"This is the undisputed spot in Sac for silky, hand-rolled rice noodle sheets. The dac biet gives you a sampling of three different varieties (shrimp paste, pork-and-wood ear mushroom, plain), which you can dunk in or douse with nuoc mam (sweetened, tangy fish sauce). It also boasts banh tom khoai chien (shredded sweet potato and shrimp fritters), cake-y mung bean fritters, and an uber-tasty, sour nugget of fermented pork sausage studded with whole peppercorns." - Becky Grunewald

Everything we ordered was delicious! Definitely a 5/5! Everything came out quick.. I got the #11 banhcuon. Definitely surprised at how much food came out on one plate.. maybe next time I'll take half to go 😂. Definitely recommend this spot.

This place does it right and being vietnamese and a chef, I know. The food is prepared properly and served fresh. Service is quick and price point is extremely affordable. Have been several times and happy every time!

Super good banh cuon with big portion sizes! Their menu is huge, one of the biggest I’ve seen. They have pretty much all the Vietnamese food you can think of! The service is good and the food came out pretty fast. I’d come back and recommend them!

This is unfortunate as I’ve been coming here often. This time, everything was bad. The pho noodle broth was warm (not steaming hot) the noodles were hard & cold. The egg rolls were old, obviously it had been reheated in hot oil which failed because it was greasy & wasn’t piping hot as usual, but yet warm to the touch. The Vietnamese ham was old (refer to picture) the battered shrimp was old. Everything was overall gross. We threw away $57 dollars of take out food. Not cool.

I'm giving it a 3 stars not cause of the food. The food their is delicious, but the customer service sucked. We had to ask for water's multiple times and never got a refill. The servers or FOH were standing around right after we had asked for water. They took forever to take our orders when there was 1 customer ahead of us. We ate and went to the front and paid and left right away. No matter how shifty the service was, I always leave a tip. But this time my little sister wouldn't allowed me to leave cause she was so mad. I guess it's okay not to tip when the service sucked big time.

I have been eating here for many many years, and spend tons of wonderful times with my closest friends and family eating delicious bánh cuốn, vegetarian at that. However, it is with deepest regrets that I have to leave this review. I overheard that this restaurant does not allow workers to accept tips when the tip is given under either 20% of the meal price or $20 and under (I don’t remember which). In other words, workers may accept tips from customers when it is either above 20% of the meal price or above $20. This deeply saddens me, because I won’t feel right eating at a place I love so much knowing they don’t treat their workers right. I hope to come back one day, because I love their food.

Decent to good. Banh cuon is one of my favorite dishes so I might be biased. Grilled pork didnt have almost any char on it (which is what is supposed to make it good). $76 for 5 dishes, no drinks. Would recommend at least a visit if you're into this kind of food. Service was not great as the place was mostly empty and they had us sitting forever without coming to get our order (unusual for Vietnamese places). They brought our food out separately and I got my plate at LEAST 10 minutes before the next plate came, then another 5 minutes before the rest came out. My food was 100% cold by the time everyone could eat. Indoor and outdoor dining as of now.

Great customer service, the food is fantastic and are re-opened for indoor dining. My favorite is the #12 Banh Cuon platter filled with ground pork and black mushrooms with Viet pork roll (sliced) on the side. My daughter had the 44a, Broken Rice platter with BBQ pork which comes with a small bowl of broth on the side to sip.

Yelp
Tried a variety of dishes with a group of friends. My friend, who is Vietnamese, ordered a bunch of different things for us to try to give us a tasting of Vietnamese cuisine. Not sure the names of everything but I really liked the banh xeo or Vietnamese pancake, bbq pork with vermicelli and spring rolls. I have been to Vietnam before and everything tasted authentic. Service was good, prices were reasonable and food came out quickly.

Yelp
Pretty bad experience today. None of the staff knew their menu... and when I inquired about a their banh canh, i had asked if the fish cake was made in house (I've had bad experiences before at other Vietnamese restaurants where the fish cake ended up being a fish ball from the grocery store), the server asked me to pick something else because she said she didn't want to ask... she would get yelled at... which I found really odd.. eventually she went to ask and confirmed the fish cake was made in house . Awesome that's exactly what I was looking for. Then when my order actually came out it was missing the one item I inquired about fish cake. I let the server know it wasn't in there, and she looked at me blankly and said maybe they don't have it... Mind you... I spoke to the server in Vietnamese so it definitely wasn't a case of miscommunication. The server pulled another server over who gaslighted me by saying what I ordered doesn't have the fish cake... I didn't have the menu to pull it back open to confirm so I just let it go but that was one of the main reasons I ordered the banh canh..... after the meal I checked the menu again.. and informed them that it indeed does have fish cake listed as a part of the meal, the server just looked at me blankly and said she didn't know and that she's new.. so basically they couldn't even apologize for the miscommunication or check with a lead/manager. Pretty disappointing...

Yelp
I really like this place. They have delicious sauce and Banh cuon with a variety of stuffing in case you can't have pork. Their chilli is actually spicy too . This area is really good for its Vietnamese food, but Tay Ho offers yellow noodle, and other soup noodle options that make it a choice place to sit down and eat. The service isn't horrible, but a lack in communication for sure.

Ann H.

Yelp
Finally satisfied my banh cuon cravings! This place makes the most delicious banh cuon. I decided to try the pork chop rice plate. It was nicely charred and had good flavor. My only complaint was that there were not larger pork chops. I am looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
This is the most expensive meal I have had as an adult. Had I not had to replace two windows in my car for over $1000. Then it probably would have been an ok meal. But instead at the end of the meal we walked out to see our car had been broken into and all of the stuff taken out of the back of the vehicle. Nothing was visible. Someone knew that we were there and knew it was ok to come and hit the car at just the right time. But now to the food. I crave Banh Cuon ever since I had it 25 years ago at my wife's aunts house. She made it fresh and nothing beats fresh Banh Cuon. This was pretty good. And the variety was there. I wasn't really fond of the flavoring on the egg rolls, it tasted more like lumpia than vietnamese egg rolls, but that could just be a family recipe situation. The place was empty when we walked in, and we were strangely walked to the farthest corner of the store. The service was standard for a small family ran Asian place as far as I was concerned. I will definitely not go back. Ever ever ever. As we were calling the police and insurance company, someone walked up and said that this happens every day here. We were warned? Were we told to keep an eye on our car? Nope. Instead we were seated in a location that we couldn't even see our car. Very very disappointing.

Yelp
We recently went to Banh Cuon Tay Ho in Sacramento. To be honest, I was hesitant at first because we didn't like the one that was located in San Jose. But to our surprise it was better than expected. We both ordered banh cuon that's filled with ground pork and woodear mushroom. It came with what felt like a mountain of beansprouts, some cha (Vietnamese ham), and a yam tempura (which was super delicious). The fiancé also got a side order of mung bean tempura which he enjoyed. You could tell everything was freshly made as it was still warm.

Lily S.

Yelp
The food here was so good and they have lots of variety and combinations to choose from! I always come out of here full and happy. The service is usually pretty good and quick. The ambiance is welcoming and clean.

Dan D.

Yelp
Tried once because friend recommended. Never go back again. The place is dirty. Food is so so. Service? None.

Benson W.

Yelp
3/5 stars Was on the way up to Reno's and wanted some bun Bo hue and decided to stop here. It wasn't bad but the broth wasn't there. Friend had to keep adding shrimp paste lol. But honestly what was I expecting when the name of the restaurant specializes in something else. I've had basic versions of banh cuon before but this was so special and delicious I'd definitely come back if in the area.

Natalie H.

Yelp
This place serves authentic banh cuon! The food was very fresh and tasty. I wouldn't say customer service is the number one priority here, but if you're just looking for good, authentic vietnamese food, this is a good place. Parking is ample and it's located only a few steps away from nearby boba and ice cream places.

Paulina L.

Yelp
Ordered Togo here and got a bunch of stuff like shrimp with vermicelli noodles and bbq chicken with vermicelli noodles and pork, chicken, and Korean bbq ribs rice plate. I ate the Korean bbq rice plate and it was delicious. Generous with the rice and the delicious pickled veggies and the sauce. It was the right amount and kept me full. The prices are very good as well and will definitely order here again. Great bang for your buck for sure.

Wendy F.

Yelp
Finally found a place in sac that has banh cuon! I would recommend coming here as there is also a large selection on their menu. Just be aware as this can be a busy place with difficulty finding parking in this plaza. Food was really good and you can tell it was made fresh. Service was a tad lacking as I had to flag someone down for more water. Regardless, I would come back to try other items on their menu.

Christine T.

Yelp
Quickly seated, ordered and food was prompt. Came here during the weekend but still wasn't a problem with seating or time. We have gotten takeout from here so I was surprised to see that the Banh Cuon was different between what is served in restaurant and served as take out. To be honest I preferred the take out. There is more filling in the take out more of the traditional flat shape than what I took a picture of. Everything was still good and filling. The fried yam was extra greasy but overall we'll be back but most likely for takeout.

Mai L.

Yelp
Food was fresh and warm and quickly. The restaurant was partially full with music. Service was quick and fresh!

Kaylee C.

Yelp
Delicious food! I wanted some Pho, and Ban Cuon Tay Ho had good reviews on Yelp. I'm glad I gave them a try! What I ordered and how I liked it: -Pho Bo Vien: Beef broth Pho with beef meatballs (buy one get one free on Postmates!) The broth is SOO good! The meatballs are kind of questionable but I think that's just preference. They don't offer Pho with just flank steak online. Comes with a hefty amount of mint, basil, bean sprouts, onions, lettuce and chives. And of course, vermicelli noods. Yum! -Mi Ga Kho: Fried chicken on top of egg noodles (with no soup), bok choy, radish, green onions and shiitake mushrooms. The chicken was tender and juicy. Loved everything and how it all went well together. The radish was pickled and spicy. Nem Cuon: spring rolls with pork. Don't let their pictures fool you, they are HUGE! Very good, I took out one of the pieces of pork to have more veggies in my rolls. There were two large pieces. Cha Gio: deep fried egg rolls with pork. These were tasty! I liked the chili sauce they serve them with. Pretty heavy, though. I'll be back!

Carissa B.

Yelp
My fiancé and I wanted to give this place a try for the first time! And we had a really good experience. We ordered the spicy noodle soup, and the Banh cuon with pork and the one with cha and shrimp. We enjoyed everything! The portion sizes were a lot for the both of us, we kind of over ordered by getting the soup! But everything was delicious, we definitely plan on coming back again. We also ordered a lychee green tea before we left and that itself was super refreshing. Service was quick and attentive!

Nancy C.

Yelp
My new fave spot for Viet food. Came here for lunch on a Sunday and this place was pretty busy (not packed). Waiters and waitresses were ok not super friendly. Food was delicious though!! Good portions too. I was sad that I wasn't able to try the Banh Xeo. Waiter said it would take an hour to make (IDK).

Candace Y.

Yelp
As always, coming to this restaurant with a big appetite is a rewarding experience! This time, I brought a couple of friends with me to try the banh cuon specialty. I got the mixed platter while my friends got seafood banh cuon. So much food, we had to get a small take-home container. As with other Vietnamese restaurants, you order at the table, but have to go to the register to tell them what you had to pay for it. (If you wait for a bill at the table, you'll be waiting a long time.)

Allen C.

Yelp
Some friends and I decided to have dinner here on a Friday night. Plenty of parking spaces and plenty of tables within. The restaurant has a comforting vibe where you can have a nice meal in peace. They only had a few tables occupied and noticed more people just ordered to go. This is our usual spot for Banh Cuon (Vietnamese Rice Rolls) but I decided to get Hu Tieu Kho (rice noodles with steamed pork, shrimps, fish cakes, and quail eggs) but the dried version. There was a bit of miscommunication and so I was given the soup version. I didn't mind as the soup was flavorful and warmed me up. I did wish it was hotter as the rice noodles were all clumped up which took time to separate. Besides that, there was a fair amount of steamed pork and shrimp. Overall, it was a nice meal to enjoy in this winter season and would come back to try out other items.

Tommy T.

Yelp
One of my favorite Vietnamese foods is banh cuons and this spot offers a good, fully loaded plate. This plate comes with banh cuons, that have meat and mushrooms inside a rice roll, ham, veggies, and a fried sweet potato. All this gets covered with traditional sauce and makes a light and filling meal. The service is nice and quick, so you can get in and out fast during lunchtime. I would order a side of egg rolls to increase your crunch factor.

Lucy L.

Yelp
Came here with a friend around 230pm. We were only one there. Took them a while to sit us as they were still chatting amongst themselves. You can tell they're all workers cause they're all wearing same tees. Nice menu options. I wanna try everything.

Tracy N.

Yelp
Everything was pretty good except for the nem cuon. I did not like the peanut sauce at all, it tasted weird to me. It might have been fishy or something but it didn't taste like peanuts, and the actual nem itself was a bit bland. Everything on the banh cuon plate tasted great, that was our favorite. We also ordered one orange juice but there was a lot of sugar. It seemed like there was only one person working there while everyone else might have been on break during lunch time, so service was okay.

Lizz V.

Yelp
Best spot for fresh banh cuon in Sacramento. Always fresh, soft, and silky. I always get #12 the combination banh cuon and the rice rolls stuff with ground pork is always packed. Portions are so huge. I always end up having left overs togo. Everything always comes out tasting good. They leave a whole bottle of the sweet chili fish sauce on each table for you to pour your own desired amount. The dipping sauce has the perfect balance of sweet and tang to it and not over powering with fish sauce. Place has been updated and looks fairly clean. They can get a little busy on days during lunch hours, and since it's freshly made to order, sometimes it can take a bit to get your food. But if you go often enough, you know it wouldn't disappoint you. We went on a Saturday morning around 11 and it wasn't busy yet.

Marti L.

Yelp
Yum! A restaurant specializing banh cuon, which are a Vietnamese rice roll dish made of steamed rice flour sheets rolled with filling. We happened to stumble upon this restaurant and decided to check it out. It was super busy but the staff were able to get us a table quickly. Normally banh cuon is eating as appetizers but we saw people ordering them as entrees so we did too! The house special banh cuon did not disappoint. It had a huge variety of items including banh cuon filled with ground pork and mushroom, Vietnamese ham, shrimp and sweet potato fritters. The seafood banh cuon had ground shrimp. We also ordered the dry egg noodle dish with soup on the side. So good! Most of my party never had banh cuon before and everyone enjoyed the meal!

Julio P.

Yelp
Best Coffee! ‍ One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants, foods always delicious and service is great!

Francina L.

Yelp
We visited on Father's Day and although it was lunch time and pretty packed, the space is quite big and were sat down immediately. Our entire party wasn't there yet, but they the waiter came over and still asked us if we wanted anything to drink and order any starters. We had multiple people ask us if we wanted something to drink so that was great. We started off with the combo appetizer (#11) and it was quite delicious! Just nice to be able to get variety where other pho spots don't always give you that. We also ordered the deep fried egg rolls and rice rolls with pork in them. Everything was freshly made and were tasty. We also ordered pho ga and it was decent, I feel like I've had broth with more flavor and some friends ordered the bun rieu and thought it was a little too sweet. Overall, very solid spot and a nice space to enjoy with family.

Hai L.

Yelp
I've eaten from here many times but only takeout. Finally went to dine inside. They are known for their Banh Cuon which is a Vietnamese dish that means rice rolls. Tried their combination which is their Classic Rice Crepe & Rolls filled with ground pork & mushroom, Vietnamese ham, shrimp & sweet potato fritter, cilantro and their fish sauce. Super delicious. Their avocado shake was just OK, but I did enjoy their egg rolls.

Monica W.

Yelp
Yassss so delicious!!! If you love the rice noodles (Banh Cuon) this is the place to hit up in Sac. Our friends told us about this place previously and I'm glad we got to try it on our way back home from Tahoe! There was barely anyone in the restaurant so we got seated right away which was nice. What we ordered: - Banh Cuon Tay Ho special: It was so filling and delicious! There's fish sauce already on your table for you to use with the Banh Cuon! It was so much flavor and it definitely can get you full easily so the combo is a good portion to share with 3-4 people I'd say. It also came with the ham that my husband's mom usually gets and it is so bomb! Vermicelli with beef & shrimp: On a hot day in Sac, you can't go wrong with ordering this. The meat was grilled to perfection and lots of flavors. You also pour as much as you want of the fish sauce. Service was okay as it was a bit hard to get attention from the waiters but that's okay. The food was delicious and I'm so glad we go to try this place out!

Connie B.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to get Banh Cuon. They offer a huge variety of Vietnamese food and the service is quick! I always get their house special Banh cuon since it offers a little bit of everything and the prices are nice and affordable! I love how they also offer party plates so they cover your for a gathering as well.

Eve H.

Yelp
One of the best places I've been to in California for banh cuon. The rice noodles were delicately soft, shrimp fritter and egg roll fresh and crispy, plus other interesting toppings. San Jose Viet places can't even beat it. Got the #11 Dac Biet combo and #38 BBQ pork egg roll vermicelli bowl. Other guest got the #54 banh xeo- amazing big and crispy (biggest one they seen) and #25 bun bo hue (wasn't amazing) Wished I live in the area or I go more.

Sophie T.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants - I always make sure to stop by when I'm in the area. It really represents how Vietnamese food is more than just pho! My family normally orders one of the banh cuons (flour sheets - #11-18). My favorite is #18 because I love the ground shrimp in the banh coun. Banh Coun tastes similar to a thinner and more textured version of a rice noodle. It's chewy and tastes great with a meat / vegetable and sauce! The Banh Cong and the Banh Tom Chien Khoai are my favorite appetizers to get from here. Banh Cong is a tasty fried dough with full Mung Beans inside. It's a must try if you're a fan of Mung beans, which gives the dish a nice texture and subtle flavor. The Banh Tom Chien is similar to a yam tempura but more crispy and fried! The yam is cut thinly, so it's crunchy and has a nice sweetness to it.

Lelan Q.

Yelp
A very clean and a thoughtful thought out place for a sit down meal of all the sweet and sticky delicious food toppings over soft slurpy rice rolls. The sweet and sour chili sauce was perfect with my rice rolls, and the 3 different Banh styles, was so complete. I liked this style of cooking and this would make me crave and remember about this type of food forever. Thanks for cooking for me.

Ann N.

Yelp
Banh cuon was amazing!!! They had three different kinds - meat, plain, and with shrimp seasoning. There were all kinds of toppings too - egg rolls, mung bean, and sweet potato fried shrimp. I would definitely recommend getting this if you come here. The bun Bo hue was nothing special, which makes sense because their specialty is in the restaurant name. Good service overall. The place was pretty empty so it was a quiet vibe.

Vivian L.

Yelp
Ordered the combination Banh Cuo because of the photos and the table next to us that ordered it. I enjoyed the dish and would order it again. The restaurant was definitely busy during lunch, but our food came out pretty fast. I like how they give you a small pitcher of the sauce so you could pour and use as much as you'd like. The only negatives were the lack of refills for our water and the lady that took our order didn't tell us they no longer serve meatballs. It wasn't until we were served our food and I asked did they let us know.

Colleen L.

Yelp
Pretty decent place for lunch and dinner. I was in Sac and was looking for a place to get noodle soup and came across Banh Cuon Tay Ho. We got the banh xeo, BBH and nem cuon. The banh xeo was super thin and crispy, so good. The nem cuon was really good too, but wished the pork was a bit more charred. Unfortunately, I was kind of disappointed with the BBH. There was not enough flavor in the broth, a little too light and not spicy enough. Service was okay, I had to ask for my tea because they forgot and they also didn't give me the cabbage for the BBH haha. But decent spot!

Stephen C.

Yelp
I had came here about 10 years ago and it was very tasty. The menu had no English but the pictures help us that don't know the language. Now I tried this place again, today. The menu was updated and very informative. The servers are constantly attentive and on top of whatever you need. The staff was super friendly. The food was amazing!! So fresh and vibrant. I tried a few different dishes. The ONLY critique I could give, which is also a personal preference, is the fried chicken needed some sort of seasoning. But all in all, A very positive experience.

Bonnie N.

Yelp
Heard great things about this place but it was just okay. The guy taking our order superrr rushed us and we felt like we had no choice but to order two specials. Even when asking us what drinks, he was already taking steps to leave the table so we said just water. The guy who brought the food was nice though. Food tasted okay but nothing out of the ordinary.

Alex T.

Yelp
I love this place because the food is authentic and good too. . I haven't Been here for years, but I had to revisit with my friend and I had a good experience. . Banh cuon is the rice noodle thin wrapped with minced pork and black fungus. The quality of it is fresh and great for an appetizer or just to not on with another dish. Great for summer food to me, because it's not heavy but quite refreshing with the veggies it comes with and dip everything with fish sauce. . I had the banh cuon special which comes with just the thin steamed rice noodle with some dried shrimp bits on top which is orange. A few pieces of the banh cuon steam rice noodle with black fungus. It comes with vietnamese sausage, ham and fried yams. So this combo plate is like a little bit of everything and texture to each thing on the plate is interesting. This is a recommendation if you come here. Also 12.99 for this plate was affordable and reasonable. . Bun rieu oc - bun rieu is like if you know you know. It's tomatoes based broth with rice vermecielli noodles. Also chunks of pork and crab meat balls home made. As well lots of snails which is not your regular snails you see on the ground lol, but there is a good amount in the bowl of bun rieu. . Overall service is a hit or miss. Ambiance is not fancy but casual and can be busy most times so service won't be the best. I like this spot too because it has plenty of parking too. Also near by or same shopping center has a few dessert and drink spots so some sweets after this is a yass. Hope this review helps and thanks for reading have a yelptastic day .

Yelp
Last Sunday ( August 4/2024) I was coming to order takeout 2 dishes Bánh Cuốn Tây Ho) . I brought home and very disappointed about the food. They are missed: Bánh cuốn, bánh chiên, chả, ném . I try to call the shop, but the phone disconnect . Never go back there . WARNING FOR SOMEONE ORDERED TAKE OUT

Crystal N.

Yelp
SO GOOD, everything was so flavorful and fresh and the portions were HUGE. It barely looked like I ate any despite eating as much as I could. I told the waiter I needed 2 more minutes to order and he never came back lol :( but I was able to flag someone down to take my order.

Echo C.

Yelp
This is by far the best and the most authentic Vietnamese food place in Sacramento area! Love their rice rolls and the SAUCE! The sauce is the soul for any dishes here. I 100% recommend coming here to try some of the rare Vietnamese dishes especially for the summer time! Enjoy!

Charles F.

Yelp
Their #11 combination special is great as ever, with good portion. The sauce is sweet and delicious, it went great with everything even the pink sour pork. If youre new to or unsure what to get here, the #11 combo is a safe way to go for Vietnamese food. Tay Ho has consistently been a delicious place wtih good food portions.

Rem C.

Yelp
Finally, I found my favorite authentic place for Vietnamese Food. The food and the servings is good! Friendly staff as well!

Cathie D.

Yelp
The foods here are always consistently delicious, we ordered Canh Bun, Bun Cha Dong Xuan and bánh tôm chiên, bì cuốn, all are excellent! Good service!

Thai M.

Yelp
Food and service here is generally ok. Today I ordered 30 eggrolls and this what I got - a bunch of cracked/broken eggrolls. When I picked up they looked good because all the sides that were cracked were laid out where I couldn't see them. What a shame.

Jacinda C.

Yelp
I've had this place bookmarked for a while, and although I couldn't stop by in person, we ordered a BBQ pork and shrimp vermicelli, BBQ chicken vermicelli, and nem cun (BOGO free whoo) via Uber eats. The food arrived still warm which was great, and the portion sizes are large and reasonably priced. Each entree lasted two meals for me! The nem cun spring roll was a bit more plain with just vermicelli, lettuce, and meat, but it had a lot of meat and was big. They serve it with the orange sauce rather than peanut sauce. The bbq meat had good flavor but seemed a bit dry. I would come back and give it another try in person.

Amber S.

Yelp
Great food, but poor service . I would come back for food tho, but maybe to go order lol

Kay L.

Yelp
The service is great. We had it delivered, but the packaging was just amazing and showed that it was taken care of by someone that cares. This is the best restaurant that i can say that i gad the best delivery from. The rolls were delicious! The peanut sauce is out of this world.

Dom N.

Yelp
They have the sixth best phở bò in town. The broth is more spiced than other shops around. I like how they put a lot of green spring onions in it. Other good items they carry is bánh ướt thanh trì chay, khoai chiên, bánh xèo chay, and bánh hỏi bò nướng lá lốt. The only thing is, sometimes they're slow when they get slammed.
