"Over in Concord, longstanding Thai restaurant Bangkok Kitchen is closing today after 25 years in business. The owner told KTVU that he can no longer afford the rent, which is set to more than double from $5,200 to $11,000 per month." - Janelle Bitker

Authentic cuisine from the various parts of Thailand. Food is very tasty but done farang style. The place can get very busy but the wait is not that bad. I enjoyed my dinner here and will likely come back again. My favourite Thai restaurant in the area for sure.

Nice traditional Thai food run by a family. There are specials on the wall, which are off the menu. You can find a 3 course dinner for ~$25. The hot sauces are amazing, especially the hot thai pepper oil. A bid pricey for this restaurant, but the quality of the food makes up for it. If I lived closer, you could find me here more often to get my Thai food fix.

My favorite local Thai restaurant! The service and options are excellent. My favorite is the yellow curry noodles. I’m sad to hear they are leaving the downtown Concord location on Galindo due to the doubling of the lease price. Closing after 2/14/19, I hope they quickly find a place to reopen in Contra Costa county. I’ll visit you regularly at your new place too!

A Concord staple for 25+ years. For good reason. Great thai and great service!

Amazing staff. Went in a little before closing and they accommodated us just fine. Food came out sooner than we had expected and tasted great! Manager/server was attentive throughout and was very courteous. Would eat again. Make sure to add the Thai Chili's on your entrée for extra flavor.

My daughter's boyfriend decided we should have some dinner here tonight. Well I am so glad we did. Inside looks nice in typical Thai decor. Sat down and looked at menu. Many good choices to pick from. Starting from the appetizer ( fried tofu with sweet and sour sauce), to the soup du jour, to the green curry with shrimp - all was excellent. Service was prompt and attentive . Only slight flaw was that they served the dinner a little close to the soup. My meal was so good, I wasn't bringing any food back home for tomorrow's dinner! By this time, I was too full for dessert! Overall it was a delightful meal. We all agreed that we will be back again soon.😊

I absolutely love Thai food and I have tried every restaurant in the area and hands down Bangkok Kitchen is the best! Peter, the owner, is a great host and his family knows how to make the most delicious food. Check them out!

A friend took me here for dinner for my birthday. The atmosphere inside is warm and comfortable and is conducive to having both a relaxing dining experience and intimate conversation. We (I) intentionally ordered a lot of food with an eye towards taking leftovers home later, but you should know that the portions for all parts of the menu - from the appetizers to the a la carte offerings - are substantial. You'll be happily stuffed. For appetizers we ordered Thai Toast, Veggie Egg Rolls and Taro Tod. All were perfectly executed together with their dipping sauces. For salad and soup we ordered the Larb Gai and Tom Kai Gai respectively. The flavors were perfect. The chicken for the soup was cooked perfectly and almost melted as you ate it. Seriously. I also ordered Chu Chee - a spicy red curry with coconut milk, mushrooms and lime leaves. Finally, I ordered lots of Thai iced tea. My friend, who's a vegetarian, ordered BK's own friend rice (which was made vegetarian for her - the staff will really accommodate you here) and Param Pak - mixed vegetables with tofu, topped with a curry peanut sauce. All of the dishes were executed perfectly. I am not exaggerating here - in Thai cuisine it's easy to overcook chicken or tofu or seafood. Happens all the time. No worries here. I have been eating Thai food literally for decades, especially in L.A. and Northern California. BK's is the best I've had here in Northern California. Quality ingredients you can literally taste cooked perfectly. I've been looking for Thai food of quality in the bay area for years. Finally found it. Some final notes: You can order take-out (I just did!). FYI: There is a very small house wine list that is not online. There is also a special menu that changes regularly - check it out. The restaurant is located right across from the Brendon theaters - A nice meeting spot!. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the ingredients and execution. Finally, the service is excellent! Friendly, attentive but not intrusive. If you've longed for good Thai food, treat yourself.
