"Bánh mì, phở, vermicelli, Vietnamese coffee, and bubble tea—it’s what a good portion of the city lives off of. And now that fuel is in Fishtown at Banh Mi Spot. There are a few tables inside, but they also have a window counter set up so you can grab an order of salted caramel and foam coffee, summer rolls, and a lemongrass chicken bánh mì to go." - candis mclean, alison kessler

Came here for lunch with my friend, and I'm so glad she suggested Banh mi spot! I've been wanting to go but never found time. So glad I made it here and will def be back with my husband. The menu is a nice mix of all the staples ! My vermicelli bowl was to die for. Everything tasted fresh. Meat was tender and seasoned to perfection. The crispy tofu was one of my favorites out of all the other places I've had this kind of dish. Highly recommend if you're a tofu lover! I got a matcha latte as it was a bit chilly today, and it was delish- comparable to other small owned cafes. Next time, I'll definitely try their milk teas or even the Viet coffee! Do yourself a favor and check this spot out!

If you’re on the hunt for a casual Vietnamese spot in Philly that delivers big flavor without the fuss, Banh Mi Spot is your new go-to. With a laid-back vibe and hospitality as warm as a bowl of pho, this recently opened gem is serving up serious comfort in every bite. We rolled in for a quick lunch and left plotting our next visit. First up: the Ribeye Banh Mi - a crusty, airy baguette packed with tender, flavor-packed ribeye and pickled veggies. It’s the kind of sandwich that makes you wonder why you ever settled for anything less. The Spring Rolls were crisp and golden, with a satisfying crunch and a classic fish sauce that tied it all together. Sweet Potato Fries was anything unexpected find on the menu, but they were a crispy, salty-sweet, and addictive surprise that absolutely earned their spot at the table. The Grilled Pork Vermicelli and Grilled Beef Vermicelli were both stellar - loaded with bold, balanced flavor. But the star of the show? The Fish Stew Vermicelli. Rich, aromatic, and perfectly spiced, it's a masterclass in Vietnamese comfort food. If you only order one thing, let it be this fish. To wash it all down, the Lychee Passionfruit Refresher was exactly that - bright and perfectly sweet without being cloying. It’s the sip you didn’t know you needed and, as the name implies, extremely refreshing. Overall, whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a chill afternoon, Banh Mi Spot nails that hard-to-find combo of fast, flavorful, and affordable. With daily specials worth exploring and a menu that hits all the high notes, this place has quickly earned its way into my Philly favorites. From baguettes to broth, you simply can’t go wrong.

I wanted to try a different type of style banh mi and i received it! Usually I’ve seen bo ne served on a hot skillet, but never thought of it to be combined altogether! It was definitely easier and less messy. They also had a variety of rice plates to choose from. I chose their rice plate with stewed pork belly and it was delicious as well. It was tender and with the pickled veggies.. 10/10!!!! Atmosphere was very uplifting as well

Google
great experience. I will definitely return. I had the shrimp summer rolls, Vietnamese ice coffee. my friend ordered gripped fish stew, which she loved.

Google
A little cute store that also offers outdoor seating. We were ordering two hoggies ( lemongrass and Bo Ne) to go. The bread itself is not 100% bread since it is quite dense, not hollow like other Vietnamese bread but still pretty crispy. The meat is a bit dry. We got the rose latte and lychee mint - both look nice but a bit too sweet, which is very atypical for Vietnamese taste. Service is good but i would say i have better Vietnamese hoggie in other places in Philly in terms of the price and the quality

Google
This is a nice addition to the varied food offerings in the area. Hands down, Bahn Mi Spot has the best Vietnamese Coffee in Philadelphia. The food was delicious: freshly prepared and flavorful. Great service too. We sat outside and thoroughly enjoyed hanging out at this great little spot on Frankford Ave. We look forward to our next visit.

Google
I have lived in the area for 2-3 years now and have been meaning to try this place. I have been looking for a place to get some of my favorites, within walking distance of my home. I had the “teriyaki ribeye Bahn mi”, “summer roll with grilled shrimp (not on the menu, but they accommodated me). I decided to sit and eat, because I didn’t have anywhere to be that day. Atmosphere: It is a cute place with comfortable atmosphere with option for indoor or outdoor seating. A warm and earthy feel. Service: Both host and server were polite and helped me identify items that fit my palette. They accommodated some of my tweaks as well. Food: summer rolls were good, served with a traditional peanut sauce. Depending on your palette, a dollop of sriracha will take it up a notch. Teriyaki ribeye has a more subtle flavor with a hint of spice. A twist on the traditional banh mi. I would like to try the pork which is the typical banh mi to really give an honest review of the banh mi. I enjoyed their strawberry lemonade refresher, but more strawberry than lemonade flavor. I would definitely stop again!

Google
Ginger chicken Banh Mi was top notch, vegan pho was exact right portion size and well cooked. Tofu Summer rolls were on point.

Yelp
I love this place! Amazing food and the people are really nice! The weekly deals are awesome too and they have me a free drink for leaving a review!!

Yelp
I really enjoy having a new lunch or takeout spot in the area. It was initially somewhat chaotic, with longer lines and wait times, but they've streamlined their processes, and during my last few visits, everything has gone smoothly. There was one occasion when Toast didn't correctly submit my order, leading to some confusion when I arrived. However, they handled that situation exceptionally well and got my order out promptly. My favorite item is the Ribeye Banh Mi, though it's a bit small to enjoy on its own unless you're not very hungry. I've been trying various appetizers and sides, and while they've all been good, none have been as memorable as the sandwich. It's the star of the show for me.

Yelp
Cute little shop in Fishtown serving Vietnamese food. The service was quick and they were especially kind & patient as we waited for our entire party of 6. The summer rolls were huge and stuffed! Enough to share with someone else. The pho came in a cup which was interesting but the broth was delicious. The Banh mis were also good! The bread was toasted & crunchy. The grilled pork was marinated and overall delicious. It was definitely smaller than some other ones you may find at Ba Le for example. Overall, if you're in the area and craving Vietnamese food, it definitely does the job.

Yelp
Summary of this place after seeing it on IG. Food: 3/5 - I tend to look at value and quality of the food. When lookin at the menu initially, the value for the banh mi seemed amazing. Sub 10$ is great, however when we got the food.....it's prob 1/2 size of an authentic one you get from a mom&pop shop. The flavor was good (I got ribeye) but nothing that blew me away. I did enjoy the Vietnamese coffee. Service: 2/5 - Friendly staff, however they need to fix their processes for handling orders. Ordered my food and waited nearly 15 min and then overheard folks in the back saying the order didn't go through to the kitchen. Total wait time was like 25 min for a small sandwich. Coffee was quick though. Ambiance: 5/5 - Beautiful lookin place in fishtown, helped bump the overall score to 3/5. Overall: 3/5 solid spot in fishtown. Go over there, snag some food drinks and pictures. Food....ehhh, service....needs some process improvements. I'll cut em some slack cause they're new and still improving.

Yelp
This is a beautiful, cozy spot in Fishtown. Aesthetically very pleasing and staff is friendly. I ordered the bang bang shrimp banh mi and lemongrass chicken banh mi. The bang bang shrimp one was delicious but very pricey for a small portion - $9. The lemongrass chicken was ok - $8. A 16 ounce Vietnamese iced coffee was $6, which is comparable to other banh mi cafes. But I didn't like the coffee at all. It had a very artificial flavor. It didn't taste like the phin drip version and I'm not sure if they use Arabica beans versus Robusta beans. I would go back to try other menu items as they had other drink and food options.

Yelp
Great spot in the hood with reasonable pricing. Loved the Ambiance and was a perfect weather day to enjoy the seating with windows open. Good spread of pho, bahn mi, vermicelli and starters. Everything was well priced and the service was good too. Tried their tofu pho, shrimp bahn mi and tofu bahn mi (vegan). Everything was well flavored and quite filling. So many choices on boba tea and Vietnamese coffee that it was a tough pic but a delicious one (caramel foam coffee). Glad to have this place in the neighborhood that is decent price and I hope it stays like this. Will definitely come back again to try more things on the menu.

Yelp
Great cute shop. The coffee was great. Can't wait to go back. Pho by the cup in the winter is genius.

Yelp
This spot hit so close to home. I had just come back from eating banh mis for breakfast everyday in Vietnam to come back home and see that this gem was open. The banh mis are delicious. I came back the next day and ordered 4 more to try with my family. The service was seat yourself and they call out your name when the order is ready. It's also very cute inside. They have a cute little opening where you can sit and people watch and enjoy the indoors at the same time. The coffee was so delicious as well. I wanted to try the egg coffee but they were out both times but it's ok because the salted caramel was still satisfying and not too sweet. Will definitely be my new go to spot when I'm craving a taste of home.

Yelp
Not very impressed, as it's less flavorful and clearly not authentic compared to offerings in South philly. The flavor doesn't punch the way viet food should. but good enough for fishtown i guess

Yelp
Ran in on a whim after a nearby resto couldn't accommodate us. They could not have been friendlier or more accommodating to us and everyone who stopped by. Vegan tofu banh mi was amazing; hoping they add vegan mayo to make it superb!!

Yelp
Ordered carry out from here for the first time and wow, I'll definitely be back. Food was hot and ready super fast. The chichiron sauce was amazing, and I love the cup of pho to go. It's the perfect size to have a sandwich and a soup. Good value for price. Ambiance looked very clean and classy but I was only there briefly.

Yelp
Amazing!!!!!! Great customer service ! Great food ! The crispy tofu is to die for ! The spring rolls divine! The bang bang shrimp perfect! The mango passion fruit refresher is a favorite of my family! Definitely give them a try!

Yelp
Stopped by on a whim since they're doing a soft opening. Picked up a pork belly banh mi and spring rolls. Spring rolls were good, slightly bitter or something similar but went well with the dipping sauce (? Prob not the right word). Pork belly was really good, sandwich a bit messy but delicious. Cute inside, cozy but not overdone or minimalistic either. People seemed nice and food came out pretty quick. Would go back but they need to put prices on menu, though maybe it's a soft opening thing?

Yelp
Decent sandwiches Wish they were a bit bigger* But great iced coffee *the bread is perfect, just a bit Smol

Yelp
Fast, very affordable and delicious. I had the traditional cold cut bahn mi. The pickled radish and carrot were crisp, sweet and sour, just as they should be. The spread and pate were good, and the portion of cold cuts was almost too generous! My only mild criticism is that the bread could be a bit more crisp, but I'll be back to try more soon. A great addition to the neighborhood!

Yelp
Food was delicious. Highly reccomend pork and rib eye. Kind service and very quick. Clean and cute restaurant. Good lunch spot

Yelp
The food here is fantastic and reasonably priced: the teriyaki ribeye and the lemongrass chicken banh mos are both excellent, the bang bang shrimp is messy but testy, and my 17 year old loves the pho.

Yiwen S.

Yelp
Checked this out while stopping in Fishtown. The banh mi was delicious, nice big juicy shrimps. The ones in Chinatown are bigger but also significantly pricier. For under $10 I would consider it worth it. Fried tofu was ok, made well, but maybe not my thing. Would come again.

Rajat S.

Yelp
Ordered the grilled pork and Bang Bang shrimp. Authentic. Very close to the Banh Mi had in Vietnam. Bread could be toasted a bit more, but doesn't take away from the flavor.. Will be back

Yelp
Got the tofu bahn-mi. It had the slightest hint of fishy-ness to it for some reason, but the veggies were fresh and bread crispy. Very busy for lunch, but plenty of places to sit. Service was prompt and polite.

Sarah L.

Yelp
The food was delicious, but I paid $24 for a bahn mi - that was wayyyy tinier than Bale bahn mi's (about 6in) - and sweet potato fries. I couldn't believe it. The flavors were great, but that's way overpriced in my opinion.

Carol L.

Yelp
Excellent food and bubble tea! First, the food. The rice dishes are so flavorful and really fresh ingredients. The summer rolls are so good and fresh and a great deal for a light lunch. Then the bubble tea. Green and black tea options on all flavors, milk tea, all the boba and jelly flavors, and you can order half-sweet. Prices are reasonable too. I love this place!

Cayla M.

Yelp
First time having a banh mi and I'm hooked. I ordered the lemon grass chicken banh mi and it was absolutely delicious! Definitely will be coming back. Service was great. Everyone was so helpful & kind

Andrew L.

Yelp
Very solid banh mi! Ordered the bang bang shrimp & lemongrass chicken. Both were awesome. Prices are very reasonable as well. Will certainly be going back and trying the other banh mi's/teas.
