Tried their Shina Soba. The portion size was perfect and not too pricey. The soup was super light but so flavorful, and the noodles had a nice chewy texture. It can get busy, but the wait wasn’t bad at all. The area is a bit narrow for parking, so we parked nearby and walked for about 5 minutes. There are free parking spaces around, so no problem finding a spot.

Probably the best known place in Kitakata for breakfast ramen, and more than lived up to its reputation. I arrived around 7:20 in the morning and didn’t have to wait, service was friendly and the English menu was very helpful. The atmosphere inside was great, it still feels like a very old-school local kind of place despite their popularity. I usually prefer the heavier more flavourful kinds of ramen, but the basic Kitakata style ramen I had was fantastic, with some of the best chashu I’ve had, and it really set me up for a day of travelling. The combination of the food and atmosphere made it probably my favourite eating experience of this Japan trip.

Most delicious Kitakata ramen of my life. Visited around 11:30 and there was no queue, however, in a matter of minutes, the line was out the door. Simple menu, delicious food. Would go again!

Ramen was amazing here! Came for breakfast and there was no queue but the place is pretty well known. Soup was clear and noodles were not soggy. Definitely recommend trying this out.

As we are around Kitakata area, we had to stop by Bannai Shokudo to try their popular kitakata ramen. There was a queue already once we reached there, glad it was not too long. I ordered the B menu. Not my thing but it was still tasty.
