Google
Bangkok Square has a phenomenal and authentic menu filled with all types of Bangkok cuisine. All of the food was hot, prompt and delicious. The staff was extremely kind and catered to our every need paired with a nice Asian logger. This meal was phenomenal. The ambience was great. The wait time was short And we enjoyed the experience thoroughly. I will certainly be dining here again as they say in Bangkok “delicious”

My husband and I came in to have dinner on Sunday. It was a little slow at first, but no worries there. We shared a plate of Drunken Noodles and my goodness! It was delicious! For $18 (with tax), it was a pretty big portion. We will definitely be coming again!

My pad thai was drowning in chili oil. My friend said the curry chicken was good. The service was prompt and courteous. I will come back and give another dish a chance.

Google
This restaurant deserves its position as number 1 in Gainesville. They are very consistent with taste and presentation. The Tom yum soup is my favorite and my wife always order the crispy eggplant. I can also recommend their Thai fried rice, as well as the duck plate. I recommend it

I wish I lived closer to go back and eat there more often, The food is delicious, great service and great atmosphere.

Google
I’ve been going there for years. They have great flavors and many authentic dishes you can’t find elsewhere. The Thai spice is real—I even challenge myself with it sometimes. Service is excellent, too. Recently, I forgot my wallet at the table, and they secured it for me and waited for me to return and retrieve it. Thank you for that!

Google
Best Thai restaurant in tow. Clean, reasonably priced. Great Lunch menu and the service is exceptional. My favorite place to eat while in Gainesville, Florida.

Google
Nice clean, modern feel. This was recommended by a guy at Karma Cream (excellent place), so we wanted to grab a small bite. Great Thai Coffee! We shared the Panang curry with tofu. The flavor is nice, but a little disappointed with the few veggies. There is a lot of tofu, which is nice and it is a lunch portion, but it is mostly tofu and zucchini slices. The staff understands gluten free and vegan, so we appreciate that. Maybe we need to try them for dinner, but to us, it seems to be a little pricey. Maybe that’s the cost of eating out these days… The food was tasty, service fast and friendly, so a solid 4 stars is where I would place them.

Yelp
The pad thai here had a really good flavor and the perfect amount of sauce. The service was very quick and the ambiance was pretty nice. My friend and I split the thai donuts for dessert, and they were tasty but nothing too special. Overall a pretty good thai place but not my favorite in the area.

Yelp
While the service was excellent the food was just ok. We had the crab Rangoon, which seemed to have mustard in them? They weren't good. Then drunken noodles and the panang curry. The curry was watery and the noodles tasted different. I'm not sure I could explain it. Overall it was ok. I'm spoiled having had some of the best Thai food available in the states and this just wasn't it.

Yelp
Bangkok Square is our family favorite. I've been coming here for years. About time I write them up! Best Thai food in Gainesville. Their pad Thai is my go-to. Their crispy duck is a great portion and flavorful. My husband tried the Kua Gling for lunch today and it was super spicy and delicious. The service is always friendly. Definitely check them out.

Yelp
Always delicious! The menu is complete & the food is authentic & nicely presented! The service is quick & accurate. One of my go-to restaurants!

Yelp
This restaurant never fails to disappoint. Was looking for takeout last minute and craving noodles so I ordered Pad Thai and am so happy I did. The portion sizes are huge and the flavors well balanced. The staff is always super friendly when I'm there and make it a wonderful experience.

Yelp
We love this place. I love how the takeout is on the side of the of the establishment where you can walk in and literally drive up on the side of the curb. You can't go wrong with any of the curries or pad Thai. However, we absolutely love the Tom kha coconut soup.

Yelp
My friend's father came into town to take us out for lunch and a movie. We arrived about 11:20 am which was the perfect time on a Tuesday afternoon as we beat the lunch crowd. I haven't been here in years but it was better than I had remembered. I got the vegetable pad kee mao aka drunken noodles. I'm not a vegetarian but I wanted something I could share with my friend. It was so good I ate it all. It was my favorite pad kee mao because of the noodles. They were thick and wide and kinda al dente. The sauce was good, too but it was a little salty. I will be back to try variations of this noodle. My friend's father ate all his shrimp pad thai and didn't complain except to say it wasn't spicy. I think Asian servers are scared when Caucasian Americans ask for spicy. I asked him if he wanted me to request spicy sauce on the side. But he declined. We actually did request that earlier but they forgot. By the appearance of it, I thought it looked a little dry and I noticed there wasn't any lime. I also don't like how thin the pad thai noodles looked. My friends ordered the tofu pad broccoli. The server didn't really explain the name of the dish well. It looked okay. He ate half and packed the rest to go. The lunch portion, options and presentation were nice. The restaurant was clean and charming. The server was knowledgeable and friendly. However, it took awhile to get seated. In fact, a Thai customer who was dining in, got up and had to notify the staff in the kitchen that there were 2 parties of 3/4 people waiting to be seated. We were in and out in an hour. We caught the 12:20 pm showing of The Fall Guy at celebration pointe. That was a great movie! Highly recommend.

Yelp
The food is always delicious, the lunch specials are generous and well-portioned, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Relaxing environment

Yelp
service/ambiance: definitely family owned restaurant; cozy & intimate vibes with friendly staff i ordered the tofu drunken noodles-- as a non-vegetarian, i can't help but ALWAYS order tofu here... the fried tofu has such a rich flavor but even better texture --firm on the outside & filled with the noodle's sauces on the inside. personally, i wish the portions were larger (granted, the price is reasonable for the size) but i only wish this because it's so good and i want MORE!! the sauce isn't too salty and the noodles are cooked just the right amount of chewy! for the dessert, i tried the icecream with crunchy bananas --basically bananas wrapped in fried rice paper with coconut icecream! very interesting blend of flavors (in a good way) and very light on the soul. good to share with a group of friends if you want a small dessert :)

Yelp
Picked up food in the time the states food was cold and the cashew chicken looked like it was someone's left over. It wasn't even half full and cold.

Yelp
Decided to check this place out for weekend dinner. It was not overly crowded and we were seated immediately. We got chicken satay for appetizer which was okay, 3/5. salad that came with "two friends panang curry" that we ordered was good. Both curry and Pad see ew were flavorful and were cooked well- little on the saltier side to my taste. Overall, we had good experience and will come back when we crave Thai food!

Yelp
I usually don't write reviews. But I was very disappointed with my visit. This used to be my favorite restaurant in Gainesville. We came in today for a dinner with family right before my graduation. My boyfriend found multiple small rocks in his noodles!! He initially found out when he nearly chipped a tooth. We thought they were black pepper pieces but confirmed that they were rocks. I wish I remembered to take pictures, but we were so disappointed we did not want to stay any longer. Maybe it was an off day but we won't be returning.

Yelp
Go to place for Thai food in Gainesville! Dine in or take out and you will not be disappointed! Large menu with many different dishes. We love the Pad Thai, Red Curry, and Tom Kha soup! The service is always fast and friendly! They will also make each dish as mild or spicy as you would like. A must try place!!

Yelp
This place had really good food. My parents have been going for a decade. They are in a little strip mall on the edge of town. Their menu is extensive. Their staff friendly, but not great at English. Ambiance is kinda scuzzy, with Gainesville's typical non-student crowd of old, wealthy, and educated sitting in store, while students coming in for take out. Parking availability fair.

Yelp
One of the best Thai places in town. The restaurant is really nice inside and the service is good. The food tastes really good my only complaint is the portion size could be a bit bigger I could have ate more. I ordered the basil fried rice and I enjoyed it a lot. The restaurant is pretty small and quiet inside, but it is decorative and well-kept. Our servers were attentive and the food came out fairly quickly.

Yelp
Yum!!! For lunch, I wanted a squid salad with a light sauce and I got exactly that. It is usually on the dinner menu, but they accommodated this so that I could have it during lunch. How nice ! And I enjoyed the variety of veggies on this salad. Also, I thought the atmosphere was nice and cozy. I'd definitely come back if I am in Gainesville area !

Yelp
Continued my quest for good food in Gainesville and was excited to try Bangkok Square. My mother in law is Thai and she is an amazing cook so I am a little jaded. But I will say that I appreciate good Thai. Really liked the decor and the staff was very friendly. Service was really good during my meal. I started off with chicken satay and it was good. Somewhat basic on the chicken but I did enjoy the peanut sauce. Quite frankly give me the peanut sauce and some bread and I could live for days. Haha. For my main I had the Penang curry. The curry had really good flavor but I get frustrated that some Thai restaurants fill it up with vegetables. I did get it without veggies and the chicken was done well. My only complaint is the small bowl of rice. Overall the dinner was good.

Yelp
There are an abundance of Thai places in Gainesville but I had never been here before, so I met a friend here for dinner one night after work. We were able to immediately get a table and our service was prompt throughout the night. So many tasty-sounding options on the menu but I went with the red curry with chicken. It was a scrumptious blend of red curry paste in coconut milk with bell peppers, pineapple, and bamboo shoots. Served over jasmine rice, it was a great meal. Overall this was a good experience at Bangkok Square and I would return again.

Yelp
Wonderful ambiance and decor! Came on a referral since new to the area, and all three of us thoroughly enjoyed our dining out experience since service & food were both wonderful clean healthy & visually appealing dishes!

Yelp
Wow, to start off, the experience and food here is a solid 5-stars! The interior is a great first impression, and the staff is super friendly and welcoming! Bangkok Square is my to-go place for Thai food. I usually get the Beef Pad See Ew, and it has been delicious every time! The food is hot and flavorful, and always made to perfection. The presentation is also gorgeous. I love the Sticky Rice here as well, very delicious! Overall, I would definitely recommend stopping here for a yummy bite to eat if you're in Gainesville! It's delicious and a great experience!

Yelp
Came here after a long day of moving boxes moving into UF. We did end up coming a little late and were rushed to order very quickly and that was our fault, totally not the restaurant's. We got pad see ew, pad kee mao, and pad thai, and let me tell you, it was stupendous. Exactly what you look for in Thai food, perfectly cooked noodles, veggies, and full of flavor! I absolutely loved all three of them, although pad Thai holds a special place in my heart and won. I loved the little carrot flower, a nice touch that made the dish just that much more thoughtful and handcrafted. Delicious as well. Not pictured but we also got a Thai tea, which was one of the better ones i've had in most places, especially around the Gainesville area. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Thai food in the area, and it's worth the short drive or bus ride getting here. An entree will run you $12-15 though, so be prepared to spend a little extra for a lot more flavor and authenticity.

Yelp
We stopped here on our way to Georgia, and we're so glad we did. We started with a papaya salad that was perfect. The mussaman curry chicken and golden cashew nuts with chicken were both delicious. Service was prompt, courteous, and friendly.

Yelp
I drove from PA to Florida and back. Thai restaurants are my favorite daily stop. By far, Bangkok Square had the best fresh roll I have ever had. it came with tofu. The roll was perfect - tightly wrapped with the right amounts to balance the tofu, lettuce, vermicellI, carrot and basil. The peanut dipping sauce was just spicy enough to enhance the flavor of the roll. Highly recommend it.

Yelp
I had an enjoyable meal with a friend. It was my first time eating Thia food and it was great.

Yelp
I have been here a few times, most recently I came in with a large group and everyone's allergies and food preferences were tended to. The Thai tea was good not too sweet. I recommend the drunken noodles are really good.

Yelp
I love this place with all my heart. I always order something different when I go, but my go-to is the pad thai they offer. If you go during lunch, they offer a lunch special that includes a roll and daily soup. It's typically spinach soup and I enjoy it with the spring roll. The staff there are super nice and the place is very clean. If you were to ask me what to order as a first timer, I'd definitely say the pad thai or the pat see ew. Both are noodle dishes and both are so good for the soul. If you're feeling fancy, order a thai tea. They make it the right way, with condensed milk and everything. As it should be :)

Yelp
Had lunch there today and I can't say enough positive things about this restaurant... Service was spot on and the food...oh my it was absolutely amazing...so fresh and delicious,my daughter and I had the Chicken Curry with a wonderful coconut peanut sauce and my son in law had the Crispy Eggplant with peanut sauce...serving size were ample and prices very, very reasonable... Will definitely put this on my list of best of Gainesville ...try it ,you won't be disappointed...
google avatar

Amie S.

Yelp
The Pad Thai here is delicious, I get the medium spicy! But the drunken noodles I had did not hit, the noodles were stuck together and wasn't as flavorful as the pad thai. The lunch special is pretty swag since they give you soup, salad and ice cream with it!!

Yelp
My first time here but definitely not the last one. I felt like I was invited to my best friend's house and they took care of my appetite the best possible way! Lol!!! We arrived as soon as they opened on Saturday noon and welcomed by the host. Half an hour later the restaurant was full. They also had many online orders ready for pickup. Everything went so smooth. We had no idea they have a lunch special and were very surprised by getting a free appetizer (soup and an egg roll) and coconut ice cream for dessert. We also ordered Pad thai rolls ($7) from the appetizer menu. It was very fresh and crunchy. Had tofu in the middle and pad thai noodles around it. All the food was served steamy hot. The presentation was beautiful and so appetising. As main dish I ordered drunken noodles with tofu ($8) Delicious! We also ordered pineapple fried rice with duck meat. (13$) Yummy! The food prices was very well worth it especially with the luch deals going on. The total bill came around $40. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Bangkok Square is the perfect place to have a yummy lunch with your friends and family for such an affordable price! My glil and I went here for lunch and received their soup of day, egg roll, an entree, and ice cream for less than $20!!! I forgot the soup that we received but it was soothing to my stomach. The egg roll was crunchy and mixed well with their sauce. My glil got their chicken pad thai which is always a classic at a Thai restaurant. I got the panang curry with steamed rice which was a bit bland. I normally get their green curry but I wanted to change things up this time. I didn't really enjoy the panang curry as much as I did the green curry. In my opinion, the green curry has more of a kick to it which is what I'll probably order next time again. Afterwards, the waitress gave us a small cup of coconut ice cream! It was satisfying after all the savory food we received. I recommend going to this restaurant during lunch time because of all the food you receive for a great price!

Yelp
Food is outstanding. Ordered takeout. Cashier pressed the tip button for me without my consent and told me I hadn't left a tip when asked. I didn't check the total ahead of time, so I tipped when I signed the check. Little strange, but seems like a nice place.
google avatar

Melissa B.

Yelp
Updating to 5 stars because I get take out from here once per week on average. I love this place! The flavor on the green curry is so wonderful, and they have my favorite drunken noodles in town.
google avatar

Yelp
Terrible service. I was left feeling very frustrated and with the notion that they just don't care about the product they put out.
google avatar

Shreya Rani A.

Yelp
Got the cashew tofu, panang curry with tofu, and pad woo zen with tofu to go! I asked them if they could make it without any fish or oyster sauce and they said- no problem! All 3 dishes were very flavorful, and portion sizes for lunch options were pretty decent as well. When I came in to pick up the food during a Saturday lunch time, they were pretty crowded. I'll be back to try some more. Very vegetarian friendly!

Yelp
This Thai restaurant located along Archer Road is a well decorated restaurant with many options. The decor is something to admire throughout the area. I visited for lunch, and ordered the Pad Thai, Panang Curry, and Basil Fried Rice. I particularly mentioned to the waitress to make sure the Pad Thai was not oily, and to reduce the oil if possible, because no one likes when Asian noodles are dripping with oil. She reacted as if I'm my question was totally bizarre, and assured me that it's usually not that way. Disappointingly, it was very oily when served. The Panang curry was quite bland, although I asked for it to be relatively spicy. The Basil Fried Rice was seasoned well, but was not served warm, which particularly left me slightly unsatisfied. As I visited for lunch, the atmosphere was quite busy. Something to note is the multitude of things that are given to customers on-the-house. They serve egg rolls & coconut ice cream, which is a nice touch to the meal. Personally, I've experienced all of these dishes in a more exquisite way than what was given to me at Bangkok Thai.

Yelp
I was recommended to this Thai restaurant by a local so I was a bit let down after my dinner this past weekend. I called in to make a reservation to secure my table since it's a small place so I knew they could be busy. It's located not too far from UF so this place is pretty popular amongst the staff and students from the university, therefore it's always best to make a reservation here. The decor inside is nice and cozy, the seatings are a bit tight, especially if you have a big party. I ordered the pad thai with half chicken and half veggies (my usual meal at every new thai restaurant) with extra sauce. The service was fast and they were attentive on refilling our water. The Pad thai however was not what I expected. They used the thin pho noodles and I've never had this kind of noodle for this specific dish before, so I was utterly shocked. The sauce was good but a bit too sweet for my liking. The spice was on point since I got Thai hot. They also brought out the additional spices for me to add since I asked for it, the fresh chillies were pretty delicious. When I got the check, I noticed that they charged me an additional $2 for my chicken but the waitress did not mention it to me in the beginning. So I felt a little disappointed, in which I'm perfectly fine with paying the extra money for my chicken. I just wish they had notified me before charging anything additional. Also, they don't give coconut ice cream samples for dinner and I didn't want to try that but that's given during lunch hours. Bummer!

Yelp
I've been here 3 times now and there are definitely pros and cons to this place +I always come for the lunch special as it includes a soup (spinach leaves and some chicken in a savory broth), a tiny egg roll, your entree, and some coconut ice cream for dessert -pretty good deal for ~$15 +Nice atmosphere: it is clean and nicely decorated +Good service - as for food, it is generally a little too sweet and does not taste authentic. I've tried the curries and fried rice which are a little better , but the pad thai and pad see ew were simply disappointing. The pad Thai noodles are too thin like the ones that you would use for pho noodles. The sauce was too sweet and tasted like the ones in the jars at grocery stores Bottom line: my search for good, authentic Thai food in Gainesville continues....

Yelp
I love Bangkok Square! Pro tip: get the amazing sauce dish with chicken and a side of steamed noodles instead of the jasmine rice - you'll thank me later! Bangkok Square has two locations - one here and one on 39th. Although the 39th location is easier for me, I like how small this spot is. The decor is also really fun. The crab Rangoon and the curry puffs are my go to appetizers. You seriously can't go wrong! As I shared earlier, I love the amazing sauce dish. My husband enjoys the pad Thai and the drunken noodles. The Amazing Sauce is very peanut butter-y so avoid if that's not your style! If you're staying for dessert, finish up with the Thai donuts! They are melt in your mouth good.

Nikita K.

Yelp
A family favorite! Great vegetarian options and filling meals. Service is always top notch, though the wait can be long at times. I'm always craving the Drunken Noodles, and they make them perfectly every time. I love the lunch special here, as it includes a small starter, dish, and cute little desert of coconut ice cream at the end. The atmosphere is usual very quiet and peaceful, with the occasional busy off-day. Would recommend to any Thai-food lover, and will definitely be returning.
google avatar

Lydia P.

Yelp
Great local Thai restaurant! I especially love their lunch specials. They come with a small soup, spring roll, and coconut ice cream for dessert. My go-to dishes here are the red curry, panang curry, and pad thai. All super flavorful and would recommend! The only thing is I wish that the curries came with more rice; I still have half the bowl of curry left by the time I'm finished with the rice. Also, if you're in the mood for dessert, you have to order the mango sticky rice! The tanginess of the mango goes really well with the coconut sticky rice and, in my opinion, it's the perfect way to end your meal at Bangkok.

Yelp
This small restaurant has delicious food and excellent service. Everything came out hot and tasty. Portions were definitely ample.

Yelp
I am an avid fan of Thai food and was craving curry and this was the closest place so I decided to give it a try. We were seated immediately which was a pleasant surprise and the decor was very nice. We ordered the veggie spring rolls , as an appetizer, which were good but they only gave us four which was fine but sort of underwhelming for the price. I ordered the Mussaman curry with shrimp as my protein and the portion size was underwhelming but it was good. The combo fried rice ,which was chicken and steak, was fine, however the meat was on the dry side. Finally, they gave us a free mini cup of vanilla ice cream but it had tiny pieces of coconut that were in it and the texture of it in the ice cream was sort of unpleasant. Overall, it's not a bad place to go but it's definitely not my favorite Thai restaurant.
google avatar

Uni C.

Yelp
I always order green curry whenever I visit a Thai restaurant for the first time. The green curry from Bangkok Square is my new comfort food now. I order a the take out with a friend and we both enjoyed Green curry very much. I did wish there is a little bit more rice though. They say it's medium spicy but it's more of a mild for me. It's just the right amount if you want the flavor but not too much surprise to burn your throat. I looked around in the restaurant when I picked up my food and the decoration is clean and beautiful . The environment was welcoming and I will definitely dine in next time.

Yelp
We ordered Panang and Massaman curries for dinner + port dumplings appetizer. The quality of food was good. Curry: Generous portions. high quality and fresh ingredients. Especially the chicken! Unlike (nearly all) other Thai restaurants we've tried in Gainesville, the chicken was fresh cooked and not warmed up + added to the curry / coconut milk. Rice: The jasmine rice was well cooked and fresh. The portion could be larger. Overall, this is by far the best Thai food in Gainesville. The taste of curry, spices, sugar amount, etc., are all just in right amount.

Yelp
The best Thai food in Gville! A must get is their Pad Thai and I really think they nailed the authenticity for this dish. I've brought many out of town friends to Bangkok Square and they LOVE the food. The Thai tea here is excellent as well but does not have free refills. For alot of their options, you can choose the protein such as tofu, chicken, pork, beef, seafood, even crispy duck! I like to indulge in the crispy duck pad Thai during lunch I recommend going for lunch because they have a combo option: soup, egg roll, and entree. The lunch menu is cheaper than dinner. Come early because they get super busy at lunch time! They usually give free homemade coconut ice cream for dessert, sooo creamy and yummy. Besides the pad Thai, I like the Lad Nar noodles. Lad Nar is wide flat noodles in clear gravy sauce. The Pad See Ew (drunken noodles) is another fav of mine. I have been here so many times, but yet to try the fried rice. I'll have to order fried rice next time if I can resist ordering the pad Thai. Service is good but they can get busy both at lunch and dinner times. This is a popular place for birthdays and graduations; definitely a good date place too. The decor is elegant and the space is clean!

Yelp
We have ordered from here a few time and so far everything has been flavorful. We really like the Pad Thai and the Massaman Curry. Their prices are also very reasonable and the portion sizes are generous. It is our go to chinese food spot when in Gainesville

Robert J.

Yelp
Not impressed. Ordered pineapple fried rice with chicken and it had a mild dish taste. Must have been been cooked close to or with same utensils. Will give another try before a final opinion but didn't live up to other reviews

Yelp
Delicious lunch specials for a good price. The dishes were flavorful and ordering them medium was the perfect amount of spice for us. I also really enjoyed the soup, egg roll, and ice cream that come along with the special. It's a bit far drive from where I live but it's always worth it.
