The food was delicious and the service was great. The place is clean and nice. The menu has great descriptions and a good selection. The price was pretty decent for the portion size. Well worth it. We will be back again soon.

Great food, quick service and delicious food! We wish we had discovered this place sooner! Very well decorated and is family run with authentic food. We loved the beef bulgogi, tacos and chicken, and will look forward to trying more dishes!

Came here right at opening because my mom and I have been having a craving for some pho after a doctor appt. We both ordered the beef pho and it was amazing. Absolutely delciious and perfect for the cold weather. Also got a passion fruit refresher which has passion fruit, dragon fruit and chia🤤 Next time hoping to try the wonton soup.

This was the best tom yum I've had. They sifted out the root, lemon grass, leaves and peeled the shrimp so there was no mess. Genius chefs here. The shrimp rolls were also amazing. This place has amazing art work and a great atmosphere, will definitely be back to try other options. It's a little pricey but I can understand because the food speaks for itself so it made sense once I ate. The pho, bao bun, and Bahn mi were also amazing. The service was outstanding as well.

So I've eaten in twice and ordered out once. So far. The food has been very good for this cuisine in this region. Portions have been decent to huge. Everything I've had here, or my partner has had, has been very good. And substantive. Jamie has been our server twice and he has been an absolute delight. I get what some people say about wait times to ask for something, but that's not been on the staffs effort IMO. Prices are fair for what you get. Location is great, ambiance is nice, menu is broad. I look forward to trying many more things here. I like hot food and the green papaya salad at a 3 out of 5 heat level was too hot to talk and eat at the same time. 2 was even nice and hot. Not sure about other dishes.

The decorations in this place are awesome! Everything is beautiful. I love the wall art. I ordered a Laotian noodle dish called Mee Ka Tee and my husband ordered Thai chicken wings. Both were super delicious. I also liked the hot Vietnamese drip coffee with condensed milk. Everyone who works here is friendly and nice. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

We stumbled across Banh-Sen by accident a couple of months ago on our way down Pennsylvania headed to Betsy's Crepes and made it a point to swing back through that area to locate the restaurant and have a formal visit. Well, today was the day and we were -NOT- disappointed! I really liked the vibe of the restaurant and the art on the far wall in the dining area is absolutely fantastic! It's very impressive and I will upload a few of the pictures I took once I'm done with this review. The staff was very kind and Kaylee (our server) did an awesome job! I was hesitant about trying a new dish during this visit but her guidance made me a lot more comfortable with my choice and she was on-point with her suggestions! Thanks, Kaylee! The prices for our entrees were very reasonable and if I'd known I was going to like what I decided to purchase as much as I did, I would have purchased another entree to take home and have for lunch, tomorrow. We look forward to another visit when we're in the area and wish the restaurant owner and entire staff well until we can get by there, again!

Another awesome meal there! Have to say this place makes my wife and I miss Thailand a bit less. Would like the food to be a bit spicer, but understand why it is not. Will be back soon!

Great Asian food, great atmosphere and great people. What's not like. You can explore many Asian dishes from different countries all prepared with great care. The only thing is if you want your dish real spicy hot....you need to emphasize you don't want it American hot. Update 1-4-24 Thanks James. Hope your son is still around. He's too great as a waiter. He always makes sure our food is blazing spicy even when the rest of the family looks at him like he's crazy. If you mention this review to him he will know who we are. Take care. Love your place.

The pork banh mi is excellent. My husband had the Pho Ga which he said was very good. He really liked my sandwich so I won. A pleasant place. Lots of goodies on the menu.

Our favorite in Southern Pines. Our favorites are the chicken curry ramen, galbi, and any of the bulgogi dishes. Jamie is the best waiter ever!

Food is so good! Love the wall art! Sticky rice is extra sticky which is even better. Personal favorite is the duck, be careful hot is super hot. I'm a foodie and love some steam, my mouth was on fire so A+ but you can also request mild.

We went on a cold night and wanting pho. This place didn't disappoint. There was parking in the lot behind them. We were seated right away but the place seemed busy. I saw the lady running the food out so I knew it would be a wait so we ordered as soon as possible. Ordered pho, laksa, bulgogi, fried dumplings, spicy basil chicken, a fried rice and papaya salad. It was all really good. Everything was spicy! The bulgogi was spicy! I would go again!

This was our first time ever having sake. The Sparkling Mio was a great choice. The laksa and pho were very flavorful. All highly delicious. Laksa has a bite!

This place is a GEM, awesome wait staff and incredibly knowledgeable of the various styles! Their menu is extensive with dishes in Japanese, Vietnamese and Laotian styles, just fantastic. The ingredients are fresh, sauces abundant and portions large. This restaurant is a must do, seriously a hidden gem. Also they serve gluten free and vegetarian dishes also, so enjoy for date night and a large family outing. BTW private off street parking too, parking in Southern Pines can be very difficult.

Great meal and even greater service! I saw a post on Facebook and decided to try the restaurant out. They have outdoor and indoor sitting and very beautiful ambiance. I was impressed with both of the servers making recommendations and guiding me to choices that fit what I wanted. I will be returning. ***l made a to-go order of pot stickers and spicy house ramen (it wasn't too spicy)

Great working lunch date. Started with the crab Rangoons and ordered the beef pho. It was delicious. The wine list is limited but the Clos Du Bois was delicious and perfectly paired with our food. The server, Jamie was quirky, and fun. He was very pleasant and incredibly attentive despite a busy lunch crowd. Sitting outside was fun for wine drinking, & people watching. Honestly, not much work got done. But hey...we had a great experience. Neither of our husbands like this type of food, so I predict many more "work" dates here. Good job, Banh Sen Noodle Bar! You're a welcome addition to the Southern Pines culinary row.

Stopped in for lunch with a friend. We had heard good things and wanted to try it out. One of my favorite restaurants is Bee Banh Mi in Apex so I was excited to have a similar menu here. The dining room was empty with only a handful of diners on the porch. It was 12:30. The restaurant has been totally transformed from the 1980's era of Mannie's restaurant but unfortunately they couldn't retain his lunch crowds. So much money was spent on the renovation but no effort was put into staff training. There was no greeting or explanation of the menu. No conversation to connect the diners with the experience of the food. The only feeling of street food is that you are sitting at a table on Penn Ave while the flies try to carry your plate away. The lovely ceiling fans on the porch were turned off so the flies had their way with our crab rangoons and steam dumplings. Both were good and the flies seemed to agree. Our steaming bowls of Bun Rieu were delivered next. The broth had absolutely no flavor except for the one sprig of cilantro floating on the top. It was just underwhelming. The service was OK. They brought watered down iced tea that had completely melted so it was as flavorless as the soup. At the end of my meal, I finally got a packet of sweetener that had been requested. The servers were silent and had nothing to offer in the way of interaction. I can't understand the restaurant owners in this town who put so much thought into every detail but fail to train their staff. They seem to not make the connection between human interaction and larger tips and larger orders. I don't think I will Return.

I've been here quite a times and I really enjoy it. The staff is friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean and you don't feel like they are trying to cram everyone into a tight space. The food has been fantastic every time. Their Vietnamese spring rolls are addicting and their Pho has always been delicious. I highly recommend this place.

Admittedly our expectations for Bahn Sen were low based on previous experience at The Block, but somehow it still managed to under deliver. We visited on their third day open and expected to deal with delays as usual with any new restaurant. We were not disappointed. Even being sat at a table in a mostly empty restaurant seemed to be a daunting task. The menu contains multiple errors and ambiguous descriptions which further lowered our expectations. We asked a couple of questions of our server and received less than adequate responses. We should have left then. There were only two adults in our party. Not a huge table. When the food came after nearly 25 minutes, only one order was brought. To my surprise the noodles were cold. Apparently this was intentional. It was, however, not stated as such on the menu. The pork was also cold, under seasoned and nearly without sauce. When the waitress returned 5 minutes later without my partners food still, she explained that many people were surprised by the cold noodles. This however, clearly did not prompt her to warm me. At this point we also inquired about the other food and we're provided with an answer of "we're still new to this and working out the bugs." 10 minutes later, the other dish arrived. Same problems. Food was cold, under seasoned, and should not have required 40 minutes to prepare. We paid. Did not eat, and left. As for the interior, the walls are festively painted. The personalized tables seemed poorly constructed and on the third day already out of balance. Save your time and your money and skip this one. They won't be here long.

Food and service has always been fantastic. Regulars there and they have the order memorized for our toddler.

We've eaten at their other restaurant the Block and we love it , This is a great addition to the Southern Pines area .

Today, I ordered the [bun rieu] off their menu. It is a traditional Vietnamese noodle soup compose of shrimp paste meat paddies, tomatoes, tofu and eggs. Although the paddies were not the traditional crab paddies, the dish still balance well with the other composites. The broth is also less salty from the missing shrimp paste which may render a more health conscience alternative to the tradition.

The food was great. We got the summer rolls, the Laksa and the Baa-me moo dang. We were a little surprised by the pork dish because it was cold. The menu didn't specify it would be cold. It was still good just not expected. The laksa was great. Portions were also good. We tried the strawberry cream sake and it was delicious. Really sweet but our server had told us it would be. the service over all was great. The only reason why I'm deducting a star is because the service was slow and the food took a while. This does not prevent me from coming back though. They are still new and had a full house. I'm excited to try more dishes.

Starting off, the vibe at Banh Sen is perfect. The background music and the interior design is fabulous. The service is also great. The plating of food on banana leaves is also a breath of fresh air. The servers explain everything on the menu, if you have questions. The variety of the menu was also refreshing. However, the food has room for improvement. The pho was a little different from other places but the brisket was tender. The ribeye cheese roll was delicious with the sweet chili sauce. I was not a fan of the fresh rolls and their peanut sauce tasted off. I give it 5 stars for ambiance and service but 3 stars for food. However, I hope they are just working out the kinks when it comes to food. I look forward to coming back and trying the laksa.

Loved my first trip to this noodle bar. Servers very attentive and able to answer our questions about the dishes. Food was hot and service timely. Will definitely be back to try more of the dishes.

Just opened today. Food is delicious. I really enjoyed the steak and cheese rolls, and my Pho Bo was great!

The food is good! This is the place for you if you like very flavorful food. I've come in two ocasiones, the first was laksa it was delicious and flavorful. The only thing was it was really dense for my taste, but took the leftovers home and ate it with some white rice and it was still very delicious. The rice plate was OK. It tasted of too much lime for my taste, but good. Will continue to come back and try their food.

Very authentic, proper cooking technique, flavors balanced, fresh ingredients. Quality, ethnic food this town was missing and this town should be more educated on! This place is the real deal and absolutely worth it.

Very disappointed. Food was very expensive and mediocre at best with very meager portions. We went with two other couples. One didn't get her meal until the rest of us had finished and another only got part of her meal. No refills of drinks. The final insult was when we got home and realized we had been charged $33 for a large party! Nowhere on the menu did it mention that six people would be a big up charge. Apparently they add the charge for 5 people, including children. My husband returned to speak with the young man who was the owners son and his only response was that the waitress should have told us. Don't waste your time or money on this place. Lunch for 6 was over $200. Should have know when a glass of lukewarm coffee was $7.

Server explained everything on the menu well and even explained how to eat it, also had recommendations! Food came out fast and hot, very authentic & spicy! The restaurant was very nice, we sat outside bc it was a nice day. Can't wait to go and try more. Forgot to take a picture of everything but we had the Philly cheesesteak rolls appetizer, papaya salad, Loation sausage, and Singapore noodles!

Have been twice now since they opened. Ordered the same things both times. First time was great. Second time not so much. Noodles undercooked and food tasted off. Both of us got really sick the next day as well

Was so excited to see some of the items from Mai phi on the menu. We LOVE the block and all of the other restaurants but unfortunately this one didn't hit the mark. We ordered 3/5 spice when we usually order 5/5. The food was so spicy we couldn't even eat it! Summer rolls were delish though. The flavor of the two meals were good but just way overpowered by the spice. Very expensive for "street food" and couldn't even enjoy it.

Wow!!!!! Amazing food and good vibe . I Miss the street food. Yes it's brand new they are still working out the kinks but definitely a must try. If you've travel to Asia then you know how amazing the Asian street food is Authentic and so much beautiful flavors. The service we had were Great. If you see some dish and don't know what it is hey there's alway google. I'm lucky enough to know what I love. So excited to be able to find it here. Love the cold noodle and pork. No one in this town have it. The chicken was amazing my husband loved it. I love the noodle dish. We will be here more often. Get there early they are so busy they do run out of food. Definitely Great fresh Asian street food.

Spicy pork bulgogi with sticky rice was delicious and did not take very long to get to us. I wish I'd known about this wonderful place sooner. I'll definitely be telling friends about this neat little spot and bragging about how friendly our server was.

The fried rice ball is good. Can't remember the name but we've got it a few times. I think I saw someone eating FuFu? Not sure how to spell it but would love to try it.

My family of 6 just stopped by this place for supper. It was AHMazing! Our waitress Dee was very informative and patient with our many questions and gave excellent recommendations. My husband myself, and our 4 children all loved our dishes. The manager or owner one brought out boba teas for our children on the house for a tiny spill that was made by a server. He was very kind and the children thought it was the coolest thing ever. If we are ever back in the area we will go back!

Fabulous, fresh and delicious! I had the Tom Yum dish and the shrimp eggrolls, and the coconut water served in fresh coconut. It was fabulous, and the staff was very friendly.

Jaime was our server and we had a phenomenal experience. Such a kind and talkative person. God did good work! Probably the best waiter we've ever had. The food was amazing too. First time finding gluten free pho. I would 100% come back here. You must try it!!! - Paige and Jared

I eat here once a week. This is where I bring all my friends. Service is great. Food comes fairly fast even during busy times. Every time the food is consistently incredible. This is hands down the best noodles in the area. I've only ever had that noodle dishes but will be trying more menu items in the future.

I was excited to try this new restaurant in town with my husband for a date night. We were seated right away but then we're left waiting. We ordered sake and soda/water. When that came we placed our food order. We were told it would be 30-45 minutes for our food and that was ok. However, no one ever came to check on us after that. We would have liked to order more sake or at least have our soda and water refilled but it was impossible to call anyone to the table to request this. One server was busting her butt and the rest seemed to be just floating around and yet no one came to check on us. When the food arrived (and hour later) my order was wrong and I was told they would remake it. I thought I'd be waiting another hour but somehow they were able to make it in 5 minutes? Why did I have to wait an hour prior? The place was not packed by any means. Over all the food was ok, nothing spectacular. I don't think we will be back.

Great Atmosphere. The food is delicious and the service is phenomenal and the sake they have is just too good. You will always need a sake while there.

Food was really bland. It took forever for us to get our drinks and by the time our drinks got to us the ice was melted and our soda was flat. The whole night we saw our server twice.

Food was good but came out cold. Waited 45 minutes between apps and two entrees for them to come out cold was disappointing. Flavor profile is good. Would try it again!

Food was very good. Had several Asian beers on the menu and they were out of all of them. Waiter was accommodating and apologetic but not knowledgeable about the menu. Could use an upgrade on their napkins and offered no plates with the appetizers. After they figure out the glitches, we'll go back.

We arrived shortly before closing last night and were welcomed in with smiling faces. The food was AMAZING and the service was fantastic! We sat outside and along with the great ambiance, Jamie (server) didn't leave us wanting for anything. He had a great attitude, answered all of our questions and made excellent dinner suggestions. James and the rest of the team were equally friendly and welcoming. This will be our new "go to". Thanks for a great dinner Banh Sen.
