"Housed in a former Burger King, Bangkok Thai Deli’s lengthy menu features an elaborate labeling scheme of numbers and letters.  Try the 20B, a spicy basil-forward stir fry with a choice of protein and a fried egg on the side.  The red curry (28) has a particularly nuanced flavor, with a hint of acid to temper the richness of the coconut milk." - Alex Lodner

I visited a week ago with my friend and daughter (who is a vegetarian) my friend recommended it because we were getting hungry after church. It was our friend time there and his first time eating in while there. The waitress , Joy Y was so friendly and helpful she shared that she is also a vegetarian and she made the recommendation of the Coconut Milk Soup with mock duck as a hotpot. There were so many menu options to choose from and you could change most meals to vegan and vegetarian friendly which i loved!! When the soup came it was beautifully presented in a hot pot. It was delicious and came with enough to completely fill the three of us. In addition we ordered the fried tofu and some fresh spring rolls. We ate until we couldn't eat anymore! Everything came out quickly and they put up with my busy 4 year old and even let me charge my phone! They brought by a Boba sample plate to keep my daughter entertained! Great service! Affordable! And delicious! I would definitely go back and I am recommending this place to my friends.

Google
There are two reasons why you should eat here. They are roast duck curry, and the red curry. They do have other yummy options, but those two are the absolute highlight in my view. My wife also loves the mango smoothie, so I highly recommend that as well.

Google
I love the food but a little disappointed that there wasn’t a lot of the rice portion for khao mun gai to go. 2/3 is the container was filled with food and the other 1/3 was the sauce and cucumbers. Definitely could’ve been more rice. The Thai coffee was perfect! Not too bitter and not too sweet.

Google
One of the most reasonably priced Thai food restaurants out here. Great portions too. Wonderful customer service. Fairly fast turn around time for food. We usually get something else besides pad Thai but it’s just so good. We got egg roll too (4) and spring rolls (2) Free easy parking

Google
Food taste Great! Pho Bowls are jumbo, with suitably crunchy sprouts and onion, and noodles are springy with a good chew. Add your toppings such as peppers and pickled jalapeños 😋 Chicken Pad thai was delicious 🌶 Thai Fried Rice with side of sliced cucumbers was warming and refreshing! A+

Google
It has been awhile since I had my last meal here at Bangkok Thai Deli. I have moved around Cali, DC, Chicago area, I still find this place as the most authentic Thai food I ever had in United States. It is the closest to the one I had in Thailand. Definitely recommend this place to people who love authentic food. The papaya salad, tom yum soup and basil ground pork are must have.

Google
Solid place for dinner! Food came quick and good sized servings. I ordered the beef pho - very flavorful. Not the best broth, and a bit heavy on the green onion/garlic. The fried pork strips were delicious. Staff were efficient and helpful.

Google
I spent a few months in Thailand, and have been looking for Tom Yum soup and Mango Sticky rice that tastes like it was made in Bangkok. Today, I found it! The food and service are great. A good lunch place. They do not serve alcohol. The atmosphere is meh..

Yelp
Walked in with a group of ten on a Wednesday afternoon. There was a good sized parking lot! The place is pretty big so we were able to get a few tables with no problem. The food was good, but our servers were amazing! Very sweet, helped some of our group navigate the menu, and answered any questions. The menu is HUGE. If you want any type of SE Asian food, Bangkok Thai is a good bet. It's most helpful to the waitstaff if you order by the menu number. Our table split cream cheese wontons and egg rolls. Both were good! I would have liked more meat in the egg rolls as I'm not a huge fan of mostly cabbage. I split a Stir-Fried Flat Noodle with Basil with a coworker. They noodles were great! More veggies would have been nice, but I wasn't mad! Some folx in our group ordered the pho and absolutely loved the broth! I'll definitely be coming back to try it!

Yelp
This has got to be one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Saint Paul. Came in 4/19/2024. We had pad see ewwk, seafood papaya salad, fried chicken wings, and chicken massaman curry. Everything was great the stars of the show were the papaya salad and pad see ewwk. Ambience is chill and inviting. I would definitely bring family, or spend time with friends here.

Courtney B.

Yelp
Great spot for Thai food, especially take out or delivery. I like their mango stir fry dish. The classics are also great- try the pad Thai and green curry. I felt the spice levels were a bit mild and some of the flavors seemed overly sweet in my opinion. But overall, very tasty and reasonably priced too!

Yelp
I would like to start off by saying this place has been on my go to list, however i havent had time until today. I would say the food was great. My friend and I got many different dish and they all came out great! One thing i would say is the customer service is really not that great. We waited a while for them to take our orders and the food took a while to come out. I understand that they were short staff. The food was great each one has a different taste. The soup was super yummy. The stir fry basil was super yummy. When they said that its spicy they mean it. I love spicy food. Also, the food wasnt salty and it was super good. The thai tea is kind of water down. I would recommend this place.

Yelp
Ordered 2 tofu dishes last night. Everything but the tofu was delicious. The tofu itself literally tasted rotten and old. Completely inedible. I saved the tofu in case the restaurant wants to try what they are selling to customers. Definitely wont be back unless they give me a refund or new order.

Yelp
Talk about a dumpster fire. Cannot even cook the simplest dishes. Terrible! Don't even try the pho! Never coming back Not recommended

Yelp
On 9/1/2019, I was there with some friends and family. Our first waitress was very rude to us. She had the audacity to roll her eyes at me. Even though she made the mistake on my order. It's understandable, mistakes happens. But don't blame me for your mistakes when I told you my order twice. I would expect some common courtesy when it comes to be served. Until then, I can say that the service is terrible and will not be coming back. Thank you for the great food but no thanks to service we received that night.

Yelp
Bangkok Thai Deli is a super-authentic, semi-rundown, vegan-friendly Thai restaurant in St. Paul. You can't go wrong with anything you get here. The stir-fried pea tips with garlic sauce ($14) are fabulous; you also don't see pea tips often in Thai restaurants, so this is a rare treat. The stir-fried water spinach with Thai chili pepper ($13) isn't bad, but water spinach is stringy and I'd recommend the pea tips or Chinese broccoli over this dish. The Thai-style papaya salad ($9) can be modified to be vegan without fish sauce, shrimp and crab. It's pretty good. The stir-fried flat noodle with basil ($12) is tasty, but I prefer the stir-fried flat noodle with gravy ($12) which is more savory (it's more commonly known as lard nar). Lastly, the stir fried cashew nut with tofu ($14) and the stir fried tofu with basil ($12) are both deliciously savory and addictive, but small portions. The restaurant will make any dish vegan and understands the concept of no fish sauce, no oyster sauce and no obvious meats/animal products like shrimp and egg. That said, I don't think they can modify their curries to be vegan, as the curry pastes have shrimp pre-mixed in them. Bangkok Thai is easily the best Thai restaurant in St. Paul and one of the best in the Twin Cities. I'd also recommend Khun Nai (Minneapolis) and Sen Yai Sen Lek (Minneapolis).

Yelp
Maybe I have ordered the wrong items, or maybe the spice level that I have chosen was too low, but I was not impressed by the food quality here. Overall I thought the food was not bad at all, but a lot of times it was bland. I understand that me ordering the lowest level of spiciness doesn't help, but good food shouldn't need spiciness as its only or even dominant seasoning, as that would defeat the purpose of enhancing the food's own flavor profile. I have been here twice, once for dine in and once for takeout. The time for dining in, we got crab fried rice, pad thai, thick curry, stuffed chicken wing, and the red curry. The red curry was the best among them all, as it had the most flavor. I ordered those items because I have gotten these exact same items from other Thai restaurants and unfortunately this place falls relatively short. The second time, we got Thai fried rice, Chinese broccoli fried rice, crab fried rice, and pad-see-ew, for a celebration event. The pad-see-ew was very good. But the three types of rice genuinely tasted very similar, so similar to the point that I could not tell them apart if it was not because of the main differing ingredient (Chinese broccoli, crab meat, etc.). I don't feel disappointed by the place, and I am open to returning, but Bangkok Thai Deli is most likely not my first choice if I recommend Thai food in the Twin Cities. However, I do want to acknowledge that they have strengths as well. They are very affordable, and seem very popular with the local Frogtown community, which is a huge plus for me. They have a large menu with lots of pictures that aid people with choices. They also seem to be very receptive to feedback, according to Google reviews, so I sincerely hope this business will continue to succeed and prosper (assuming it is right now)!

Yelp
This place has a legit Boat noodle. A bit sweeter but it works. Would've liked more cuts of beef and a tad more broth but it's good. What this place is good on is the fried chicken wings. Wet batter. Crispy. Juicy. And that pepper dipping sauce. Mmm. Legit lunch spot on University.

Pa V.

Yelp
This place is authentic, delicious and super affordable! The menu here is overwhelming (expect for dessert options) but that also means more dishes to try and there are some dishes here that are usually hard to find at other Thai restaurants in the area (like the Thai beef jerky and boat noodle soup). My favorite thing here is the pad-see-ew w/ shrimp (spicy spice level) and deep-fried pork rib or deep-fried pork- the sauce that comes with it is sooo good that I always order extra sauce (with a side of rice too ofcourse). What I love about this place is that when you order spicy, it is actually spicy since I love spicy food! I wouldn't recommend getting the tri-color (or the desserts in general) here because is it pretty plain and just filled with canned fruit. My only two criticisms is that it is dirty here sometimes (a couple times I have had to ask them to clean the tables again) and the service is a hit of miss (sometimes very friendly, sometimes they seem to have forgotten about us...lol). I would recommend take out! Overall, my fam and I are happy to support!

Pakou Y.

Yelp
Food is always delicious when we are here. Our favorite dish is the boat noodle but everything is delicious as well. Service is usually good and definitely a place to dine for two or for a big family/party.

Ia H.

Yelp
Good, authentic food. Ok service as most Asian restaurants. Definitely a family favorite over the years.

Margie N.

Yelp
I got takeout. The food was good, but the portions were ridiculously small, and I'm not a huge eater. Two dishes came out to a little less than $40. Ridiculous. I'm sad to say I won't be returning.

Michael K.

Yelp
I've only been here a couple of times for takeout but the winning dishes were definitely the Chicken Pad Thai and the Fresh Spring Rolls. The Pad Thai is super authentic and delicious, just the right amount of sauce and use of quality ingredients. We also ordered the Beef Pho and truthfully it's some of the worst pho I've had in a while. The broth is simply not good tasting. I'm not sure what it is about it but I wouldn't recommend ordering the pho from Bangkok Thai Deli. I haven't tried many of the other menu items but if you're looking for a solid pad thai, this is the place to go.

Gam K.

Yelp
This restaurant is my only pick if I wanted to eat real thai food. Very authentic. Prices goes up like any other businesses. Customer service is not so good. Not very friendly. Need a lot of improvement on customer service. I've been eating here for the past 13th-15th years..before they moved to this place. Just very disappointed that I ordered Kaomungai today and the broth looks just like plain water sad...very sad.

Ellen W.

Yelp
I was terribly disappointed. I ordered takeout. After waiting 30 minutes for my order, they realized it was sitting on a side counter. So, my food was cold. I figured I'd reheat it instead of waiting for them to reheat it. When I got it home, it turned out that they charged me for the right food but gave me the wrong food. And what I got was mediocre. Maybe it was a tough day, but I won't be returning there.

Rusty S.

Yelp
THE GOAT!!! THE GOAT!!!!!!!!! Never been disappointed here. The shrimp patty appetizer is my favorite. Best pad Thai in the twin cities in my opinion.

Sou S.

Yelp
Food was nasty ass fuck, no fucken flavor, small as portions. Pho wasn't even hot it was mild warm.

R G.

Yelp
Consistently the best Thai restaurant in the twin cities. The kitchen is very clean , the food are authentic. I have been to this restaurant since they were a block away with smaller space. They are getting better, over time. The prices are also reasonable But the taste , something you can count on. There is another good place , in town , but the operation at that restaurant is dirty. This one is not the cleanest operation but compared to all the Thai restaurants I have been to , among the better ones. The Pad Thai, Tom Yum Kung, Curry with variations of green , Red , and others , all good. The Shrimp with Sators are my favorite, the Pad See Ew is excellent, so is the noodles with gravy . Even the chicken wings are to die for, the shrimp Patties , Deep fried Pork , the Fried Tofu, papaya salads , all are good , the extensive menus, I haven't tried anything that are not good. Highly recommended !

Yelp
Bangkok Deli is a family favorite, and we have been going ever since we moved up to Minnesota. One of the most consistently delicious restaurants I have been to even if customer service varies. Most of the time I have ordered the creamy tom yum noodle soup which is very flavorful and the lemongrass definitely shines through. It comes with rice noodles, mock crab, shrimp, squid, and fish balls as well as a side plate of lime, thai chilis, bean sprouts, etc. the bowl is pretty big as well (for me). The pad thai is also delicious, and when we order family style, we love getting the curries, tom yum hot pot, and catfish as well as the grilled beef salad or seafood salad as sides. In true Thai fashion, medium means there is actually is a bit of heat and hot means hot, which is great. This place definitely has character being that the location was formerly a Burger King (there's still a sign in the parking lot that says " Burger King Parking Only").

Sammi L.

Yelp
The food still taste good, but the way they social distancing the table are just not the right way... and the bathroom was just so smelly and dirty. Don't they should clean it up frequently. Even with putting the face mask still smell the pungent smell and the dirty bathroom. The tables are so dirty and sticky. I'm very disappointed how the sanitary of the restaurant. To the owner and the management, Please improve the cleaning situation not only because of the whole CONVID-19 but do it for regular basic. I need to put a napkin because the tables is so sticky and dirty.

Saly S.

Yelp
08.21.2022: my wife order chicken pho and there was hair in it, when they replaced it with a new one they didn't even bother to replace the veggies for the new pho. not recommend unless you want hair and see for yourself. we aint going back and we will spread the word.

Jeff J.

Yelp
Bangkok Thai Deli is the banging bomb. The stuffed chicken wings are off the hook and prices are incredibly reasonable for authentic and diverse Thai food. Service was great, portions were enormous (great for leftovers), and the menu is extensive. The owners of Bangkok Thai Deli have obviously invested a lot in bringing authentic Thai food to the twin cities and their extraordinary efforts have been well noticed!

Greg P.

Yelp
So I have not reviewed this spot in some time so I decided to get some takeout from here. I ordered 2 sets of Spring Rolls and 1 Pork Pad Thais with medium spiciness. The total $$ amount was kind of high I thought but with prices skyrocketing it did not shock me. If you have not had food from here I highly suggest giving this place a try. The Spring Rolls are full of fresh herbs, shrimp, pork, and other goodies as well. The dip they have for the Spring Rolls is some type of spicy orange sauce and it is simply amazing. The Pad Thai is out of this world good. The best I have ever had in the Twin Cities area! I will be going back quite a few times now that they are open for dine-in and takeout.

Yelp
I stopped going to Bangkok Thai Deli several years ago because I witnessed poor treatment of the staff by the owner. I decided to go back today because I recently came back from Thailand and was desperately craving good Thai food and this was the place that was suggested over and over again whenever I would ask for recommendations. 3.5 stars for the food. I went with my sister in law and when we're together, we order everything we want and plan to bring home left overs. We ordered egg rolls, spring rolls, Khao Soi (egg noodles in yellow curry), beef laab (cooked), and seafood clear tom yum soup. The egg rolls and spring rolls were only ok. The egg rolls were mostly cabbage and noodles with little flavor. The spring rolls were mostly noodles. I don't recommend them. The Khao Soi was too heavy and I didn't like the thin noodles. This dish comes with soft egg noodles and crunchy egg noodles, which creates a lovely texture that soaks up the curry for a flavor packed bite. Unfortunately, because they use thin noodles, you don't get the full benefit of the crunchy noodles. The curry was okay, but a bit thick for my taste. The best thing about the dish was probably the chicken, but nothing that I'll go back for. They also didn't offer the pickled vegetables that usually accompanies this dish and helps to cut through the thick soup, which was really disappointing. The beef laab was decent at best. Laab usually has layers of flavors with the sourness from the lime, smokiness from the rice powder, saltiness from fish sauce combined with cilantro, mint and other herbs. This dish had all of those, but they were out of balance or something so it just tasted like ground beef. Finally, the Seafood clear tom yum soup... to my surprise, there was no shrimp. The soup was too sour and I felt like I had to follow every spoon down with a cup of water. 2 stars for service. I sat there for 10 minutes before flagging down a waitress to take our order then waited another 15 minutes for our egg rolls and spring rolls, which means we were already there for 25 minutes before just getting our appetizers. I lost track of time by the time we got our main dishes. Nobody ever came to check on us and we had to flag people down every time we needed anything (water, our bill, etc.). There are so many 5 star reviews and I agree with some that there is a lot of variety, which can be a blessing and a curse. I was really hopeful that the food would really sweep me away, but it just wasn't that good.

Ree R.

Yelp
Ordered kuay jub, horrible a lot of soup and barely any noodles. The lao papaya salad was really good so 3 star. Also 30 min wait when there's only 3 tables of customers. After 30 min the waiter came back and asked us what our drinks were then another 20 mins. Not sure why it was taking so long.

Christy H.

Yelp
The food here is great but we stop coming because the service is so bad. We decided to stop back after a while of avoiding this place. Today we asked for a table for 4. The waitress gave us a dirty table with dirty cup still left at the table. She just removed the cup and didn't even wipe the table. They didn't seem busy but we never got water and we notice customer who came in after us got water. We sat down for about 30 minutes and no one came to take our order. 3 waitress just standing around... We left since we hear other customers claiming about the long wait after making their orders.

Courtney V.

Yelp
This place is as legit as it gets. The food was incredible. You don't realize you have never had Authentic Thai food, until you have experienced authentic Thai Food. The interior isn't glamorous but the food is beyond good.

Julie T.

Yelp
Blah.... I dropped more stars from this place. I still don't get what the rave is about this place when you can find so many other great restaurants along University Avenue. I ran in there just to grab some fresh spring rolls to go and my "dinner" was underwhelming and disappointing. The wrap was done haphazardly, giving the spring roll a really unappetizing look. When i bit into it, the roll was full of vegetables I could not find the rice noodle, shrimp or pork in it. I was hopeful with each crunchy bite, but I find myself frustrated and disappointed with this restaurant. I tried to give them a second chance and I still do. It like this place. The so-called peanut sauce was also very runny.

Eva D.

Yelp
Total dive with authentic, flavorful and mouth watering dishes. In an old Burger King restaurant and the building shakes whenever the green line trains pass, the restaurant is not the right ambience for a first date but definitely with close friends and your loved ones. Service was prompt and pretty good given its a dive. Our water was refilled without us having to ask and food came out pretty quickly. Everything we ordered was amazing. My husband good not stop raving about the Massaman chicken curry. The pad Thai was flavorful, moist and tasty. The crab fried rice was divine!

Hoa N.

Yelp
First time to Bangkok Deli and Restaurant due to the heat outside from attending the Hmong Night Market and we needed to get some A/C especially since we have two little toddlers and didn't want them to get over heated. There were seven of us total with 2 kids and we got seated right away but it took a long time for the wait staff to come by to take our order. We needed two high chairs and they only brought one so we had to flagged someone down to have them bring us another one. Once we got our food order in, it took awhile and then they brought everything out at once instead of bringing out the appetizers first then the main course. We ordered the Thai style papaya salad mild and it was mild but still good. We were use to having sticky rice with the salad and this one didn't come with it, you had to order it separately. The cooked laab had a good amount of spice spices and we had ordered it mild. Both the papaya salad and the laab were served with pieces of cabbage. The chicken fried rice didn't have much flavor and it was a little wet or sticky as I'm used to rice cooked with less water and not too sticky. The boat noodle soup with pork was cooked in beef broth with little pieces of pork and pork meatballs. It looked like someone's leftover soup. Not to appealing for presentation. It was more like pho but I've not had Thai boat noodle soup before and wasn't sure what to expect. Their stuff chicken wings are delicious! Definitely will get that again if we make it back. Giving three stars soccer service was poor but food was good.

Xia Y.

Yelp
Huge menu to choose from. Great authentic Thai food. Very flavorful. But customer service can improve.

Khat P.

Yelp
I had added another star due to the fact that they hired some extra servers, they still have the same ones from before which lack the experience, but atleast the new ones make up for it. Well...I ordered the Tom yom soup , and the wife got the stir fried pork belly with Chinese broccoli. Oh wait. For appetizers we got the chicken satay, and fried pork belly strips. We had gotten the stir fry and soup first before our appetizer, which happens allot here. I suggest you order your appetizers and wait a few min til you order your entree to get those first. Which no matter any place the appetizers should come out first anyway! Well the person that brought out the food was a server that's been there for awhile, and of course she brings it out with out any utensils. Uh I'm not at an Ethiopian restaurant where their food I can eat with my fingers lol. Well lucky a newer server had caught it and apologized and brought it to us. Well on to the food. The food like I said last time is always good. I haven't had a problem here with that. If you like spicy, then order it like you mean it or else it comes out as the spice level of a westerners lol just say really spicy. I say Asian spicy level haha I'm Asian and I know the spice level for us Asians so they know. I also suggest you don't go there between 12 to 3. This is usually the busy time and when you get allot of the ignorant, wild kids, big crowds, rude older non speaking English Asians, and service! Don't get me wrong when I say non speaking English older Asians haha. I'm Asian myself and I know how they are! Lol. Go there after that time, then you'll get better service and your food also. I say food also cause, they don't need to rush and actually take the time to make it how it should be made. Keep that in mind when you go to any Asian joint. Cause they will skip things to keep up with the rush.

Karen K.

Yelp
I don't get it. Why would you not include utensils when I specifically opted in for utensils? I ordered delivery and I checked utensils. I even included a note that said "chopsticks please." I ordered from a hotel and there's no cutlery available in the lobby area. I ended up eating with my hands. Says my server was Elizabeth. Hey Elizabeth, why? Thanks for the primate life experience. If you order delivery here, better call and triple check.

Sara '.

Yelp
Good food but horrible service by the owner. I will no longer support their business. The owner doesn't care about his customers. He NEVER says thank you, and many times after you pay, he walks away as if he's bothered you're standing in front of him. I'll give my business to another Thai restaurant who actually appreciates my business.

Pwe S R.

Yelp
Terrible consumer services. Had bad experience for long waiting for the food. Took nearly 2 hours waiting for my food. Other consumers that came after me was served first . The owner dgaf about the consumers. Bad place to eat. I recommended "Karen Thai Food" St. Paul ..

Zoua V.

Yelp
The food here is absolutely the best but the manager is mean. He doesn't smile ever!!!! I would give this a 5 star but the manager kill the 5t. I went back and now the manager is not as mean any more. I can't complain about their food. Best tasty Thai food.

Kay K.

Yelp
If you're here for pho it's not the best. The broth is more garlic than anything else. The roast pork is dry. The smoothies are made with real fruit though. The massaman curry is oily. Good dishes include beef laab, stir fried pea tips and the thick curry with chicken. However the thick curry isn't really all that thick. It still has a fair amount of coconut milk that can soak up the rice.

Kenny N.

Yelp
I've visited Bangkok Thai Deli at least 3x and have received fairly consistent service and taste of the dishes. This is fairly cheap place to catch some alright Thai food if you're in the neighborhood. However, it is definitely not the best in the Twin Cities. Dishes we have ordered: - Green coconut curry (2.5/5) - this is a famous dish that many customers order. The first few bites are generally good, until it becomes too heavy and salty. I have had better - Chicken and boiled-rice, with ginger sauce (3/5) - standard dish as it does the trick in terms of satisfying any craving or hunger that I may have. Though, the dish is not the best as the rice feels old and the chicken is not cooked to an optimal level - Mango papaya salad (4/5) - not sure how you can mess this dish up, so it tastes fairly good - Tom yum noodles (3.5/5) - a little disappointed in how oily and unsavory this dish was. The broth was not good and I felt like I was eating instant noodles I am not sure if the owners are Thai, which could be a reason for the sub-par taste of the dishes. Let's hope this place improves in the near future.

Cnrnz L.

Yelp
I've been here many times and always forget to take photos for a review. To start off, this place is decent and price is reasonable. This place is less one star from 5 only because tables are often sticky, water doesn't get refilled much, and I sometimes feel pressure to leave because the waiters are quick to give me my check when I'm not even half way finished yet. The food is fabulous tho! They have nice flavors and will work with you based on your own spice level. They r open to making dishes based on how you want it. My stomach always feels satisfied when I leave this place and I don't drive off to McDonalds down the block or something for a burger. I always feel the food is portioned appropriately and just enough to feel full and happy! Their kha poon is one of my favorites besides Lao Thai. They include plenty of meat, noodles r always on point not soggy, and the flavor is not bland where I have to add a bunch of hoisen or siracha sauce. The curry is tasteful where I don't feel the need to add addtl seasonings. The duck laab was succulent, perfectly spiced, and moist with a side of sticky rice. Springs rolls def better than some other places I've been to like Destiny Cafe 2. Bangkok Thai deli actually includes good protein like shrimp, and bbq pork and it's not full of lettuce.

Salinee H.

Yelp
I highly recommend Bangkok Thai Deli for your Thai food cravings. It's definitely casual and affordable...entrees average about $10 and easily can feed two. Service was great. We came in confident about our spicy food pallet. The server recommended mild and she was right. I do believe the clientele at a Thai restaurant is often telling about it authenticity and this restaurant scores high on authenticity.

Martin W.

Yelp
I'm here with a group for lunch. First time, but I will be back. Everything was very flavorful and spicy. No Minnesota spiciness scale inflation here! I went for M+ (spicy) on my main dish, which was quite hot for me, and I love it hot. We started with beef jerky, chicken satay, and wonton appetizers. I got the pineapple curry. Enjoyed it all, except for the beef jerky, which is much better at Roat Osha in Uptown.

Yelp
The setting of this place isn't fancy but the restaurant compensates that with the food. We had heard so much about this place, i and two of my friends decided to get dinner here. We ordered the clear tom yum soup. And honestly it's the best tom tum soup in town. I highly recommend it. Apart from that, we ordered the egg rolls, which were good, and the stir fried basil flat noodles, which was good too. We went all out and ordered the spicy whole fried tilapia fish, which cost us a whooping $30 alone. The fish was good but it could have been better. All in all, the taste stays true to authentic thai cuisine and the prices are reasonable if you aren't feasting on the big items on the menu.

Yelp
This is still my favorite Thai place in the twin cities. Didn't discover it until a few months ago, better than On's Thai (they didn't do well on the rad na - which is a red flag for me as that's one of the basic dishes, how can you go wrong on that). So, the must haves are the steamed fish with spicy chili lime sauce (58). I prefer the tilapia - it is softer than the sea bass but the sea bass wasn't bad. *take the lime out or the sauce turns bitter if you cook the lime in it too long. Definitely worth the cost ! Larb is good as well (we only get the cooked version). Noodle dish - hands down: khao-soi ! Must have. It is so good and yummy, and are rare to find in Thai restaurants. Dessert: love their mango sticky rice. Even if I am super full, I will find a way to inhale that entire plate of yummy fragrant rice. We tried the baked taro thai custard. I'm not a fan of the taro but my husband liked it. I wouldn't try the Chinese dishes as I really believe the strength in this place are the Thai dishes. We will definitely be back over and over again !

Yelp
I'm honestly really surprised by the 3.5 stars this place has, it definitely deserves more stars based on how delicious their food was! Ordered the chicken satay, crispy egg rolls, green curry, and tom yum noodles. The green curry is phenomenal. There is just so much flavor packed into it, I love to drizzle it over my rice and let it all soak in. YUM. Egg rolls are crispy and yummy, and I love the sauce that comes with the chicken satay. My friend loved her tom yum noodles. She had zero complaints. We loved it and would definitely go back!

Yelp
My friend took me here and let me know this place use to be a Burger King! The new owners basically changed nothing but the sign. It's so cheesy, but hey if it works for them no problem. Went here for lunch and dinner don't think I will go back although the food is reasonable and they have a great thai iced tea their customer service sucks!!! It's just too annoying for me. The first time I went for lunch and got the Fried chicken wings as my appetizer to share. These babies came out sizzling hot and fast. I would let you know that they did not disappoint with these wings!!!!!Then I ordered the Spicy Chicken Pad Thai which was really flavorful, spicy and a large portion. I ate every last bit of it! So the first time was a hit and the second time was a miss! My second time I went for Dinner and ordered the Mushroom and Broccoli Entree. This was a much healthier option, but it did not hit the spot flavor wise for me. They took forever to bring out our friends food. We had to constantly ask for utensils and refill for our water, it just got too annoying. These are the basics of running a restaurant when it comes to customer service. I had the Thai iced tea both times. Very generous portion!

Yelp
We were on our way to Thai Cafe when we saw a bunch of cars pulled into the parking lot of an old Burger King building. It was July 4th evening and I did not want to chance it on any other place. I just saw the word "Thai" across the top and pulled in. From the outside looking in, the whole place was packed. The food looked delicious as well. We ordered to go. The gentleman behind the counter had a serious face but was pleasant through our ordering processing. Husband wanted laab; they had a variety of meat and you may choose raw or cooked. We opted for cooked beef. I asked for "medium" spiciness level and I regretted it. It was super spicy so bad that I couldn't eat a spoonful. Sticky rice is an additional charge. Husband finished the laab as it was legit for him. I ordered the thick noodles with gravy thinking that they were pad thai noodle size as I was craving for drunken noodles and that was not on their menu. It was hu-mun-go thick noodles. The gravy was flavorful however this combination would not be something I would order again. The noodles were too big. Since our order was to go, they even offered small packets of extra ground chili pepper. Husband took several packets and consumed it that evening. The menu had a lot to choose from. The servers were attentive and they came over to check on us several times even if we were just sitting in the front waiting for our food. It took about 15 minutes. Drop a star because it needs a face lift. I felt like I was at an Asian Burger King the whole time.

Yelp
First time trying this place so maybe my review is doing the store an injustice. BUT! I did manage to try a bunch of other dishes as I visited the place with a few of my co-workers. I ordered the Tom Yum w Chili Oil which wasn't too bad but their Pad Thai seemed a little bland. Also, the meatball was hard to chew, with some of them full of discernable fats. Overall okay experience - egg roll wasn't bad either.

Yelp
Today we ordered pad Thai, the Thick Curry, and the Kuey Teow noodles. Spice levels: medium, mild, medium, respectively. Taste was good, not spicy enough for our Malaysian taste buds. Biggest complaint is that the meat for all three dishes (pork, chicken, and beef) were overcooked. I suspect they do not cook the meat with the dish fresh. Pad Thai was very saucy, which wins this place points. But the curry was a little too salty.
