Where to Eat in and Around Gillette Stadium

"You don’t have to head to Dorchester to get a killer pre-game banh mi and pho. Just a ten-minute drive from Gillette, you’ll find a menu of rice bowls, pho, and some unique Vietnamese sandwiches at Banh Mi Oi. Roll up to the counter and order a classic lemongrass steak or Nashville hot chicken-style banh mi. For vegetarians, there’s an excellent five-spice tofu version of the iconic sandwich." - Tanya Edwards

Google
Banh Mi Oi lives up to their description, small and simple ... but good! Came here for take out: vegan vermicelli with tofu. Everything was great! I was too hungry, and forgot to feed the camera first. They have bar like seating and three small circular tables for indoor dining. It's a clean, zero frills kind of spot. When driving by, don't blink or you will miss it! Super glad to see Foxboro expanding their taste buds.

Google
Delicious! Great bread for the banh mi (not something you can take for granted), good amount of filling, and super tasty meat. Personally, I would have appreciated a bit more of the pickled fillings, but no complaints whatsoever. The drinks were also delicious -- nicely balanced, not too sweet, and very flavorful (though the boba were not the very freshest ... again, not a complaint, just a comment meant to be constructive). The rolls were wonderful. Thicker than I am used to in a Vietnamese restaurant, but that just allowed even more of the flavor to come through. Everything was a bit expensive, but I suppose that's become the new norm. Overall, excellent, and we'll definitely be coming back for more!

Google
Have eaten a lot of banh mis in my life but this one was really the best - so many options and very reasonably priced. I got the BBQ pork and my husband got the lemongrass steak. We also split a brisket pho. Great service. Will definitely return!

My family and I stopped by Bánh Mì Ơi to try it out for the first time. We usually have to drive a good distance for authentic Vietnamese food, so finding this hidden gem that was closer to us was great! As we got there, the staff greeted us and answered any questions we had regarding the menu. They serve bánh mì, drinks, rice bowls, and soup noodles. The place is very cute with a modern aesthetic. I love the decor that showcases the Vietnamese culture. The tables are clean, yet a bit sticky but that wasn’t a big issue for us. The food quality and customer service won us all over. I got the lemongrass steak rice bowl and the spicy Nashville chicken bánh mi. The lemongrass steak rice bowl was a good portion for dine-in. It was served with lettuce, cucumber, pickled vegetables, and a side of nước mắm (Vietnamese fish sauce). The spicy Nashville chicken bánh mì was delicious. One of the best chicken sandwiches i’ve ever had. The chicken was seasoned perfectly with a spicy kick to it. It was paired well with the banh mi baguette and toppings, better than I had imagined. It was extremely flavorful. 10/10, I would get this again. I wish they had a more mild version of this sandwich because my spice tolerance is low, but it is still one of my favorite menu items! For a drink, we got the cafe sua da (Vietnamese condensed milk coffee). It was great! Tasted like expected and had a perfect ratio of sweetness and coffee flavor. This place was great! Prices range from $10-15 depending on what you get; it is a bit pricey but this is a small business, and the food is worth it. I would love to come here again and try the rest of the menu!

Banh Mi Foxboro is amazing! The food is super authentic and full of flavor — just like home. I tried the banh mi and pho, and both were absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly, quick, and made the whole experience even better. Great vibes, great service. Definitely a go-to spot for Vietnamese food!

Google
The owner is nice, However, We waited for 40 mins for the pho, and was told they were heating the broth. When the pho came out, it was just warm, all three people have warm broth. They seem like nice people, But the pho is not. the broth is plain, the noodle felt like has been in the broth forever. We had a quiet time there, again the owner seems nice and the service is good, But after 40 mins waiting, and warm broth, not coming back.

Wow! So so good! I was pleasantly surprised after eating a meal here. I loved it. Fresh and full of flavor. I ate in and although not a lot of seating it was comfortable. The server was nice and courteous. I can not wait to go back.

Google
This place is sort of hidden just off the main drag in Foxborough. Quaint and very cozy little place. Be careful you dont miss it. Small parking lot adjacent. I drove 50 minutes to get here after reading all the reviews. Walk up a few stairs on the outside, then straight ahead. Walk into a small corridor, then 1st door to right. Good size menu. I drove to get the bahn mi. Had the pork, comes with a good amount of pickled veggies, cucumber, cilantro, and their dressing on a very fresh soft but crunchy baguette. The flavor was amazing and had no fat on the pork. Staff were friendly, nice and clean and new and inticing, although extremely tight space, but well thought out. I also got the thai tea to go. Loved the presentation. I got mine to go as I was their last customer and was en route elsewhere. Didn't take too long a wait, but ling enough to know it was being made fresh. Well done ...you gotta go. When your finished the town has a terrific historic center within afew feet. Check it out and enjoy. I highly recommend

Good food and great service. My girl finished two basketball games and we came here for a quick much and she like it. The BBQ sub is great choice

Yelp
For Foxboro, I am just glad to see another Asian establishment. Good food options in Foxboro is rare enough so it's nice to have this little edition on work days It is a small shop that is cute. Maybe 3 2-seater tables with a few bar seats. Disappointed in their menu a bit as it's mostly catered to the demographic in the area but understandable. The pho options are not enticing but decent banh mi options. Originally wanted to try cold cut but the steak sounded good. It was a decent size for 1 per and good amount of steak. I definitely enjoyed it. Got a side of spring rolls as well and while I enjoyed it.. it didn't hit the spot. Couldn't really taste the pork belly or even see the pork belly and only 1 shrimp :( very skimpy on the protein and was mostly lettuce Overall.. it's good for Foxboro but it's definitely pricey. In general $9-$13 for banh mi is insane. Do I think it's worth the price? Probably not. Will I come back? If I forget lunch one day and wanted some banh mi

Yelp
This is one of those rare occasions where I cannot agree with the Yelp community. I get it, the shop is nice, clean, and spacious. The staff is accommodating and friendly. But the food just does not measure up. I got the spicy chicken banh mi ... something that I normally love. And it was just too spicy to enjoy. And I have been all over the world, including Chongching in China where they specialize is hot and spicy foods. But this sandwich was unnecessarily hot. My suggestion is to dial it back just a bit and you would have a winner.

Yelp
Great coffee and banh mi spot! LOCATION: Located in the downtown area, Banh Mi Oi is easy to spot with a small lot. The place itself is pretty small with a few tables for diners. Otherwise it's mostly a grab and go spot. DRINKS: There are a few options from coffee and tea. I tried their lavender latte which was amazing - lots of great lavender taste. FOOD: While they offer noodles, apps, and sandwiches, we ended up ordering the banh mis! The cold cut was delicious and very stuffed. My partner ordered the lemongrass steak and liked it! SERVICE: Very friendly and quick service!

Yelp
I've eaten at their Waltham location but I was in the Foxborough area (10 minutes away from the Wrentham Premium Outlets). I got the usual, the cold cut combo sandwich and the nashville hot chicken. We also got 3 bowls of their Pho. Food is good, place is clean and staff were friendly. There are a few tables for you to dine in, definitely not as big as their Waltham location. Plenty of free off street parking in the lot just behind the restaurant.

Yelp
Stopped in yesterday at lunchtime and as I promised myself this time I got the beef Pho. It was very good quality beef not fatty or chewy. The flavor was very mild so I added both hot sauce and the Hoisin type. Loved the onions in the broth. This was a satisfying meal; I even left some broth as I was full. My issue last time was that eat in was still served like take out with bagged basil and sprouts, plastic spoon and tiny sauce containers. The girl at the counter was nice and explained that they had taken some reviews to heart and were implementing changes! Very cool. Now they have a great soup spoon and provide ample hot and sweet sauces and the sprouts are on a plate. See new picture. Felt more normal. I'll be back.

Yelp
Staying in the area and kids wanted noodles for dinner. We found this place online so decided to check this place out. More of a takeout spot but they do have three little tables and bar seating for 4-5 people. We ordered a bit of everything: - classic banh mi - well done brisket pho - chicken pho - bbq pork vermicelli - lavender ice Vietnamese coffee - butterfly pea sparkling lemonade Surprisingly for a Vietnamese restaurant, it was a bit slow for the food to come out but they also had a steady stream of takeout orders coming in. The food was delicious and portions are smaller than the normal pho restaurant (it's more like food hall pricing and portions). It worked out for us since we didn't want to have to bring leftovers back. The little ones loved it as well!

Yelp
Wow, that Nashville Hot is a game changer! It doesn't replace Hot chicken from Nashville by any means but boy does it make for a tasty sandwich! Wanted some banh mis without having to drive into the Boston area and this place popped up! We took the drive and it was so worth it! The place from the outside looks like it used to be an old doctors office or something of the sort - looks like a house basically. I think there's a parking lot behind the restaurant but we found a spot right across the street. The place is def more of a takeout spot but there are 3 small tables with chairs as well as some counter seating. We got in and ordered a plethora of dishes - fresh rolls, crispy rolls, crispy fried fish, Nashville hot chicken banh mi, chicken pho and 2 drinks (Vietnamese coffee and Blood Moon - Lychee Berries refresher). We enjoyed everything - maybe I wouldn't order the crispy fish again as is but wouldn't mind trying to see how it would be in a banh mi. Chicken pho had a nice flavorful broth chock full of chicken pieces and comes with a nice little pouch of aromatics. The only issue with the fresh rolls were that the wrapper stuck to the paper plate and so it peeled off some of the paper with it, making parts of the wrapper inedible but the peanut sauce was delicious! But the star was that dang hot chicken banh mi. The flavors worked so well with the toasty French baguette, pickled veggies and fresh herbs. We liked it so much we ordered another one to go along with a classic banh mi and a grilled pork banh mi. My go to for banh mis is usually the classic cold cut one but there was something lacking from what I typically would enjoy. Not bad but not great - it was our least favorite of the 3 we sampled. Def worth the drive back to try other options! Service was super friendly and quick. Everyone was full of smiles and made our dine in experience super enjoyable. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Great food and nice atmosphere. Thai tea was on point and prices are cheaper in the restaurant compared to the online menu we viewed.

Yelp
Pulling up to Banh Mi, the building is quite unassuming. It's also easy to miss the entry door because a second door there actually is for the apartment above the restaurant. Heading in, it's a bit odd that there is an inviting and cute little seating and bar top area, yet there's a sign saying customers cannot use the bathroom. This would make sense for a takeout only place, but for a place that has a little dine in look and feel one would think a customer could relieve themselves if necessary. All this being said, it's really all about the food right?! I tried the crispy shrimps appetizer. They were good albeit devoid of seasoning. But never fear, the spicy mustard sauce was a nice complement and made the shrimps delicious. I also tried the banh mi fried fish sandwich. In a word I would call the sandwich complicated. It had so many competing flavors. One bite greeted me with hot peppers and the next a sweet sauce. One bite introduced savory cucumbers, and the next a more non assuming carrot. All things considered, I must say I enjoyed the complex sandwich. Somehow all the competing flavor experiences worked. I might just try it again!

Yelp
I stopped in to grab a sandwich as I was passing through town and was happy to have found this cute restaurant. I love the decor, and the staff is friendly. I got a crispy shrimp bahn mi and was disappointed to do that the shrimp were fried with their tails on, which meant I had to take them out of my sandwich and remove their tails in order to eat them. Otherwise, the flavors were delicious and my boba tea was great.

Yelp
Good Vietnamese food in suburban area desperately in need of Asian food variety. Small place on side street, only 3 tables and a counter. Stopped in for early dinner. Two lemongrass beef banh mi sandwiches - good, but bread not crispy, and very limited beef, otherwise flavors were there. Fried fish appetizer was okay, nothing special. A vermicelli w egg roll dish that was fresh and egg roll pieces hot and crispy. Three drinks - Vietnamese cold coffee, a lychee/berry and a passion fruit/guava - the drinks were great. We also ordered a banh mi w JIT chicken that was overly spicy to the point of being inedible and not worth the effort. Young woman at counter was helpful and offered suggestions. Place is worth visiting and we will have it in our list of local places when needing Vietnamese food. Beef pho was sold out, which is a good sign.

Yelp
Being Vietnamese, I can attest to the authenticity and flavor of the food here at Banh Mi Oi. The food is full of flavor and is absolutely delicious. I was truly excited to have quality Vietnamese food nearby since moving to the area from Boston, where Vietnamese food is abundant. The staff are very friendly and the service is quick. The restaurant is small and has an interesting layout, but it works if you're just staying for a quick eat and then leaving. We've tried several Banh Mis including the original cold cut, the bbq pork, and the hot chicken. The baguette is heavenly and incredibly flaky/crispy. We've also tried the bbq pork vermicelli dish and the chicken rice bowl-- both very tasty and full of flavor. We tried the shrimp salad and a couple of appetizers including the spring rolls and egg rolls. Overall, we give this restaurant 4 stars for their amazing food and friendly staff. The high prices and small portion sizes are what kept us from giving this restaurant a 5 star rating. $10 for a Banh Mi and $14 for a small bowl of pho is on the pricey side, especially when compared to any Vietnamese restaurant you find in Chinatown or Dorchester.
google avatar

Paula B.

Yelp
Super nice and friendly service and my husband loved the pho and it was quite a lot for 13.50$ but I had a mixed green salad with crispy fish for 14$ and it was fairly small, the fish portion was good but there were pieces of really really rotten greens in there to the point that it was on the good lettuce too and that made it taste gross. The sauce was yummy but the rot made me sad. The interior of the restaurant is small and quaint and is ok to sit there but I don't eat noodles and rice and I will never order the salad again so I guess I won't visit often.

Yelp
I'm rounding off a 4.5 to give it 5 stars. On two different occasions we had the Lemongrass Steak Salad, BBQ Chicken with Rice and a Banh Mi Classic Cold Cuts sandwich. I thought prices were quite reasonable for what you got, the ingredients were fresh and good and quality was good as well. Portions were reasonably generous. I especially liked my Banhi Mi sandwich. Ingredients were good and tasty and the baguette was nice and crispy on the outside and soft and fresh on the inside. Next time add a little more cilantro.

Elaine F.

Yelp
This is a very small cafe with 3 tables and some counter seats, but it has some BIG flavor. The bahn mi's are delicious. I've tried the Hot Chicken and the Cold Cuts. The Blood Moon drink and Ube coffee are also great!
google avatar

Cynthia C.

Yelp
Some little place but fantastic food and great service. We are in but I imagine they do mostly takeout due to size. Highly recommend!
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
I had the Nashville hot chicken which was amazing! Cooked perfectly. The pho was good but the chicken was overcooked which was a bummer. Will try again!
google avatar

Nick F.

Yelp
New to the neighborhood and a great addition also. Great food friendly service I recommend 100%. I got the chicken sandwich several times ! It's a hit!
google avatar

Rob F.

Yelp
I had pho, and it didn't smell like pho. No star anise or lemongrass.. It was very sour, and very salty. It tasted like beef broth, and got saltier the closer you got to the end. The banh mi was a dry roll with a slice of cucumber, a couple carrot strands and about 2 ounces of cold flavorless beef, and a few sliced jalapenos... I didn't notice the filling and felt like I was eating a dry roll. I was very disappointed after reading someone's review raving about how good the sandwich was. I had the saltiest bowl of soup and an unimpressive sandwich for $25. I put up pictures. Take a good look at the $11 sandwich.

Yelp
Really fresh, enjoyable food and Vietnamese tea/coffee. Tucked into the side street near Gunther Tootie's and CVS, Banh Mi Oi is a small place with takeout and three tables. Nicely done decor and friendly folks. We got banh mi sandwiches (a French baguette so fresh that explodes when you bite into it, marinated meat and veggies, and herbs), fresh rolls (shrimp, pork, mint leaves, vermicelli noodles), fried crispy rolls (very fresh tasting). We came on day 7 after they opened, and they said that the pho soup would be coming that weekend - we can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Digby C.

Yelp
I've been SO missing bánh mì since I stopped working downtown, but help has arrived! We had the chicken and pork sandwiches, as well as the fresh rolls and ube milk tea, and they were all fantastic. The bread is a perfect sandwich baguette, crispy and fresh, and the fresh rolls were minty and delightful. There are three tables plus barstools/rail, so it's a little tight for sit-down, but we did find a table Saturday at noon, and we saw a lot of to-go orders going out the door. Definitely happy this place is here.
google avatar

Sarah R.

Yelp
Delish! I had the veg pho and it was flavorful and filling. We ate there (3 tables of 2) and it was very clean. The staff was very friendly. I look forward to trying the bahn mi soon!

Greg M.

Yelp
Food is very underrated. Jimmy shops for fine ingredients and he and also Deb cook up fine food in a very chill atmosphere. Great Music mostly Sundays and some Saturdays.
google avatar

Crystal Y.

Yelp
So so so so good!! I tried the iced Vietnamese coffee and it's the best I've had so far. It's strong but sweet and VERY smooth. I also got the lemongrass steak and it was so juicy and flavorful. They're very friendly and awesome with flavor!!
google avatar

Angela G.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing. I got the fried shrimp banh mi, pho with brisket with sprink rolls. It was the most delicious food. If I could rate this more than 5 stars, I would.
google avatar

Kat T.

Yelp
BBQ Banh Mi was good in portion; however, they get carried away with the sauce. Eat with caution. One bite can decimate your favorite shirt. Lol. We also got Vietnamese coffee, and that was really good!! Nice and strong!!
google avatar

Aslam M.

Yelp
Simple limited menu with part self service. Food was decent. Small cost seating. The pwner was polite and nice.

John L.

Yelp
The best Banh Mi sandwich by far in my search. I have been checking out some other restaurants and they beat them all! The bbq pork sandwich is incredible. The Louisiana chicken is great. Great staff and they have John Lennon & Yoko Ono's album "Double Fantasy" on display. Neat!
google avatar

Thu N.

Yelp
I'm not a sandwich expert or anything, but I know a good one when I taste it. And let me tell you, folks, this unassuming little Vietnamese banh mi shop is the real deal. These sandwiches are so good. Seriously, someone call the sandwich police, because this place is committing crimes against my taste buds. And don't even get me started on the prices - they're so reasonable, it's almost like they're trying to tempt me into eating there every day. If you're looking for a sandwich that will change your life, then look no further. Trust me, you won't be disappointed .
google avatar

Clinton L.

Yelp
Oh my this place is good. We had the Banh Mi sandwiches. The bread was toasted to perfection and the flavors were umami perfection. We'll go back to try more items.

Larry K.

Yelp
Love the classic cold cut Bahn Mi here. The bread has got the most perfect, crusty exterior. Better than some of the places I've been to in Quincy/Boston. It's a good size sandwich too.

Yelp
Incredible place. https://www.thesunchronicle.com/foxboro_reporter/news/local_news/new-vietnamese-restaurant-opens-in-foxboro/article_cd292110-f6d0-5eda-9edc-47de2a8b1c6f.html

Yelp
Very authentic Vietnamese place new to Foxboro. This is their third location. Classic Banh Mi and Vietnamese coffee pictured. Can't wait to try everything. Pho looks ridiculous.

Yelp
I've been looking for a place that serves a Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich since visiting Nashville last year. I went with the baguette roll. While ordering online I was thinking it was a little pricey, but after picking it up and unwrapping it I understood why. It was stuffed to the brim, large enough for 2 people. I'll be back. Next time I'll try the lemongrass steak sandwich.

Mich E.

Yelp
I can't get enough of this place. The food is delicious, reasonably priced imo, and the staff is super friendly. My personal favorites are the Five Spice Tofu Vermicelli Bowl and the BBQ Chicken Banh Mi.

Ex-chef G.

Yelp
The banh Mi cold cut sandwich is delicious! Fresh shrimp spring rolls w/peanut sauce are also great! I need to try their pho sometime soon. Take out orders are quick and convenient.

Alexandria C.

Yelp
The place is very small. The parking lot was filled, you have to park behind the building. The tables were sticky. The pho was okay, the portions are little. They give you the condiments in a little baggie. The chicken sandwich we had was very crunchy and hardly any chicken if that makes sense. The fresh roll with peanut sauce was good. Sadly we won't be coming back

John C.

Yelp
Really authentic and tasty Vietnamese food. The bread is perfect and the spices and sauces they use are spot on.

Melissa C.

Yelp
Ambiance is relaxing with plants and warm woods. Service is fast and friendly. Food is thoughtfully prepared, authentic, and mouth-watering. We got the lemongrass steak and sautéed prawn banh mi sandwiches. Baguette was crusty & light, pickled veggies added the perfect pop of flavor & crunch while the aioli was silky on the bread - just the right amount. Fresh cilantro and jalapeños topped both sandwiches with a just touch of herbs and heat. Their special house sauce is so delicious - a little umami, a little sweet, perfectly brings it all together. All housemade elements make these banh mi the bomb! Lemongrass steak was tender and so happy they got the balance on point (other places way overpower with Lemongrass). Sautéed prawns were gently seared, plump and loving the special sauce! We felt content and cared for as if a loving relative packed us lunch and sent us off for the day. This was our first time here (not the first time having Vietnamese cuisine). We will be going back to try the rest of the menu!

Yelp
Banh Mi Oi is a tricky place to review. Is it the best Vietnamese food ever? No. But is it the best Vietnamese food - and maybe even the best food of any kind - in Foxboro? Yes. So even though I have some quibbles, as a semi-regular customer I am extremely appreciative of this place and I hope it thrives. I've tried most of the menu. Banh mi is very good, better than most, with consistently fresh and tasty ingredients. They're generously sized, but they'd better be, considering the jumbo price. I don't begrudge them charging what they need to charge but still- it wasn't that long ago that you could get good banh mi for like $5. Not in Foxboro of course. So I pay up for it, but with a slight pang of anger at the economics that led us to the days of the $15 banh mi. The beef pho is also a little small for the price and a little sweet for my taste but there's no denying it's a good meal by 2024 standards. Not to be "that guy" considering I mean for this to be a positive review but there's substantially better pho in Randolph which isn't that far. Vermicelli may be the sleeper hit of the menu- and the most filling. The noodles are a little thicker than I expect in vermicelli (same for pho) but they're good so why be a stickler? They've put some solid effort into the decor but it's still not the most comfortable environment for dining in - I prefer takeout here. Bottom line: I like it and I go fairly often, with a certain understanding that things could be different, but this is what it is: a solid restaurant in a Boston suburb in 2024, not NYC or LA or Dorchester twenty years ago.

Chanel C.

Yelp
Took the ride out here from Rhode Island to give this place a try. The reviews are all great so I felt confident I'd enjoy the food. Ordered the chicken pho it was bland, didn't taste like the authentic pho I'm used to. There was no chili oil or soy sauce to add to it, which was fine if the broth had flavor on its own...it didn't. Also ordered fried shrimp, 90% batter barely any shrimp. Also ordered fried crispy rolls. Total $33 which Is a little over priced in my opinion. The shrimp and rolls were super small and there was barely any chicken in the small bowl of pho. It's a nice little place the inside is small, definitely a takeout spot. The cashier was pleasant. Will I be back? Probably not :(

Yelp
Very fresh and testy sandwiches love them , friendly employs very good spot for lunch or breakfast

Yelp
Great service in this small restaurant. The menu here is expensive, but the food was hot, fresh, and delicious. We don't often find this style of food so far south of Boston. We had 2 spicy chicken sandwiches. The sandwiches were a good size and spicy, but also super sweet. I found it hard to finish the second half. The addition of pickled veggies was a hit for us and added vibrancy to the sandwich. One of us had the Pho, which was small, but also tasty. The ambiance in the restaurant is peaceful and cozy. We were happy to support this small business and will stop by again if our travels bring us to Foxboro again on a Saturday afternoon.

MyAsia A.

Yelp
The service is amazing and the pho is delicious! Best place in Foxborough to get Pho!
google avatar

Yelp
I enjoyed the food and the decorations I want to eat here again someday!!! And the service was great
google avatar

Kate D.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time and we were very pleased! The crispy rolls, lemon grass steak and bbq pork bahn mi were delicious! The Nashville style hot chicken also seemed delicious but it was extremely spicy -- more than we expected, we couldn't finish it. But if you like really hot stuff, I would recommend. The service was quick and friendly. And it's a cute little shop. Will definitely be going back!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food service and decor was cute. Very small though so try to call them in advance for large groups.

Whatever I order from here, I love. Tasty, unusual, yummy, light, etc. When I have visitors we get lunch from here. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Loved their brisket Pho! Look forward to trying other options on their menu. They were super friendly, and the ambiance was nice. It's more of a take out but there are a couple of tables, and bar-style eating area. I would def eat there because of the ambiance. They did a really good job to make it feel cozy!
