh and before they run out of the all your favorites! The service here has always been great.

I pulled into their parking lot and seriously thought they had closed down. The building is not kept up and the only door to enter in, is along side the drive up window. I almost turned around and left. When I walked in, it took the employee a long time to acknowledge the fact that I was there. Their donuts are still very good, especially the orange roll.

Hands down the BEST DONUTS you'll ever have and the craving just gets stronger! Go for all of the choice, you can't go wrong.

Definitely some of the better donuts in the area! Banbury also has a convenient drive up window if you are on the go and don't want to walk inside. I heard great things about these donuts and I finally was able to swing by on a Sunday morning. I got an assorted dozen so we could try out a few different kinds - the raised glazed was the favorite! I also liked the cinnamon roll, as well as the old fashioned donut if you are more of a cake donut person. Overall definitely worth a stop if you like donuts!

I bring these donuts to my customers everytime I am in town. They always love them. The service is great. They usually have assorted dozens already boxed and ready to go. They also have a drive though if you are in a hurry.

I wanted a crumb cake donut and asked the Donut Critic where to go. he suggested this place. and man was I glad he did. they are one of the best places in the state and I mentioned it to several friends and oen of them is up there a lot, to my benefit. this place is quality. great taste and just a wonderful experience. can't wait to get back up there and get a few dozen again. What a great little homestyle donut shop! The donuts all were delicious, I especially enjoyed the old fashions with Just the right amount of glaze. Some of the other donuts were super sweet, but the cake of the donut matched perfectly.

This is as good as it gets, some of the best doughnuts I've ever had. They have tons of variety, but you need to get in early enough... before they run out of your favorite. The apple fritters are amazing. I also love the cinnamon doughnut, and the maple bar (which is a little lighter than others). The staff is helpful and pleasant. They genuinely seem to enjoy serving delicious food... as we all should!

When we have office meetings and everyone is from out of town, one of the most requested breakfasts requested is to have BANBURY donuts.

Cashier was so friendly and helpful on 6/12/2023 Cinnamon donut - best donut I've had ever, slight chewiness to the donut leads to a nice mouth feel, ate it in the store and they were sold out of it when my friends went back to the counter Cinnamon roll - okay cinnamon roll bit, bit on the sweet side for me, outer layer a bit dry but inside is fluffy, meh don't get rolls at a donut shop Chocolate dipped cake donut - very good, drier than the normal donut though Blueberry cake donut - more moist than the other cake donut probably because of the blueberries blended in, Mini Bavarian cream - similar chewiness to the donut, Filled with the cream

I am very picky with donuts, being from Portland! So when some colleagues told me about this place, I had to try it out. They definitely exceeded my expectations! Definitely friendly staff and the customer service was amazing! Everyone was very friendly and helpful! The ambiance was calm and had a great sell inside and out, the smell made me so hungry! I will definitely be coming here more often, I like to stop here to grab a dozen donuts for me and my colleagues!! Definitely recommend!! Thank everyone!

If there's one thing a connoisseur will notice quickly it is that Utah likes it's Donuts the same way it likes it's contraception, low cost and old fashioned, a fact that sees Banbury Cross often sold out of top choices by 9:00am on weekends. Part of Salt Lake City since 1986, a second location only recently debuted in Centerville, it is inside the small shop with a drive-thru that guests will find several styles of freshly-made Pastries including Muffins and Cinnamon Rolls. Uncertain regarding the name, though ties to England would seem likely, Banbury Cross focuses on classic varieties made by hand including a somewhat dense yeasted base offered beneath simple Glaze or flavored Frosting. Not on par with Fresh Donuts & Deli, though a Chocolate Cake Ring topped in Frosting and Jimmies is among the best of its kind, Banbury Cross' Old-Fashioned is dry even beneath thick Maple while the Apple Fritter needs more Fruit and a bit more attention in the fryer to keep them from becoming soggy.

We went here on a snowy morning so it wasn't crowded. There were some parking spots at the back. We got chocolate sprinkles and blueberry donut. The price was super affordable! The donuts were fluffy and soft. The frosting was sweet enough so when I bite the whole donut, it wasn't too sweet. The chocolate donut was chocolaty and decadent. I could taste the blueberry in the frosting of blueberry donut. We would definitely come back when we are in the area.

While everyone else in town is obsessed with cookies, donuts have been my go-to since 1991. How I've not visited Banbury Cross is beyond me, but this past week I remedied that and stopped by. I wanted to grab a dozen assorted-without really caring what they gave me. I was also on a conference call for work, so the drive through appealed. I hopped in line and was there for far longer than I cared to be and blocked other cars in the parking lot just being in line. The logistics were not ideal. When I did make my way to the window, the young man taking orders was friendly and got me an assortment along with an order of donut holes. By the time my conference call was complete, I had my donuts and was on my way. The donuts were pretty good-I enjoyed a sugar one from the batch. Feedback on the cinnamon was that it was a bit overpowering, but overall, the group was happy with their treats. I'll likely return, but probably not at the height of the Friday morning rush.

Now... these here donuts are dangerous!!!!!! Who would of thought I could find such a delicious donut in Utah. I'm starting to think I'm underestimating this state. Lol. These donuts were goose-down pillow soft.. I mean they melt in your mouth at first bite. I was enticed by the glaze donut. It wasn't just any glaze donut. This thang here was thanging in every way possible. I had to control myself from just stuffing the entire donut in my mouth. I didn't get to visit the location since my lovely coworker brought these in to give us all a sugar coma. But it was worth every bite. Must try!!!

Awful customer service. Middle aged Hispanic female was very rude and caught an attitude when we asked for cream in our coffee. Other cashiers looked apologetic and were pleasant. Good donuts- fresh donuts on state provided an overall better experience for 7am.

Can I'm just say I'm not a big doughnut person usually, but anytime anyone brings a yellow box of doughnuts to work I know it's this brand and I cannot say no. They are top quality doughnuts with perfect taste and texture. and the box is so cute.

I will dream about these donuts until I one day return to Salt Lake City. I was told by my friend they were the best - as in, best they've ever had and to get the blueberry one- so I got up early the morning of my flight and walked 1.5 miles from my hotel. Zero regrets and I'd do it again, over and over. The blueberry donut had such a nice flavor, was crispy on the outside and super soft on the inside. The frosting wasn't overly sweet and was complementary to the donut. I also got the Bavarian Kreme and that one blew me away as well. The kreme was awesome, and the dark chocolate icing perfect. I was smart enough to get extra donuts for my flight, and they survived in my carry on. At home, my partner loved the blueberry and the Bavarian kreme donuts as well; he agreed with all my comments and asked for more haha. My only regrets are not buying more kinds to try! I'd recommend going early in the morning because as they sell out, that's it!

Really failing to see how this place is so highly rated. Tried two of their donuts; the cookies and cream and vanilla frosted cake batter donut. Just from picking up the donut out of the bag I could tell it wasn't going to be a good one. The dough was hard as a rock, so underwhelming as the donuts looked great. Staff was very friendly and attentive but unfortunately their donuts were not good at all.

I ordered 5 dozen donut holes ahead of time and my order was ready as I asked. The donut holes were very popular with the group I ordered for.

They're certainly not the prettiest donuts that I've ever seen, but looks can be deceiving, as they were delicious! (I suppose this is why you shouldn't always judge a book by it's cover.) I also like the fact that this place stays open a lot later than most other donut shops and the convenience of their drive-thru. Will definitely be back:)

Fresh hot donuts at $1.29?! I can't find that price for good basic and non basic donuts. They did have a huge variety of donuts. The apple fritters were huge, but opted for chocolate, blueberry, strawberry and an old fashion on two different visits. These donuts were not old or sitting there all day either. Donuts we're light and tasted so fresh, wish I could have one now.

Only the best donut shop in town. I will put money on it and I'm not much of a gambler. They have a drive through but it can get backed up so pop in and the line moves fast. Not much sitting inside but great to grab and go. Lots of options. The cinnamon is there most famous and is super delicious. My favorites are the cake donuts with sprinkles and old fashioned which comes in blueberry, chocolate and maple. So good! They also have lots of fun specialty options, call and order U donuts if your a Utah fan. Oh and the donut holes are the best-so many options. Sometimes I like to order just donut holes if I can't decide on what I want or I want a lot of different options. For example they have a Bavarian cream donut holes, cake donut holes with sprinkles and the cinnamon donut all and donut hole form which is sometime all you need to get your fix.

Really wanted to love these after reading the good reviews! The two apple fritters looked golden and delicious on the outside when I peeked into the to go bag after rolling through the drive through. Unfortunately, the center was uncooked dough which was not appetizing. The people working here were friendly and the drive through is convenient :)

Nothing too unique gut consistently good and not expensive. Wish we had one in Utah county.

The donuts alone are the most tasty in town. Additionally the coffee is a very great addition. The staff has always been friendly and will g to make your order complete. Most outlets provide a convenient place to sit, enjoy your donut (donuts) and a drink of coffee or tea. Always a comfortable feeling environment.

The boss REALLY made our day today by bringing us 4 dozen assorted donuts! Especially from Banbury Cross! I wish I could have gotten a photo of all of them, but they disappeared quickly! Always fresh and delicious! Even the most basic glazed donuts are so good! Ha ha. Can you tell how exited I am?

I got three glazed donuts, a coffee, and a maple donut. The place was a bit crowded and it took around 15 minutes to go through the drive through. However, the donuts were well worth the wait! They were all very soft with an even coating of glaze. They stayed relatively fresh even after a few hours in the car and were a good price.

Four stars here are really because of a memory of what it once was rather than what it has become. It is a real factory and there is no sense of community or customer service here whatsoever. I mean you go and you get out and that's it. The quality of the donut has diminished significantly over the years. I still love the packaging. The box they put your donuts in is absolutely adorable. And evokes great childhood memories. A couple donuts that still make it worth the trip are the blueberry iced and raised cinnamon. These two are still very good donuts. They're orange roll has gone to the trash heap along with their glazed cinnamon roll. I'm not sure what happened to these once delightful pastries.

Great, quick service. The chocolate Bavarian cream donut was great! UNBEATABLE prices! 2 donuts and a soda for about $6. Parking can be a little tricky with the drive thru line. It's more of an in and out vibe, not somewhere you'd want to hang for too long. It's very busy!

Last minute recommendation from some mom friends, and this place didn't disappoint!!! Did a walk in order, and staff was with me within 2 minutes ready to handle my order with a smile. I ordered a dozen donuts, with a variety of donuts - Bavarian cream, chocolate covered, bear claws, cinnamon spice, lemon filled and more. Hands down our group all agreed the Bavarian Cream, Bear Claw, Buttermilk and Cinnamon spice were the best! Only one downside was not having more options as a few had sold out, and we were surprised there weren't more options, but the flavors overall and prompt staff kept this at 4-4 1/2 stars easily!! We will return!

Coworkers would bring these donuts into work back when we all worked in the office. With the pandemic, it had been a while so I l took an adventure into Salt Lake. I got to the drive thru just before 10:00 and it took about 25 minutes to get through the line. I was surprised that it was this busy. I got a dozen donuts to share with my family. All and all, they were delicious. I noticed that some of the donuts left a slight film in my mouth, probably from the lard or butter used in the donuts. I really enjoyed the cinnamon crumb donut. Highly recommend giving it a go if you like cinnamon.

Wow! I love this place and their donuts! We are talking donuts.............. not important in any material way! Except when you politely ask to have a single order of a dozen assorted donuts, confirming three different times that I didn't want any cake donuts. Well, the gentleman at the drive thru, was a bit scattered brained and had to go back and get the correct order three times because he continued to forget (no big deal, just not efficient). Get home and what do we have? Cake donuts! Called to speak to them and asked to speak to their manager to make them aware that this took place but was met with a hostile, rude person on the phone. It's literally donuts and there was no need to become a bitter angry human being. Your donuts are so good and therefore I am so sad because I love this place but it's so simple a thing that it's ludicrous to be treated poorly for bringing it to their attention. Won't be coming back. Also this is a sad order of assorted donuts. Also, you told me the owner comes in at 5:30 PM, when you close your phones at 5:00 PM. What a distasteful way to treat a customer that's been ordering from there for many years. You could have apologized. Simple.

We love Banbury Cross!! It is a favorite in our home. Every year for my husband's birthday I get him a big box of donuts from here. Banbury Cross has lots of different options. We love their cake donuts, but you can never go wrong with a maple bar or chocolate bar. SO GOOD!! These guys are always consistent!

If there's anything I can tell you to get here, it's the glazed donuts. They are absolute perfection. I'm not even kidding. Not sure how they do it but they melt in your mouth, yet are more dense than any other glazed donut I've had anywhere else. And the flavor is incredible. My mouth waters just thinking about it!!!! I many have trouble with some of their other donuts but Banbury is my go to for glazed, always and forever!!!!

Donuts are a spiritual thing for me and PRAISE BE these are the very best. In the last month I have found myself downtown 3 times.... Maybe it was for errands but honestly it was for donuts. You can't go wrong with the glazed! We also got the maple bars and strawberry with sprinkles. I tried the buttermilk for the first time and it was amazing. A true blessing. Never skip an opportunity to grab a treat from Banbury.

Great little donut spot. All your donut, bar & hole staples. Simple and straightforward donuts here, but don't let that fool you....they are fresh, soft, delicious & heavenly. My favorite was the strawberry glazed. The maple bar held up great as a day old treat too. That's the sign of a tried & true treat.

Cute little corner donut shop in a neighborhood! There's a drive thru, a small lot, and street parking alongside. I got a maple donut and a cinnamon roll, which was shaped like a muffin at the bottom and had tons of icing and some raisins throughout. The maple donut wasn't cake-based and was the perfect texture. They also had a few drinks like juice and coffee available!

Ok this place has the best donuts in the world. YES! They are soft and moist, warm and tasty. Nothing more to say but go try it out and let me know. I can't eat any other donuts anymore! Over 30 different types of varieties, my best is now the blueberry frosting. it's served every day! I'm from Hawaii, and get to visit Salt Lake City just twice a year, so this is always on my go to list!

I read about this donut shop and very excited to try. Walked in and there is very little selection. Just basic donuts in glazed, strawberry, chocolate, maple, sprinkles... However, they were fresh and delicious. This does not make up for the lack of customer service. I was being rung up, when another manager-like employee cleared my order and took payment of the other customer. I literally stood there is disbelief. My measly order was not worthy enough over the couple of dozens I guess this customer was paying for.

If I come to SLC, getting a blueberry cake donut from Banbury Cross is a must. These are the freshest, most flavorful, most earth shatteringly delicious donuts known to human kind. If you think I'm exaggerating, we'll, you're probably right... But !! That's how my mouth feels about the matter. These donuts are that pleasurable to eat. The shop employees are super nice, very speedy, and can put together whatever kind of box you want. I tend to get half cake style, half regular. Bringing in a dozen of these babies is a sure fire way to earn some friends at the office.
