Walked in on a Sunday night and instantly felt like I'd time-traveled to a better, grimier era. Think sticky floors, walls that have seen decades of spilled whiskey and sweat, and a jukebox (or maybe just a speaker in the ceiling?) blasting everything from Dead Kennedys to Bad Brains. It's beautiful.
They've got a $9 drink + shot special that absolutely rules. I mean, where else are you gonna get a decent pour and a shot without feeling like you're being robbed in this economy? It's the kind of place where the bartender doesn't give you a side eye for ordering well whiskey -- they expect it.
Crowd's a mix of old-school punks, regulars who've clearly claimed their barstools, and the occasional curious wanderer who either instantly falls in love or leaves after 10 minutes. My kind of people.
This isn't the place for craft cocktails or quiet conversation. It's for shouting over The Misfits, making new friends you'll forget the names of, and stumbling out smelling like beer and nostalgia.
If you're into clean bathrooms and cocktail menus with herbs, move along. But if you want a real dive bar with attitude, heart, and cheap liquor, Bank Tavern is your new spot.
