Bankerhan Hotel

Great location, but overall a mediocre experience. The good: perfect location to explore Galata and Karaköy or pick up the tram, friendly staff, solid breakfast spread, decent view from the higher floors The not-so-good: cleanliness (floor in my room had that gritty dirty feeling), a non-working showerhead, air-conditioning option was not enabled on my thermostat so I had to choose between either a very warm room or street noise and smells from an open window. Also, as other reviewers have mentioned / as is fairly clear from photos online, the bathrooms only separated with a lightly frosted glass partition and in my particular room the door was not even frosted - something to keep in mind if privacy is a concern.

We were in Istanbul with friends for a celebration, and effectively took over the hotel. The staff were all incredibly helpful, working with us through the planning of the events, and even helping out with some immediate problem solving when we needed ice at 1 in the morning!||The rooms are all different, but all very clean and comfortable. The location can't be beat: the hotel is in Karakoy, but only a little bit up the hill, making it an easy struggle when returning to the hotel after a long evening out enjoying the city. Having stayed in several hotels in Istanbul on past trips, the Bankerhan will be my go-to hotel for return visits.

Mid range comfortable hotel very near the Galata Tower, good value as it gets in Istanbul. I booked direct on their website after checking prices and got the best deal. Rooms are very small but you have enough space as long as you keep tidy! Beds are very comfortable with lovely cotton sheets. In room safe and tv. The best thing was breakfast with lots of homemade food, eggs, fruit, breads olives, cheese etc plus lots of other stuff and very nice ladies in the kitchen keeping it stocked up because people linger over it. Reception staff are helpful if you want taxis or recommendations. |I only have a couple of criticisms. In our 4 night stay we had to ask for our room to be made up twice because it was forgotten. You are supposed to get a tea tray which we had to ask for several times on arrival, and even then the housekeeper kept taking it away. You get a mini bar but only water on the day of arrival which seems a bit skimpy for a hotel of this grade. However, overall a very comfortable stay.

Shout out to Ms. Zeynep who went beyond and outsourced support to ensure a pleasant experience during my stay. She coordinated van services, medication pick-up, and all around an approachable attitude to ensure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay.|I also want to acknowledge that the room was top notch! The bed was comfortable with fluffy pillows. It was so relaxing each time I came back to the hotel to simply relax. So incredible!|Thank you once again Ms. Zeynep!!!!!

The exceptional room service and delicious, fresh breakfast contributed to an overall outstanding experience. This Istanbul hotel provided the most tranquil and relaxing atmosphere I have encountered. Its prime location and the staff's exceptional service further enhanced the stay. The hotel cultivated a strong sense of community, with all staff members demonstrating kindness and attentiveness. VIP transfers were consistently punctual, and Zeinep expertly managed all appointments.

I had a great stay! |My room was spacious with a cool industrial style, with a good fridge, shower, bed and air con (only wish there was an English speaking channel that wasn't the news!). The hotel is located in a nice area that feels very safe and is about a 10 minute walk from a high street filled with shops and food options. ||The breakfasts were really nice and I felt well accommodated for as a vegan - they even got in oat milk for me! There's not a restaurant on site but there's a room service menu online that gets delivered from other places and it has a huuuuuuge range of choices with everything you could need and it's not super expensive.||The staff were amazing! The guys on reception were polite, and the housekeeping staff were super lovely and smiley. The Manager, Zeynep, was a superstar! She really looked after me during my stay, checked how I was doing, answered any questions, organised taxis, and even took a friend and I on a trip into the city on the trams! She was a wonderful host and couldn't have been more helpful.||I would definitely stay here again! Thanks for everything :) XXXXX

Taxi can’t drop off right in front of the hotel, you need to climb up the staircase which is not suitable if you have a lot of luggage or big suitcases. The room is quite dark and not convenient for doing make up at all. Not recommended for women. Staff were helpful and kind.

I stayed here about 9 days to recover from surgery and the staff were very helpful. My room was clean and I had enough room to fit all my stuff. The hotel itself is in walking distance to about 20 restaurants, and tourist shops. They can arrange transportation if you need it for the airport, very friendly people. I think the rooms were reasonably priced as well. All around a positive stay.
