How Prolific Food Influencer LisaEatsLA Plans a Week’s Worth of Dining Out | Eater LA

"I filmed Bánh Xèo Quán in Rosemead and the video went viral—roughly 198,000 views and about 4,500 shares—bringing the small Vietnamese spot hundreds of new customers; the owner later recognized my mom and me, tried to comp the meal (we paid but accepted comped drinks), and told us many non-Asian diners said they found the restaurant through my Instagram or TikTok." - Matthew Kang

The Best Vietnamese Restaurants in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"Banh Xeo Quan, also known as Mr. Rice, specializes in Vietnamese crepes. Owner Phi Tran opened the restaurant to bring this southern Vietnamese specialty to the San Gabriel Valley. Bánh xèo, which literally means “sizzling cake,” earned its name from the sound the batter makes when it hits the scorching pan. The result is a thin crepe that’s crisp and delicate throughout with lacy, caramelized edges. Stuffed inside are bean sprouts, mushrooms, shrimp, and pork. Go ahead and upgrade to the bánh xèo dặc biệt for extra filling." - Cathy Chaplin

Quite Wonderful people. First time here and I will be back. Lee was kind enough on how to eat this dish. Please come and enjoy. So birds need passports to fly from place to place. We are all one. Be the love you want in your life. And it will appear for what you are looking for is looking for you.

Google
Best Banh Xeo ever! Limited menu food items, just 4 but they are dam good. Huge Vietnamese crispy crepe with pork, shrimp, onions, bean sprouts & mushrooms. Small restaurant with a few tables inside. Limited hours: 10 to 3 pm Mon-Sat. Small parking lot in the back & street parking. The stewed duck noodle soup was on point. It’s been years since I’ve had one. The Vietnamese iced milk coffee hit the spot - strong & sweet. If you want Banh Xeo, this is the joint.

Google
Definitely one of the best places to get banh xeo in this area -fast service, nice waiters who know English and Viet -lots of herbs and salad, which is a must for this dish -super crunchy! You can hear it in every bite. This is a result of using more oil, which can be felt in some bites, but overall very good -fair prices, though it may feel a bit steep at $17 per plate -the restaurant itself has a nice homey feeling Would definitely go again!

Google
I randomly discovered the place for Ban Xeo. Quite an interesting dish. It is very crispy. You wrap each bite with the lettuce. I am new to it, so my table was a bit of a mess. The owner, a guy, spoke english. That’s good. There was a sign that says they’ll take credit card, but charge a $1 fee. I think that’s a bit steep. There’s ample parking at the back.

I was in New noodle city and fresh from HCMC when I realized I never had a bahn Xeo when I was in Viet Nam . Then I found out it's pretty hard to find on Valley Boulevard. So I did some research and found this place. I begged The Worm to take me and we chatted our way over there. The look of the place from the outside was not promising -- I thought it was closed -- but inside in was super cool, an old shotgun donut diner. Half the tables were filled and the owner, James, seated us and gave us the simple menu. I was going to get the vegan one because gout but he sensibly intervened and suggested we get the fish. We did. It arrived huge and with a big plastic bag of greens -- he told us to wrap it and drip it in fish sauce, and further suggested that if I liked spicy I could put siracha or Chile sauce IN THE FISH SAUCE. I cannot believe I got this far without knowing about, much less thinking of, this genius step. It tastes so, so good, god knows how James got all that flavor in there. So very satisfying in ways I was not expecting. The Worm was well impressed that Thai Tea was only $2.50, and it was very good. The iced sue da was full of flavor too. New addition to my top five. Thanks James!

Google
Bánh xèo here is very good. Their fish sauce to dip in is the best in town. Vegetables to eat with bánh xèo are always very fresh & good. However, the price of the side order, rice papers to eat with bánh xèo in case you like to use them to put bánh xèo in to make it a wrap, is overpriced! $2 for 8 pieces. Today, I just asked the manager (?) to add 4 pieces of rice paper to the regular order and I would pay him $ 3 instead since we could not finish 2 orders of this side dish but he refused in a not-very- nice manner!

Google
Run don’t walk! Got the pork and shrimp banh xeo and the owners and staff were so friendly and helpful. The crepe was crispy, and we ate it in the to go box in our car. Wow! I’ve had this dish at a lot of places in OC and SGV and this one is great, and not one to miss. Also, this business is totally the type you wanna support. Good people deserve our support!!! Plus incredible food, so cmon! A few years ago they shot a Steve Carrell film here, and the owner told us some great stories about him. If they aren’t busy, maybe she’ll share the stories with you too? ;)

Google
Quality food and service ! Such a welcoming and cozy environment. Staff is kind and attentive. We had their signature savory crepe , tomato rice hen and their duck egg noodle soup. So satisfying, tasty and refreshing. I love their ice,I feel like it compliments the drinks. Must go to in SGV . Hidden Gem .

Yelp
FOOD I thought the noodle dishes (especially the duck one) were delicious but the Banh Xeo is where they really shine. Everyone at my table agreed that we wish we filled up more on the Banh Xeo and less on everything else. If you've got a big party though, definitely try the noodles! SERVICE The lady who served us was so kind. My friend wanted a drink and couldn't decide. Our server made recommendations and even told my friend that she'll give him a refund if he didn't like her recommendations. She checked in on us throughout the meal and made sure our glasses were full and that we enjoyed our food. LOCATION There's a small parking lot in the back and street parking in the area. The restaurant itself isn't large and feels like a homey mom and pop shop. It looks like Steve Carell filmed something here a few years back and they have photos of him in the restaurant and with the owners plastered all over the walls, which I thought was really cute! It's definitely not the best for huge parties, but we saw several parties of 2-4 here and each table got great service.

Yelp
Delicious Vietnamese food that reminds me of Vietnam. Love their simple menu where they make everything very well. 3 versions of banh xeo and 2 egg noodle dishes. My favorite is the banh xeo with fish. Super crispy and fish is juicy. Another favorite is the duck noodle soup. Rich savory dish with a pickled papaya that's refreshing. My family and I also love the pandan mung bean drink too. Private parking lot of the back. Ambiance is casual with quick service.

Yelp
This hole-in-the wall, cash only spot slays banh xeo! The banh xeo is served crispy AF and stays that way throughout the entire dining experience. The crepe is served with standard veggies, with an option to add spring roll wraps for an up-charge (do it!). The filling is customizable but you can never go wrong with the classic shrimp and pork combo. The menu is very limited but they offer a noodle entree that was also really good. However, most people who come here go for the banh xeo. I'll be back soon when my next craving for banh xeo hits. They even offer a carry out deal for banh xeo!
google avatar

Yelp
This hole-in-the-wall is an incredible spot for Banh Xeo. I stopped by with my boyfriend for an early lunch, and all the seats quickly filled up as we were eating. We ordered a Banh Xeo to share and paid extra for rice paper to wrap the Banh Xeo. The Banh Xeo was everything I hoped it would be! Very crunchy/crispy exterior, and loaded with ingredients. We got the regular pork and shrimp Banh Xeo, but I saw they have a vegetarian option on the menu. A lot of take-out orders were for the vegetarian Banh Xeo, so it must be excellent. Overall, this spot serves up the epitome of Banh Xeo and I hope to be back the next time I'm in the area.
google avatar

Karen X.

Yelp
Great hole in the wall place known for the bahn xeo. Located on the corner of a street in Rosemead, they never changed the etching on the door or windows, so it still says it's a donut shop. I love it. Super friendly staff that made us feel so welcomed. We go the bahn xeo of course. It was huge and came with a side of veggies in a bag. The sauce it came with is actually a little bit sweet. I got a Vietnamese coffee and that thing was creeaammy. Overall, a great experience and the food was delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
The famous banh xeo everyone talks about. I wanted to try after seeing this on SGV eats. It comes in a pizza box which I thought was very charming. The banh xeo is crispy, flavorful, and huge!! I do wish they gave more seafood, but the flavor is there. I also got their mung bean drink which is a chunkier versions of 7 leaves. It's so good! Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Yelp
There are no shortage of GREAT Vietnamese food to Banh Xeo in SoCal. But believe me, you have not had GREAT Banh Xeo until you've tried Banh Xeo Quan!!! Absolutely the BEST Banh Xeo you will ever have.. it is perfectly crispy with a very slight chew, flavorful with perfectly balanced ingredients and flavors. Oh, and their house made fish sauce is also oh - so- good. Which they also sells for $15 per bottle. Excellent and a must try whenever you're in the area!!
google avatar

Ross W.

Yelp
It's no joke. The crepes were ginormous. They were fresh & crispy, & they did not skimp on the fillings. Further, you get a lot of veggies, better than lettuce, to wrap your crepe in. I enjoyed the vegetarian one with a good amount of tofu, bean sprouts & mushroom. Hubby tried the shrimp & pork one . He commented that the shrimps were not de-shelled. Another tried Duck & Egg Noodles Soup. The duck meat was very tough, but it came with a decent amount of vegetables. The menu is limited with 5 options only, 2 of which were not available on our day of visit. The restaurant is housed in a very old building at a corner with minimal decor. Total mom & pop business. Service was surprisingly pleasant. There is a small parking lot in the back. I would return for the crepes.
google avatar

Jamie D.

Yelp
Ambiance is not the best here but you know what's the best here??? Their Banh Xeo will be the best if not one of the best you've ever eaten. Super crispy and ginormous!!! And for those with dietary restrictions, they have options: pork and shrimp one, fish one and a vegan one too. Ordered for take-out, which they pack in a pizza box (1$8?) is genius!) and ate it with colleagues at work and it hits the spot every damn time!

Yelp
A quaint small restaurant with the BEST banh xeo - Vietnamese crepe, in SoCal. I ordered the traditional banh xeo which came with shrimp, pork, mushrooms, and onions. There's a generous portion of fresh veggies with sesame leaves, basil leaves, lettuce, mustard leaves, mint, etc. the produce is high quality and very fresh as if it was picked from the garden that day. So what makes this delicious? It's an eggs crepe with a higher egg to flour ratio. It's light and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It's a lighter, crispy omelet for context. Not pictured was the duck soup. The duck soup has a generous portion of shiitake mushrooms, bok choy and a lip smacking marinated duck leg. The BROTH WAS AMAZING, umami flavors of licorice or star anise with sweet duck flavor. To top it all off, the service was quick and friendly. Keep in mind this is a small business and it doesn't look like much. But as they say, the best places to eat are the hole in the walls at an unassuming location. A truly hidden gem. There's a small parking lot in the back or street parking is available. Bon appetit yelpers!

Yelp
Friday morning right after they open at 10am, there was already customer. Before leaving back to the bay , I had to get my banh xeo fix. Ordered: Banh xeo- à must!!! Very delicious esp their nuoc mam dipping sauce Mi kho- was good Will always come back here when in town... a must!
google avatar

Yelp
L O V E D the Banh Xeo!! Came on a Saturday (street parking is easiest) and ordered Banh Xeo to go. I believe you can call ahead, but if not, it takes ~10 minutes to make. The Banh Xeo is huge and is provided in a pizza box for transportation. I live ~20-30 min away from the restaurant, but when I came home, it was still warm and SOOO crispy. The first bite had me saying WOW and I can't imagine how delicious it must be when eating in person. The homemade fish sauce was also delicious and provided the perfect sweetness and acidity to compliment the entire dish. Will I be coming back? Yes for sure
google avatar

Joan W.

Yelp
Cozy spot to take care of a Banh Xeo craving. It came crispy and a light mix of pork, shrimp, and roughly chopped mushrooms with plenty of sautéed onions. I asked to skip the bean sprouts. Very friendly bilingual staff.
google avatar

Oscar B.

Yelp
The perfect banh xeo in a small cozy spot. The shrimp & pork banh xeo had great crispy exterior, shrimp/pork were very tasty, and went perfectly with their fish sauce. Lots of lettuce on the side. With this, no need to drive down to Little Saigon in OC for banh xeo. Their service has always been A+. This was my 2nd time here. During my 1st time here years ago, I was having a rough day but the nice gentlemen working here that I interacted with at that time made that day much more pleasant. They probably don't know but it's something I'll never forget! Thank you Banh Xeo Quan!
google avatar

Aaron T.

Yelp
2nd time here. It's a very small and cozy place, on a busy corner of Garvey Ave. Menu is very limited but there should be something for everyone. Kind and fairly friendly service, you can tell the place is family-run. Maybe 6 tables, depending on when you go, you may be sitting very close to other patrons. Sometimes, it's what's on the inside that counts (as opposed to outside appearances) and this place fits that perfectly.
google avatar

Zoe T.

Yelp
Banh xeo is still just as good as I remember and super crispy! The workers are very sweet and quite proud of the fact that their restaurant was used in a film with Steve Carell. Their fish sauce dipping sauce is absolutely delicious and garlicky, and I still recommend getting the rice paper to wrap your banh xeo as an easier transport method into your mouth. I liked the regular banh xeo with pork and shrimp more than the fish one today because it was a bit more flavorful, but both are good and they give you the perfect amount of veggies/herbs to eat with the banh xeo. ***Do note that they will be closed June 3rd-July 7th for summer break, and they will reopen on July 8th!!!
google avatar

Jenny G.

Yelp
This place is a hole on a wall establishment in the corner on Garvey Ave. It had a very old school vibe from the outside, and the inside was no difference. Once we walked in, there was an oder probably from old wood? It was definitely not a pleasant smell. Other than that, I would only recommend ordering the Banh Xeo and the drinks. The other food is not recommended. The star of the show, banh xeo, was delicious. It was crispy with plenty of veggies and herbs. The pandan mung bean drink was really good. Just enough of pandan and mung bean flavor also not too sweet. The Thai tea was more on the light side as compared with Thai ice from Thailand. Banh Xeo was delicious and would only go back for that and probably take it out.
google avatar

Jun L.

Yelp
I usually go at least twice to a restaurant before writing a Yelp review, unless it's a very disappointing 1-star experience, or a super amazing 5-star surprise. After just one visit, Banh Xeo Quan deserves a Yelp review... 5 stars!!!!! I've been a fan of Vietnamese cuisine for at least the last decade, but I've never heard of Banh Xeo until I saw it on YouTube the last couple of months. Supposedly, residents of Orange County drive all the way to Rosemead just to get the Banh Xeo. After one visit, I can definitely see why! Banh Xeo is a Vietnamese crepe/pancake filled with shrimp, pork, and bean sprouts. Definitely doesn't sound too exciting, but the original Banh Xeo made my taste buds scream for joy. So unforgettably delicious and so crispy, and I will definitely be back for more. Definitely will have to try the fish version next time, according to other reviewers. Thanks to YouTube Vlogger Wah for highlighting Banh Xeo Quan as one of the best places to eat in the SGV. Will definitely try taking the Banh Xeo home next time. He loves the place because the Banh Xeo stays crispy even if taken home. Banh Xeo Quan is definitely not fancy, but sometimes the best food places are the hole in wall places. The staff at Banh Xeo Quan were totally welcoming and friendly on our first visit. I'm not sure if there's a private lot for parking, but there are plenty of street parking spots along Garvey Avenue.
google avatar

Winnie K.

Yelp
Banh Xeo Quan specializes in their namesake Banh Xeo - Vietnamese Crepes. The service is quick and friendly. For the food: The Banh Xeo comes with lettuce, fresh herbs and fish sauce. The classic has shrimp, pork, mushroom, bean sprouts, eggs and onion. The crepe is lightly crisp and refreshing. Add the rice paper for a more filling meal.
google avatar

Eva C.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place forever since friends frequent this place and kept taunting us with photos. Very simple menu with main focus being Banh Xeo (other places may spell Xiao). It's crispy and perfectly cooked, especially wrapped with rice paper so worth forking over the extra $2 for 8 pieces (more than enough for 2). Tho I'd prefer the shrimp unshelled for this. The duck egg noodle was good as well. Noodle chewy / firm, soup flavorful, didn't care for the duck itself. A bit outside of our drive for food when there are plenty of good options nearby. Will be an infrequent place for us Arcadians. Fun Fact: the film Beautiful Boy (2018) was filmed there.
google avatar

Anna C.

Yelp
Come here for your banh xeo cravings. No need to drive to OC, enough said. Just wish they are open later.
google avatar

Anuhea Kailua L.

Yelp
Wow, super disappointing. I vowed to never go to a restaurant featured in an insta marketing reel. Because I was a sucker for maybe 10 of them and I didn't like a single one. But my brother dragged me out cuz he was curious and I love banh xeo. So this was the 11th time...no more Banh xeo here is $17. I've never paid more than $12 so this better be good, right??? It came out and I could see the crisp skin but when you break it apart, it's basically 85% bean sprouts (the cheapest vegetable ever), maybe 3 total slices of mushroom, 3 total pieces of bad quality pork and some shrimp with skin. Wow... we couldn't believe our eyes....very bad start. We then ordered a bowl of duck noodles. Probably the worst and cheapest bowl of duck noodle soup ever. The duck (you get one dry and tough asf duck leg with zero flavor, barely edible. I thought maybe we got a bad piece of duck so we ordered another bowl. It was the same. We realized they basically boil the crap out of all the duck until there's zero flavor left. They keep the good soup and save some on the side and hella season it and serve it to the customers. Noodles portion was small and the quality of noodles was poor. $16 each bowl of duck noodle soup (one duck leg and half an egg noodle portion with some bok Choy) Whaaaaa...so sad The taste overall was probably 2/10. We felt super ripped off so the entire meal was not enjoyable at all. My brother was confused and my mom also came along with us and she was pissed, she couldn't believe we were being served these low quality dishes for the price in such a hole in the wall (very run down and needs updating) setting. Anyway, this was the final straw for insta reel marketing for business for me. There's a reason why they have to market their establishment for business. The legit restaurants don't need it and will stick to those. Won't be back, we felt we got tricked and the food we thought was pretty bad
google avatar

Tina W.

Yelp
The best Banh Xeo in the 626! Always perfectly crispy and delicious. My favorite is the fish fillet banh xeo, but the original with pork and shrimp is also excellent. The portion is pretty big, larger than my hand, sometimes I'll order some rice paper to make a nice spring roll with it. I usually order to go and my order is always ready when I arrive. The staff is always friendly and makes me feel like a valued customer.
google avatar

Karly T.

Yelp
Best Banh Xeo in SGV hands down. My family has been going here for the past 10 years. I go at least once a month for the banh xeo. Service is friendly and quick. Love this place!
google avatar

Delfin T.

Yelp
FIVE STAR for the food & service. It's the ambiance I didn't care for. The place looks old and dark... and the restroom looks like it belongs in a 3rd world country. Food is soooo good... so definitely worth going.

Khang T.

Yelp
Definitely one of the best places to get banh xeo in this area -fast service, nice waiters who know English and Viet -lots of herbs and salad, which is a must for this dish -super crunchy! You can hear it in every bite. This is a result of using more oil, which can be felt in some bites, but overall very good -fair prices, though it may feel a bit steep at $17 per plate -the restaurant itself has a nice homey feeling Would definitely go again!
google avatar

Diana T.

Yelp
Nothing can compare to what we make at home. But it is a lot of work and it's a ridiculous amount of ingredients we need. This place actually has Banh Xeo in the name. It does not disappoint. You can ask to remove the bean sprouts if you are pregnant or worried about sprouts but it's still a great size for an order a person. I love how it comes in a small pizza box and it's makes it that much more delicious and easy to carry yet still crispy when you take it to go. They give you plenty of veggies per order. I would love to try all the other dishes here but they are usually low in stock. Just stick with Banh Xeos to not get disappointed. Ambiance: what ambiance? This is a small mom and pop shop with short hours. They are always friendly but don't expect a "date" atmosphere unless the person is down to earth and cares about food more than fluff.
google avatar

Angie N.

Yelp
Delicious crispy banh xeo. The place is airy bright and clean. Not your typical mom and pop viet restaurant. The only thing I didnt like is that they serve a large amount of raw bean sprouts in the banh xeo.
google avatar

Gene W.

Yelp
Big portions and delicious! Super nice owner. Recommended by Viet friends and will be back!
google avatar

Karen N.

Yelp
Yum!! I usually have to drive pretty far to get good banh xeo, but this place definitely hits the spot! The banh xeo is crispy, a good portion, and comes with plenty of veggies! I got the vegetarian one and it came with tofu and mushrooms along with bean sprouts. It was the cheapest one for $15. The space is quite small and there's a parking lot at the back. The service was very friendly! I also got their mung bean drink, but it was too thick for my liking. I believe they charge you $1 if you pay with credit card. Overall, solid place for some banh xeo!
google avatar

Amanda T.

Yelp
This place is SO good for banh xeo! I came here for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon and there was no wait at all. There's parking in the back or street parking. I ordered their #1 banh xeo and it came really quick. The banh xeo was really crispy and huge. They have a bag of lettuce, which you use to wrap the banh xeo with and dip into the sauce. It was perfection, so flavorful. There's a lot of mung sprouts inside the banh xeo and it can get messy to eat, but so worth it.
google avatar

Annie N.

Yelp
I trust any place with only four items on their menu. Banh Xeo Quan may look and feel like a hole-in-the-wall, but I've learned that it's famous and well-known among the locals in the area. Rightfully so, this banh xeo is flavorful and crispy like no other (dare I say better than my mom's?)! Great food, friendly service, fair prices. What's not to love? They also have roasted duck noodle soup, chicken and tomato rice, and hu tieu. I would come back to try the other items, but definitely the banh xeo is where it's at!
google avatar

Angela P.

Yelp
As the name of the restaurant indicates, you should 100% order the Banh Xeo. The Banh Xeo here is delicious!!! Crispy, crunchy crepe filled with fried shrimp, pork, mushrooms, onion, and plenty of bean sprouts! The dipping fish sauce perfectly complements the Banh Xeo after you have wrapped it in lettuce. Great service and we could hear the sizzling of the batter hitting the pan to make our crepe after we ordered. Came for lunch because they close at 3PM. Highly recommend checking this place out if you are craving an authentic Vietnamese classic executed perfectly well!
google avatar

Binh N.

Yelp
I come here for all my banh xeo needs. I buy mine to go and it's always packed nicely. Very filling, tasty and plenty of vegetables left over for other meals. I get the shrimp banh xeo, my wife gets the pork and shrimp. I've been visiting every weekend so far.
google avatar

Tina L.

Yelp
Legit place for Banh xeo!!! So crispy!! If you want some really good Banh xeo come here, you'll be happy. I'm not a fan of Banh xeo but I'm in love.
google avatar

Jacqulyn N.

Yelp
Hole in the wall type of restaurant but their food is amazing!! Every-time we crave a crispy savory Vietnamese crepe this is the place to go. Not only is the banh xeo good but i would recommend trying their duck soup! So warm, delicious and comforting! Service is always quick and easy.
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
This small hole in the wall has a small menu but everything on it is amazing and pricing and portions are definitely worth it. I definitely recommend to check it out if you are a fan of banh xeo. Parking may be a little challenging but you'll definitely find some. You may just have to walk a little
google avatar

Jenny R.

Yelp
One of the best I've had in the local area of San Gabriel bakery and I love how it comes in a pizza box! How cool is that?

Yelp
Had to try it! Work pays for my lunch on Fridays. So todays choice was Banh Xeo Quan. I came to try their famous Banh xeo. Let me say that this place is a real local spot. And the hospitality and service is is like visiting relatives. So thanks for the good experience. The Banh xeo is huge! Very filling. To be honest, I didn't know how to eat it lol based on YouTube videos, there's really no correct way to eat it. The woman who worked there was so sweet. She'd come by and check on me and ask how it was and also made some helpful suggestions on how to eat it. Thank you so much! The Banh xeo was well cooked and seasoned. A combination of seasoning and meats. The veggies in the side help. Definitely filling! I enjoyed it and I'm glad I came in to try it. It's so good, Steve Carell has been here and has a photo on the wall. Again, thanks for the good food and hospitality!

now this is a hole in the wall.! the owner and worker(prob family) is super nice!! the place is small and seating is tight, but just suck it up bc the grub is worth it. they've been around for many years but i just just stumbled in one day and it was such a good find. their menu is small...but that's when u know they got their stuff down. banh xeo is awesome! crispy and stuffing is great! it's not oily like most banh xeo and not as big, but it's solid. it comes with a fresh bag of veggies. duck noodle was god even tho i'm not a fan of duck except for peking duck. their dry egg noodle will take u to heaven! fave: banh xeo (vietnamese crepe) dry egg noodle come support this place, but pls don't get so busy that i have to wait outside in line

Yelp
Love their Bánh Xeo here! Came in on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. The guy in the front was extremely nice and the food came out very quickly. Their portions are huge!! Love it

Yelp
WHOLE. LEE. SHIT. I am mind blown at how this humble and unassuming place in the middle of the most boring part of Rosemead (lol) is cranking out excellence. The menu is very simple...PERFECTED...and slanging Banh Xeo is what they do! For those who don't know, Banh Xeo are crispy Vietnamese crepe pancakes filled with whatever protein, veggies, sprouts and mung bean. I thought I thought I'd go easy this time and do sort of a "Banh Xeo light" by getting the vegetarian Banh Xeo Chay - tofu, mushrooms, mung bean and sprouts...but let me tell you the crepe was a HEAVYWEIGHT. Massive crispy fried crepe packed to the brim with everything. Accompanied by a big ol' bag full of veggies and herbs to wrap the pieces of crepe you break: green leaf lettuce, mint, Thai basil, fish leaf (?), Perilla leaf. And then dip it in that Fish sauce - tangy, sweet, SUPERB. I'm humbled. I'm truly humbled by this. On my search for these savory, crispy Vietnamese crepes, I've found the Holy Grail. However, I think it's going to mess up the Vietnamese crepe crawl all over Los Angeles that I had planned.

Yelp
Getting way..... expensive!! Less meat, and plenty of veggies filling. The price is ridiculous.

Yelp
I'd drive from West LA for this. We got the crepe and duck noodle soup. Both were so good. We also got the yogurt on a whim and it was also delicious. The staff here are so friendly and kind. They even gave us a yogurt to go when they heard we were driving back to west LA!

Yelp
The best restaurants create a simple menu, a small simple menu of what they do best. The menu contains dishes you can count on two hands. The owner Lynn was super attentive and hospitable. She got us situated quickly and gave us menus. The smells in the restaurant got me Pavlovian. Then came the food. The Vietnamese crepe is definitely a highlight-- lightly crunchy, filled with veggies and shrimp. You wrap it in leaves, greens, roll it up like a burrito, dip in nuoc nam, the resulting flavors are a combination of refined anchovy, brine and honey that Vietfiles like me love. The crisp and savory Cornish hen and tomato rice is slap-ya-mamma geniusly good. The prawn in crab butter is the epitome of the refined melding of French and Viet flavors. I loved the environs here-- like eating in a well loved and patronized small family restaurant in South Asia--- a handful of tables, a menu that fits on 1 page and plates come out from the kitchen not even 7 feet away..... with beaucoup deliciousness and love. End of Yelp.

Yelp
I Love Banh xeo (Vietnamese's pizza) here. It tastes the same as a local food in Vietnam. I think the price is a little expensive compared to other foods. One thing I don't like is they close too soon at 3pm. It's hard to buy it at around that time.

Yelp
Banh xeo is good but I always ask for no bean sprouts because it makes the crepe soggy. Wrapping the banh xeo with rice paper is a game changer. The vegetables are always fresh here and the crispy chicken is also a good dish

Yelp
This hole in a wall has the best Banh Xeo! A girlfriend introduced this place to me years ago and im glad it's still up and running after pandemic hit. My mom's favorite Viet dish is banh Xeo and she approves of this place also. The place is quite small , it's isn't the my esthetic restaurant but that when you know they mean business when it comes to their signature dish. It's airy, crispy, and a nice big banh Xeo. Served with fresh herbs and greens that are individual packed and ready to eat. Enjoyed with nuoc mam cham for dipping. It's honestly my go to when I crave Banh Xeo and it never fails. I also usually washing it down with an order the of the rau ma with mung bean drink! So good I want to go there right now!
