Bando Belly Review - Peckham - London - The Infatuation

"A stall on the sixth floor of Peckham Levels, this soul food-influenced spot’s menu has a mix of everything. Think things like a banh mi cheesesteak sub which should come with a “Will Stain Your T-Shirt” warning, and some pulled lamb bara tacos that are equal parts meaty, herby, and messy. The food here is pretty decent, and though we wouldn’t necessarily hop on a train to eat here, it’s a solid option if you’re already in the area. Plus, they’ve got deep-fried oreos on the menu, which means you’re pretty much sorted for dessert." - Rianne Shlebak

I went to The Duke of Edinburgh to watch a football game. The atmosphere was fantastic, busy but not packed. When we first tried to order, the system was down and we would get an error message saying kitchen is closed for the day. Almost 20 minutes later, the system was back up and we ordered 2 chicken burgers, we got the confirmation and then the waiting game started. We waited for 60 minutes but still no confirmation arrived so I head over to the counter. There were 4 employees behind the counter, of which 2 of them were doing nothing. When I asked the question about how long until the meal would be prepared the person was rude and disrespectful. Waited 15 minutes more and still nothing. At that point, I went again and complained once more. Same attitude but 5 minutes later the food was ready. Unfortunately the dietary requirements I’ve requested weren’t met so had to wait again. The whole experience impacted the evening. It’s disappointing given the fact that food is really good and the atmosphere at the pub was great.

I came here over the bank holiday weekend, they were quite busy so had ran out of a few things. I ended up getting the buff ting and it did not disappoint! Came back a few days later for the honey butt and mac and cheese balls and again I was not disappointed. The food here is tooo good - fresh and made with love

Honey butter chicken is hands down the BEST chicken burger I’ve ever had in my life!! I went to visit my friends pop up event they had at Peckham levels and we couldn’t get enough of the food. Staff were so friendly and really welcoming ❤️ Can’t wait to go back

Tacos comes before my family in my top priority and the steak tacos were probably the best I ever had. Amazing food, and you have to get the fried oreos for dessert. Thank you for that amazing experience

Honestly if I could zero I would, me and a friend visited over the bank holiday weekend after having some amazing food at bando belly in the Peckham branch a year or so ago. The lady at the counter was extremely rude and abrupt when I asked a simple question about the menu, the way she snapped was so uncalled for! Even her staff was shocked. I’ve since found out that it was the owner Naz who spoke to me in such a way. I won’t be returning and supporting businesses such as this that don’t appreciate their customers! Thanks for your response and apology- I wasn’t made aware the counter was closed when I arrived, I also wasn’t aware of the competition taking place as I came as a paying customer who happened to have a day out in Brixton so you should never just assume.

At first I wasn't sure how this was going to go down as I'm a fussy person with take aways but on a level the burgers here are banging!!! And I've got a serious sweet tooth so I had to try out the deep fried Oreo things ..and yeah full Ratings to this place.... To add the veiw from seating area is nice on a sunny day ..

Honestly some of the best food I've ever eaten - the flavours are insane! The banh mi cheesesteak is probably my favourite. Highly recommend visiting this place and trying a selection of their foods - you won't be disappointed.
