The food at B&B fish tastes good. However, for a Jason Santos branded project, I expected more.
Overall the food was WAY too oily and WAY too salty. To the point for sogginess. The standards were just lacking.
I ordered a cod combo and received three breaded strips of cod which were fresh and tasty.
However, my wife got the fish sandwich, which only had one of these strips (about an inch thick), and looked ridiculously small inside the sandwich bun.
Other dishes we tried were the fried chicken thighs (delicious, maybe the best thing on the menu-at a fish shack), prawn tails (basically popcorn shrimp, disappointed), fried pickles (oily, too salty, soggy), hush puppies (wet inside but tasty), flamin hot Cheetos corn (good), and fries (basic).
All the sauces were delicious, but unlabeled. Aside from the tartar sauce, I had no clue what I was eating.
For the prices Santos is asking, I expected a lot more, especially on the North Shore, where the same food can be found at the same or better quality and quantity for less.
Will I be back? Maybe, probably? But I won't be running back. Santos needs to either drop the prices or increase the standard of quality his reputation is known for.
