Food was tasty and fresh. Outdoor dining. Service was efficient and fast. I had the fish and chips. Came with coleslaw, shrimp cocktail, tartar sauce. The flavors were wonderful. Only wish I had a little more coleslaw and shrimp.

Had halibut fish n chips, and it was very good. I was surprised with the little shrimp cocktail made with tiny shrimp.

Excellent spot to grab a quick meal and some fishing tackle. Rock fish taco is fresh! Staff is totally chill and super positive! Outdoor seating available.

Delicious! I had the special: halibut taco with clam chowder. Best halibut ever and really great chowder too. Definitely plan to stop here again next time we’re in Bandon. Do yourself a favor: eat here! You won’t be disappointed.

Wow! Amazing seafood here. Probably the best in town. We had the calamari which was perfectly cooked and breaded and the fried oysters were incredible. Melt in your mouth! Will definitely be back! Just not a lot of seating inside.

Great experience, the cook brings the food out to you and they're real friendly. I've been going to this place since I was a kid and the food is always worth it.

This is the best fish and chips I have ever had. Wife and I were camping in Bullards Beach campground when one of the hosts were telling us about a great place to eat in Bandon - city where the park is. They said most tourists pass this place up and go to a busier restaurant. This food is so good! No dining inside, only outside. The fish is so fresh and doesn’t have very much breading at all. Very moist and delicious. Meal also comes with shrimp cocktail, coleslaw and handmade tarter sauce, if you ask. Wife had a combo meal with the same stuff I had but, in addition, prawns and oysters. So good. We got some clam chowder to go. A little expensive for large (which wasn’t big) at $8 a piece. But it was very good and we didn’t regret it. Great service and food. Highly recommend this place. Plus the bai shop has a lot of cool stuff inside.

This place is a must try!! Today I had a calamari sandwich with fries. It was cooked to perfection and so so delicious. My family orders the 5pc fish and chips. They are never disappointed!

After spending over a week looking for great fish and chips in London, we were enormously pleased to come across Bandon Bait back in our own home state and country. This is more of a 'takeaway' or sit at their outdoor tables location. There is no indoor seating, so if the weather is foul, bear that in mind. The food, however, is absolutely top-notch. We ordered both the large fish and chips as well as the shrimp and chips options. Both orders same with not only amazing sauces, but also delicious cole slaw and a cup of bay shrimp. Don't miss out on those, as they are both excellent additional that come with the meal. The batter on these fried goodies are just perfect. Nice crisp layer with excellent light texture. Don't bother with a small order...go for the large, as you'll otherwise be craving more. Now look, one of the bigger challenges with fish and chips is delivering on the chips part of the equation. How often do you order this standard and the fries are just sorta meh? Not here! The fries are excellent as well, and they stayed remarkably crispy even after they cooled off...that's something noteworthy! Service was straightforward and efficient. Pricing was great for what you get.

My favorite place in Bandon! Great selection,for fishing, lots of unique stuff to choose from, I also got lunch, which was phenomenal for the price! Good for a quick bite or tackle!

Best fish and chips and chowder we had on our trip to Bandon, Gold Beach and Brookings. Service is great. Staff was friendly and helpful and remembered us when we returned for round two! Breading is light and not greasy. They have fresh lemons which I love with my seafood. Chowder is creamy and perfect flavor. Try this unsuspecting place for your next favorite lunch or dinner. It is a walk up counter to order the food. You can take to go or they have several picnic tables outside that are protected from the wind. Close to the waterfront. Food came out quickly too.

The food at the Bandon Bait Shop is delicious as always .On top of that, the staff is very friendly and welcoming. It's a great place to grab a bite and enjoy the view. 10/10

Service was great. We got two orders of fish and chips, and while the flavor was okay, the pieces were tiny and don't justify the price. Not worth it imo.

A cute family owned shop where you can get the best food in town! The food fresh, the fish is delicious, the service is quick, and the people are friendly! Feels like home! On a sunny day, chill out, have your fish and chips! I got the combo and it was amazing! A must see, go-to place!

Best fish and chips. It's not greasy at all. They don't smother the fish in batter. They use a seasoning that lightly coats the fish. The halibut is delicious with a lemon seasoning. I almost forgot to mention the have delicious cocktail sauce.

All ashore going ashore! If you're looking for tasty fish & chips, Bandon Bait is a must! Let's start with the man with piercing blue eyes who will take your order. He's super nice, and is happy to recommend items from their menu. The menu has a variety of items from shrimp, to frog legs. All can be fried/come fried. We both ordered the fish n chips. The fish is freshly caught, and is flaky, tasty, and just yum. The fish definitely could've used some seasoning, or a little bit more seasoning. The crust is more of a cornmeal, and I'm still that deep fried kind of girl. It was still very tasty. To the point that while I asked for extra tartar sauce, it really did not need it. I did ask for some malt vinegar which is not the norm for this location, and I was given packets of Heinz mulch vinegar. Not a great product to begin with, and I definitely did not help with the fish experience Once you order at the counter, you go grab your own seat, wherever you can find one, and they will find you and bring you your food. The foods reasonably priced, generous servings, and you'll see why they are always busy. Always. Now you may be asking yourself about the bait part of this location... Since they're literally right by the water, people do come in and purchase bait and other things and go fishing themselves. It just works. Parking is free, but definitely you need to be patient when looking for it. The parking lot serves numerous businesses in the area, once you're parked, you're gonna want to walk through the cute little village, visit the stores, etc. Great food, great service, and a great experience!

Everything, food was pretty good I had the chicken sandwich and my wife had the fish and chips. Great outdoor seating under the roof top. Give it a try. Like most chicken sandwiches it was a little dry, but the chicken was good.

Had a large Fish and Chips! Delicious! I had ordered a half and they inadvertently made me the full size and gave it to me with a laugh and a smile. Literal Bait Shop supplies along with outdoor seating and a small indoor counter.

Bandon Bait shop has the best fish & chips and even in their top sesión you don't have to wait an hour in line . I give them a 9 1/2.

I am always so impressed by the food at Bandon Bait! I do also go there to get my crabbing license and bait but the food is where it's at. It's so convenient to have both at one location right by the dock. On this visit, I ordered the fish and chips which were amazing! The local black rock cod tasted like it was caught that morning. It was fried in the lightest batter that had the best spices. I dipped it in their house Tartar sauce and it was *chef's kiss*. They even include a little container of yummy bay shrimp. They have outdoor picnic tables where you can eat in the sun and gaze at the water. A great stop for a quick lunch! We visited a few times while crabbing in Bandon and what I really appreciated is that they took my partner's shellfish allergy very seriously. Usually it's difficult to find a place that is safe for him to eat at in a shellfish town but they fried all of his food in a separate fryer and made sure nothing came in contact with his food every time.

This was a surprise. Some of the best fish and chips I've had. Took some friends my next visit and they agreed. Friendly staff. Cute little covered area to eat.

All their food is wonderful because it's all handmade. The fish tacos are my favorite. They have a full on bait shop and you can get your fishing license there. Places to sit out of the wind and in the sun. The boardwalk restrooms are very close and you're always greeted with a friendly face that wants to help you out anyway they can. They also had a refrigerated display case full of delicious smoked in house yummy's

Great little fish and chips place. Really good fish and amazing chips. The only reason for 4 stars vs 5 is that last year we went to a place in coos bay that was hand down the best fish and chips I've ever had and this was choose but not quite as good. Would definitely come back

Don't let the outside fool you, the food is 11/10 and the service is kind, friendly and welcoming. We had the calamari, fish and chips and fried oyster burrito. Definitely recommend!!

If you want to find the best fish tacos and sandwiches using local caught fish along with a variety of other smoked fish items go no further than Bandon Bait. It's a bait store but also has a small kitchen that produces the best food in Bandon. The staff is also very friendly. You won't be disappointed.

Very nice people. My husband got a fish sandwich and said it was fine. I had calamari strips with fries and coleslaw plus a mini shrimp cocktail. All was tasty. Calamari was nice and tender. Didn't have any complaints but have had better.

I had my dog in the car and the person who took my order brought my food out to me so I could wait with her on their patio. The fish and chips were excellent. Great service and food (and I was shielded from the wind).

We were doing a seafood tour of the coast! This was one of our absolute favorites!!! Soooo good!

What a treasure. I went to Bandon, OR for a family gathering. They brought us here for fish and chips. Serious kudos to the 1 women running the entire operation. Taking food orders, cooking, and the cashier for the actual bait shop. She was polite, helpful, and surprisingly quick considering she was doing it all alone. I decided on the local rockfish and chips. It came with at least 3 nice sized pieces that were perfectly cooked and flavorful, a side of bay shrimps with their stellar cocktail sauce, and tarter sauce that was clearly homemade. The food was delicious and eating on their patio in this cute little town was wonderful! You really can't beat, fresh and local with a smile. If I am ever in the area again I will for sure return!

We ended up here since Tony's Crab Shack was way too packed. I will say it was ok. We ordered clam chowders and the calamari which came with fries, a little container of shrimp cocktail and coleslaw. The clam chowder was not super great, tasted like it came from a decent can of soup. The calamari strips were soggy which was a disappointment. The shrimp cocktail was just ok, not very flavorful. The coleslaw was actually pretty good which was surprising considering I don't care for coleslaw usually. Fries were also pretty good.

I love the location of this place right on the boardwalk. The server was awesome and catered to our massive order. The fish and chips were good but did not blow me away. The fries were alright and so was the clam chowder. There was not a ton of clams. To be honest I have had better. There are three similar fish markets right next to each other here, next time I will probably try another.

The fish and chips are, well, perhaps the best you will run across and the service friendly. I have been coming here for many years and it has always been consistent, even when Diane the owner is gone. When in the area, worth the stop. Make sure to say hello to Scoo-Be-Do if his master is working!

My husband & I eat here frequently. The seafood is excellent, and the breading is light and not soaked with oil like some other contenders are. We also found out that The Bait Shop has BombDiggity burgers, too. You can not go wrong with the little place across from The Arcade Tavern. The Bait Shop... not just bait.... scrumptious food for happy belly rubs.

Excellent food in an unexpected location. Not fancy or expensive, but the food & service are great! If it's stormy or too chilly for their picnic tables, there is a glass-walled enclosure across the parking lot to enjoy the harbor view while you eat.

We love Bandon. Often we come here and eat oysters and fish and walk the beach. We researched fish & chips all up and down the Oregon coast and have to say that the fish & chips here at the bait shop is among the best. Fresh rock cod with a tasty batter and delicious tartar sauce make it an eaters delight. The shrimp cocktail adds a tasty detail not seen anywhere else. The chips are made with real potatoes. Amazing. And the service was courteous and prompt! We will return here. They use recyclable containers too Only slight negative is they need to add more or larger napkins.

I love finding places like this! Thanks, yelpers!! Someone else mentioned styrofoam...the takeout containers that I received are comparable! The cocktail cup was styrofoam, but it seems like they're making an effort to be more eco friendly, yay! Local rockfish was excellent! Entrees are affordable (for fresh, local fish) and come with tartar sauce (homemade), ketchup, shrimp cocktail, fries, AND coleslaw. I think my rockfish was less than $14, or maybe that was the calamari. My son had calamari (same meal deal) and loved it. The squid is from Newport...local enough for me! The shrimp cocktail was really tasty too, and the sauce is homemade...a real horseradish kick, so if you're sensitive, go easy! :P Super friendly guy working!! Yum. This is a local gem. (Also, the fish breading is DAIRY FREE!).

I taught all day and didn't have time to eat. Was starving when I stopped in. Ordered a cappuccino and burger. Both were delicious. Counter staff friendly. Don't come for ambiance, if you're sitting inside. I mean it's also a bait shop. Everything else is awesome.

Blew my mind how a "fresh" fish fry should taste like. We had the seafood combo featuring rock cod, prawns and oysters. Everything was lightly seasoned to emphasize the freshness of the main ingredients, and we got a sample taste of the delicious shrimp cocktail. You cannot go wrong here, they really care about how everything comes together. Clam chowder was bomb to.

Lady was super nice, I really wanted to like the fish tacos. I couldn't believe how much sauerkraut was in the fish taco, I even tried scraping it out and it was still so strong... kinda sad I paid all that money for something I really could not eat.

This is the BEST FISH and CHIPS you will ever have. EVER! We are from San Francisco and spend time on East Coast as well, and nothing compares to the Bandon Bait Shop for excellence in food. We always get the Seafood and Chips and besides the Fish and Chips, the Prawns and Chips are Epic!!! If you like fresh seafood and are not a fan of tempura, or of beer battered or corn meal coated anything, then this place will knock your socks off. This is the BEST of BANDON, but really the BEST of the Pacific Northwest. Forgot the silly uninformed reviews for Tony's next door, BANDON BAIT in Old Town Bandon is Epic and a must stop!

Okay, if you love clam chowder, go no where else. It seems funny that a bait shop would make such good food. Try their fish and chips too. Best in Bandon!

Of the three seafood restaurants on the wharf area in Bandon this is a favorite. The mixed fried prawn and oyster basket, complete w a tiny shrimp cocktail was fantastic!

Great spot, don't let the bait shop name fool you. I had prawns my in-law had the rock code fish and chips. The meal came with fries and a few bites of coleslaw and shrimp cocktail. A complete meal. No more styrofoam containers either, yeah!

The Smoked Tuna Sandwich is amazing, as is the side slaw. For kids, the fried Macaroni Bites kept the kids happy. And the clam chowder is loaded with clam chunks. The Brandon Bait Shop is definitely worth the stop to eat on the benches out front or to get food to go.
