Banyan Tree Spa Hangzhou

Beautiful property with excellent rooms. Special recognition to the service staff at the Breakfast buffet during our stay. They provided great service which was warm, prompt and attentive. Definitely hope to come back and stay at Banyan Tree Hangzhou again.

Wonderful location which is located inside of the one of top reserved natural beauty area - Xixi Wetland, can easy assess to wetland and visit the surrounding beautiful great natural landscape and wildlife. Moreover, the hotel built by Su style, one of most famous landscapes style in the ancient Chinese history. It’s also convenient to travel to another great place called Tian Mu Li where has lots of great foods and shoppings.

The hotel is so old and poorly maintained to a point that you can’t tell if things are clean. I fixed the shower head before I could use it, the carpet is full of stains, every corner you turn there is a worker doing things yet the hotel is still so old. There are more workers than the guests, they work when you rest, they rest at the guest area when you walk around in the hotel. The swimming pool is insanely old, expect water dripping from the glass ceiling and the jacuzzi could be perpetually “under maintenance” so no water jet is justified. The staff is friendly enough but certainly not trained to work at a five star hotel. In two words, don’t go.

Everything about the hotel is awesome, rooms were big and luxurious and in addition, the service provided were impeccable. Would definitely come back here the next time I’m in Hangzhou. Big shoutout to Frank and the team, who has helped us in ensuring we are well taken care of.

Our special thanks to front desk staff Martin for his excellent service and support.  We are also very appreciative to the breakfast staff, Ellie, Lune and the rest for their attentive service. Overall this is a wonderful stay with great memories of Hangzhou.

Banyan Tree Hangzhou was my favourite hotel. It is located in the wetlands near Westlake. At night you sleep to the sound of the outside insects and creatures. The hotel is simply beautiful. Plenty of artwork. The food was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

We are actually trying to find a drawback to this hotel, but this is really difficult, as you have all the services and amenities that you would expect. English speaking staff was available (which seems to be rare these days even in 5 stars hotels) and very professional.The rooms are well decorated and spacious.The location and environment are peaceful and green, perfect if you are trying to escape the busy center of Hangzhou.The breakfast had a wide choice of good quality international and local options.If we really had to be picky, the cocktails were slow to come at the afternoon tea restaurant. That was the only potential improvement to make that we found. ;)

So expensive for such a bad hotelIt's an old hotel and everything is now not worth the money.The food is terrible and dangerous. They let the ice cream melt completely (it's like milk), and then freeze it again right before the service.The food gives terrible intestine problems, no hygiene, the buffet is dangerous (breakfast and dinner are the same).The staff are part timers students, so don't expect any professional people here. Maybe it's good for chinese locals, but foreigners paying 400USD+ per night for this is terrible.
