I am always looking for a good Banh Mi sandwich. I was up in Austin picking up my car from the dealership and getting hungry when I came across this restaurant, Banh Mi Oven, while on the way to H-Mart. The pictures really don't do it justice. The place is actually pretty spacious and Airy and even has a patio for eating outside. The menu as you can see is pretty extensive for a specialty house like this. I ordered the regular cold cuts combo Banh Mi an added pork belly for a bit of a crunch. I've eaten this type of Sandwich all over the world and this was definitely one of the best. It had all the right meats, vegetables, pate, mayo, jalapenos Etc in a nice crusty yet soft on the inside roll. Truthfully, this was the best Vietnamese Banh Mi I have had in Texas and for that matter anywhere. I watched it all down with a Vietnamese iced coffee which was equally fantastic. If you are in Austin for any reason, including going to H mart, you got to try this place. You won't be disappointed. By the way the owner and his assistant were really friendly and very quick with the order.

Bánh mì Oven is a fantastic spot for lunch, offering a delightful selection of authentic Banh mi and bubble tea. We visited for lunch and ordered a pork belly Banh mi and a vegetarian char siu tofu Banh mi, accompanied by two winter melon bobas and Brussels sprouts as appetizers. Their boba tea menu boasts a variety of options made with real teas, not syrup. The service was exceptional, with staff that was incredibly helpful and friendly. The ambiance is inviting, with a clean and well-maintained space, soft music playing in the background. I highly recommend Bánh mì Oven to anyone seeking a taste of bánh mì and bubble tea.

Really good sandwiches, especially for vegetarians/vegans. The stringed tofu one was very flavorful. The staff was very nice too. The bread was toasted, it tasted much better than subway and jersey Mike's.

Google
I found my new favorite Banh Mi place in Austin- Banh Mi Oven- right by iFly in N Austin!! The team is friendly and know what they are doing in the kitchen. The bread is crispy and fresh. The beef is beautifully marinated with a hint of lemongrass. The chef recommended adding avocado which I’ve not had with a Banh Mi but it was delicious!! Also, the coconut drink was just what I was craving. I’ll be back. Thanks guys.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Banh Mi Oven, and it was an outstanding experience. I tried the pork belly with egg, and it was absolutely delicious. Everything is made in-house and they even make their pate from scratch. Had a sample and it was reallly yummy. The quality and care put into their food really shine through. The staff was fantastic, especially Will, who was a delight to speak with. The atmosphere was welcoming, and I felt right at home. I’m eagerly anticipating the grand opening so I can try their House Special Banh Mi. The sandwich was so good that I completely forgot to take a picture – or maybe I was just too hungry to remember! Banh Mi Oven is a gem in the local food scene, and I highly recommend giving it a try. I look forward to coming back soon!

Google
Tried this place due to my parent’s recommendation! When you go in it’s like a cafe vibe with seating a couple of tables to chill at while you wait for your food. We got vermicelli and the Bhan Mi w/ egg and charsiu pork. Both were really delicious and fulfilling. Definitely good for on the go and the classic milk tea was very delicious as well. The guy who gave us our cod was super friendly. They’re fairly new still and worth a try!

I came here for the labubu pop up. Was a short line when we got there so we went inside to get banh mi and drinks. I asked the owner/manger if there was a line, he replied no and that inside was for paying customers and once the people came with the labubu came if we were there we can buy. So we ate and waited 2 hours inside with our 2 toddlers. Shortly 2 more people came in side after and waited inside also. Then an argument happened, definitely miscommunication. We did not intend to cut anyone waiting in line *and we did wait until after they went first (about 10 people) we did see how many people were in front of us when we got there, so we still waited our turn. But a few others did not care and got their items first. All in all the banh mi was good and the pink paradise drink was very good. But be prepared next time to wait at least 2 or more hours for labubu.

Yelp
All I can say is AMAZING ! Walked in today for the first time, I right away was greeted by Will who had the most welcoming presence. I definitely hadn't felt that in other places in a very long time. He explained every aspect of their menu to me which was such a relief given that there's so much to choose from. He truly gives the best advice on what certain items will taste like and made the BEST recommendation I've ever received!! Usually when given a recommendation it's not all that but he recommended his favorite which was the Pork Belly. OMG MY TASTE BUDS WERE IN LOVE. An order of the Bánh Mì Sandwich comfortably feeds two people. I was happily filled with just one half. To my surprise the sandwich was wrapped in two separate wraps, which was perfect for me since I got full with one half. I also ordered their Watermelon Tea, Will was so kind to tell me how it will taste and was spot on! I'm not a huge sweet tooth so this bitter tea was absolutely to my liking ! Thank you so much Will for the warm welcome and the amazing recommendation! I will be bringing my wife back tomorrow !! Also I had questions about a particular table that was set up with the cutest Labubus and will definitely try to attend the event ! Thank you Bánh Mì for the outstanding customer service and the best Vietnamese food I've ever had in Texas !

Yelp
I was stuck at the Kia dealership with an infinite wait time so I looked up lunch nearby. This place was walking distance and for a Viet food fanatic, I couldn't have been happier. All I can say is WOW. I asked Will, for some help on what to get. He advised me on a few items. Said their cold cuts are awesome, the traditional Banh Mi. His favorite is the pork belly, which I'll get next time I come back but I landed on the grilled beef and it blew me away. I am still sitting here and considering going back for seconds. The bread was perfectly toasted and fresh. They know how to ratio their meat to veggies and included some thinly sliced jalapeños for the perfect pop of crunch and heat. The meat is also seasoned in their homemade barbecue sauce. Chefs kiss. I am topping it off with one of the best Viet iced coffees I've ever had. Will was passionate in describing everything I literally thought he was the owner. Thanks for the recommendations! I love when a new spot pops up like this and their love and care shine through. Go get you some Banh Mi Oven!!!

Yelp
I saw someone posting about this place a couple weeks ago. Didn't look up where it was located. One day I find myself down on 183 and driving by. I said to myself, next time I'm down in this area, I gotta stop in. Today I happened to be down here again, and stopped in. It's a small center right next to iFLY. There used to be an Amy's ice cream, it's now the Soup Peddler, which is on my list too. And there is a barber shop too and Shaman modifications. Parking is fanatic. Lots of spaces. And you could park on the street which is free parking. There is a wheelchair ramp, if you need. You walk in, it's a small quaint area. Ordering is on the right, and the dining area, on the left. Menus hang from a short wall. You place your order with the cashier. If you're new, like me, he can recommend something for you. Which he kindly did for me. I'm pretty easy going. Not a lot of foods I'm dead against. I ordered the beef sandwich which comes on a soft baguette. It's a 10 inch sandwich, and I bought a bottled soda. They only have 2 small tables with 2 chairs at each table. But they have a cute small area with 2 couches and a chair. I made myself right at home on the couch, pulled the round "coffee" table like towards me. Took my shoes off, crossed my legs on the couch and like I said, made myself at home. I was totally chill. The young man that took my order, also brought my order out to me. Said enjoy. My sandwich was cut in half, and wrapped separately. The baguette is soft and warmed. Lot of meat on it. A lot of cilantro too. I love it. Has a great taste sweet and maybe a little spice. Spice like flavor, not heat. Really enjoyed the sandwich. A few minutes later the young gentleman came by and offered me a mango tea. Which I thought was really nice. He said they are promoting their new teas. The mango tea comes in a 16oz. (maybe) sized plastic cup with a Texas logo on it. Also comes with a fat straw too! The tea is sweet, and refreshing. Oh ya, the music playing was jamming. I really was chilling out. Felt like I was at a close friends house. Good vibe. Will totally come back here when I'm in the area again. Good luck guys! Hope your soft opening is a huge success. (High five) emoji here

Yelp
I admit I did get sticker shock when I looked at the price of a banh mi. It is on the pricier side from $11-$13. I got the grilled pork banh mi and was pleasantly surprised. The filling to bread ratio was decent; it was filled with lots of pickled veggies and a good amount of pork. The pork itself didn't taste grilled and there was no smokiness to it, but it was heavily marinated so it still had good flavor. The restaurant itself is cute and spacious. Not much table seating, but there are some couches in the back. They've got a pretty wide variety of offerings so I'll be back to try more.

Yelp
I give my experience 3.5 but rounding to 4 for fresh food and fast service. The bread was the best I've had. The food grilled pork (Thit nuong) was good but they were VERY skimpy with the meat throughout (see pic) so it was hard to get the actual flavor. The pork belly and egg tasted like tamago. It was sweet and the egg overpowered the pork belly so I did not enjoy this one. The bacon cheese fries had liquid cheese on them (not queso). The best way to describe it is the cheese in a cauldron at Fuddruckers. The kind of cheese sauce that will never harden and always stay liquidy. Not too much bacon but they were fine. They were fresh. The bread was great so I think I'd try one more time and see if the skimpy meat filling was a fluke or their standard. Their prices are steep for a banh mi so I expect them to fill them with an appropriate amount.

Yelp
Banh mi oven is pretty expensive as far as banh mis go for. But it's filling and it's delicious, so it's not the worst scenario. I also love how theres such a big variety of choices on the menu. But I wish they had some seating inside the restaurant.

Yelp
Visited banh mi oven over the weekend and got the egg and pork bánh mì for $13. Their sandwiches come with pickled carrots and radish, cilantro, jalapeño, and mayo. Ordered online and it was quick and easy to pick up. They have a nice area for dine in as well. They cut the sandwich in half and package it for you. I really enjoy the sandwich. The meat was tender, although could use a bit more char on the meat. Didn't quite taste like they were grilled. Could use a little bit more pickled veggies as well. I also prefer my banh mi bread a little bit more crunchy on the outside. This bread was pretty soft all around. I loved the fluffy egg, it was well cooked. A little bit on the pricier side but I would order this again. They also have some specials like Bo kho. They have a good sized parking lot.

Yelp
Bahn mi is a usually a very adorable dish that uses French bread and a few simple ingredients. However, for $16 I don't think this bahn mi was out of this world. We also tried their drinks and the boba pearls did not taste authentic which is a bummer because the drinks themselves were actually really good. It was a cute little place with a few seats and the service was good but I do feel that I paid way too much for what I got.

The bread isn't too hard it has the perfect softness/crunch and the vegetables are so fresh and the meat is so so good and flavorful!! Yelp
We had the chicken avocado sandwich and the soup. Both were good. Was disappointed that soup did not have more than carrots and beef in it. My husband enjoyed his sandwich. This place is a little pricey, but the food was tasty.

Euke H.

Yelp
Food was very good, I just wish their serving time was a bit faster. I was waiting for two Bahn MI for 25 minutes, definitely order ahead.

Yelp
Honestly, I've been looking for a banh mi sandwich this good for a long time. And they packaged my sandwich into separately wrapped halves!!! Loved this place. The chicken/egg sandwich had amazingly fresh veggies, cilantro and incredible flavor!!! So excited they are here.

Yelp
Amazing food and quick service at fair prices. The interior is clean, modern, and cozy

Yelp
The food was fantastic! The ingredients tasted very fresh, I had the pork belly with cucumber, pickled carrots, and cilantro. I am very happy with my desicion and will probably do something similar in the future. The cashier was very kind and helpful with deciding what to choose. The restrooms were very clean and the sitting area was large with comfortable chairs.(plus, a large sofa)

Yelp
Super friendly ambiance and delicious food! I've been on the hunt for a good chicken Banh mi in Austin and today is the day I finally found it. Can't wait to go back and try the other delicious items on the menu like their spring rolls!
