Bangalow Dining Room

Extensive menu, plenty of the usual pub grub, children are catered for with pasta or chicken nuggets. Dining/drinking has some cosy seating options apart from enclosed verandah or dining room. Try the delicious Beef Ragu Fettuccine or the Ginger Battered Fish + Chips. Parking can be a problem in the street so try behind the pub first.

Bangalow pub used to be our local before friendly staff left, food quality dived while prices went right up. A new FB ad promising 'chefs trying to outcompete each other' got us in. The place was nearly empty as it mostly is when we pass by these days. Maybe because it was a Sunday. Maybe most locals are staying away. The staff were efficient. We ordered meatballs. It looked good but neither of us liked it or finished our plate. There was no flavour. How hard is it to throw in a handful of chopped saltanas etc to make it richly satisfying? I also had to bite carefully as I encountered grit & didn't want a hefty dental bill from boring food. My partner just told me he had grit in his food too. The place looks a bit worn out & needs a bit of investment. It used to be cranking with a friendly atmosphere. At one point they had a fantastic french chef with amazing food. We went every week & so did half the town. What a shame.

The beer was cold and the staff quite helpful, but the food was not particularly good. The salads were OK, but the ginger beer battered fish was cold and greasy. The sweet potato chips were a blob of chips all clung together. Another diner had the wagyu burger which was very rare and only browned on the outside, a bit of lettuce. The potato chips were probably the best part if the meal, but very few cooks can fail with potato chips. We like rare steak, but think a burger should be fully cooked. So, all in all I think it was a pretty poor attempt.

Delicious selection on offer. I had warm olives and a pint from the bar as starter and and the rolled pork as a main. Not disappointed. Would order again. Staff were friendly and well versed on all menu items.

Great food and beer, but whoever does the music deserves an award. The Smiths followed by Black Sabbath, outstanding!

The Bangalow Dining Room is a great place to eat, the service is impeccable, the food delicious, a fabulous wine list and the staff are happy and very helpful. Highly recommended.

Stopped here for lunch with parents and it was wonderful in all aspects you would ask for
