Three of us went to Bandit Taco for a late lunch. We ordered a Skirt Steak Taco, a Shrimp Taco, an Al Pastor Bowl, and Sweet Plantains. We also got bottled water, Mexican Fanta, and Mexican Coke from the nearby fridge.
Our food came out quickly and was delivered as each item became ready.
The tacos are street size and each has two tortillas under the filling. Hubby said the steak was good and decided to dip some of it into the what he thought was Salsa Rioja he picked up at the sauce station. It might have been the Habanero. His face and eyes quickly became red and watery, and he coughed. The salsa was spicier than he expected, and he quickly used the Salsa Verde and swigged his Mexican Coke. He enjoyed the Crispy Shrimp Taco although it was a couple of bites before he got to the shrimp.
I enjoyed the Al Pastor Bowl. It had hot white rice and black beans that contrasted well with the cool shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, pineapple tidbits, shredded mozzarella, and sour cream. I appreciated the freshness of the ingredients and the flavors.
The plantains were sweet and soft with caramelized ends, and they had a light, sweet glaze. They stayed very warm as we ate them. The plantains were my favorite as I really enjoyed the caramelized ends. Although it came with sour cream, I never felt a need for it.
Prior to sitting, I looked around for a table that seats 4, and there were only tables for 2 and groups of 6 to 8. We sat at a large wooden table that had a wooden bench on one side and three metal chairs on the other. There was plenty of upbeat music playing although not too loud.
If you are looking for cheaper tacos, they have select tacos for $2.50 on Tuesdays.
I definitely want to go back to try the Street Corn and a few other things.
