I was admitted to the hospital and stayed there 7 days. As awful as being in the hospital is Mikeyla and Tommy made my stay More enjoyable! They always had a smile on their face and were looking to be helpful and cheer me up in every Way. Tommy is a day Nurse and Mikeyla is a night Nurse 😊. Dr. Misha and Nurse J were amazing and Matti as well as Elizabeth they were the nurses assistants. Thank you guys for all your help and being amazing at your job! You really seem like you enjoy what you do. Thanks guys for everything

I had my baby on July 25, 2025, and stayed in the hospital until July 27, 2025. I was in room 476 on the 4th floor. I honestly have nothing but good things to say about my experience at Banner University Hospital. Not only were my labor nurses amazing, but the students (with my permission) who came in to assist me with my legs as I pushed for what felt like forever were also incredibly supportive. The residents and everyone else I interacted with were so nice and helpful. I cannot express enough gratitude for all the nurses who cared for me postpartum. They made me a Mommy mocktail and never made me feel stupid for all my questions. As a new mom, I had a lot of questions, and they patiently answered every one of them. When the lactation team came in, that was a great experience too! They provided me with so much information and helped me with different breastfeeding positions. I felt safe and well cared for by the nurses, doctors, and staff in general. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Harvey and all the nurses who assisted me from labor to postpartum. I could honestly cry thinking about how amazing my experience at Banner University Hospital was. Thank you to everyone for being so kind to us. ❤️ I wish I could remember all the nurses' names, but they know who they are!

I rarely leave reviews but want to acknowledge the amazing team that supported me through L&D, ultimately undergoing a C-section, postpartum, and my son's brief NICU stay. The nurses in each department were all so attentive and sweet and we felt so much support from lactation consultants speech therapy, as well as mine and the baby's physicians.

I'm in the EMU (epilepsy monitoring unit) All nurses and Dr's are amazing. One nurse stood out to me. Daniel, he's amazing! Very friendly, makes you feel at ease.

I have nothing but positive experience here. I had surgery and the pre-surgery staff was excellent. The nurse who brought me back was kind and friendly. All the doctors who came in prior were informative and made sure all my questions were answered. The post-op care was just as good. The nursing staff took care of me. When I used the call button they came in a timely manner. I do have to say the night and day staff seem to do things differently. Like they were supposed to look in the restroom to measure my output and evening didn't do it, but day did. Things like that. When it came time to leave, the discharge instructions were give to me and they made sure I understood and answered my questions. They took me out via wheelchair. I have had infusions done and their infusion center is awesome. The nurses made sure I had everything I needed including water and food. This would be my place to go if I need infusions.

The Maternity ward of all places..... not very family friendly. Only one or two kind nurses the rest need to go back to bed and get up on the other side. Meal schedule for the patients is bizarre. Oh and wasn't fond of the roaches we saw crawling under the drink area in the cafeteria.

After over 3 hours waiting for someone/anyone to check on me and take blood, doctor informs me that my bloodwork looked good. I informed the doctor that no one has drawn any blood. He had a puzzled look on his face, no response to the fictional bloodwork and told me my EKG looked fine. After 4 hours, the tech came by to register me and get my insurance info. Gave them the info and walked out. The only positive was I received an EKG quickly due to chest pain. Will never come back to this hospital or their ER!!!

Google
MRI experience was so-so. Check-in required 1.5 hours early 😔 but I was ready in 30 minutes and called back early 👍. IV placement was painless, and the MRI tech was excellent. Major accuracy issues, though: They didn’t record my actual height or weight—leading to a body surface area (BSA) error of over 7%. Breath-holds elevated my heart rate by more than 11.5%, which skewed low-flow cardiac calculations that are critical for my condition. Total result was off by 18.5%, enough to falsely appear low-"normal", shifting clinical focus and making me seem healthier than I am. It took extensive digging (and AI help) to uncover the error, and now I’m stuck trying to get my doctor to take the correction seriously—unfortunately, in my experience, they rarely admit mistakes. To earn 5 stars: 1. Accurately measure and record patient height and weight. 2. Adjust for breath-hold effects—or better, use average EKG heart rate during the scan for sensitive measurements.

Yelp
I've been at this facility since June 14th & in the hospital overall since my birthday on June 12th. I've been receiving top notch care and treated like a VIP! This facility is one of the best in the nation. Kudos to them and the University of Arizona! BEAR DOWN! I am receiving care that is unlike anything I have ever gone through, as I am a "hospital rookie". I will be having surgery eventually as well and once again, I am in good hands! The staff here has great office and bedside manners and experience. I recommend this hospital for your healthcare needs.

Yelp
I recently stayed the week at Banner University doing a EMU EEG. I was really nevous coming in and I can't say all the precautions made it any easier but logically it is needed. From the morning RN, to monitoring techs, night shift RN and even transportation I saw on the last day; Were professional, very compassionate and empathetic listeners. Doctor Murphy was knowledgeable and went above beyond typical in and out doctor. He sat for moment each time he came and helped me process everything I was being told and answered my questions, he cares. The dietician were supposed to bring coupons for ensure and very came back . The type of care you will receive on the 16th floor of 1 tower is excellent. Thank you !

Yelp
Anyone who complains about the care at this hospital is selfish, needy, or has never been in healthcare. The type of care this hospital consistently provides is way beyond what I've ever seen before and I will continuously drive hours out of my way to attend this hospital specifically. Banner University has the best care providers you will find

Yelp
I had surgery at 10:30 am and was in recovery around 11:10am. I stayed in that Bay until 5:00pm, as there weren't any rooms ready for me. (I was supposed to stay over night) I hadn't eaten anything the day before and was starving and a bit sick to my stomach i was so hungry, so around 2pm, the nurse ordered food for me. 5:00 the food still had not shown up. Around 3:00 I was told they found a room but it had to be cleaned and it would be about an hour. 5:00 the room was still not ready for me. By this time I was very anxious and getting upset about everything. The on-call doctor came in and called about the room and was told that it still needed to be cleaned and it would be about an hour before it was ready. Really??? 7 hours in the recovery room, no food, no room. I ended up leaving the hospital. I could get better care there, eat and no stress. My Doctor and Team were awesome. The nurses in recovery were good, except they never checked on the food or room, after they saw my anxiety going high. I think someone should talk to Administration about this issue

Yelp
After my experience in San Francisco, I thought healthcare couldn't get much worse.  On September 4, 2023, I visited this location at the behest of a staff member from Paz de Cristo when she & I were discussing what hospital I should visit for healthcare while in Arizona. Unfamiliar with the unforgiving terrain & climate that Arizona plays host to, I made the mistake of taking a day nap without finding proper shade on a metal surface. The results are exactly what you would expect. My skin was absolutely cooked, & the parts of my body that weren't touching metal were severely sunburnt. I thought since I had on clothing (pants, shoes, shirts, etc.) that I wasn't in any danger, but my hypothesis was incorrect.  Upon visiting this location, the diagnosis I was given by the ER receptionist was simple: "This isn't an emergency, but we'll see what we can do."  I tried explaining the state of my finances & how the burns all over my body were hindering my ability to live, but my grievances were dismissed. "Take a seat & wait" was the response that I received. Which I did. For hours. Finally, after seeing person after person being seen, I decided I had enough & left.  I struggled through the next few weeks while my skin healed, & I vowed never to return to Banner again. This was changed to all healthcare services in Arizona after visiting the dentist, but that review has already been written.  Arizona has a pretty large issue that requires resolution concerning what is or isn't considered an emergency or an essential service. The power that healthcare providers have over civilians is tyrannical. From my experience, if you're impoverished or a minority, expect nothing.     If you're looking to visit this location during your MLB or NBA fan experience, I strongly suggest against it. Overall, this place is not the best place to go if you're of African descent. As you can see from my other reviews, I have not had the most pleasant experiences lately. However! At great personal risk to myself, I write these reviews based on my experiences so that others will benefit from the experiences that I have. I encourage others to SPEAK UP! Your voice can assist others in avoiding potentially detrimental situations, & as always, do your own research!

Yelp
Went to ER back in March. I had full blown body rash and peeing blood. My derm sent me there saying there was a dermatologist on site as most ERs do not. I called their ER dept and asked if there is a dermatologist on site as my current derm said they do. I was told yes. Got there after a 45 min drive around 11pm. The place wasn't too busy ,sign in was easy. It was the wait which was 5-6hours. Apparently unbeknownst to all of us waiting, they were waiting on a shift change 6am. wtf? . I get it but while I'm suffering and waiting I look around and this place is effing nasty! Spoiled tissue paper lying around in tables and chairs. Everywhere. No lie. Everything looked disheveled. A man and his wife came in cuz he was sick. He sat there in front of me and my husband and literally puked. I could smell It and see it. Gross. I thought for sure someone would come right away and clean it up, nope! It took 10 long minutes for someone to clean it. How ratchet is that? The poor guy didn't even get called back. He sat there hacking and just being miserable with the rest of us. Once I get in back, I'm told they don't have a dermatologist. I said I called and someone in the ER said u do. Well they take a pee sample which is looking like black coffee that's how much blood I was peeing. A supposed nurse came to talk to me about being hydrated cuz dehydration can cause this blah blah. It's not from being dehydrated you dumb a$$, it's blood. Doc came in and said he couldn't help me with the rash. He doesn't know. He did say he sent my pee to the lab and results take a few days, I'm bleeding but he doesn't know from where and send me off . Waste of my effing time. Left sad and crying as I'm still in pain. Few days later I get a call back saying I have an infection. No $hit? I hope y'all fired the nurse who said it was from being dehydrated. Kiss mine . I do NOT recommend this ER, and if this is how the ER is, I'm. not taking chances with any of that hospital. I went to banner del Webb a week later and was hospitalized for sepsis due to the infection. They are awesome! PS fave them one star rating cuz zero is not an option.

Yelp
This review is specifically for their maternity department as my wife and I just had our first child. I seriously cannot say enough good things about Banner University. Our nurse in labor and delivery was named Janelle and she was absolutely phenomenal! You can tell that she has a true passion for what she does and she made our experience so memorable! The doctor who helped deliver our baby was named Elizabeth and once again she was amazing too. Their labor and delivery rooms are very spacious with a couch which was awesome. I am so thankful for Janelle as she truly set the tone for the overall wonderful experience. Just a heads up that after labor and delivery when they transfer you to the postpartum rooms, these rooms are very small with limited space. I would say this was probably the only negative we had. The postpartum nurses were very sweet and helpful as well. As mentioned earlier in the review, I cannot say enough good things about this place and the experience that we had. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
Awful experience for our father. Too many things to mention. Some of the staff were great some not so great. Dad never even got bathed or cleaned the week he was there. The ICU ran out of gowns. He had a do not incubate and we caught them trying to put a feeding tube down him which just made him bleed everywhere. Just a horrid experience.

Yelp
Getting into the ER piece of cake. Once admitted you are in an altered reality. Husband was NPO for three days for a needle biopsy when he did not need to be and until I questioned it. He is still waiting for an MRI after 4 days. Elevators in tower 2 do not work. Who ever designed this tower with long, long hallways and circular nurses stations should be hung. Nurses okay but do not question anything they are told. Maybe they need to? I will never take my husband there again!!

Yelp
I was scheduled for an endoscopy Dec 18 2023. Prior to the procedure, my Aetna One Advocate and I contacted Banner via conference call in order to acquire the applicable CPT code for the procedure. Banner University Medical Center Phoenix provided CPT code 43235. The Aetna One Advocate disclosed to Banner this was being done on a recorded line. The patient responsibility was to be $362.00. Following this bit of due diligence I had the procedure completed. 30 days post procedure I receive a bill from Banner University Medical Center Phoenix for $2,246.80. I filed an appeal again using the Aetna One Advocate to call Banner with me to start the process. Banner University Medical Center then disclosed they used a different CPT code (43239) then provided. I would not of had this procedure completed at your facility if this information was disclosed prior to the procedure. I have escalated this issue with the gastroenterologist as well. UPDATE 8.5.24: This was Banner's reply. "Thank you for this feedback. Our Billing Department will reach out to assist you once you complete and submit this secure form with requested information: https://www.bannerhealth.com/feedback. I followed the instructions above and have never heard back from Banner. They state they will reach out to assist , but I got zero response.

Yelp
Worse experience ever! Go to Mayo if you want compassionate care and knowledge staff.

Yelp
My favorite is when you go the ER; they put you in a room with an IV in next to a bunch of other sick people while they wait for your room. Office staff is a mixed bag. Some are very nice; some are very rude. Came back that I had pneumonia and Covid, so why was I around a bunch of other sick people? Care quality is questionable at best.

Yelp
I unfortunately have been in quite a few hospitals across the nation and this was absolutely the worst hospital I ever had the unfortunate hospital to stay for almost 2 weeks. A week in the I.C.U. and two of those nights I had no call button. A day nurse told me that they couldn't find one either so I suffered through the two night's. This was where my Dr. was though so no choice. I eventually checked myself out. The nursing staff with the exception of 2 were awful. So many mishaps to list. All of my nurses, day and night with the exception of maybe 3 were in there twenty's and some had no common sense, same with the helpers. Food was always cold when served. Worst experience ever!!! Came home with a nasty bedsore.

Yelp
Amazing, wonderful, positive experience with the Maternity nurses and staff. Husband and I went into labor 12/15/23, and delivered 12/16/23. This was our first labor and delivery experience and as new parents-to-be, we were understandable nervous. Our labor nurse was Spring, and she was phenomenal! Words cannot express how her professionalism, warmth, compassion, and kindness were top notch quality service. Spring watched over us every step of the way. The other nurses who supported us throughout postpartum were also so kind, understanding, professional, and helpful. Our nurses included Spring, Ruby, Marilyn, Lauren, Cassie Marie, Grace, and Aubrey. Our PCA's included Jessica, Marky, and Esmerelda. The care and quality of service from every single person we interacted with was quality, professional, and warm. We had such a great labor experience.

Yelp
So I had the unfortunate event of having to come here today. I haven't been to this hospital in many years. I have to say I was very impressed with how well the flow was and how they were running it. Someone was walking around passing around ice and blankets, it was very clean inside. I got called to do labs, X-rays ekg all within about a 30 minute span, I was taken back into a room. The nurse was pleasant and the Dr was awesome. Such a better experience than I had recently at Estrella and Thunderbird. Not that I was happy to be here but I was happy with the care I received.

Yelp
Arrived at the main entrance around 1am deep in labor with my second child. My spouse and I were attempting to get to the emergency room but contractions had me stopping every minute. A K9 police officer had just pulled up as we arrived and offered immediate assistance and ran to grab us a wheelchair and escorted us to L&D. Upon arrival at L&D Triage, I was quickly checked in and admitted. An IV was started and I was wheeled to an L&D room. Not even 10 minutes after arriving to the room the anesthesiologist arrived to administer the epidural and less than an hour after that I had my baby! Later in the postpartum unit, the transfer of information from the L&D nurses to the postpartum nurses was thorough and informative and the rest of my postpartum stay was smooth and as enjoyable as those first 24 hours after having a baby can be lol. I truly wish I had had the presence of mind to get the names of everyone that helped me get checked in and get my baby here safely. Thank you to the wonderful officer as well as all the triage, L&D and postpartum nurses working during my stay on 5/24/24-5/25/24. You all were amazing!

Yelp
The care is a little too irritating. My wife is dealing with high blood pressure during pregnancy. The thing that doesn't help is the different nurses we get every time. Some are very inexperienced and cause problems for my wife as she is trying to rest and get sleep but the monitoring of her is making her stressed out. I guess we don't need sleep and need to get our vitals all fucking day. Not much care if it is irritating her and getting the baby upset. GREAT JOB!!!

Yelp
I am new to the Phoenix area. Retired Emergency Room Registered nurse for over 30+ years I. California. My first visit to the banner emergency room was last Thursday, the 11th of April, when my son had an anaphylaxis reaction and was brought in via 911 from a nearby restaurant. As a retired nurse, I observed that the triage nurses were not worried about aby patients waiting at the waiting room, including my son. Colleagues' socialization and phone socialization were their priority. When my son was finally roomed, the lady that called him in was very rude, delivering information about the visitors' policy. She wasn't a nurse, I guess an ER tech of some kind. She shouted at my daughter un law in a confronting way as she was the medical director of the ER or owner of the place. No patient's care manners whatsoever and had an attitude of " I don't give a ....who you are or what's your problem is", very condescending attitude and zero interest in helping us. The ER doctor was fantastic, great manners, and keeping us updated with procedures and results. I was surprised with the ER tech that practically acted as "primary nurse." He was the first one after the ER doctor at the bedside, and I started my sons IV, labs, and performed bedside lab before we even meet the primary nurse "Maria" who was fine but very little interaction with the patient as a primary nurse. The ER Tech asked more questions than the primary nurse did. He had an RN attitude until I introduced myself as a retire ER RN, and my daughter in law who was present is a physician as well. We never saw him again. X rays tech and CT scan personnel were fantastic. Nurses in the back were chilling in their cubicle and I wad warned before " if you want to wait motr that 6 hrs or die, just go to Banner ER" but I couldn't believe it until I experience the visitor part of my first and hopefully last visit to this hospital.

Yelp
I have a lot of history with this institution, including being a department director there for ten years and recently getting a heart transplant. ED Efficient, well trained, calmative, supportive. Seating is ample, but the chairs could be more comfortable. Waiting is variable depending on your health conditions time/day of week, etc. They could use some form of distraction for waiting patients. Once in an ED bed, the doctor is prompt, nurses not so much. Call button requests can take over 30 minutes. Transport Excellent -- pleasant, well trained transporters who seem to enjoy their work. Prompt, friendly and outgoing. Nursing -- possibly the best nursing team in the country. Competent, caring, overworked but always cheerful. Amazing. Phlebotomy - Most are skilled and draw blood with minimal pain. Medical Staff - routinely pleasant, appear very competent, communicate well, appear to care. Radiology -- efficient, humorous, try to make the experience pleasant. Dietary - Absolutely the worst food service I'experienced. Trays are often late, cold foods warn, hot foods cold, selection severely limited, sloppy service forgetting items requested consistently. I wonder if any of the cooks have actually tried to eat the chicken? I've broken several knives trying to cut it. It tastes very much like cardboard covered in chalk. Turns to dust when you chew it (If you can). I know it can be done better -- Look up Monroe's Hospital in Colorado -- their food is rated as some of the best in town. For Banner, Dietary is an acute embarrassment. Great for weight loss - you won't eat it. Discharge -- LOUSY process, can take 6 hours from when your doctor releases you to when you actually leave.

Yelp
July 7th, 2024 at 1650 I met my daughter at Banner University ER. The male nurse that came into the ER room to start an IV on my daughter he also had a set-up for the patient next to her on the other side of the curtain. He came in with gloves on and proceeded to start IV on the patient next to us once he was done he came to my daughter with the same pair of gloves on! I told him no you need to wash your hands and change your gloves before you continue to start my daughters IV. He got mad! Told me that it did not matter because what will come into contact with her is inside the package I told him no!! Anytime you leave a patient you need to always wash or sanitize your hands between patients and wash or sanitize hands before putting gloves on and after taking gloves off. I really did not like his attitude I work at a hospital and I know for fact what the protocol is for hygiene between patients. The patient he helped first before my daughter she was throwing up, and the nurse had the audacity to try and care for my child without washing/sanitizing his hands!!!! This is serious and needs addressing.

Azdreams C.

Yelp
They don't seem to care about the Hispanic population at all. I was scheduled to deliver my daughter there and the nurse accused my mother in law of giving ne drugs and threw her out in the rain. I didn't getcaby pictures or videos abd will forever remember this day as unhappy. This labor department needs to be investigated

Courtney K.

Yelp
Sarah in the ER, butterfingers with the equipment could not keep any of it out of the trash. Literally dropped injectables in the trash fished them out in front of us to use them on my husband, could not seem to manage her room letting one needy patient dominate every time she entered and then getting visibly bothered by her and storming out before checking on anyone else. I had to ask after an hour and half of having the IV hookup in my husbands arm what they're plan was since she had been so attentive to our neighbor who arrived after us and only then did she seem to remember she had any other responsibilities in that room and that seemed to just amp up her poor bedside manner. When they did finally start taking in information about why we visited their prejudice against tattoos and marajuana use were overwhelmingly evident. We did not feel comfortable or welcome in the space at all especially after repeatedly stating the answers to questions and then being asked again as if the first answer didn't align with their preconceived notions and therefore weren't valid. When describing sever symptoms far beyond the common acid reflux that can be associated with marajuana use they kept oversimplifying the matter and coming back to this or insisting on other drugs clearly not present on the blood tests they took. Even when confronted with a long standing family history of these issues going back several generations, this is all they wanted to discuss as the cause. By far this has been the most demoralizing experience in health care for our family. Not one person here made an effort, put in the bare minimum, or expressed any interest in uncovering the root issues here. If you're on drugs looking to talk about them I suggest going here, if you're looking for answers to life's big questions and improved health maybe try literally anywhere else.

Yelp
I went in last night for severe pelvic pain. I was vomiting as I spoke with the registrar. The registrar attitude was abhorrent. I was casted away by staff and told I would be called back when a bed was ready. Every single person I spoke with was extremely rude. The security guard was kind. You would think people who are in healthcare would be empathetic but boy was I wrong. I understand they are understaffed but when a patient shows up with severe symptoms their symptoms should be addressed. I went to Chandler Regional and was greeted kindly by staff and taken back immediately upon arrival. Avoid banner, as their quality of care is absolutely horrible.

Aimee Z.

Yelp
I've had two experiences here and both have been bad. If you can try to go to a different hospital please do it. This second time I went, we weren't even seen by a doctor. Waited so long to the point that I had to leave and they just smirk. Registration is really rude. The first time was the type of care my sister received in the labor and delivery. Pick a different hospital is all I'm going to say.

Matthew H.

Yelp
Excellent care, fast service good doctors and nurse stafff here. I would definitely recommend

Morgan G.

Yelp
I had a baby here this week and the residents have no clue what they are doing, they did my epidural in the wrong spot so it had to be redone by a real dr. They inserted the cook balloon used to induce labor wrong so I was in labor an extra day that could have been avoided. Just do yourself a favor and ban all residents from your treatment if you have to use this hospital and avoid this hospital if you have the option. Not impressed with their cafeteria for it to be newer, the nurses are also subpar at best. Out of 5 days in that hospital I had probably about 10 different nurses out of the 10 I'd say 2 were actually friendly and attentive. The rooms felt a lot cleaner than I expected but that's the only positive thing I have to say about this experience at banner university unfortunately.

Yelp
Turned my friend away on June 4th 2024 before he could be admitted for "failure to thrive" according to his pain doctor who told me to take him to emergency. He was malnutritional and they wouldn't let him have food for 7seven hours causing him to become irritable. The charge nurse used this against him and said he was belligerent. He wasn't belligerent. This was an excuse to get rid of 1 of the 57 patients they were helping which I use this term loosely. I told them if they don't help him, he will lose one or both feet and possible die. They said casually "okay." He is now sitting in his apartment with black urine seeing people that don't exist and can't stick up for himself mentally. When I try to help or complain they tell me my hands are tied due to HIPPA privacy laws. Meaning patients without family have to ask for help or they get none. So, I am sitting in my apartment across from his waiting for him to die. It's now Friday Night and I am the only one who cares, and I can't do anything. I have been trying to get him help since Banner Health University Medical Center at 11th street and Mcdowell turned their backs on him. They called security on him in which security stood and glared at him and me for no reason other than unreasonable threat of imminent force. Neither I nor my friend was unreasonable, and my friend couldn't lift a fork, yet they chose to gang up on him like jackals sensing his death was near. I went to this place to get my friend help and I found heartless bullies with no sense of compassion or kindness. The people that did this should go to prison, and when my friend dies, they should be charged with murder.

Yelp
if you want to be seen at a respectable time avoid this place at all cost I couldn't even get a breathing treatment while waiting 4 hours for the doctors to prescribe steroids for my illness and that's it , ridiculous!

Yelp
Let me say I was treated with the utmost care and respect. The nurses were all very talkative and made everything comfortable!! Great hospital !!!

Yelp
Worst hospital ever. Some of nurses are great but the managers couldn't care less about your loved one. Do not go here and if you know someone there, get them out.

Yelp
I hate giving reviews. My aunt is currently in this hospital . This is the worst hospital you could ever go to . I do not recommend. My aunt had surgery and she is in so much pain . She asked her nurse if they could do anything and nothing has been done. A man was next door to my aunt screaming and in so much pain . The nurse told my aunt to ignore him . They are very inconsiderate. I can't believe how they mistreat patients here . Honestly they should be shut down . How could you ignore someone when they are in pain , ridiculous and again very inconsiderate.

Yelp
The ICU team is the most amazing people! Sarah is an RN that took care of one of my family members. Their RNs , palliative team, chaplains, hospice, etc etc ....everyone was absolutely amazing, They are knowledgeable in care and compassionate beyond expectations! They give respect to their patients. I have nothing but good things to say about this hospital. They are angels!

Yelp
I got there at 5:30am this morning with back pain and waited there for four hours and only one person ever got call back to see someone. Meanwhile there is the gentleman there with a clearly broken wrist, who has been there since 3:30am and still hadn't been seen even after I gave up and went home at 9am. The man had to go around the waiting begging people for a Tylenol or ibuprofen because none of the staff could give him a anything without being seen. That kind of neglect is a real shame and appalling.

Yelp
Horrific experience while an inpatient after my knee replacement surgery. I could not relax do to the unreasonable noise level from the nurses station. It sounded more like Chucky Cheese Pizza instead of a medical facility for recovering patients. I was on the 10th floor. The nurses were so loud with there laughter and conversation. No professionalism whatsoever. If you like nurses with tattoos all over there arms and nose rings Banner is the place for you. I was treated horribly after I asked if they could ratchet down the noise level. The Charge nurse had threatened me. Contacted Banner upon discharge with my concerns, and have never heard back from the hospital administration.

Yelp
My father was a patient there and it was the worse experience of my life. I can't believe how Medical staff treated my father, some not all. Hospital was dirty, staff neglected my father, put my father in the same room with a patient with MRSA. Infected my dad with the staph infection. My dad was transferred from Casa Grande Banner Hospital to Banner University Medical Center, my dad had a mild stroke. Still talking at the Hospital in Casa Grande , a week at Banner University Medical Center, he had to emergency surgery on his arm! Where they allegedly put his IV line in his left arm , and it got infected. We were all called at 3:00 in the morning. After that my Dad was in ICU for 3 Months on all kinds of medications , tube in his throat, arms strapped down because my dad wanted to take his tubes out! It was the worse experience of my life, to see my father in that situation. And at the end they sent him to Rehabilitation on a Friday after they did surgery on him on Wednesday, knowing he hasn't recovered from his surgery. He Died on Sunday, He bled out . I do not recommend this Hospital to no one!

Yelp
The Service takes forever and the nurses are hella rude they make weird assumptions and have poor attitude. Don't come here they are very suspicious. The higher up should definitely come in random and look at how they take care of patients. It's really sad what this country is coming to .

Yelp
I'm honestly only giving this place 2 stars because I was seen rather quickly upon arrival. The nurse who was taking my vitals and asking why I was there was very standoff-ish and didn't seem to take anything I was saying seriously. She literally said since my blood pressure wasn't high then and there, that 3 other machines (2 home and 1 from another medical facility) must be faulty. I'd like to add the at home blood pressure was taken 3 times by a retired CNA and it was an arm cuff not a wrist. Plus my physical therapists machines must be faulty too. Smh she was just unbelievable. I gave them a urine sample and a he didn't even bother to put me or my baby back on the monitor afterwards, even though I was there for preeclampsia issues which is very serious and should be monitored.

Yelp
It's a known fact that sick people come to the hospital, however, the light blue scrubs medical staff seems to not know this fact! Last Friday afternoon,3/30/24,around 4 p.m.,I was in the building facing mc dowell rd,between 12 th st & 10 th st,in the basement restroom, towards the cafeteria, dealing with bad coughing, sneezing, runny nose, body aches, head pressure, nausea,& having to try hacking the phlem out of my throat at every opportunity,so,as I entered the ladies room,I noticed that the stall next to me had a light blue scrubs med staff lady that seemed to be just sitting in there awhile already,no sounds of using the r.r.,i' m using the r.r.,also blowing my nose, coughing, hacking the phlem, minding my own business being sick,I saw her clunky white shoes with thick gray strip down the fronts, finally walk out, then I saw black shoes knocking on my stall, very intrusive,I said," yeah"& a lady asked if I was ok,I said"yeah,i' m just sick"& she repeated what I said sounding shocked & she said she's security,so I put the 2 together that the 1 light blue scrubs lady, only lady in there, called over me being sick, ridiculous,so I said" you were called over me blowing my nose, coughing,& hacking mucus out of my throat"& she saw it was a huge waste of her time too! Your medical staff is so security calling happy, whether out of jealousy, spite, hate, stupidity, lack of recognizing a true problem,& whatever else it may be!oh & childish!I can un- recommend this place to my family & friends & even contact my pre- paid lawyer I pay monthly for harrassment & trying to deny me my human rights as well as other wrongs people commit!A patient recently told me that medical staff called security on him before cause he kept calling for a urinal to be placed next to his bed!Learn to stop messing with innocent people!

Yelp
Was told 4 hour wait. We are currently on hour number 7. Still no word on when we'll be seen. I know hospitals are short staffed but that's just ridiculous. At least be honest up front about how long the waits actually are. Update: Hour number 9 of the supposed 4 hours. Only thing that's been done so far is a urine analysis. Still in the waiting room and have been told that they have no idea when we'll be seen. This is nuts!

Yelp
My mother was admitted here for an ablation on her heart and had been transferred from another hospital. The staff here was very nice. I wanted to give a shout out to Kendall for taking great care of my mother. Having a wonderful and caring nurse makes all the difference. I will say I was disappointed in the lack of "listening". My mother had pressure in her stomach from the procedure and they gave her pain medication which made her sicker and it kept her there a few more days. There is a difference between pain and pressure so I'm not a fan that my mother got worse. I also did not like the social worker they brought over to my mother's room. I know they have a job to do and have to ask questions prior to a patient being released but I felt the lady was really rude. Frankly, she bothered me the moment she walked in and her questions were weird. Not a fan. Her tone was probably the most insensitive and if you are going to work in a hospital, you must have a genuine care for people and their well-being. I felt the lady lacked empathy.

Yelp
Went in specifically to get an MRI for a hip muscle strain after RICEing for a week. Have gotten MRIs in the past for kidney stones and knew it was the only thing that could diagnose muscle and tendon issues. Was treated with another person in the same room for something similar and we were cookie cutter treated together so care was not individualized. Also heard them tell a person being treated in the same room they "tested positive for covid" (luckily put a mask on in the lobby but why am I so close to this person??) Had to ask for an MD when the PA offered an extraneous bone X-ray/bone ct scan instead. Was told by the DO that because it wasn't an emergency I had to get a referral out to then request a non emergency MRI (when I know the doctor makes this decision) The registration lady called me "a disgusting person" when I told her she couldn't understand my pain and she did not understand how upset I was at not being given the treatment I was there for, we both affirmed she was there just to collect money as well as to not talk to each other that way and then she tried to say I swore at her to the charge nurse when all I said was "you too" repeatedly to her barrage of personal insults that came my way as a patient. A lady came in to clean the area after that and acted surprised I was still there for some reason. Then the nurse in charge proceeded to walk me out like I was a criminal when I thought I was waiting for someone to explain billing to me after someone told me they'd be back. They refused to give me a sheet showing what actually happened instead of services ordered that didn't happen and she said moving me was all for patient privacy then continued to talk to me (a patient) about personal things related to my care right in front of the ER entrance where the public was seated. And if they'd wanted to give privacy they wouldn't be sticking four people in a single room where three other patients can hear and smell everything even if they can't see them because of flimsy curtains. Everyone has to pass the people at the front of the room to get to the forgotten people in the back. Only nurses, underpaid techs, PAs in training and DOs...not an actual MD in sight. It's honestly the kind of people in this area. Pretty sure I went to Estrella the last few times and didn't ever have any issues like this when getting care. Had a full private room to myself. I'll be taking the ER referral because it's needed and I cannot wait months on end to address something impacting my sleep, movement and pain tolerance continually for weeks on end. But I'll probably be checking out the other local area Banner ERs first in the future after this gets taken care of.

Yelp
My grandmother is in hospice home care end they conveniently forgot to inform us of visiting hours... we had no idea what the program was for visiting... when you have a limited time with your family member it's important to tell us that you have given restrictions on that in order for the families to plan... you completely caught us off guard... please provide a pamphlet to people with rules if you're going to be so strict how cruel to keep families apart in such a difficult time... very inhumane.. with that being said the nurses are nice to mom and introduced herself so thank you for that.. but the other than that I'm annoyed that we had family drive out and you're turning us away when she's clearly needs her family

Yelp
wow they sure give you a run around refuse to transfer daughter to closer hospital check out you are on your own, stay may take 6 to 8 weeks to get rid of infection, went in for swollen throat could not swallow liquids or foods and yet never even went to look for the source, but being internal medicine probally not trained eye ears throat don't even look at thyroid issue which will cause swelling of throat swelling of larynx any way after 4 days nothing changed just keep flooding her with antibiotics don't even take autoimmune diastase, which yrs ago told she had an autoimmune disorder. banners so called policy does not apply, so in short go elsewhere then this is not for all the other good banner hospitals

Yelp
Awful. Don't send anyone here unless you don't care for them. The ER clerk is moody and unhelpful, the same with the ER nurses. They claim they can't help because they are helping a patient with a medical emergency, yet your family member is there for a medical emergency. No interest in listening to a family member of an incoherent patient. A patient who is there without their meds and they aren't willing to get their med information so they can understand what they need and what the cause may be for them to be there. 3 hours, multiple calls, no answer and no returned call for an initial update! If they could not accommodate, they should not accept the transportation from the paramedics!

Yelp
I was forced to come today by my liver transplant doctor across the street. Whom was concerned by some of my vitals. I didn't realize I pissed him off. Because after 5 hours of waiting...Im still here and have not seen a soul. Love your attempt but I'm now in my 7th hour of Still Waiting! *Updated we waited 7 Hrs & 53 minutes to be seen in the ER. Now we're been waiting in the ER room over 2 hrs but they are randomly coming for tests, we expect to be admitted in another couple of hours*

Yelp
I wish I could leave no star review on this one but yelp won't let me. The incident occurred at banner University Medical Center on 12th Street and McDowell Phoenix Arizona. In the early morning hours on November 19 I went to Banner University Medical Center because of athama issues. Waited for what seemed like hours in which I shouldn't have had to wait for something like that. I was treated and released. I no sooner get back home when I began to experience severe pain so a neighbor called the fire department and I was once again taken back to Banner. Where I learned I had a bad UTI. Was treated and released once again. My insurance was called but I figured I could possibly get back home safely so I went on my way. I was so sick I just wanted to get back home and rest but only made as far as 7th Street and McDowell before I began vomiting nonstop and someone called the fire department and took me back to banner. Once I got back to Banner I was left in emergency department lobby. I was left there for over 9 hours vomiting nonstop. Finally another health care worker came out and asked to blond lady how long has she been waiting? She looks awful sick. Blond lady said oh I don't know when he said she needs to be seen right away. Blond lady said as she slammed papers down on table I guess I have no choice but to admit her back in. She will regret this mark my words. Banner since when do your health care workers have the right to threaten their patients? I was then admitted to hospital. The overnight health care workers were very rude and even verbal abused me. The nurse very rudely said to doctor I won't are for her because she has mental illness. Your people can't refuse care because someone is mentally ill. The nurse called for security to have me hauled out of there but security told them they can't because I wasn't doing anything wrong. The nurse said I know what I can do to get her out and that is to trash up station and hurt myself to make it look like she did it and that is just what she did. Workers comp fraud. Daytime staff not better. Daytime staff accused me of doing things I didn't do and they may have even gone as far as to hack my home computer, and phone and webcam to see what I had in my bedroom. You people can't do that. It doesn't matter what the situation was or what I had on my computer if that did happen you people had no business doing so. You can't do that. For HIPPA and ethical reasons you can't do that. You also can't threaten to call social security or medicare on that person in retaliation. My nurse on dayshift threatened to take away my wheelchair. Without my wheelchair I can't walk. I have spinal cord nerve damage to my C6 spine in which nerve test picked up on in which would be safe to say I'm incomplete quadriplegic. I also have functional neurological disorder that requires a wheelchair to get around in. Also upon discharge one of your employees who rolled me out to van my insurance cover to take me home slammed my wheelchair up against side of ramp and said take her. That was physical abuse when he did that. Since when do your employees have the right to physically abuse patients? What they did was both verbal and physical abuse. I was also informed they did it to other people who also were mentally ill. I was not the only victim. Thanks to Banner I now have PTSD as a result of the events that night.
