Banyan Tree Spa Hangzhou

I rarely write reviews. It's so seldom, I believe this may even be my first Google review. The exceptions are far and in between, purposefully so. To give Banyan Tree a 5-star rating, without sharing the experience, would do injustice to the incredible time my girlfriend and I had at the hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth by every single staff member. Checking in was a breeze, and we were even greeted by the most stunning of sunsets as we overlooked the hotel's entrance bridge; the pagoda sitting in the far distance. We were instantly transported to a different time and place. Often times, the advertised pictures of your hotel room embellish what the room looks like. Somehow, the room was even better than the photographs. Our "room" was a villa in every sense of the word. We didn't have one bathtub. We had two. One in our immense bathroom, the other in our bedroom. We had an issue with the piping, which we reported to the staff the following day. They were so attentive and understanding that they extended our stay, free of charge. And so, we were moved to another, equally stunning, room. From offering complementary wine and fruit, to speaking to us about Hangzhou, and giving tips; it was truly the most well-serviced hotel I've ever had the privilege of staying at. Frank and Jennifer are two staff members I want to particularly commend, for facilitating this one-in-a-lifetime experience. My girlfriend and I are still euphoric from our time in Hangzhou, and I have a suspicion we'll be back sooner than later. Partly because it's a stunning city, largely because of the hotel service and staff. Thank you.

A very delightful stay. Spacious suite and it’s great for just relaxing and getting away from the noise. There is a shuttle provided to the hotel to get you to the entrance of Xixi so you can get to the metro quickly (~5 mins). Breakfast was a delight and overall a very enjoyable stay.

Great stay at Banyan Tree Hangzhou! Rooms were very well cleaned and there were amenities such as pools and steam rooms we could visit. Decor was really nice around the hotel and was close to most things. Would stay here again

We received warm welcome. Overall excellent service from hotel staff to the restaurants. We had a happy and enjoyable stay at the Hang Zhou Banyan Tree. Highly recommend this place. After staying at the Hang Zhou Banyan Tree for 3 nights, we went on to stay at the Shanghai on the bund Bayan Tree. We experienced a stark contrast in service from the front desk staff from the bund Banyan Tree. We wondered why they kept stopping us from getting into the room that we have booked for. In the end, we went through changing 3 rooms before they finally gave us the correct facing room. So, beware of the Shanghai on the Bund Banyan Tree and do not believe in the free upgrade or upsize room. We rejected the first corner room only to be given another corner room at the other end that were both warm and uncomfortable. The staff kept assuring us that they were bigger rooms and better view than the Panorama Riverside Retreat-King room that we have booked for but we want the room that we have booked. Why can't they give us the right room in the first place and have to made us go through changing from one room to another. A clear dishonest play here. We missed the Hang Zhou Banyan Tree front desk staff.

My mother and I stayed at Water View Villa for 5D4N to celebrate my birthday at Hangzhou. One of the staffs in Front Office, Jennifer, was very helpful and friendly, providing us a birthday cake for this special occasion and helping us with all of our requests. She was also very responsive to us even during her off days when we needed her help. We enjoyed our stay at Banyan Tree because of Jennifer. Thank you!

Beautiful property with excellent rooms. Special recognition to the service staff at the Breakfast buffet during our stay. They provided great service which was warm, prompt and attentive. Definitely hope to come back and stay at Banyan Tree Hangzhou again.

Wonderful location which is located inside of the one of top reserved natural beauty area - Xixi Wetland, can easy assess to wetland and visit the surrounding beautiful great natural landscape and wildlife. Moreover, the hotel built by Su style, one of most famous landscapes style in the ancient Chinese history. It’s also convenient to travel to another great place called Tian Mu Li where has lots of great foods and shoppings.
