First time I have been in this barbecue restaurant and I’ll have to say it serves the MOST delicious brisket, sausage, chicken, and ribs! The portions are generous and reasonably priced. The service? FAST! You better get there early before they open because they have people waiting in line to get in even before the doors fly open! A big shout out to the managers, Luis - Bree - Catherine! Their leadership skills are quite evident in their staff who are ever so accommodating to their patrons!

Google
I ordered the two meat barbecue plate about an hour before they closed and I still had a wonderful experience. I know that it's difficult to have a great experience at most places right before closed but this was definitely an exception. The food was phenomenal super fresh and delicious. The lady at the front cover was so sweet. The price was reasonable, also. Parking was a little difficult but definitely worth it! Fantastic experience!

7/9/2025 my wife and I decided to pick a barbecue place that is week known on the southside. We came in and waitress was nice, the atmosphere was great but when coming here I did have a couple things I wanted to point out. So for 2 people I kid you not the bill came out to $54.16 which is totally insane for such mediocre food that did not stand out to me or my wife. The cream corn tasted like it’s been out for a while. The peach cobbler was horrendous and was not appetizing whatsoever. The sides were small for what we paid for which was $3.79. The sausage was not that great and the only thing that was appealing and was delicious was the brisket. Brisket was 9/10. And for some reason in this crazy world why in the hell is there 4 people cleaning the tables n floors when the floors n tables have been cleaned for 45 mins. I’m not sure but it seems like they are missing their labor. When it should only take 1 person but that’s just me. Only reason I pointed this out was because while my wife and I were eating within these 45 mins this gentleman was just walking around it must have been 8 times walking around the restaurant cleaning with 4 other people, I thought this was unnecessary but Hopefully my next visit will better.

I really WANT to write an upbeat, positive review of this place. We walked in, it was lively, clean, and spirits were high. The woman who took our order was nothing less than phenomenal. SO....That's the good... Now let's talk about what really matters..the food.. We went around 5:30 -6:00, so dinner hour. I got the 2 meat plate (18.69) chose brisket (extra fatty) and sausage. My sides were cream corn and green beans. The ONLY thing hot on my plate was the green beans. Everything else was LUKEWARM at BEST. Look my SINGULAR requirement when I go to a "smokehouse" or BBQ joint is that MY FOOD IS HOT. I don't need to see them pull it off a spit, but COME ON. The sausage was tender (win) but the main flavor was SALT. No taste of smoke, pepper or even garlic. Just salt. The Brisket melted in my mouth (win) and hat it been hot, would have had me twitterpated. The creamed corn, was also, lukewarm, which made the texture off. It had a good flavor, that I can tell SMACKS when hot, but alas, that was apparently to much to ask. The green beans were hot...and had me hot and bothered, loved them, and almost ordered more to go. As far as my wife's Brisket Baked Potato (15.49). It was huge, it was hot, but it was mediocre. She wasn't impressed because her brisket was also Lukewarm. That was the bad..... Now for the UGLY......the bbq sauce...it tasted like liquid tomatoes sauce sugar and vinegar. No depth, no thickness, no smoke....no nothing else... we both went as far as wiping it off the meat it touched.

Google
Got the bbq sampler plate which was a generous portion of brisket, sausage, turkey, bbq chicken, pork as well as a rib and side of beans. All the staples were flavorful and sides were good as well. I found the bbq sampler to be a good price for the amount of food given even without sides and would definitely come back.

Ordered the family brisket #1 + sausage to go for the 4th of July dinner! The brisket and the sausage was delicious! And potato salad and cream corn!!! OMG!!!!!! 🤤🤤🤤

Maybe I came on a bad day I don't know, but the food wasn't hitting. My dad spent over$100 and it wasn't worth the price. My sister's food was really dry—she had to use the bbq to eat the meat. But even then it went down the wrong pipes.. I had got a burger, but I could make the same type at home. Customer service was good and all, but the food wasn't it. I wouldn't really recommend it, but that's just my opinion. You could judge for yourselves. Maybe I got the wrong thing that day, but overall if my dad asks me if I want to go I would say "no thanks."

Google
Although, this was a to go order, it was still fresh and great! Ordered fries extra crispy and they were not soggy. Brisket burger 06.26.25 - anytime I order family orders for work events, they 80% of the time fail me. Just trust but verify all that you asked for is in your packaging. Today I was missing, bread, serving utensils and an ask for the sausage cut wasn't fulfilled. Not the end of the world, just really inconvenient.

Yelp
When we got to San Antonio we asked the front desk where is good place to eat. Our front desk woman said that B&B smokehouse is great. My wife and I put our stuff in our room and booked it to B&B. I like that there is a drive thru. I liked the fact you have to order first then get a seat. Lily was very nice. My wife and I both ordered 2 meat plates. I upgraded my meal for the 2 ribs and brisket. The meats had a great smoke flavor. I only wish for 2 cups of bbq or a squeeze bottle. Their bbq sauce was bomb. The ambiance was nice and I knew I was going to be a good bbq teas joint. The staff was friendly as well! When I'm back in San Antonio I will be back here.

Yelp
I have given this place plenty of chances. Their food is great. I love their brisket, their sausage, their pinto beans, and their potato salad, but every time I buy a ranch hand plate from there they are very small plates. They only give you like three little pieces of brisket. They do it through the drive-through and today I went inside thinking it might be different but it wasn't the ranch hand plate cost $18. It's more like a child's plate and I am not 6 foot four 270 pounds. If you want a good big plate that'll fill you up go to Dee Willie's BBQ in China Geove or on S Zarzamora st. Why why this place has gotten worse over time I do not know but I won't spend $20 on a plate that only has three little pieces of brisket. To all your newcomers beware

Yelp
YUMMY! I was in the area for my niece's school event and my mom was saying my sister recommended this place- especially their salad with turkey. The place smelled amazing and was very clean and the staff were super friendly. The salad was absolutely enormous and delicious! There were so many elements to it (hard boiled egg, radish, carrots, cheese, tomatoes, green olives, croutons, cheese). It was what salad dreams are made of! I definitely can't wait to come back and try their bbq and cookies!

Yelp
I have never eaten here - this review is based on a pick up to bring back and enjoy for an office meeting to feed 20 people I have to say the food was absolutely fantastic! The bbq sauce was delicious. Highly recommend if you're looking for good bbq and variety!!

Dennis M.

Yelp
I love this place, don't get me wrong.... Pretty much everything I have eaten here has been really good. The service is always great! This review is strictly on their BBQ Chicken. I had never tried it until today and I wanted a good portion to try all parts so I ordered a full chicken. Every bite was dry, dry, dry! The skin was like leather even though it looks good. Not even their amazing bbq sauce could salvage this mess. Complete waste of $20 So if you order from here, save $ and get the amazing brisket or their awesome potatoes or turkey or even the ribs. Just pass on the chicken. IMO

Yelp
Service was fast when we went. It gets busy fast, but the wait isn't too bad. The ambiance is casual. Order first, then seat yourself, but you see people getting tables first before ordering even though there's a sign that states otherwise. Food comes out pretty fast. It's fresh. The cream corn is delicious, and so is the brisket sandwich. Now my favorite. The chicken is tender, moist, juicy paired with their barbecue sauce it's perfect. Lunch specials come with a medium-sized drink and can upsize for pocket change literally. I'm in helotes area and drive to the restaurant, which is a bit of a drive. I definitely recommend. If you are military, you do get a discount or if it's your birthday.

Yelp
After a few recommendations, I finally had a chance to stop into this clearly popular Southside barbecue establishment. The parking lot was full with even a few cars roaming around looking for a spot. Luckily, I noticed a drive-thru, so there I went. After some deliberation at the large outdoor menu board, I ordered the two meat plate - brisket and sausage, along with potato salad and pinto beans. Since I had noticed other reviews referencing beef ribs, I was disappointed to learn they no longer carried them, nor did I notice them on the menu board. To start, the portion of sausage was big, but the portion of brisket was really lacking. I doubt it was even 1/4 lb. While the brisket was tender, it wasn't very smoky, although the bark was tasty. Another observation I made was the lack of a smokestack coming out of the building, so I do wonder where they "smoke" their meat. The sausage was fine, although lacking a little spice, nor did it taste absolutely "fresh off the smoker". The surprise came with the side items. The beans were good, with the definite aroma and taste of cilantro, although I wish they were a little more seasoned. The potato salad was very good, however. It had perfect flavor and the perfect mix of ingredients. The little cup of barbecue sauce was barely okay. It was just a little more sweet than spicy or peppery, but also tasted a little sour... definitely not my favorite. Overall, the price point at just under $20 for the plate was a little high for the product, unfortunately. Considering the popularity of the place, I was hoping for a little more.

Yelp
Went for a birthday lunch, found a table and food was delicious. The ribs are perfect! The brisket is awesome . Always great service!

Yelp
I don't say this a lot. But this has to be maybe the 2nd place that I do. The BBQ here is the BOMB.COM!! Everything was good. Even the Spanish rice is as notably tasty. The turkey was really good and the lean brisket was awesome. Green beans were great. The staff was over the top. So cheerful. I think I interacted with three different people in a positive manner. And I was only picking. Great experience.

Yelp
B&B Smokehouse is always a favorite spot of mine. The food has always been really good, and the service is very quick. I have been eating here for roughly 14 years now. On this visit I ordered the two-meat plate with sausage and brisket. What I really like is that they ask you how you want your brisket. This time I went with the "in-between," which was lean with some marbling. My sides were creamed corn and potato salad. The sides were very flavorful and freshly made. The location has plenty of seating for a group. The price was about what you would pay for any BBQ around San Antonio. Overall, the experience was a good one, and the food made me want to take a to-go plate. Definitely recommend trying at least once!
google avatar

Gilbert Z.

Yelp
I just don't get it. Why do people hype this place up so much. Brisket has no smoke ring or flavor, and very chewy. Turkey had a decent taste but no smoke flavor or bark to be found. Overall the price and the taste is horrible. I'm sorry but if this is what yall consider good bbq I have to completely disagree. I've ordered before twice to go and i figure maybe i have to sit and eat there.Wouldn't recommend. I wish I could give no stars but one will do i guess
google avatar

Brittany W.

Yelp
The place is packed, but the line moves fast and somehow tables just happen to empty right when you need them! Brisket was good. The sausage was delicious! That creamed corn is 60% cream and 40% corn! It was almost like a creamy corn soup. Definitely a great spot for lunch. The sweet tea is average.

Yelp
Love the dining area! Ordered the burger and my parents each ordered the brisket poor boy. Food was delicious. My parents enjoy dining here and suggested the restaurant.

Yelp
A delicious treat! They are a staple of the South side, and I love every bit of their hospitality, great portions, and delicious food! I haven't been inside, but from the pictures, i can tell it's well kept. The nice man at the window is patient. It's always crowded here and it's always number one in BBQ for us! Thanks! We'll be back!

Yelp
Food is delicious. Service is quick. Place is clean and spacious for you and all your party. I definitely recommend brisket poboy and the monster baked potato with chopped brisket.

Yelp
The literally pulled the table from RIGHT in front of us to give to a LARGER party !! I almost said give me a refund this was the worst experience!

Yelp
Went here with my fiance for lunch the other day. I dropped my fiance off at the front and went to look for a parking spot. I had no issue finding a parking spot, but that was probably luck on my part. I didn't see any other open spots, and it looked like other people were walking over from other parking lots nearby. I got inside, and there was a line that backed up to the door. My fiance was already about halfway to the register by the time I got in. Learned a while ago that a line to good Bbq restaurant is pretty normal. Having a line at good BBQ Restaurant is as normal as having meat and napkins I went to stand with my fiance in line. She suggested that I go find a table while she waited. The dining area was packed, but I did find a table. My fiance found me shortly after I found the table. Our order number was called out pretty quick. My fiance realized that she made a mistake by saying that she did not want lemon for her drink. Because of this, she asked me to request some when I went to get the food at the counter. The food was on the counter when I got up there. The staff behind the counter pointed to which trays were mine. I asked her for some lemon, and she got me some without issue. I got the Bacon Cheeseburger while my fiance got a Baked Potato with chopped brisket. I thought the burger was delicious. My fiance also liked her potato but ended up taking some home. I recommend this place for great food and the fast / friendly service.

Yelp
The food and service is excellent. The potato salad and beans are some of the best I have tasted in a barbecue restaurant.

Yelp
Shame on father's day they ran out of food. Disappointed. Should have taken business elsewhere

Yelp
South side favorite for lunch strikes again! I used to work nearby and would visit B&B often but since moving jobs it had been a while. Was happy to stop by this week for one of their daily specials. Be wary and visit early to beat the lunch rush! I went with my usual- the chicken salad accompanied by some sweet tea. Nice, fresh, and crisp. The restaurant is always clean and has plenty of seating. Till next time B&B.

Yelp
Tried this place today with some coworkers. I tell you what, get there early. They open at 11. I got there around 1045 and there were cars already waiting. One guy got in line about 1050, I followed him with my son, and right after the line was all down the building. And it was nonstop the whole time we ate. I will give them one thing, their service is fast. Once you got to order you didn't have to wait long. But if you don't want to be in the line get there early. I tried the brisket burger with fries. And about a pound of turkey and an order of fries for my son and I to split. With sweet tea. The brisket burger overall was very good. I ordered regular brisket on it. They offered lean, regular and marbled. First time I had the regular option lol the burger patty itself was kind of bland but with the brisket on top, and tomatoes, pickles etc it was pretty good. I would not order the burger by itself. The turkey was moist and had a good flavor. Fries were good. Sweet teas were good. One of my coworkers ordered the Thursday special pork ribs, and these things are huge. I should have roams a photo. Never seen pork ribs that large. He enjoyed them. There was a variety of po boys ordered and a baked potato with brisket and everyone like their food. It was a good time. The staff are always walking around looking to take away finished plates and getting refills and anything else you need. Very friendly. The place is large inside and everyone was very nice. I don't usually get to this side of town much but if I am I'll definitely give them another holler. The menu has many things to try and so far so good.
google avatar

Heidi A.

Yelp
The meats were very dry. And the green beans are so soggy. The service was okay. It was a little slow but nothing too crazy. I'm sure there's a much better Texas bbq place.

Yelp
B&B Smokehouse delivers delicious BBQ at an unbeatable price. The brisket is a standout, offering a perfect balance of tenderness and smoky flavor, while the sausages are juicy and flavorful. The casual atmosphere and friendly service enhance the experience, making it a great spot for BBQ lovers. Overall, it's an excellent choice for satisfying cravings without breaking the bank. Yelp
First timers who wanted to try something new thanks to KENS 5 Neighborhood Eats for mentioning this spot. First attempt to try it out failed because they closed early for a private party. Bummer. This time around, well, it wasn't quite what I expected. Tried to pull in , but the drive thru line is a hot mess as it wraps around the building blocking all entry ways for dine-in parking. Unclear if this is what "we" do these days, but no one left space for new customer to enter as though they were under the impression that we were going to cut the line. It was pretty busy but was moving fast. Came to order to-go and the cashier was AMAZING. As I stood in line, i overheard her take the customers order and before giving the price, she asked if they were military or veteran to provide their discounts. Thank you for this, and happy birthday! As for the food Fresh, hot and ok but nothing really stood out to me other then the fries not being crispy or seasoned (no flavor)
google avatar

Brent L.

Yelp
It's decent. Nothing to drive out of your way for, though. The single meat plates are $11.99 and include two sides and the usual two slices of white bread. The brisket was "so-so" but a bit on the dry side. The turkey was the best - it was very moist and had a great smoky taste to it. The tater salad was good, and so were the pinto beans. The best deal found was a 22oz draft of Ziegenbock for $3.25. You should check them out if you are nearby, but don't drive out of your way for it.
google avatar

Anthony B.

Yelp
Wow, blown away by the Pork Ribs. These things are huge. There's no way I could eat 4 with sides. Tried the Potato Salad and Cream Corn. Both definitely hit the spot. I was gonna try the coleslaw but they were out so I'm curious about it now. Staff was friendly, and they had a line inside and out the whole time I was there. Only complaint was the $1.00 charge for a soda drink top-off. I passed, seems really sleazy after paying $2.50 for a drink let allow a $25.00 tab for one person.

Yelp
I swear I have reviewed B&B as we have been going for many years. Usually after a morning of shooting at A Place to Shoot. I have been going since they were in the smaller building down the street. It really had character. The new location has a much larger dining area. be careful where you park. There is a small number of spaces just north of the light, but when the drive through backs up you will get stuck there. My daughter likes the baked potatoes with brisket. I prefer the meats and sides. The brisket was moist, tender, and had a good smoked flavoring. The turkey also moist and smokey. Pulled pork was disappointing. It was tender, but appeared to spent too long in water in a steam tray. Proper pulled pork is "pulled" right off the butt or shoulder at the time of serving. This way the customer gets some of the bark in with the tender meat. I had the potato salad and green beans as sides. Both generous portions (Hey Bill Miller look at the photo for the way sides should look). Potato salad was creamy with good flavor and an occasional but of crunch celery. Green beans had a fresh taste, but could use the addition of bacon for flavor.
google avatar

Gina R.

Yelp
I would've given them a 5 but went to get one refill and they said it was $1 per refill. No where does it say that and they were gonna charge my card for $1. ‍ Food good but for 2 people it's almost $60 and they can't give a refill for free!!?!

Phil G.

Yelp
We just celebrated my mom's 90th birthday at B&B and Rebecca, Catherine, Lily and the rest of the staff all went out of their way to provide great food and service that went completely above and beyond. I highly recommend B&B Smokehouse for lunch, dinner and any special occasions you might have coming up. It's a great place and I'm more than happy with everything they did for us. It was worth every dollar spent. I was very pleased with the atmosphere and the crowd that B&B has.

Yelp
The best bbq on the Southside. The prices have gone up. But the food and desserts are good.
google avatar

Yelp
Best dam smokehouse in the Southside. Fast friendly service A place to take your family and friends. This place is always rocking with delicious food.

Yelp
Great BBQ, great service, great price. I highly recommend B&B. I am definitely going back!
google avatar

Yelp
Love, love the bbq here, grew up coming here when it was a small house with an outdoor smokehouse. Definitely has grown, yet the food is just as mouth-watering as before. If you haven't tried it before, drive on down to the Southside and gotcha some bbq you won't regret it. Tell em I sent you. They also have scraps for the doggos.

Yelp
When you are supposed to be open on Easter, be open or at least post signs and tell those waiting and on social media you're closed. Never encountered this so horrible

Yelp
The food was tasty! Pulled pork po'boy for me. Delicious. The serving of BBQ sauce on the side was unique, had some mild heat, and tasted so good. Good fries, too. The husband got chicken - moist, flavorful, good smoky BBQ taste. He enjoyed his sides - the beans and coleslaw with the vinegar-based dressing. We skipped dessert. We went at lunchtime on a weekday. There was a line, but it moved fast and efficiently. Food came quickly. We found an available table easily. Energetic vibe. Lots of tables. Open dining area. We were visiting the area from out of state and wanted to eat Texas BBQ. Signs of a good restaurant: A line waiting to order, many locals enjoying a lunch break at the tables around us, and a crowded parking lot. We checked off all three for this place. Not to mention good reviews on Yelp.
google avatar

Zachary A.

Yelp
Arrived - only meats were brisket and sausage. No potatoes. No beans. Figure your demand out. Do not recommend.
google avatar

Lymas L.

Yelp
Barbecue was very tasty. Very good good friendly service will definitely go back. Last couple times going there went through the drive-through real good, but would like to go dying inside and going to do that very soon

Yelp
Good bbq, love the brisket grilled cheese.... And the best thing they sell doggy scraps
google avatar

Milli M.

Yelp
The food was ok.. the best thing about it was the creamed corn... the portions were skimped for the prices of the food & the brisket and sausage were dry, idk if they were having a bad day but I wasn't very impressed. They had koolaid which reminded me of home. The service was good and ambiance was relaxed. I probably won't return.

Bea G.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time . The food was great! And if it's your bd you get a discount.

Yelp
I came a few times when this place was smaller. First time visiting the new larger restaurant. It is very roomy and a great break from the heat. The wait from ordering line to food in hand was minimal. Although they did forget a small part of my order,I had no problem getting a refund for the item. The sausage and bbq chicken were flavorful. Cream corn was so good! The sweet tea is not sweet enough for my liking but overall the food was delicious. Definitely a place to come back with the whole family. Be warned as well that if they run out of items- that is it... they had run out of baked potatoes and ribs by 6pm on a Monday! Should be testament of the good food.
google avatar

Yelp
Food, service and ambiance are always on point! My daughters & I, love lunch dates here!
google avatar

Yelp
If you want BBQ while in San Antonio, this is a good choice. Don't let the long line fool you bc they turn out the food quickly. The portions were large and we could have gotten by with less food so I included the pictures of the 1/2 rack of ribs and the brisket double meat plate.

Yelp
When in Texas, barbecue is a must. I was in town for a long weekend and family recommended we try B&B on the South Side - it was a good half hour trek each way and unfortunately the actual meal was underwhelming. PROS: Lots of parking, drive thru for convenience, quick service inside, large menu, staff were friendly and constantly cleaning up tables, sides (potato salad, Spanish rice and pinto beans) were all better than average. CONS: The actual meats were just okay. We got a 3 meat combo plate for dine in, and ordered a brisket plate to go for my mom back home. Brisket seems to be their standout but it was plain and didn't have much flavor, visible smoke ring but very one-note. Slices were leaner than expected even when ordering otherwise. Quality doesn't seem to be consistent and the slices served on the takeout plate were actually "fatty/moist" as ordered. We also tried the sausage, which was in an odd misshapen piece that looked like a tail, and the turkey, which was served hacked into hard and misshapen pieces. As I said above, the sides were good. But if your sides outshine the proteins, that's a problem. Also found it odd that this spot only seems to have one house barbecue sauce available. We also got one of their brisket tacos, with grilled onions, only to get it sans onions - but the price for the value (three slices of brisket in the taco) was good. At best, this place was inconsistent. I can't say I'll be back here specifically but I will be circling back with the folks who recommended this spot to see what they typically order. But if you're specifically looking for great brisket, maybe head elsewhere.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch. Their chalupas are not on the menu, but are my cousins favorite. They were good & filling. Nect time i will add beef.

Yelp
Got a baked potato and it was very good. Ordered to go and all extras were included. It was a group order and everyone was satisfied and got what they expected. Great selection as well.

Yelp
If you're looking for quick, good bbq this is the place! They have huge baked potatoes, great daily specials and kind employees (Lily has been there since the dawn of time and still has a huge smile on her face!). They also have this really great green salsa, which is kinda weird for bbq.. but still delicious lol. The potato salad, the beans, everything is on point.

Yelp
I don't know how I did not know about this place. I ordered a three meat plate. Brisket, ribs, and sausage with potato salad and cream corn. The ribs were bigger than expected and had great flavor. They were seasoned very well. The brisket was very soft and I don't believe the sausage was all beef, but it also had good flavor. The potato salad was good and the cream corn was delicious! I almost ordered more. I was not able to eat half of the plate. I had my parents try the leftovers and they were hooked. They asked me about the place. They have since gone there themselves and they tried the chicken. Got great reviews. It has good flavor and it just slid off of the bone. They're fans of the cream corn as well. The barbecue sauce was not to my liking, but that does not mean that it was bad. I tend to be a little picky about the sauce. I would definitely recommend that you give it a try. I am by no means a bbq expert, but I feel You definitely get your money's worth. I still can't believe I did not know about this place.
