The Best Restaurants in Mira Mesa | Eater San Diego

"This Vietnamese fusion establishment specializes in the multitude of ways you can devour the scrumptious filling of protein and pickled vegetables sandwiched inside a French-style baguette. Here, you can order the conventional version as well as modern takes like banh mi tacos, banh mi fries, and “banhritos”—banh mi stuffed in a tortilla like a burrito." - Helen I. Hwang

Just a little shop with Great service and food. The sandwiches are delicious and so is everything else. Cool name cool vibe and great owners.

Steph Marco

Google
great tasting and fresh sandwiches, though prices are a bit higher than other banh mi shops in the area.

Sunil Kurian

Google
Had no issues with the food. We had the Barbeque Pork & Blvd, special banh mi. Both of the sandwiches were tasting good and was well worth the price. A very small space, so not many tables. There are some tables outside. Unfortunately, there are a lot of homeless people around. So felt a little uncomfortable sitting out and eating.

Ian Nicastro

Google
Biggest open face bao I've ever had, the staff recommended their rib meat and it did not disappoint, great flavor and big portions! Banh mi here are large and filling. Not much seating inside, but they have a lot of fun menu items.

Kevin Zhao

Google
I'm trying hard not to be a hater, but starting your price off at 9 bucks a Banh mi better mean you're serving up some premium stuff. But when your bread breaks apart and your taste is actually slightly worse than the place down the street that bakes their bread fresh and starts off their prices at $6.50, it makes me not want to come back. I got the #1 for $10 and it's the same style as every other place that charges less than $7 for, and with an inferior taste. Wife got a BBQ pork and when I took a bite it tasted like grease fire, and she said the last bite of it was pure fat.

Emma Liu (Miri)

Google
this is the first banh mi i ever had and ever since then i eat a banh mi every time i see one is available all across the us. but still banh mi blvd is undefeated

Jesse Lee

Google
Super friendly owners, the sandwich was tasty and served up fast. A little bit expensive and wish more meats.

Google
Very catchy store name if you ask me. Hey! Where you at? You can catch me ordering at Banh Mi Blvd! Lol. I always order their grilled beef. I’ll definitely try this next time. Banh Mi Filipino Longanisa Tacos. With longanisa, pickled daikons, carrots, cilantro, and spicy mayo in corn tortillas I concur what they said on their website. “Traditional Vietnamese sandwiches paired with unique fusion specialties. Fresh bread baked daily. Home of the original banh mi tacos and fries.”

Yelp
WOW!! As a banh mi lover, I was a little skeptical at first, but everything was amazing!! (All for a little over $20 too) Tried 4 different banh mi tacos and all of them tasted amazing!! If I had to rank my personal favorites, it'd be bbq pork, lemongrass ribeye, longanisa, and chicken. BLVD fries were 10/10. Fries were crispy, not too thick nor oily!! The sauce and toppings all complemented well with each other too. Having it served in a cute little Valentine's container was a cherry on top haha! Service was great as well. The guy made us feel welcomed, answered all our questions, and we had a great conversation going.

Yelp
Bread is super soft. It felt more like a Cuban sandwich than a banh mi. Meats inside are too thin and everything just tasted like soy sauce. You couldn't differentiate the different flavors of the meat, pate, mayo, pickled veggies. $10 for one banh mi.

Yelp
Friendly, fast service. Food was tasty...best thing was the fresh-baked bread. I ordered the BBQ beef short ribs banh mi (#12) and my husband got the BBQ pork banh mi (#6). Both had a good ratio of vegetables and meat. Sandwiches were about a good long and neither of us could finish so we're saving the other halves for later. We also ordered the Banh Mi Blvd fries with roasted chicken. Fries were crispy and the roasted chicken was sliced in thin stripes. Fries were covered in a spicy mayo with finely shredded carrots. Nice flavor...slightly sweet with a good kick. Looking forward to trying some of the other menu items like the drinks and sandwiches with shrimp, egg or longanisa. Sat at an outdoor table which was perfect because it was a breezy day. Inside seating was limited but tbh it was kind of busy/messy in there so I welcomed the less crowded space outside. Lots of parking. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area!

Yelp
pretty disappointed in the bahn mi. sad cause i have been on the hunt for some good lemongrass dishes so was excited to see a lemongrass ribeye bahn mi on the menu. the meat was super dry, like it had been cooked 3 times over & barely any flavor the carrots & daikon did not taste pickled at all. like it was fresh carrots but just stale, & the daikon also had no flavor. i did like that the sandwich was long skinny cause it made it easy to eat but there also wasn't much too it. the place looked sad & dusty & they really only wanted to sell their hats. merch Pop heads was everywhere. like they weren't even trying to run an eatery. to top it off there were a swarm of flies just buzzing around the tables. disappointed & pulling this one off the list

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place for a very long time. I was finally in the area. We ordered the BBQ pork Banh Mi, one egg roll (was okay), and Lemongrass ribeye Banh Mi fries. Unfortunately, this place didn't live up to the hype. I was disappointed in the bread quality. It was soft and slightly old tasting. The meat was on the dry side too. The cashier was friendly. We waited about 10 mins for our food. We were the only people there. The cashier did inform us that they just got back from a huge catering event. I liked the huge variety of can drink options. From water, energy drinks, soda, juices, & etc. Overall: - Flavor: 6 out of 10 - Food Quantity: 7 out of 10 - Value: 6 out of 10 - Service: 7 out of 10 - Cleanliness: 8 out of 10 - Restrooms: they don't have one for the public I might give it another chance if I'm in the area again because I did want to try their Banh-burrito.

Yelp
Came here after a hike, and it was the perfect spot to grab a banh mi! Parking: 5/5 Huge parking lot in a plaza. Service: 5/5 Fast, efficient, and friendly. Banh Mi: 5/5 The baguette was soft and pillowy. Fresh vegetables, with the egg and tofu cooked perfectly. Amazing fish sauce and peanut butter sauce (I love my sauces). I devoured my sandwich! Ambiance: 5/5 Plenty of seating, both indoors and outdoors. The place was clean and inviting. I'll definitely be back to try more of their food items and a smoothie. I also love that they offer Filipino items like longanisa, and they even have Spam and Egg rice bowls!

Yelp
I'm giving it a two only bc the guy was nice. I ordered the "Grilled" chicken breast and my husband got lemongrass short rib Bahn Mi. My order was definitely NOT grilled it was fried!! My husband's sandwich had barely any meat and the meat he did bite into was fat...so if you want a greasy fried (not grilled chicken breast and fatty sandwich than this is your place!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been here twice and the banh mi's are good! The bbq pork and ribeye are my favorites! They make everything as you order so sometimes the wait can take a while. I called ahead and still had to wait 20 minutes when I got there. I was in a rush (which is why I called ahead) and ended up being late going back to work
google avatar

Carolyn W.

Yelp
Banh mi size is all right but could use better meat:bread ratio though. This place is heavily ordered to go but there is small indoor dining area. The BBQ pork sandwich had a lot of fatty portions of the meat and more grease than I would like or expect from a banh mi sandwich. Overall I would give 3 stars for good service, nice clean area, and all right banh mi. There are other local areas with better price and meat quality though.

Yelp
Not bad for banh mi. I stopped by here after my dentist appointment next door. The entrance is not immediately visible and it's around the corner which makes the place look closed. Service is pretty fast, I got my sandwich in less than 10 minutes. I got the grilled pork, but it didn't seem like the pork was freshly grilled. Like many reviews say, the baguette is not crispy as you would expect for a banh mi. I did like the amount of daikon and carrots, and the fresh bite of jalapeño and cilantro. Overall, it's not the best banh mi I have had but fine for a quick bite. I would try their other sandwiches like their #1 or #2 special that have intriguing fillings. The interior is small but had a lot of seating. They also had a good amount of merch for sale like water bottles and keychains and even Hello Kitty funkopops, pretty cool for a small banh mi shop!

Yelp
This is a great place to go for a quick meal on the go! I would not dine in since seating is limited, AC was questinonable, and the place overall could be better kept; however, for a take out place, this shop had exactly what we wanted - springs rolls with NO noodles! Without having to ask for substitutions, we ordered their spring rolls, which are made with a meat (or vegetarian), lettuce, cilantro, and pickled daikon and carrots. We opted for the chicken, which has another bonus of no MSG and is baked! Perfect for a light lunch. Definitely will be back to try their other springs rolls, or maybe their tacos. Yum!

Yelp
I was always intrigued by this place. I'm not usually into fusion, but this seems to work. Overall, I loved the food. Got the burrito with bbq pork. I questioned whether or not I would like the jalapeño poppers and mozzarella sticks, but once I bit into it, I loved it. It's the perfect burrito to have after a few drinks. It was rich but perfectly balanced with the pickled radish and carrots. I also got the fries but with lemongrass ribeye. I think I preferred the lemongrass ribeye over the bbq pork. It's packed with flavor. Loved the fries. Definitely prefer this over carne asada fries any day. I knocked a star just because I didn't love the vietnamese coffee. It was concentrated, which I liked, but it had a flavor note to it that I couldn't recognize. Will definitely come back to try the tacos and sandwiches. Will update my review then!

Yelp
If you haven't here and you live in Mira Mesa, you're stupid. Real Homie place great food laid-back.

Rita S.

Yelp
Love coming here for a fast lunch. I usually will get a bbq pork sandwich and it's delicious and fresh. Meat is tender and does have any fatty pieces. Love the pickled veggies. They also have some premade items like the fresh spring rolls which I also pick up. Parking is never an issue as this location is located in shopping center and there's always parking.
google avatar

Yelp
Yum! Love that they have traditional bánh mì, as well as bánh mì bowls and tacos. And salt and pepper wings! Their menu is deep. I got the #2 Joe's Special, with sausage (lập xưởng), pork loaf (chả), and egg, while boyf got the surf and turf (pork and shrimp). The sandwiches are huge, and well worth the $10-12 cost, packed full of meat and fresh, snappy jalapeños. It was so good that halfway through I was contemplating going back to get sandwiches for lunch for the work week. I need to come back to try the bowls and those wings next!

Yelp
I stopped by this place for lunch as the front of the store got my attention. The inside was a bit dark & not as appealing as the outside. I ordered the bbq banh mi.The sandwich was good but the cilantro seemed a bit old. The bread was also missing that crunch. The staff here weren't too welcoming but the service was quick. Honestly not sure if I'd come back here again. The banh mi was $10.80.

Yelp
Writing this on a food high from the Kirby Special! ($11) & an iced coffee (sm $4) Haven't had a banh mi since I moved from East Side San Jose where we have our own little Saigon and this place did not disappoint! Words don't do it justice so here's a pic for reference.. warning size does matter ;)
google avatar

Andrew C.

Yelp
They serve some great Banh Mi and Vietnamese fusion cuisine here at a decent price. If you're looking for a quick meal that'll fill you, this is the place to go. The service was nice and quick; I got the #2 Joe's Special and it was so creamy and delicious!

Mark W.

Yelp
As one can tell from my profile I don't leave many reviews. This place was a winner. I ordered the Bahn Mi Special which is a traditional Bahn Mi and a Surf and Turf. Both came on a foot long baguette/roll that was perfectly soft and crunchy. The Bahn Mi Special was perfectly balanced with pate, cold cuts and pickled veggies. The Surf and Turf was also well balanced with a good amount of steak and shrimp. The flavor on both the steak and shrimp was spot on. The customer service was also great. In fact, I had not ordered a drink and when I was walking out to my car one of the owners brought me a free boba tea. I will definitely be coming back!

Melissa M.

Yelp
Excellent customer service! Love the good food. Bulgogi fries are a must. Great variety of bahn mi
google avatar

Nat L.

Yelp
i've never seen a restaurant offer banh mi fries before but they were so good and crispy!
google avatar

Yelp
Honest review inbound. Love the food here, price is right. Sandwiches are a good size and filling. Service is fast and every time I've ever came here the service was delivered with a smile. Food is always delicious. Real talk tho, your dining room is terrible. You're using it for a storage space. Just take a look around and ask yourself if you would eat in there. One table set right next to the janky trash can? Cmon now. Xmas tree in the dining room? Nah Fam. Get rid of the funkos. What's up with this cart in the corner and your dirty ass mop signs next to it? Nasty. Everything is great but the dining room is a disaster. Sorry, but it's the truth. Just do something about it... and you'll be fine. Suggestion - theme it out with photos from Vietnam, something related to your culture . Get rid of all that noise. Good luck!

Yelp
Great food and service here. The men who helped us were really communicative when we waited in line- they mentioned that they were working on an order and that they'd be there to take our order in a minute. I ordered a bbq pork and shrimp banh mi and I loved it. The pork was really tender and well seasoned, and the veggies in the sandwich were sliced and well placed in the sandwich. Each bite had some veggies and meat in it. While we were eating, we could smell the bread they were cooking! Everything is fresh here. Make sure to try a Vietnamese coffee here as well. It's not too sweet and not too bitter. I thought it was just right.

Charlotte L.

Yelp
Overall these sandwiches were better than other Banh Mi restaurants I have had in San Diego. Only part of the experience that was less than ideal was we had to wait around 20-30 minutes because the bread was baking. When they took our order he mentioned it though so I was not upset at all and it was worth the wait! The bread was the best I've had; it did not crumble all of the place and it was pillowy soft. I liked that it was cut in half and the ingredients were my perfect ratio. My friend said he wished there was more meat but I didn't feel they skimped because the quality of the meat and shrimp was notably better than others I have had. It was busy so we did not sit inside but I really enjoyed sitting outside in the nice weather.

Yelp
Banh Mi Blvd has authentic food that is very tasty and delicious. Fast service. There's lots of seating inside and outside. Everything is good. I tried the roasted pork belly bowl. Definitely my favorite. I was so hungry I didn't have a chance to get a picture. It came with rice and salad with toasted sesame dressing and ample amount of the roast pork.

Arson D.

Yelp
food is great, coffee is also amazing, definitely recommend pick up cause it can get busy!

Yelp
This is my first time buying banh mi sandwiches post COVID, so I don't know if the price is unusually expensive here, or whether this is standard across the board at other Vietnamese sandwich shops. I paid $9 for a 12-inch #1 special that has pate and all the cold meats. I have to admit, I was rather disappointed on multiple levels. My cousin bought some sandwiches from here in January and I remember the quality was better and there was definitely more meat. I'm not sure what happened, but here are my list of disappointments (this applies to the 3 sandwiches I purchased): 1. The cost. $9 for a Vietnamese sandwich? $29.09 including tax for the 3 sandwiches. 2. The bread was 12 inches long but very skinny. 3. The bread was not fresh, tasted stale. 4. Where's the meat?? For a $9 skinny sandwich, at least provide a little more meat to offset the cost. The shop looked like it was closed. It was a bit dark and there were piles of boxes on your right side as you entered. Service was fast, I got my sandwich within 5 minutes. That was probably the only good thing about my experience. This was my first time coming here and will be my last. I understand inflation and don't mind paying more for a sandwich, but the quality has to be there.
google avatar

Curt T.

Yelp
The mango tango smoothie was good and delicious. On the sweet side so I'd limit the amount I'd get as I'm trying to cut out my sugar intake but it's very delicious. The Vietnamese coffee was absolutely amazing. Very strong and it will totally wake you up!! I'd Definetly be back for that coffee drink alone!!!

Yelp
One of my favorite Banh Mi spots in SD. Located in Mira Mesa by the McDonalds. This small family shop has hat it ups and down however the food have never been less then exceptional. Sandwiches are great and add the Banh Mi flavor to all the Local SD cuisine "Banh Mi Blvd Fries". Spring rolls are a meal within themself. Finally, spend the extra $2 and get the Lemongrass Ribeye.
google avatar

Miguel V.

Yelp
Honestly really disappointed. Banh mi can be delicious and part of the appeal is throwing together basically anything you want in the sand which. The fillings were delicious and I got their #2 which was on the screens. However, the main issue I had with this place was the bread. It was the exact opposite of what Banh mi should've been. There was no crunch to it. It was very dense and not airy or light. I personally wouldn't even bother coming here if you're looking for good bahn mi

Eugie L.

Yelp
Excellent place. It's a mainly takeout place, but outside seating is available. We sat outside to eat in spring and it was comfortable. The two of us had two appetizers and two entrees. It was plenty of food for both of us. The spring rolls were excellent. One of the best spring rolls I have had. The crab rangoon was very creamy and fried perfectly. For trhe drunken noodle and curry we did hot (level 3). For my husband, it was right level of spicy. For me, I enjoy really spicy food, very hot (level 4) would be perfect. Service was great too. They checked if my drunken noodle was the right amount of spicy and actually redid mine to make it to the level I want. They were really fast too. We will be going back for sure!
google avatar

Anna B.

Yelp
I ordered the BBQ Pork Sandwich, a small Vietnamese iced coffee, and a lumpia (longest lumpia I've ever seen). Everything was delicious, the BBQ pork had a really good taste, the bread had the perfect crunch, and the coffee wasn't diluted at all. Definitely want to try more things on their menu. It's located in a huge shopping complex so parking is very easy.
google avatar

Cari A.

Yelp
Casual spot. No seating indoors. You order and wait for your food outside. They will bring your order out to you. I ordered a bbq pork and lemongrass ribeye taco as well as one Vietnamese lumpia. The lemongrass ribeye taco was $1 extra. Pros: -tables are provided outside -lots of free parking -hand sanitizer available at the cash register -the Vietnamese lumpia was long, slender, and delicious Cons: -n/a Other: -I overheard another customer mention that they charge extra for sauce -they offer sandwiches, drinks, tacos, wings, and more
google avatar

Andrew T.

Yelp
Bán như hạch. $9 đồng cho cái hộp nhỏ xíu vài miếng thịt nhỏ còn bao nhiêu toàn khoai tây chiên. Taco thì dỡ ẹt nhỏ xíu. Nói chung food như hạch bán như giâ tiền

Yang C.

Yelp
We don't live in this area but if we happen to be around we always try to grab a Banh Mi here. They're really good.
google avatar

Yelp
My absolute favorite place to get banh mi in Mira Mesa. They also have unique and fun menu items like banh mi tacos, banh mi burritos, and loaded fries. Every time I go I'm reminded how much I love this place :') Some of my favorites / highlights are: - Boulevard Fries (5/5!!): Basically a banh mi on top of fries. These fries are heavenly and worth all the calories!! You choose the protein (longanisa, bbq pork, chicken, lemongrass ribeye) and there's cheese, pickled carrots and daikon, and spicy mayo on top. The fries are so crispy and they're very generous the amount of toppings. I get the smaller size but they pack it with so much that it's enough to share between two people if you're also getting banh mi. I would go here just for these fries. These fries are my guilty please pls pls try them! - Banh Mi Tacos (5/5): The banh mi tacos are so yummy and a great twist on a traditional banh mi. You can choose from bbq pork, chicken, longanisa, and lemongrass ribeye. It's topped with spicy mayo and picketed carrots and daikon. I've tried the bbq pork and longanisa tacos and both are delicious. All the components work so well together- perfect balance of slightly sweet, savory, and slightly spicy from the spicy mayo. I highly recommend trying the banh mi tacos if you want something different and unique. - BBQ Pork Banh Mi (5/5): My go-to banh mi here. A delicious and very solid banh mi. The bbq pork is well seasoned, flavorful, and is slightly sweet which I love. Baguette is nice and fresh. Prices have definitely gone up with COVID, but I don't mind since the food is delicious and ingredients are high quality and fresh. Plus it's great to support your local small businesses! No indoor seating but there is outdoor seating. You order inside and wait outside where they'll bring your order to you. I like to call ahead of time so that my order is ready when I get there. Service is great and lots of parking available. If you're in the area then definitely try this place, especially the fries!
google avatar

Rohini M.

Yelp
Good for takeout or a quick bite.. They have just 2 options for vegetarians/vegans one soy meat loaf kind and other tofu . I did not like the tofu ones . buy vegetarian loaf is decent. They are stingy with sauce and cheese if requested more, too. I like to have once in a while when I am in mood for a cold sandwich. It's a pay pickup place so don't expect ambiance or service. Pay get your food leave, that's it
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
I was probably at a 4.3 but gave it a 5. We ordered 2 of each the bbq pork and the lemongrass ribeye TACOS! They were sooooo good!!!!!! So fresh. The spicy mayo was Devine and we added extra jalapeños on top! 2 was just enough for a good lunch. We also tried the lumpia - we thought it was a 7/10... good flavor but they gave us ONEEEE teeny tiny dipping sauce for 2 large lumpia - which was odd ant not shareable. We will def be back and are excited to try the fries!
google avatar

Emmett T.

Yelp
When this place first opened, the majority of their banh mi sandwiches were priced at $4 or less. They weren't the largest sandwiches, but the value was very good. Fast forward to now, and the prices have doubled with the cheapest banh mi costing $8. Even a pack of two spring rolls costs $8 which is higher than the competition. Perhaps they realized a reset was needed to their prices, and the pandemic didn't help matters. At my last visit, I chose a meatball banh mi and a couple of fresh shrimp and pork spring rolls to-go. The baguette they used was soft and fresh. The meatball was compromised of loosely bound meat flavored with a sweet sauce. The spring rolls were a good size, especially the shrimp. Desserts (e.g. che) and other buffet style items were in warmers behind the glass display at the counter. Dry goods were also sold on racks next to the service line. My overall experience at Banh Mi Blvd has leveled off to a three star rating.

Yelp
I really love their pork belly rice bowl. The service is somewhat quick, and the ambiance of the place is fairly simple. Extra seating and never too busy.
google avatar

Jagruti L.

Yelp
We were driving by and wanted to stop by. This place actually serves banh mi tacos/burrito/bowl. It is kind of a cute concept. The price for the banh mi are overpriced. We ordered avocado smoothie and Brown sugar milk tea with boba. Both drinks were not good at all. The avocado smoothie didn't taste even like avocados. The boba was soggy on the bottom and it was too sweet. The chicken savory steamed bao was difficult to eat and fell apart. I will come back and try other items.
google avatar

Guillermo M.

Yelp
Was in the area and randomly stopped in. Might of been close to opening around 10 ish I believe, ordered the #2 joes special , it has a few things in it , I can't remember all , but yo it was fire!!! All the ingredients were super fresh and tasty , and the bread was so nice and soft!!! Not like some places kinda hard and falling apart at every bite , the staff was super coo and the sandwich came mouth quick!! It looks like they have a ton of more than sandwiches and a ton of drinks and teas and what not , I also got a green iced tea witch was super good as well
google avatar

Allison H.

Yelp
Worst tasting Banh mi for $10. So overpriced! The bread isn't even crunchy, I can't even taste the pate. Not much favor. The guy/ cashier have no personality, he acts like he doesn't even want to be there. First time and last. We won't be back, don't even know how they can stay in business
google avatar

Lisa W.

Yelp
You wouldn't think this place have good sandwiches but they sure beat Cali Baguette down the street hands down. Only downside is they do talk pretty long for the sandwiches to come out though, maybe we'll call in next time. We got the special and bbq grilled pork sandwich, spring rolls and 2 egg rolls. The special was good as the Vietnamese ham were cut thick and you can taste it. The winner is the bbq pork sandwich. The pork you can taste the char. Definitely real grilled. The spring rolls were okay. It lacked vermicelli, so it was just rice paper, shrimp, veggies and thin slice of pork... tasted off then I realized they didn't have vermicelli in there. Egg rolls were better! They make it lumpia style but pack the meat in there. Delicious. A little pricey but quality. Probably be our go to Viet sandwich place now.

Yelp
This little business has been so consistent over the years, their food is amazing and I'm so happy to see that they made it through all the lockdowns. I've never cared for banh mi sandwiches because I've never had a good one, I've tried a few around sd and they were all plain with not much flavor so I thought maybe that's just how they all are but no it's not how they are because banh mi blvd does it right and all those other places did them wrong. Such flavorful meat, soft fresh bread, yummy sauce and omg the veggies, they really won me over, they must marinate them or something because no one else does. Everything just goes so well together to make the perfect banh mi. First they had the best lumpia now the best banh mi. What's next? They have so many great options too for all the picky eaters in the family.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
Banh Mi Blvd is such a great little spot in Mira Mesa. They have a lot of different banh mi sandwiches to choose from, and some other items that I'd definitely like to try next time I visit. Ordering online through ChowNow is super easy, and it helps out the staff to order ahead of time and pick up. Plus, the spot is pretty small and won't be too well-suited for dining in. I had the fried tofu banh mi this time, which was very fresh and tasty. The bread they use is super soft and yummy. I think the sandwich could have used a bit more sauce, however all-in-all it hit the spot. The iced coffee is also great - it's very strong and has a great flavor. I find it pretty hard to not get iced coffee whenever I have banh mi. If you're a fan of banh mi or are curious about places to get lunch in the area, definitely check this place out!

Yelp
The banh mi sandwiches and the blvd fries with lemongrass ribeye are my go to here! Give it a try and they will not disappoint! Always friendly staff and many other choices for good eats here, from banh mi tacos, bowls and ramen.

Yelp
If you're looking for a unique banh mi place in town, THIS IS IT! Me and my fiancé came here after a gym session because we were really craving banh mi's. The first time we came here, we got BBQ Pork banh mi and the Shredded Chicken banh mi. Both pretty good! I liked the bread and the meat. The sauce on top though?! I think they used Kewpie Mayo but it was sooooo good. I think that's what takes the cake. Now the tacos... let me tell you that this is your new banh mi taco place. It's a fusion of Filipino and Vietnamese culture it seems like because we got the longanisa taco, shredded chicken, and BBQ pork. All VERY tasty tacos. We loved it so much that we came back a second time and got mainly tacos and decided to try the BLVD Fries! I have to say, the longinasa taco was my favorite. I had to get it again. The BLVD Fries was average, fries were kinda soggy and we got lemongrass beef as the topping which maybe wasn't the best flavor to mix together in a fusion of fries. If you ever decide to get the fries, try it with longanisa instead! Next time, we'll come back for the milk teas and boba.

Yelp
I was really craving loaded fries and the Boulevard Fries here did just the trick! This Mira Mesa location was nice and filled with a variety of great restaurants; parking was really easy to find which is always a plus. There is no indoor seating but there are tables and seats outside if you want to eat nearby. I ordered the BLVD Fries with BBQ Pork, the BLVD Special Bahn Mi, and Coconut Pandan Milk Tea. The staff was really nice and delivered it to me once it was ready as I was sitting outside. I'm impressed with everything I ordered! Usually, many places have an unbalanced fry to topping ratio, and there's usually not enough toppings to eat with the fries. But this place did not skimp on the toppings; the BBQ pork was plentiful and the sauce was a delicious addition to tie together all the ingredients. The fries were not as crispy as I would have liked, but this was likely because I only ate them once I got home, which was about a 20 minute drive. The BLVD Special Bahn Mi was nice; the baguette had a crispy outer layer and soft inside and there was lots of filling. I'm not too sure what the meats inside were but it tasted good! However, next time I would try the BBQ Pork Bahn Mi instead. I also wish there was more cucumber in my bahn mi, as there was only one long slice of it in mine. I really enjoy trying new flavors, so I got the Coconut Pandan Milk Tea which seemed unique to this place and caught my eye. It was pleasantly delightful! I could really taste the coconut flavor and a hint of the pandan. I really liked the combination of flavors, and this drink was the perfect complement to the hearty fries and bahn mi. I will definitely return to try more of what's offered here if I'm craving Vietnamese food. I also want to try the Bahn Mi Tacos one day. Great experience overall!
