Google
Every other good opinion about this place is valid. In the midst of a place that can be so chaotic; this place a calm, serene type of atmosphere. Taste and texture were on point. Everything well balanced, service was prompt and prices were fair and the place was clean. It's actually difficult to find a place that checks this many boxes at once but this place was quietly impressive.. this place gets a high recommended from me.

Google
Amazing taste and large portion size! We ordered the Spicy Fish Fillet and the Thai BBQ Chicken entrees. Both came with their own serving of steam rice. The taste of the food was very flavorful. It is not too spicy like some other Thai places but tastes great regardless. The parking was very convenient right in front of the restaurant. Seems like they gave us an older menu with lower prices but they honored the old price when I pointed it out to them. Will probably come back to this restaurant if they keep prices reasonable.

Google
Great spot for vegetarian options. We had the Thai iced tea with boba and golden tofu to start (crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, we fell in love at the first bite!!). The Spicy Lad Nah was delicious, so flavorful! I love me some flat noodles and the gravy/sauce was perfect. The Pad See Ew was okay. Much subtler flavour, but I like strong flavours.

Google
The food quality was exceptional!!! There were lots of vegetables and the the flavors were enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Google
Such a beautiful restaurant! Music was very nice, and interior was spot on. Very clean. Our waiter was very humble. Anything on the menu is substituted for tofu!!!!!! I got pad ke mow with tofu, and it was so good! It had a distinct smoky flavor that was so good! Yummy

Google
The food was good and filling. The employee up front was super nice and quick to get to us and the others. The atmosphere was so calm and relaxing and comfortable. I would definitely visit again if I lived close.

Google
Overall, I had a mixing feeling for this restaurant. First, for service, the servers are very nice but give me a feeling of newbie. They are very cautious and look like so afraid they do something wrong, so it seems like they are scared to serve. For food, the price is generally lower than others, maybe because the portion is slightly off, so that's why. I would strong suggest NOT to order the soft shell crab there as it is really bad in my opinion. I have tried the same dish in many different restaurants, and pretty sure this is the worst ever

Google
Decent Thai, got the spicy noodles and spicy fried rice. Both should have been spicier, was fairly subtle. Good mix of fresh vegetables in the dishes. Thai tea was tasty, not excessively sweet. Staff seemed put off by us wanting to eat in and be served, instead of getting takeout.

Yelp
I love this place. I have literally been eating here since they opened. The customer service is awesome. The owner is a jewel. She always ensures the customers are enjoying the food and enjoying the ambiance. Typically when I go, Kevin helps me. His customer service is impeccable, as well as the other servers who work there. The food is delicious as well. I typically get thai basil shrimp from the lunch menu. Off of the regular menu, I get the Bangkok Secret Sauce, Spicy Catfish or the Seafood Noodle Soup. All of my favorites. This place is consistent with their food and their flavors. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
We flew in to LAX to see a concert the following evening and were feeling the urge to have Thai food. After looking around, decide upon Bangkok Grill and took an Uber over. The service was great, but the only confusing thing for me was deciphering the American names for all the dishes when I'm used to the Thai names utilized in restaurants many of the other places I travel and live. No biggie! I was able to educate the server what each dish meant and how it was said in Thai. The place was clean and peaceful; the food was wonderful! I couldn't eat the whole thing so are the other half for lunch the following day. The cooks made a special Prik nam pla sauce for our Kaprow dish and topped it with an egg which put it over the top!

Yelp
I come here when I'm killing time for traffic on the Slow-0-5 aka 405 to calm down. I get the basil crispy pork and add Chinese broccoli, I believe for $1 more. The crispy pork is NOT hard and dry like other Thai restaurants that have crispy pork as a protein option. Service is usually quick and easy.

Yelp
Bangkok Grill is a solid spot for some Thai food. The service is decent, the ambiance isn't bad, and the food satisfies the craving for Thai food. They have a large selection of options, so the menu might be overwhelming to some, I recommend checking it out beforehand. Reasonably priced dishes and good serving sizes too (all the main dishes came with a side of rice). I want to come back and try a few of the other dishes, below is everything I tried this time: 5/5 - Pad Thai: wonderful pad Thai exactly what I expected, probably the safest option to order if you don't know what to get. 4/5 - Red Curry: not as thick of a curry as I had expected, but still pretty good. 3.5/5 - Spicy Pineapple: a very unique dish that seems like a stir fry of sorts with giant pineapple chunks. I liked the concept, but it wasn't very spicy, also pretty light. Food: 4/5 Service: 3.5/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 Value: 4/5 Overall: 3.75/5

Yelp
It was Friday night and I was restless. I didn't want to cook but I didn't know what I wanted to eat. Eliminated Mexican Vietnamese burgers and soul food. I decided on Thai food. But where. ? I checked the yelp app. I rode by my first choice, that shall go nameless. The place was empty. Not a good look on a Friday night. My second choice was bit difficult to find if you have never been there. It is located in tiny strip mall. But boast plenty of parking. Greeted warmly and seated quickly. Service was exemplary. Order taken promptly and food was served shortly. Good food for the tummy. A oldie playlist for my ear and my eyes watched the Dodger's game. I was in Heaven !!! Did I mention the food was good. Portions were generous. Oh yes I will return and often. Kudos to the staff you guys rock!!!!

Yelp
I found Bangkok Grill scrolling through YouTube shorts. Bangkok Grill is located in Hawthorne, right off 129th Street. Let's jump right into this review. This is a family owned business, and I loved the service we received. The owner(s) was genuine and engaging. Just down to Earth, folks. I felt like I was talking to my next-door neighbor...the neighbor you invite over for the cookout (lol). What did we have? THAI FRIED RICE - $18.00 choice of meat stir-fried with egg, onion, green onion, and tomato garnished with fresh cucumber Meat Choice - chicken - Flavorful and delicious! GARLIC PEPPER -$15 choice of meat sauteed with fresh garlic and pepper served on a bed of steamed vegetables Meat Choice - shrimp - This is it! Talk about a dish with tons of flavor and spice. The vegetables were steamed to perfection. The broccoli was a beautiful green color, had a crunch, and was a nice compliment to the dish. ORANGE CHICKEN - $15 crispy battered chicken coated in homemade sauce - great flavor, but the outside coating was overpowering. More batter than chicken. EGG ROLLS - $8 mixture of vegetables wrapped in egg roll skin, deep fried and served w/ sweet & sour sauce - Wasn't a bad starter. On the small size, but you get six egg rolls in the order. Pros 1. Exceptional customer service. 2. Beautiful atmosphere, nicely decorated. 3. Extremely clean. 4. Quality food. The flavor in the dishes we ordered was absolutely amazing. Large portions. Cons 1. Seating inside is limited. 2. The parking lot is small, depending on how busy it is,parking could be a challenge. Check out Bangkok Grill and support a family owned business. The food is delicious, loaded with flavor. They don't compromise quality.

Yelp
Delicious!! My girl goes there once a week to get the shrimp fried rice. I get the chicken. It's one of the best I've had in long time.

Yelp
Was meeting a friend in Hawthorne and suggested meeting at a Thai place. Any Thai place. He picked here. As I was waiting for him to arrive, I noticed alot of people picking up to go orders. This was already a good sign to me. When he got there we went in. The dining area was shaped like an L and had nice decor and a calming atmosphere. I was craving pad see ew so I ordered that, ans we shared some avocado rolls. Man I didn't expect the pad see ew to hit so hard! Absolutely devine! If I'm in Hawthorne again, I'm stopping to try another dish for sure!

Yelp
Excellent curry! Loved the taste and the spices. However, I much prefer Jasmine rice over white rice. If they added that as an option this place would be hands down 5/5!
google avatar

Yelp
The food is amazing vegan rolls, crab Fried rice and the mixed tempura. All of the dishes are delicious. The service is prompt and very pleasant. The ambiance is come relax and enjoy music is a mixture for everyone to enjoy. Go, eat relax and let others know...

Yelp
Delicious Food! I had an order takeout for 5 people. The order was ready within 20 mins. Fast service Friendly customer service. I was trying it for the 1st time. Everything was so good and fresh. I would be definitely coming back.

Yelp
Okay so first off, is a nice place and was greeted nicely on our way in. However, the food was horrible, we got the Thai Boat noodle and Tom Yum seafood and both of the broth were bland. Thai flavors were non-existent. Is supposed to be a little sweet and sour and spicy but i got none of that from the broth. The portion was great but flavors were lacking big time, it could just be the noodles, perhaps other items on the menu are better, but i left the place feeling very disappointed

Yelp
It's an absolute MUST to come here. I am bonkers in love with this place. If you want wonderful service and top-notch wonderful tasting food this is place.

Yelp
My 2nd time here, ordered the same thing: Spicy pineapple with chicken, taste soo good! Staff is attentive, ambience is calming. My favorite Thai food spot.

Yelp
Bangkok Grill is an amazing Thai place that I never knew existed but am now so happy to have discovered. This place serves a great lunch special. The lunch specials are served Monday thru Friday and is $13.95. It comes with fried wonton, salad, white rice and drink. For drinks; the choices are soda, lemonade, Thai tea, milk tea and boba. There is an extra $1 for fried rice or brown rice. I came here with my mom and we each got lunch specials. We got the Green Curry with Chicken and the Pad Thai with Chicken. We shared and so I was able to try a bit of both. Out of our two lunch entrees; the Green Curry was my favorite. The Green Curry definitely has a kick to it and is be prepared it can be a bit of the spicy side. I really enjoyed the curry broth. It was perfect over white rice. They also were fairly generous with the chicken meat inside the curry. The Pad Thai was also good. It was not as sweet flavored as I would have liked and they did not have any peanuts. It was a solid Pad Thai though. I do have to note that I was surprised they served the Pad Thai with rice. In other Thai places; they usually don't include rice with noodle lunch specials. Each lunch special came with fried wontons. I loved that the wontons were filled with chicken. These were nice little sides/appetizers. The other thing I really loved about their lunch specials is that it comes with drinks. We both got the Thai tea with boba. Boba was not extra charge. They gave a huge cup of Thai tea. It was so flavorful and refreshing. The drink that comes with lunch special definitely makes the lunch special worth it. I can't believe it's taken me this long to discover this place and I definitely know I will be back again!

Yelp
To start off the service was a 0 stars. The guy was not very welcoming. Took for ever to give us the menus. When finally did come to the table with them, no communication what so ever. Honestly he looked like he was on cloud 9/ . Waited about another 10 minutes to come back to the table to take our order. We order the below items. "Spicy Seafood soup"- not spicy at all, no spice was added to it. Brought it to his attention and he said " Just add the chili yourself and pointed at the chili powered and another one that was at the side of the table. The soup was just lemony not much seafood. 2 shrimps, 4 Pieces of cod fish, 4 strips of squid. For the price and for it not to be prepared as stated in the menu. OVERPRICED! " Green Curry with chicken"- the curry was very watery, it was not appetizing at all and no taste whatsoever so ever. " Beef Broccoli- Had more carrots and broccoli than beef. This is what my son order and his order came last, it took over 45 mins for him to get it and we asked twice about and the guy kept saying it's coming and nothing. Customer that had came after us were getting their food before him. At no point the guy apologized for the delay and when he brought it to the table, he just placed on the corner of the table knowing the plate was for my son. Also order two appetizers. *Avocado Rolls- Not all that.. the tomatoes inside throws off the taste. * Spicy Wings- They are not spicy at ALL! They are sweet! It was a very disappointing lunch experience. For $100.00 We order the lunch specials also, so they come with drinks. We don't mind paying for good food and service, this was not it.. Been to way better Thai restaurants. The only good things was the music that was playing.

M P.

Yelp
The service and staff are exceptional and the restaurant is lovely and clean. However, the food has deteriorated since their opening. Soups are mostly liquid. The beef items on the menu are the worst since they use the lowest quality beef--tough, smelly and fatty.
google avatar

Maria G.

Yelp
I definitely recommend this place. Food is good, the waiter is attentive and I like it that it's relaxing with the water fountain in the background. Came back twice already.

Presley S.

Yelp
The curry here is really flavorful and has just the right amount of spice. Unfortunately, it's served with white rice, which is tough and chewy--not the best match for the curry. If you're not familiar with Thai food, it might not be a huge issue, but for those who are, it's hard to fully enjoy the dish. Thai cuisine typically avoids using white rice with curry. Most Thai restaurants serve jasmine rice, which is much softer, absorbs the sauce better, and doesn't feel like chewing on rubber bands. The white rice here kind of overpowers the curry, making the overall meal less enjoyable. The curry's great, but the rice choice definitely misses the mark.

Rose E.

Yelp
Food was very mediocre. Watered down curry with a lot of sauce and not a lot of ingredients. Not much flavor. I came for a late lunch and was only one of two people in there but the server never came back to my table. I had to get up and ask for water, for hot sauce, for my check. It was ridiculous.

Yelp
Thank you Mae!! Amazing food! Everything we ordered was awesome! The other guys from our strike team loved the food and support too! We appreciate you and your business very much! We hope all your customers or prospective customers realize how awesome you are for your kindness and how hard you work to make it all come together!

Yelp
Big drop in quality of service and big increase in price since our last visit right at the beginning of the pandemic. Lunch special is now $13.95 and no longer includes soup, we were wondering if the waiter forgot about us as it took 5 minutes for the menus to arrive and another 10 before he came to take the order and then 10 more for the food to arrive. When the food was brought to the table we asked for soy sauce and chili, waited another 5 minutes that to arrive, just too much time wasted for what should have been a quick lunch. $13.95, + tax and even a small tip brings you in at $16.50, so many better options for the price, add in the slow service and it's off our list for lunches in the future.

Jy A.

Yelp
Really bad service. Took 45mins to get my food. Ordered two plates and they came out 40mins apart. No utensils. No water. No server in the hall. The manager May was chatting at another customers table for 20mins while I waited 45mins for my food. My first review in years. Do better.
google avatar

Angel M.

Yelp
I've been coming to this restaurant for a while, even before the pandemic. The food is always great and the service lacks sometimes but I never had an issue until today. The steps of service were not in order and the servers had a negative attitude and were not friendly. At the time there were only 2 other tables. We waited a while to get our order in (which I've been patient about before since the food is good), the appetizers came out first then our drinks, the drinks were made incorrectly, and the server slammed our waters on the table. I'd definitely come back for the food, but service needs work.

Elandra K.

Yelp
Excellent food great staff and a clean up beat environment... Thank you Mae and your entire team!
google avatar

Genesis M.

Yelp
This is my go-to Thai spot since pre-Covid. Food still tastes fresh every time and service is great. Prices are a tad higher (where aren't they?) but definitely still worth it.
google avatar

Mirna G.

Yelp
Food was great with very good taste, but our second waiter was a bit rude when I asked for some white rice, telling me that it didn't come with the soup, in which I knew that but that was not my question. overall a comfy place. I would recommend it and give it a thumps up.
google avatar

Cynthia E.

Yelp
Flavorful that's how I would describe Bangkok Grill. My crab noodles were delicious. This is definitely a place that I will return. I was told it has been open for 13 years wow can't believe I missed it but happy I found it.

Edward R.

Yelp
I ordered Tom Yum and Tom Kha Kai and it does not come with vegetables and the price is very very expensive. It is not worth it. Just go to a different restaurant.
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
Let's start off by saying all was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Now with the back story, we (my husband and I) landed at LAX and we were completely starved and bogged down from our travel day... after a coin toss Thai food it was... we selected Bangkok Grill for all the right reasons, plus the delightful yelp reviews. Now on to our order... chicken Panang curry, one boba Thai tea, and two orders of chicken satay...perked us up right away... and made us feel like two teenagers (happy-go-lucky) after consuming these delicious entrees. Excellent staff and customer service, we will always return to this location when we visit Los Angeles again!
google avatar

Mika D.

Yelp
I always get there pad se ew and or pad soon sen chicken so delicious, very flavorful medium spicy
google avatar

Steven L.

Yelp
Located in a small plaza with their own parking lot. This restaurant is small but cozy. The Pad Thai and the Pineapple Fried Rice (Bland) was So So nothing phenomenal to write home about. Service here was slow, and the prices are a little high for the amount of food you receive.
google avatar

Mila E.

Yelp
I recently discovered this gem and I'm so happy I did! I ordered the seafood Pad Thai and fresh rolls to go. The food was delicious and very fresh. Was pleasantly surprised and I can't wait to order again.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food and fast service. I always call ahead and pick up. Pad Thai, crab noodles and Thai tea!
google avatar

Suzie M.

Yelp
The food and service is always in point. I would frequent the restaurant for dining in but during the pandemic I started take out and I have not been dissatisfied at all ! I now place my orders to go more frequently and love the flavor !
google avatar

Lissay L.

Yelp
Best Thai food in Hawthorne, top 3 in the South Bay. My family and I order from Bangkok Grill at least once a month. Our go to is fried rice w/shrimp, green curry w/chicken, Chinese broccoli w/crispy pork, and pad Thai w/shrimp. We sometimes get the papaya salad and pad see ew too. Love this place!
google avatar

Martha G.

Yelp
This was our second time here . And finally we found a place where everything we've gotten to eat is fantastic. Great customer service Vanessa was great. Orange chicken is so fluffy and crisp. Everything taste fresh. When we go back we try to get something different each time. Ambiance is cute and small
google avatar

Adrienne B.

Yelp
Their beef and broccoli and wonton soup are delicious! Prices went up but where haven't they?
google avatar

Armen A.

Yelp
I am obsessed with this restaurant! I come to Hawthorne for work from time to time and I have no problems returning to Bangkok Grill, each time! I came in and was promptly seated and I ordered the lunch special: pad Thai, veggie soup and a Thai iced tea boba! ($9.95). The speed at which my food was brought to me was mind blowing. Soup and drink within 1.5 minutes! The entree within 5 minutes. Everything tasted amazing and was freshly made! I will definitely be back!

S. A.

Yelp
Went back for lunch today - the lunch specials and the service are hard to beat! This could easily become a regular lunch hangout.
google avatar

Ana K.

Yelp
The food five stars. I order here once for pick up I love the chicken curry with white rice. So my best friend and I came for lunch to dine in... love the feel of the place. 14 bucks and some change for so we order the yellow chicken curry that came with rice and salad and chicken wonton. My friend ordered pork with veggies, rice, salad and wonton. Also we order a tempura sampler. The service was not good.. no utensil... we had to aske the waiter. The waiter was annoyed by us. I guess cause of our kids but he told us he doesn't speak English. We asked what would he recommend that bomb to try. I was put off by his attitude. I was like only us and another family in there. It wasn't busy. Other waiter was cool kept checking on us once we got our food fives later we decided to go because our kids were getting antsy. We told waiter if he can grab us to go boxes waitied 10 mins. So we just went to the counter grab it and paid our food. I don't think I'll dine in again. I'll just order to go.

Monique C.

Yelp
My family and I loved everything that we tried. We had orange chicken, chicken pad Thai, Pad see noodles, shrimp fried rice, garlic shrimp and Thai tea. The service was friendly and warm. We will definitely be back!

T B.

Yelp
Love it here! I've been going here since 2017 and the quality is still superb! Service is friendly and the atmosphere and is inviting. 10/10 recommend

Yelp
I've had years and years of experience eating Thai food. With that being said, I'm so bored of it. But Bangkok Grill is really good. I love this place! It's so good! They have a pretty big menu offering lots of dishes, most Thai restaurants do NOT offer. As well as the usual popular items that brings people back, *cough cough* Pad Thai. Yeah, I know you (the reader) likes that Pad Thai. I would totally recommend Bangkok Grill! Also, they've given discounts before if you pay in cash.

Tom P.

Yelp
Great little restaurant, easy to find, convenient. Staying at Marriott, walking distance. Full menu of delicious Thai dishes, reasonably priced. Excellent service, quick and friendly. Try the red shrimp curry, wow!
google avatar

Jaliya Q.

Yelp
Why did I have to find out about this place from a friend who lives an hour away?? I ordered the golden wanton curry to-go (obviously, it's a pandemic ) and when I arrived in 10 min my food was ready. Once I got home I tore open the bag to find that my fried wantons still had crisp to them There were tons of veggies and the shrimp were chunky too. I'm more than satisfied
google avatar

Quinn V.

Yelp
Great food. Super safe with covid. You walk up, they hand you the order, then close the little window. They also have nice thick eco-looking napkins and sturdy forks to go.

Yelp
Note: This is will be a constantly updated, ongoing review of everything I have eaten at Bangkok Grill. This place is around the corner from my bf's place therefore we go here a lot! TomYum Noodle Soup (5/5) - We get this every single time we go. It's the perfect combination of spice, tangy, and sweet (but not really). Bangkok Wings (4/5) - First off it's not your little chicken wing. It is more like the size of a small drumstick but fried to this perfect golden shell and has meat stuffed inside. It sounds weird but if you want to try a new fried dish, I'd recommend this! Beef Salad (4/5) - If you like the burn your tongue off refreshing but spicy taste, this is it! The veggies compliment the beef and the sauce because it almost makes you think it doesn't hurt as much. It is super flavorful. Pineapple Fried Rice (2/5) - To be honest, it was very bland. There was an underlying sweet flavor from the pineapple but other than that, nothing else. If that's not your thing then pass.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice hidden gem in Hawthorne. All the food I've tried is really good! The times I've gone staff is nice and attentive. Recently ordered take out and it was a 30 min wait which wasn't bad. Totally worth the wait for this great Thai food! Recommend pad see ew, shrimp fried rice and calamari. The sauce that comes with the calamari is really good, goes great with the calamari.
