we are here ONLY for the safety deposit box for the access we had the key. i ask one of the Chinese Lady teller we are here for safety deposit box access n she said you still have to b in linr with the rest customers which like 5 n they worked pretty slow as well. no wonder the ratings for this branch are so low. they should have someone who help customers with simple stuff like access deposit box n atm help. finally they brought another guy teller to help out. i just updated with ratings from 1 to 3 cause the asian guy's help my mom was kind

The staff inside are very patient. The short-haired lady helped me deal with the card theft today. She was very careful and attentive and helped me lock the card. I really appreciate her professionalism and carefulness. The lady with glasses at the window was very gentle and had a good attitude. 👍 I felt very warm and took care of my anxiety.

I went to the Montreal Park location this morning to open a new account, but the staff told me they couldn’t help me for reasons that didn’t make sense. I left confused because I went to another Bank of America branch near Los Angeles right after, and they were able to open the same account for me with no problem at all. It’s frustrating that the same request can be handled so differently between locations. I hope the Montreal Park branch can improve consistency in their service and better assist customers in the future.

This branch is crowded, there lots of ATM, no drive through ATM, no enough park lots. So be careful with the time, it's hard to park at peak time. The in-person service is good! My photos show the parking situation around 10 is, I guess the reason is there are too many restaurants in this area, so it's hard to park.

Beware of fraud. Bank of America has the worst fraud prevention I have ever seen. They let someone else withdrawn money from my bank account. The scammer doesnt even have my debit card, but apparently they can withdraw using a fake ID with the teller somehow. I called their fraud team, told them what happened, closed the old account, opened a new one - and it still happened 3 more times! It happened once at this exact branch. I lost in total $3000, but they only refunded me with $1400, saying it takes 90 days to “investigate”. I have at least 5 case queries with them right now and nothing gets resolved. It has been a month. Do me a favor, use another bank. Chase has a better fraud prevention team when they sent u a message to check if you are doing the withdrawal, instead of letting scammers take all your hard earned money.

The staff moving very slow in this branch. The bank teller section have 3 window open, however, is only one person really working even the line has over 15 people are waiting . The teller taking turn doing couple client and close the window and walk away. It’s very weird. I need to wait 30-40mins on the line to get service which not even the peak hour.

I went to deposit money in the morning. I parked my car at the ATM parking space. The security guard was very rude and refused to let me park anywhere. I changed the location, but he still refused to let me park. His attitude was very bad. Why didn’t he put a barrier on the parking space? The way he shook his head was very scary. I had to change banks. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe.

TLDR: I understand how frustrating it is working with clients when there is a language barrier. However, it's so unprofessional to show how impatient and annoyed you are. Their strong suit is English and Chinese. We made an appointment with a banker and pre-requested for our meeting to be in a different language and also wrote it in the notes indicating so. As a child of an immigrant parent, I struggle translating words when it's not common household terms I've come to hear and utilize in my daily life. I made it a point to banker multiple times in beginning that I'd very much like a translator rather than having to translate for my parent because I don't want to explain it wrong and mess things up. She went in search of a translator and said they would be back in 10 minutes. I persuaded my parent that if it's just 10 minutes it's fine, but the reality was we were probably going to be waiting closer to 30+ minutes as the banker would just help the next customer in line. We have been in this predicament at this location before. My parent asked the banker if it was just going to be 10 more minutes. The banker led us back to the room and tried to understand and simplify what we trying to do by giving options after we presented our documents and explained we were trying to with with our banking, then said I don't even understand what you're trying to say, I can't help. She stormed off and came back , this time trying to utilize an online/mobile translator. She asked what number had to be typed in to the phone, but my parent and I didn't understand what type of code/number was needed. She walked away again, but luckily this time she came back with someone that could help translate. We were able to communicate with the banker but it still felt very hostile and rushed. We don't feel like valued customers.

very nice. Bank of America is very good. Because there is high efficiency inside. Professional. Patient staff. Many people do not know English. Or English is very poor. Unable to communicate. DO NOT BANK AT THIS LOCATION!! Never failed, no one greeted customers in or out. My visits were unpleasant. Inside was always hot and stuffy. The long line due to one or two tellers at most. Managers were unprofessional, they didn't attempt to get to know the customers when addressing the problems. It was a hustle for customers when it comes to any transactions inquired money withdrawing from their bank. I feel bad for the elderly customers didn't get the help they need at this location. Managers tend to deny and turn them away when they need to cash out their check.

back atm i was here around 8 22am n make a cash withdrawal but the last left atm higher atm machine was blurry cant see . i informed the security guard but gurss what he said it aint my job plus i bank with chase thr black old security men. i was like woh! normal security would b i will tell them when i enter the building sorry about it. so i knocked on the door there was an long hair asian mid 40s wearing maks blue mask she tell me to go to the back. Poor customer service. They are aware of the long line people are waiting at the teller and yet, still very slow service. They even take breaks and leave only one teller open. Tellers need to be trained well for the job. Speed up!!!

Every time I come here and need to talk to the bank teller, the line is always crazy long. My most recent time, was a weekend morning, and I waited over an hour to be seen. They only had one teller working for the personal inquiries and one other teller for business inquiries.

Add more staff to assist customers. Bank officials don't care about all of the bad reviews for the last 9 years. Majority of reviews are negative and low ratings. Only 3 good reviews in the last 9 years!!! Should tell customers and bankers admins something is wrong. Yes, I too am moving my business to another bank. Your bank admins don't care and it really shows. Customers should know that BOA doesn't care about the people. Customers deserve better service and respect for their business.

The line to teller is absolutely terrible!!!! I'm not joking by it felt like I spent half of my morning waiting in line for a teller. Can your branch please for the love of God and your customers precious time have more than just 2 tellers?! You guys seriously need more tellers!!!!

No one picks up the phone. Why is there not even an on hold function?? It just tries to call once and then hangs up. I know people are there too, and they just don't pick u. Cmon

I have been a BOA customer for over 30 yrs. Went in with my son to open his checking and Roth IRA accounts. Waited 15 minutes in the long line just for the check-in person to take down our reason for the visit. Waited another 10 minutes for Ms. Xu ( Merrill Lynch Financial Solution Advisor/ Assistant Vice President) according to her business card that she gave us to assist us. Afterward, she told us if there is any questions regards to these new accounts, feel free to call her. We called and left a voicemail with her on getting the routing number for the IRA account so that my son's employer can do a direct deposit from his paycheck. Ms. Xu never returned our phone call.

This may be a little bias since I dislike all bank of america (BoA) in general. The service is generally slower than other banks I have accounts with, and the services are beyond horrible. Never had I once had a mind changing experience from any chain of BoA. This chain in particular though, nobody greets you while you wait in line, or ask if there are anything they can help you with. Getting into the parking lot is impossible as well, not to mention the parking is tight and the drivers are a little crazy sometimes in that plaza parking lot. Yeah, its remodeled, the inside looks like a beverly hills version of a BoA (as in the nicest BoA I have seen, and I seen a lot), with brand new sofa and couch, tablet and all new counter and more.....but I didn't go to the bank to for their air condition or their couch. Nor did I go in to smell to roses, I am going to the bank to deposit - to run errands. I dont appreciate having to wait 15-30 minutes to be seen because they only have 2-3 bank tellers while other banks have more or have a faster or more friendly process. Get with it bank of america.

Everytime I come here to ask for help, before I finish what I want to say, the front desk is interrupt me and tell me no they can't help and they refuse to help. I don't understand, he doesn't even let me finish my speak. I just want to talk to the banker ask about some professional questions, and the front desk guy even don't give me a chance. Such terrible service quality. I should say there is none.

A remodeled bank but unsatisfied customers. -------- My mom and I went to BoA Saturday morning about an inquiry that we wanted to have addressed in regards to online fees. It's been years since I've been to this location so I was genuinely surprised to see the area remodeled to look fancy and modern. However this change came with a lot of customers stopping by the front desk for assistance because the teller's location was moved to another area that seemed discreet. Moving forward, we were waiting for about an hour for someone to assist us when we finally got called in by a Sharon Phua. Nice lady at first, she helped us through what we had asked originally but then the tables had turned as she started showing attitude towards my mother and at one point refused to service us longer, suggesting we talk to the manager instead. As my mom politely tried to explain her reasoning, Ms. Phua had told her to "shut her mouth, stop wasting her time, and to talk to her manager again". We were both disgusted with the change of mood but kept our composure in a professional manner. As we left the bank, both my mom and I agreed that as although what Ms. Phua did was incorrect, we thought she either had a bad day or had trouble getting her point across because it seemed as if there were problems communicating through language barriers. Nonetheless this experience is why I am giving this review a 1 star and I might even consider closing my account with the branch.

When I arrived at the door the man was extremely rude and dismissive trying to kick me out. He spoke to all the other clients respectfully in their language but not me. I do not understand why he was giving me attitude as soon as I walked in the door. Unfortunately, all the other bank of America's in the area are closed today so I have no other option but to waste my money here. Never again!

I went in today to seek assistance to set up online transfer because I had difficulty doing online. Hoping they can help me with set up. Unfortunately, that was too much to ask for from this branch. First, I walked up to the customer service counter and then was waiting for the 2 employees to finish their conversation before I ask them for assistance. Once they finished their conversation, one walked away, and the other stood there and didn't even acknowledge me. I had to greet her first, and then she asked what I needed assistance with. Wow, talk about friendly service! So I told her what I needed assistance with and she told me to do it online! I told her I had difficulty doing it online and was wondering if she could assist me. She said they can't assist with online banking issues!!! Really!!??? WTH!!! So needless to say, this branch didn't provide any service for me! It would've been ok if they were friendly and tried! No effort on that employee's part!!! I had way better experiences with other branches! This branch needs to train your staff to be more attentive and friendly!

I dislike going to the bank but this is probably the worse location ever. Parking is horrendous, 99% of the staff speaks Mandarin and very broken English, there is always like 2 tellers when the line is of about 30 people. Seriously...

Let me make it clear that this review is based on the ATM outside, at night time. It is well lit and I feel safe coming here. I've never gone inside during regular banking hours for face-to-face Bank telling.

The worse customer service ever. They don't even deserve a star. I have never dealt with a teller telling me the check must be spelt the exact letter by letter in order for them to deposit. I don't know why they even bother remodeling. They should of just torn it down.

30 minute wait in 90 degree plus weather to see a teller.. Branch doesn't seem concerned about their customers well being. You'd think they'd offer the bare minimum with waters or canopies outside for shade. Line extends around building due to COVID-19. Mind you majority of the people in line are 40-65+ years old. It doesn't seem right or fair for these people to be burning up in the sun outside with a face mask restricting air! My recommendation to anyone who needs to visit the branch, take an umbrella and a water it is that bad!

Worst teller customer service by far, all Chinese descendant, they are know for careless service, now here in Monterey Park! Do not waste your time stand in line, you will have a better experience with the ATM inside the bank than a actual person!

Racist racist racist ! I'm Hispanic and one teller told me they were hiring . She called up the manager for me and guess what she told me ? Because I'm not Asian I won't qualify to work here . Wow ! In shock ! This is AMERICA . They didn't even consider my work experiences or anything . Right away she saw I was Hispanic and told me to apply at another location . So Ridiculous. Plus their customer service sucks Here ! Don't go here especially if your not Asian! So racist !

The slowest bank I have ever been. People are a slow worker and a bad attitude to the customer. Management needs to be improved.

Wow. I am surprised this location doesn't have much reviews? I've only been here maybe about 2-3 times and all those times were at the ATM machines. WAY TOO CROWDED! Garvey Street is almost like Valley, a big street with many businesses and attractions and I guess this Bank of America is the only one on this street? This location is probably popular amongst Montery Park residents. Anyways, yea, a lot of people during the hours after people get off work. I remember coming here around the evening and there were lines for both the inside and outside ATMs. I suggest you drive down to the Bank of America on Almansor? Alhambra Street and Valley because this location is a parade of impatient Asian folks who eventually start yapping about how long it's taking.

Horrible excuse for a bank. The teller was extremely rude to my parents and forced an unwanted savings product (which comes with a low balance penalty fee) on my 77 year old mother. This was after a long wait for service similar to other reviews on this branch. When I tried to call four times to cancel on their behalf, it always says that everyone is busy. With what happened to Wells Fargo, you'd think that BofA will be a little bit more restrained. I will be filing an official complaint to the US Attorney's Office as well as BofA's Regional Office.

Service is very slow and it is getting worse. Not sure ifbthey are trying hard to fix this situation.

This bank does get very crowded. The traffic surrounding the area can get really congested as well. Parking is not ample and the lanes are tight. The driving abilities in the area are also very questionable. This is one of the few banks that exchange foreign currency! It is however very important to order ahead before arriving at the bank! Like a previous reviewer mentioned, some tellers don't speak English well and some are very soft spoken that it is difficult to hear what is going on. The managers here are wonderful and accommodating! They truly take time out to listen and advise you on any problems with your account that you may have. As a long time customer of BofA, the customer service that I recently received from this branch compared to another branch (Rosemead) makes me appreciate the management at MP.

Only 2 tellars..15 min I'm in line.... Still no help Then I was served by MEILYN !! :-) she took responsibility and was genuinely sorry. I watching one person count money for more than 10 minutes I'm not really sure why but this BofA needs to clearly mark their business section cuz I was standing in line for 5 minutes where it says business and then I realize its in another door way......two people snake me when I said excuse me I was in front of you in line they looked me up and down like we don't care... really polite.. And that's something the front person walking around or a bank manager should have taken care of or the teller I was standing in front of. SHE COULD have said she's been in line for 5 minutes she's going to be serviced before you, but yet I'm still standing here in line as I type this.

Besides tellers able to speak Cantonese or Mandarin to support the area Chinese residents, there's only 3 tellers on a Saturday and 2 that actually support the residential line! WTF the wait is so long

I'm really dissatisfied with This bank, they are not working on the same page for everyone has not been trained accurately each individual starting with customer service on the phone branch manager tellers etc tells different things they are not communicating among them well so I am change bank

This is literally the most worst branches I have been to. I have been a loyal member of the bank for 10 years and never have I experienced such a horrible time here. I had to come in physically in person because they never seem to answer their phone to make an appointment for a notary service. I was told that I would be able to see a notary public until Saturday morning at 9am. When I came to my appointment, they were double-booked and then I had to wait 30-45 minutes till I was able to be seen. Then when I was able to be seen by the notary person, Richard, he seemed very unsure about everything and extremely incompetent in helping. Richard raised his voice as me the entire time trying to get the message across that he would not notarize my forms. He also was very confused to begin with and went back to speak with his manager multiple times whenever he felt unsure about something, almost as if he could not think on his own. Richard cannot think on his own when it comes to critical thinking. He should not be doing this job if he has to depend on his manager for literally everything because he is scared of everything. I was so frustrated so I left and went to the Alhambra branch. Hands down, the Alhambra branch is filled with better and smarter managers. Everyone will try to help you and give satisfying customer service. Ce Shi the relationship manager was so amazing at the Alhambra branch. How come he had no problem with helping me and was extremely knowledgeable about everything but Richard from Monterey Park was clueless? Don't waste your time here at this branch. Richard is a completely incompetent and needs to be let go.

Super loved this one because, I was helped right away! There were SO MANY people both workers and customer alike! The line was very long but there were many people at the window as well. I was so happy because 2 people tried to help me here! BUT OVERALL the reason why I was here was because they did CURRENCY EXCHANGE! Not a 5? No one picked up, there was no direct line to someone which I thought was weird, it made me think that it was close. Luckily I went because I did my exchange here PLUS there was no transaction fee if its under $1000! YES! And they sell it for the same going price as CIX ! Thrilled & Ecstatic!

Made an appointment at 3:30, we arrived at 3:20 and already notify the front desk that we are here. But apparently some other people made appointment at 3 and arrived late to the place and the bank just let them cut in front of us and made us wait another 15 minutes. Personal banker name: Jae Zhang Please do not do any business with her I deposited $900 cash into ATM,but the ATM receipt only showed $300. I'm very confused about it, and then I walk into the bank after I check in I'm waiting about 1 hours to have a personal banker to help me with it. The personal banker name is Jae Zhang . After I told her this issue she did not say any word but just dial a number and ask me to talk someone over the phone,she did not look at me and walk away and then when we finished fail a claim over the phone she come back. Then we ask her questions she give us a attitude and very impatiently said "didn't I told you before?" This is extremely very very very bad service. I waited an hour to have someone assists and explain to me about the process,not just to give me attitude and ask me to call myself. I get treated very well when open account but when come back for Servise I get treated like a trash. Her name is Jae Zhang please do not do any business with her and I already file a compliant with the bank about her .

Yelp insists on no less than one star, so here is my one star short story. Yelp is too kind at times for the pathetic and ineffective in my opinion. My recent visits were on two consecutive Saturdays, September 12 and September 19. I was looking forward to opening a new checking account as my local branch of the bank I have had since 1997 announced the impending closure of the local branch I have used since 2000. When you walk into this branch on the weekends, Ronnie greets you and asks a few questions about the purpose of your visit. After a long forty minute wait, Kristen came up to Ronnie's podium, and took us back to her work station desk. She helped us to open a joint checking account. At the same time we also placed an order for checks. During the week of Sept 14 to 18, my lady gets an email confirmation of the check order, and her name is wrong on the order. So we made an appointment for 9:90 AM on Saturday September 19. We drove 122 miles from Bakersfield to Monterey Park to see a Personal Banking Representative and straighten this out. We walk in the south entrance, Ronnie greets us again. We tell him about our problem and ask to speak with the manager. Ronnie sends us over to a representative whose name I do not recall. After we talked to her for a few minutes, she calls Ronnie over, and asked for Kristen's phone number. She calls Kristen and a few minutes later Kristen appears. Ronnie ushers us over to Kristen's desk and say she will help us. I stood up and told Ronnie, and I quote" with all due respect Sir, we do not want Kristen helping us, as she has already fouled this up, and we need to talk to the manager". Ronnie did not reply, he just turned away and went back to his podium. I know he heard me, I was two to three feet from him and looking into his face when I said it. So we were forced by the DGAF Ronnie to be helped by the inept Kristen. My core problem with this whole deal is the "take it or leave it" style of Ronnie when it comes to customer service. My girl is much more forgiving to these people, and she has two business accounts here, and now two personal accounts also, counting this one. If it was me, I would have closed ALL accounts and told them to kiss my ass. ALL of my girl's account are from this Garvey location. If anyone reading this wonders why we are coming here from Bakersfield, it is because the Chinese speakers here. The industry in which I am employed is a service based industry, and neither me nor ANY of our employees would turn and walk away without addressing a customer's questions or concerns. And access to a manager, or even the manager's boss, other "higher ups" is encouraged when a problem occurs, not DENIED. Kristen should be trained to verify information with account holders. And if Ronnie is to be "face" of Bank of American 110 Garvey Avenue in Monterey Park, then he needs some training too. He needs to be sensitive and responsive to the customer's needs, and stop it with the "take or leave it " customer service he practices.To you Bank of America- without us customers, what you have is a nice piece of real estate, some furnishings, and a bunch of computers, EDIT 10/05/2015 I returned to this branch on Saturday October 3rd, and I am happy to say this account is CLOSED. Yes Ronnie, with your "take it or leave it" style of customer service, we have chosen to leave it. I really wanted to tell you to kiss my ass, but I did not, out of respect for the other customers. There were ladies, children, and older folks. My girl still has two credit cards and a checking account here, and I will work on her to get those closed too. She has already agreed to close one of the credit card accounts, just waiting for the bill, get balance to zero, and close. I will make it my business, no my fucking crusade to influence her to entirely stop doing business with this sorry excuse for a bank.

This bank has 10 windows but only open 3 windows on a busy day. I had to wait in line for 30 minutes before speaking to a teller. This is ridiculous and I will not be using this bank in the future.

I went and used their atm machines today. I've been in only once years back and it was always a busy location just like it was today. It's right on Garvey and centrally located in the heart of Monterey Park next to shops. Parking is okay as people tend to come in and leave constantly. Make sure to go at a time other than lunch or past 3pm on weekdays etc to avoid lines and crazy traffic.

Not my favorite Bank Of America. My mom comes here and I've tried convincing her to switch to Wells Fargo, but she remains a loyal BofA customer. If it weren't for my dad, I think she would have switched accounts already. Anyhow.... You will always wait in a line here. Doesn't matter what time of day, they are always busy and the parking lot. Foegetaboutit! People backing out all willy nilly. Dodging people walkin out of the place in either a Sunday stroller pace or the occasional bat outta hell. Also, customer service might be a little hit or miss. I've had some instances where the woman at the check in table goes above and beyond to answer my question before seeing one of the "bankers" that sit at the desks. On one instance in particular I overheard one of the managers respond rather rudely to one of the employees who was merely asking a question for a customer. Conclusion? After a couple wack experiences, my mom has learned to go to a different location. Phew!

This goes out to the Bank Teller section. Business line needs to have more than one person servicing. It's sad when the standard line is quicker than the business line. The managers need to step up their game or be replaced. You cannot have the tellers stand and chit-chat when there is a line. Not blaming the tellers but the managers need to go back to training.

The worst customer service for B of A I was told to see a guy by the customer service and he was talking to a guy about where he's from and did not know or even knowledge I was there then he walk by without even asking do you need some help after 10 minutes talking to the guy about his life. He here to help not talk about his life story, the worst store I have been.

I came here to ask to solve my problem. But guess what, I get nothing back beside an attitude. You should grateful that because customer like me that you can have this job & sit on AC office. If you don't like your job, quit it. Stop wasting your company money.

I came here in the middle of a Thursday afternoon. As I entered, a confused-looking man awkwardly blocked my way just so he could greet me and ask what I wanted to do. I'm afraid I shot him a "DUH" look as I said, "Oh, I just want to deposit my check." He said, "Oh, okay!" and pointed toward the line of two people. As always, the pen at the deposit slip counter was very nice. However, the wait was not. There were only three tellers available to everyone in line, but three others just sitting or talking with one another (It may have been important, but the line was getting longer by the minute!). With nothing else to do, I just observed each transaction from afar. One lady was trying to withdraw money, and I overheard her saying that she had never had an issue before. It took them forever to give her her cash, poor lady. She was there before I got in line and there after my transaction. The other two transactions were just so darn slow, as well. When it was finally my turn, the teller didn't even prompt me to swipe my card! And after I gave her my deposit slip and check, another teller gave her a bunch of 100's and she just did her own mini-transaction WHILE I was still waiting for her! Oh, the audacity of that girl! What usually is a one-minute transaction took two minutes, and although that shouldn't be a big deal, it really was, because I had waited in line for much longer than usual, too! And where's the diversity at this bank?! Almost everybody is Asian and middle-aged. Where are the younger folks for customers such as myself? The only good thing about this bank is its "waiting area," which has several couch seats and a television. Other than that... Worst and slowest BoA I have been to.

Works bank customer service ever, i know they get busy sometimes so I made an appointment, with an appointment I still waited more than an hour, that guy tryna look like a model don't know nothing about his job.

The only reason why I'm giving them a 3 is because my family and I have my account with BOA for many years and have been satisfied for the most part. There was only one encounter I had that made my banking experience with this branch VERY disappointing. There's a "Greeter" there, Thomas, who is the most impolite, rude and condescending worker I have ever experienced not just with this bank but with ALL of the banks I have ever banked with. He gave us wrong information regarding overdraft protection plan. Let me tell you people, there IS such a thing to opt out of overdraft protection. In fact, it's against the law to NOT to have an option to do so. Thomas, however, somehow did not know this. We asked him a simple question of how to opt out, he told us, "you cannot opt out! only prima members can have this option" while raising his hand to our face several times! It felt like we had to FIGHT just to ask a question and comment! Insulted, I took his misleading information and went to corporate, and guess what? Yes, you can opt out. I spoke to a competent rep and was opted OUT of overdraft protection in a matter of minutes. Thomas wasted our time, and if it were not for the long standing relationship my family and I have with the bank, we would not be banking here. It's too bad, we've decided to send a lovely notice to corporate about the quality of Thomas's customer service. If anyone needs to get fired, this guy is the best candidate.

Be aware folks, if you decide to bank, bank else where... the staff at BofA are not that friendly at all. They don't even speak clear English. It would be helpful to the business if BofA got there act together...

I swear this BOA is never not busy. There's always a line for the ATM and insane lines inside the branch. It is nice that they have a bilingual staff here to accommodate their giant Chinese clientele base.

I am here in a Monday afternoon. Line is super long and nobody cares to open up a new teller. Not enough staff and nothing is getting done. Next time, go to other branches.

This is the slowest bank I've ever been to! I have been in line with 26 other people for 28 minutes and still have several in front of us. There are only 2 tellers working and they won't open an additional window.
