SerpAPI
I LOVE this place! Not only is everything here delicious, but the staff is amazing. Once or twice I bought a cut of meat that I've never cooked before and both times the butchers were able to give me some great advice and it turned out perfectly! Two of my favorite items here include their candied smoked salmon (YUM!) and anything in their kalbi marinade. But really everything here is good. I tell everyone to go here. Wonderful place!

Christian Obando

SerpAPI
They shared advice on what to get, had quick service and were vet polite, and their meat all looks top quality for a reasonable price connoisseur to some downtown Seattle butchers. Definitely would return.

SerpAPI
This place is amazing! Super fresh, good service and really good prices for fresh meat. Plus they have a frozen area with other items not available fresh. Worth the trip!

SerpAPI
Excellent service and really great quality meats. I love that I can buy smoked marrow bones for my dog as well!

We have been going here since they opened. There is a great selection of cuts, including more unusual ones that are available frozen. They have been adding even more in recent weeks, including American Wagyu rib cap, which is phenomenal! Highly qualified and friendly staff, too.

I’ve been purchasing B&E meats for about 20 years! It’s my go to place for special occasions, holidays or the occasional bbq. It’s all about top quality and consistency. 5+ stars for this amazing place! Their marinated meats are out of this world delicious and there is No WAY you will be disappointed, let alone your guests - guaranteed. Remember you get what you pay for yum, yum! I highly recommend teriyaki tri-tip, boneless kalbi beef and prime rib(seasoned of course).

Amazing service, it was my first time at a butcher so I had no idea what to expect lol. Nathan was so friendly and helpful, he aided me in finding exactly what I needed. I will definitely be back!

SerpAPI
The quality of their meat was truly exceptional. I was impressed. You get what you pay for, truly. I'll definitely be coming back now that I know what they have to offer.

Yelp
Cool place. Has it's own parking which is nice. They do all their own smoking and make their own bacon, sausage, etc.... I couldn't afford their filet for every BBQ, but for a special occasion it is nice.
google avatar

Madison S.

Yelp
I bought filet mignon and chicken thighs from here. I put them in the freezer immediately and as I took them out I noticed a weird smell on the filet mignons, I ate them and got very sick. And then I took the chicken thighs out after I ate the fillets and they were creamy and smelt very bad. I called and told the shop, and they said there was nothing they could do which sucks because I spent around $100 on my order. Really disappointed at my over all experience.

Lynn K.

Yelp
That smell from your neighbors' grill? One up 'em with B&E Kalbi chicken breasts! Even if you don't know how to grill (low & slow or ASK the super nice bros behind the counter) it will still taste 100% better than grocery store bought. Read the family's backstory, walk your dog at nearby Lake Boren, get 'em a raw or smoked bone when you pick up the best meat & seafood your neighbor never tasted! And get some farm grown produce & flowers next door. You're welcome.

Yelp
Well, we were excited to make a dinner my sister insisted on..,steak, preferably Rib Eye. We were feeding 3 people so we got 2 well sized steaks and bbq'd them up. They looked and smelled incredible. But, as all of us have experienced in the past few years steaks aren't what they used to be. These were tough and flavorless. We spent $75 on 2 steaks...omg. Highly disappointed.

Yelp
Love when businesses do not attempt to be what they are not. This business is a meat and seafood shop. It does not have to be fancy. It only need have clean work spaces, efficient POS, and knowledgeable staff. It has all three. My butcher, Jalen, helped me find a slab of duck. I did not know there were different types of it, but soon discovered I need to step up my duck game. Started with a leg quarter. Asked him how to cook it, he provided some helpful simple tips -- thinking before answering. And I felt confident I will soon master cooking it. His associate also helped me find the way out -- through the wine shop. Seemed like a team space and healthy work environment (from my perspective). See folks. Be real. Sell good product. Be a respectful human. Then the fives and raves will come.

Yelp
Very helpful personnel. They have some items that are hard to find like my Wagyu US/SRF Coulotte roast (or picanha). Absolutely amazing flavor and texture!

S G.

Yelp
Such a small amount of fresh anything. So frozen and the steak we got was way too fatty and it was frozen. We really wanted fresh. So this is a one and done. Not helpful at all.

Mary W.

Yelp
My family has bought meat and seafood from B&E for several years, and our special orders for the holidays are always from B&E. It has always been flawless until this Thanksgiving, when we decided to have tenderloin steaks. They were specifically ordered to be 2-21/2 inches thick, center cut. Imagine our surprise when the package of 3 steaks was opened and, while all 3 were the same thickness, one was about twice the size of the other 2. This package of 3 special-order tenderloins was $85. + and we expected that the steaks would be not only the same thickness, but the same SIZE. Who is supervising there? Quality of the meat: 5 stars Quality of the butchering: 1 star

Madison P.

Yelp
Love this place! Beef tenderloins are always incredible, staff is really nice and helpful (I never know what I'm talking about when it comes to red meat & they've always been so helpful here).

Yelp
I went here again... this time I got the pre-prepped cordon bleu chicken breast... it was amazing!! They even have instructions for you that work perfect!!! That is an $80 meal at a fine restaurant any day!!!! I also wanted to make cheesesteaks this weekend... They had great advice , A ribeye steak.. but, they said to set it up for the next day so they can very thinly slice it after they got it colder. I'm picking it up tomorrow I have no doubt it's going to be the best!! Again I am not buying my meat from anywhere else!!!

Yelp
I was always curious who would take over the former spot of A&J Meats on top of Queen Anne, my former neighborhood. Glad to see that B&E Meats and Seafood has become an established neighborhood destination. They have other locations in Burien, Des Moines, and Newcastle. I came in with a Chinook Book coupon for free samples of their signature pepperoni, beef jerky, and smoked salmon. I later shared them with family members and wow they were delicious! It's a good thing I placed them in the car trunk earlier or they would have been mere empty plastic bags! I also bought an Iberico smoked sausage and a pound of their peppered bacon. Counterperson was very pleasant and offered other choices alongside the free samples. Upon his urging, I ended up joining their VIP membership. It's great to support another indie business that provides terrific customer service and high quality products.

Yelp
Great quality, every time. House ground is the best. Highly recommend their marinated meats

Tyler L.

Yelp
Lovely service and good products in a classic atmosphere. Five stars for me, for their ground round beef and candied salmon.

Yelp
I love Queen Anne and I need to make sure I come to B & E more often. I had friends over one and night and decided to prepare short ribs. I didn't want to go to the grocer and thought I'd drive up the hill and see what the meat market had to offer. The slow-cooker recipe I used produced a delicious meal for all. Fresh and NW local meats and seafood abound! Stop by and go home happy, y'all!

Ray D.

Yelp
B&E has been one of my go to places every time I'm in Seattle! B&E serves up some of the best meats bar none. There smoked meats are like the best ever and if you lucky enough to be there when the smoked chicken wings are ready, make sure you get at least 2 pounds per person that's one pound each for in the car and the other pound rack for maybe later.
google avatar

Colin M.

Yelp
I absolutely love this shop. The associates are very kind and helpful, and I've made some of the best ribeye steaks of my life in the last couple times, since about the first time I stepped foot in this establishment. Plus, the steelhead is a SOLID choice if you grew up on the Columbia River and have missed it since you moved away.

David P.

Yelp
B&E Meats is hands down the best butcher in the NW. I go to the Queen Anne location several times a week. They have whatever you need, and their customer service is excellent. I love their lamb chops the most! Their house made bacon is truly phenomenal. Ask for Nate, or Adam, or John, or Maverick.
google avatar

Yelp
Great selection, service, and price! I've been coming here for a few years now and I've not been disappointed once. The sausages are awesome, the steaks are well cared for and their service is top notch. They also provide recommended instructions on how to cook their meats My go to butcher shop for sure.

James S.

Yelp
We recently bought 2 pounds of Copper River salmon at B and E Meats for a special occasion. At $65 a pound it was going to be a fabulous dinner! Preferences on salmon temperature (rare or well done) vary. Yet, most salmon lovers/connoisseurs prefer pink and moist inside for true flavor. I've baked and grilled salmon for 40 years and for the first time I found a worm exiting the fillet. (I went to Plan B for dinner.) My effort to return the salmon for credit was futile. I showed a video of the live worm working his way out of the salmon and was told by the butcher, 'that's why you're supposed to cook fish all the way through.' Many thanks to the Queen Anne B and E meats for this advice. It will save me from future undercooked fish illnesses, and the needless worrisome timing that us weekend grill kings fret over. Instead, I can just 'set it and forget it.' *Update* I spoke with 3 couples, who enjoy fish, and none of them would think of cooking salmon completely. One did find a worm and the seller happily refunded his money.

Yelp
I love this neighborhood butcher, they have a huge selection so I can always find something great to grill. It's a little on the pricier side but the quality is there and service is great. On an earlier visit I asked about the candied salmon and they insisted I try it. I've been hooked since and never leave without a 1/2 pound or more! Last night I bought a flat iron steak, one of my favorite cuts (wonderfully tender and typically very reasonably priced), perfect for a small family barbecue on a warm late Spring evening. I also grabbed a few feet of jalapeño cheddar pepperoni rope to snack on and of course some candied salmon. My protein-loving brother gave my haul a 10 out of 10, I can probably never show up to his place ever again without a stop first at B & E!

Natalie C.

Yelp
I've been in here a few times and every time the staff has been completely unfriendly, acting like it was unreasonable that I would want only half of a 5lb chuck roast, and like I'm a dumb idiot wasting their time by asking about different varieties of steak. The meat may be decent quality but it's not worth being treated with disdain to get it.
google avatar

Seneca G.

Yelp
Really good butcher shop. They have a nice range of fresh cuts to pick from including some of the biggest steaks I've seen. If you're looking to grill up a special steak, whether beef lamb or otherwise, you can't do much better. We got a marinated flank steak and it was flavorful and grilled perfectly. They also have some lunch meats, but I don't think these were cured in-house. The other half of the shop has a lot of seafood, but a lot was frozen. I'm not sure if that is so they can keep it a little longer, but I have a hard time paying $30 a pound for frozen scallops. We did get a little of the smoked salmon, which was really good, and not much more than the mass produced kind you get at the grocery store. The service was a little snarky. I asked about a few of the snack meats like jerky and pepperoni and instead of just telling me about them got the, "get all of them" kind of remark. I just want a recommendation or a little more detail. How spicy is it, which do you prefer, and why. But that little hiccup aside, everything was very good.

Yelp
I am a personal assistant and the woman I work for love this shop. I hadn't ever been to a butcher before and so when I called to place her order they were so understanding. The pork chops were so gorgeous and were so easily able to pay and go. I am so grateful for the kindness shown to me from the staff here and now I can order any of her meat requests with ease from this location! Thanks for the best customer experience!!!

Yelp
B& E has been my go shop since the early 80's! Kind, respectful, helpful service always Excellent meats and seafood, great smoking of meats and sausages I bring in. I love the Des Moines store and Dena is my favorite-such a sweetheart
google avatar

Alyson M.

Yelp
The meat and customer service are both top notch at B & E. My favorite items are the homemade breakfast sausage and jerky. Every flavor of the breakfast sausage is sweet and delightfully fatty; not too much fat not too little. My mouth is watering just thinking about them. The jerky is also amazing. The spicy flavor is my favorite. It's not too spicy though in case heat is not your thing. They will also give you a small taste to help you decide on flavors as well. I also frequently get t-bones there. If they don't have any out or not the size you want, they will cut them for you. The guys are very knowledgeable and passionate about meat. They are a wealth of knowledge about how to prepare everything, and talk to you from a place of love and passion and never talk down to you which I appreciate. The prices are definitely higher than the grocery store but you are getting top notch product and service so it is worth it to me. I will continue to come here for years to come.

Yelp
A must for Meats and Seafood if you live on or near Queen Anne. Great selection of top notch meat, seafood and more, and so well priced. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and helps you along with your choices. You can tell they take pride in their work, and are just as excited by what you are making as you are! Highly recommend their eggs, I will now only buy their local eggs. They carry Hemplers bacon which is delish! Whether for a special dinner or any night of the week, this is a must! It's fun too to just check out what they have.

Nicole D.

Yelp
B&E is one of our favorite spots. Such great treats, candy salmon, crab cakes, stuffed salmon.... Cannot go wrong. Plus, everyone who works there is so nice and amazing!

Chris S.

Yelp
We used B & E to process and ship salmon we caught while vacationing in Seattle. The staff was rude and the fish shipped 2 days after we were told it would and arrived in a styrofoam container with 2 gel packs. It was completely thawed and warm. We spent nearly $200 on fish that had to be thrown out: a complete waste....

Yelp
Damn. I had a very bad experience here on Saturday morning before the Husky game against Fresno State. I went in with my daughter and purchased the following: 8 Brats 8 Italian Sausages 4 Hot Italian Susages 10 Hebrew National Dogs 10 Regular Hot Dogs The total was just over $100. The person helping me was quite rude throughout the process, never smiled, very matter-of-fact. That's fine, even though I was with my daughter. Then, he says to me that if I am going to come in and place an order this large, I should call in advance to tell them my order. First off, I didn't think the order was that large. Second, I have no idea what I want to buy until I walk in there. Nevertheless, I nicely asked the best way to do that since I don't know what they have in stock. I think I said something along the lines of: "What would be the best way to do that since I don't know what I want or what you have until I get to the store?" His response, in a rude tone, was: "well, you are wiping us out here, we just put all this stuff out for display and now we have to restock." Completely shocked! There were like 8 people working in the store. I bought maybe 1/8th of the displayed brats and sausages. Yes, I bought all of the displayed Hebrew National dogs. Totally ridiculous service. Anyway, I have had good experiences in the past here. Prices are a bit high, but I always support my local stores. I will give them another shot, but if this general rude service happens again, I will stop going here and tell others in my neighborhood the same. I definitely miss A&J's at this point.

Yelp
This place has very high quality meat. Great service that reminds me of the straightforward, no-nonsense customer service I often experienced living in New York. The only issue is that on several visits I have asked where the meat comes from, and not a single time has an employee been more specific than Oregon, Washington, or Idaho. One of the great benefits of living in the Northwest is access to locally sourced meats. I would have more trust in the products here if I knew what farms I was buying from.
google avatar

Kelley D.

Yelp
Great place to source local meats and seafood I came here to get bones and pieces for my bone broth they are a great local butcher. They are knowledgeable and helpful. Love the personalized service.
google avatar

S V.

Yelp
I always like supporting local. This meat store has been around for ages. The service isn't always friendly, but better than before it was sold. One issue is there are no labels for organic, grass fed, etc. their amazing tasting candied salmon is actually Atlantic salmon (think heavy metals), so bummed about finding that out when we have access to the best salmon in the Northwest.
google avatar

Shelly M.

Yelp
Great quality and service. They get very busy but thwy still keep up with the pace nicely! Great team work...great choices and stock of rare (hard to find quality products) I LOVE the assortment of local and non local sauces and spices too. If you're a cook and or love to grill and entertain this is a one stop shop. Love this place
google avatar

Sandy W.

Yelp
I bought a groupon for B&E in the hopes of finding frenched pork chops. Not sure why these type of pork chops are so hard to find in this area. Not only did I get the most tender and moist pork chops I think that I have ever had, but I also purchased a porterhouse that was to die for!! It was pricey, but worth every penny!! These guys know their business. They are very professional and friendly and I will most certainly be returning along with spreading the news to my friends here in Ballard.

Grace W.

Yelp
Des Moines location is my go-to butcher when I want a quality piece of red meat. I feel kind of special when visiting this location because I am remembered by name, I know I am going to receive a quality piece of meat. Any beef lover will tell you beef purchased from this butcher shop is exceptional to any beef purchased in a conventional grocery store. I have purchased everything from my Christmas roast beast to my ground meat for chili. My next project is braised short ribs...can't wait to get back. Oh yeah, they also have other goodies like fresh clams for my homemade clam chowder! ;D
google avatar

Victoria C.

Yelp
Great local butcher with fresh, unique offerings. Prices are comparable to your local corporate grocer, but a much better selection. For example, they have delicious breakfast sausages with interesting flavors and ingredients. I once purchased the blueberry breakfast links which were perfectly balanced in savory-ness and sweetness. Plus, they are fairly large for breakfast links, about 4 links per pound. Glad I live just a few blocks away.

Cooper E.

Yelp
Updated rating to four stars. Glad they're wearing masks now and limiting the number of people in the store. Thanks.

Nico S.

Yelp
I am incredibly disappointed with B&E. I went in a few weeks before Christmas to order a fresh duck, thinking I would help my local butcher out. They told me they would have no problem, and I went on my merry way. I showed up the day before Christmas to pick it up, and to my surprise, it was simply the same pre-packaged frozen duck from 2000 miles away that they have in their freezers. Apparently their idea of "fresh duck" and "good service" is simply moving a frozen duck to their cooler to thaw for me. The kicker: they charged me $38. I was running out of time so I begrudgingly paid and went off. Only later do I find that the same exact ducks from the same exact farm in Indiana are sold for $14 in other supermarkets. I never went back.

Mark S.

Yelp
Having a neighborhood butcher is truly a privilege, so I can't say that I'm not somewhat self-invested in writing this review--I definitely want them to keep doing what they're doing! The quality of their meats and seafood is reliably high, and they'll get custom cuts for you if you give them enough heads up. I would like it if they emphasized more which of their meats and seafood were locally sourced, grass fed, and from what farms/seas, but that's a nitpick. Overall, if you're interested in getting a great cut of meat for your next meal, I'd suggest B&E!
google avatar

Sandra D.

Yelp
So glad I found this butcher in my neighborhood. Always fresh and prices are unbeatable!
google avatar

Jacqueline P.

Yelp
Awesome congrats lace to buy meat chicken or fish. They will make your bbq the best x

Matt R.

Yelp
Great service, nice selection, and decent prices. I called ahead for some thick cut beef back ribs for my Big Green Egg and these guys had a few in the cooler they gladly set aside for me. If you're looking for top quality meats and nice, knowledgeable, staff- I recommend you swing by.
google avatar

Ed E.

Yelp
This is the best butcher I have found on the west coast! Fast and friendly staff who believe in providing individualized service. Extremely knowledgeable teams at all locations. I honestly could not recommend any butcher over B & E no matter your needs.

Jennifer T.

Yelp
Clean, friendly and fresh. We purchased a nice filet, broiled it and it came out excellent! Very tender. We will be back.

Kaiser K.

Yelp
Clean very helpful and gives you samples. Ask anything and they will provide answers and if they don't know they will make every effort to find out. Meats look fresh and taste good.

Cynthia L.

Yelp
We have used B&E Meats & Seafood for the past 4 years for our salmon filleting, smoking, and vacuum packing. If we could give them more than 5 stars, we would. They have been extremely professional, good listeners who have delivered the fish exactly as ordered. One minor miscommunication at the Newcastle location resulted in a truly "5-star" solution.

Michael P.

Yelp
My wife and I live 1300 miles away and have enjoyed buying several hundreds of meat. Some jurk said when ordering that much meat call it in??4 guys working not busy at all.I told him we look at what we buy.He acted like he was busy.Never again will I spend 800.00+ in meats at Queen Anne. The other guys were great,Always one bad apple in every sack.

Yelp
i love having a local butcher especially since i'm a lazy, ill-informed cook; i can go in here, tell them i'm clueless & they'll give me advice on what, how much & how to cook. even better, their marinated meats are all delicious & nearly idiot proof.

Ellen S.

Yelp
I had a terrible experience at the Queen Anne location and with the social media management. They had no masks on their staff. I called ahead the day before to order and pay my bill to limit interaction as much as possible. Explained I was autoimmune and vulnerable. They wouldn't take my card in advance or deliver to my car. They did nothing to manage customers in the store. The store was busy with some customers wearing masks, others that didn't. Their staff was working very close together easily passing spray back and forth. The guy who rang up my bill literally stood with his mouth uncovered leaning over my head while I signed. His mouth was less than 2 feet from my face. When I privately wrote to them in a Messenger the response was very Trumpian saying their staff had the "right" to do whatever they want. They weren't going to enforce masks. I'm not going back!
