Bancroft Park

It's not a bad park when they have events going on. And during a certain time during the summer months they have live music there almost every weekend and some during the weekdays. But when the crowds die down, it's a homeless hangout. And I don't have anything against them at all. Heck they need some where to go and relax too, but it seems to take away some of the tranquility the park has to offer. It's a good place to sit and read , especially with the library sitting right behind the park. When the crowds are gone they come in. And yhey'll sleep there and leave all kinds of trash there. And you just don't feel too safe especially at night. But this weekend they are holding at Bancroft park the first ever German Christkindlmarket. It was fun. And I really enjoy it. Glad they are holding one here in old Colorado city so we don't have to drive all the way to Denver to enjoy it. Surrounding the park is not only the library, but some amazing eateries, and unique shops to enjoy.

Nice city block park in Old Colorado City center with a play area, restrooms, amphitheater, and information signs regarding the city's history. The historic Pioneer County Office, which started as a false front cabin, was relocated to the park. The building was closed when we were there, but appears that is occasionally open for visitors.

Love the farmer’s market here, and the many different activities that take place in OCC. This is a perfect spot for lunch or just to take a break.

We were visiting Colorado Springs during Thanksgiving week. We went on Saturday for shopping and ate lunch at Yellow Mountain Tea House. We dropped by the park since we saw some festivity. We watched the reindeers which were so cute. It is a small community park.

Checked out Kristkrindl Christmas market. Was fun and had great German beer and pretzels. Could have had a few more booths though as it seemed kinda sparse. No band while we were there either.

Our first visit and this is a TRUE resort. Many activities, the ground are immaculate, and the staff are very helpful and nice.

I was actually impressed with how much more my son and I enjoyed this Kristkindl Markt versus the one we attended the first week of December in Denver (minus hanging with my COLORADO BRATS FRIENDS)😍😍😍.. The atmosphere felt more "personal", there were less crowds, pleasant people and my kiddo even enjoyed the polka music and FINALLY tried someone else's European food.. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I don't know who had the idea to fence off this location for winter shopping and activities. But it go so crowded in that area that it felt like you were in a mosh pit. There was no control on how many people were going in and going out. If you're claustrophobic or dislike crowds this is NOT the place to go. I didn't even have a chance to check out the christmas attire that the vendors were trying to sell.

9/1/25-Went to an event at the park. It was a nice little park. They did have public restrooms, but there was no soap. People were also getting confused on how to work them since they were electronic. The bathrooms are also not ADA friendly in that they use a color light system that is hard for many people to see. I actually was talking to a guy trying to figure them out and he said the colored lights are useless to him since he is color blind. I helped him with the colors to help him find an empty one. The benches are also hostile to the homeless since the benches clearly have an added bar to block people from sleeping on them. Parking was also really bad with few close spots, so people with disabilities had to park way off and walk in. The only good thing is that the normal metered parking was free that day due to the holiday. Cities don't care about how metered parking is a stopping issue for a lot of people and having potential customers have to pay for parking can hurt business. Even though there are a lot of small businesses there is no parking and what little parking there is people are fighting for spots. I hope the event we went to and other events choose a different park next time that is more friendly to the public.
