"Absolutely no one will be surprised to find out that Laguna Beach has its very own acai bowl mecca. And its name is Banzai Bowls. These bowls are huge and refreshing (and might just be fruity yogurt, but who cares?) and designed to be cradled in your arms as you sit in front of the ocean. Just know that getting one can be a real time commitment: the lines are always long, and everyone working there appears to have been set in slow motion. photo credit: Jakob Layman" - Katherine Lewin

Google
Overall service was great. Acai bowls were great but I’d definitely say they would need alittle more flavor or maybe blended a bit thicker. Other than that I was satisfied with it. Had some with my friend visiting from out of town and his favorite thing to eat are acai bowls. We gave an honest review in the video.

Google
The crunchy, healthy, fresh snack or possible meal has a line out the door. You either love these or you don't. And it seems to be loved by many. Small area, not a lot of seating; so expect to be standing while you eat.

Google
Long waits in the summer, but what are you gonna do... the bowls are awesome. I usually get the one with honey and blueberries, names elude me... you really can't go wrong. Large is pretty big. Great to share, usually melts all together before I can finish it... I should get a small, but meh. Good selection of craft can juices.

Google
We got two large (Maui Sunrise and Off The Wall) açaí bowls to share between 6 people. The portions were amazingly generous! I personally liked Off The Wall better. It had a more mellow complexity to the flavor while the Maui Sunrise had a stronger overall pineapple juice taste. Very friendly service!

Emily

Google
Amazing açaí bowls for a decent price! Great selection on the menu. Only complaint is that you usually have to wait a good 10-15 minutes even when the place is pretty much completely empty, so keep that in mind when planning your visit.

Esther Figueroa

Google
Great bowls, Excellent customer service. Do expect a long line and long wait time for your order. I called my order in .. (smart) no need to wait in line .. will come back soon ! Thank You

Christian Eck

Google
I‘ve had a big meal for lunch that’s why I want something healthy for dinner. I had no glue what I should order so I asked the waitress and she recommended the maui sunrise. I took it and it was very delicious and yummy with fresh strawberries on top. I can’t recommend this place.

Andrew

Google
Place was ok. Literally 15 people just sitting around and waiting for their smoothies or bowls. Waited 30 minutes for our 2 smoothies that tasted alright. Tables were dirty, sticky and full of food crumbs. You could feel the tension in the atmosphere, nobody inside looked the least bit happy to just be sitting there waiting. If you're in a hurry, I'd stop by someplace else, you will be waiting a while for your drink/bowl.

Yelp
I want an ACAI bowel right now because this place was so good! Parking was easy enough on the street, which you had to pay for, but we left the driver in the car in case someone came to move us. I recommend grabbing one before heading to the beach! There was a lot of filling in the bowls; I got a small, but it was almost filled to the brim! Even though the workers weren't super friendly, they provided good customer service! The interior had a beach vibe, which was expected since the is on the beach!

Jacey H.

Yelp
I have come here quite a few times. They always make these so great and are super accommodating when it comes to food allergy.

Talisha P.

Yelp
Shark Cove Bowl (small) Staff was friendly. The açaí bowl had good flavor but it melted down too quick.

Tammy B.

Yelp
Da Kine bowl 7.32/10- good but not refreshing like the other açaí bowls, more of a dessert bowl. Blended with peanut butter and chocolate hemp milk and topped with granola and nuts. Definitely a good choice if you're incredibly hungry Off the wall 10/10- my favorite bowl. Blended with guava juice fruits and dark chocolate. Has a huge citrus taste to it and you can also taste the dark chocolate which also adds texture to the açaí base. Topped with granola, bananas, kiwi, coconut shreds, and honey. So incredibly refreshing. The management was terrible though. Staff was incredibly rude when my friend and I went to pick up the bowls. Gave us attitude for asking, when it was not even busy. We had to wait an extra 15 minutes for them to blatantly see that we were waiting in the pick up order line, and ignore us. They hired a lot of younger looking kids which may be the reason as to why. They were quite disrespectful. In addition, their food station in the back looked quite disgusting and terrible.

Y S.

Yelp
Okay açaí bowl. Service took over 30 minutes just for one açaí bowl and it didn't have much flavor. The açaí bowls that I've had in the LA area are all much better than this place. The inside was old and messy but kinda have Hawaii vibes. However the açaí did not taste like haaaii açaí at all either. I wouldn't recommend this place

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Ok one of my favorite spots to get açaí bowls is Banzai Bowls! Been coming to their Huntington Beach location since probably a decade ago, which is where I usually go but I stopped by here since I was in the area. I would go out of my way to come here. My favorite is their Small Maui Sunrise Bowl. My boyfriend got the Açaí Smoothie and that was also good! I'm usually not able to finish my bowl so I just take it home, put it back in the freezer and eat it later, still tastes good to me, it's not the exact same but close enough since I don't want to waste food or the money I just spent on it! They are the OG of açaí bowls where I got my very first açaí bowl in Huntington Beach and still a ten in my eyes. I like that the bowl gives a mix between sweet and sour flavors, the perfect balance. I have never tried their Pitaya bowls but I do want to try them! I have tried other shops but this is still one of my favorites. The açaí and pitaya bases here are blended to order. It's different from some other shops like Ambrose Açaí Bar or Açaí Joint where the bases there are pre-blended, frozen and then scooped which gives a different consistency and taste. I think both types of bowls are delicious, just depends on preference. I think the blended to order açaí base is slightly less sweet, more tart and more of a smoothie like consistency, which I love! There is paid metered street parking, like any beach it can get busy especially on weekends, it's not too bad on weekdays. Service is not always the best here but I'm just coming for my açaí fix so who cares. There's a little bit of casual inside seating. Prices have definitely gone up in the past years like everything else but comparing to other spots price is fair and standard. It wasn't busy when I went on a weekday, not wait at all, but from other reviews I'm hearing that it gets busy on the weekend, so best to call ahead or place an online order. I'm sad to see that they have only three stars, probably mostly due to the service or long wait times. I feel like it should have at least four stars.

Yelp
Parking: Free 90 min parking in the garage structure with validation. The validation machine is at the register. Food: Not exactly what I had expected for an acai bowl place. Since I have a preference for more stiff textured acai bowls, Banzai is a place I probably wouldn't visit again but would definitely recommend for my friends to try out! Menu is pretty extensive with bowls and smoothies. But their acai bowl is definitely more of a smoothie bowl (liquid-y) but it's definitely fresh since they blend it to order. Sizes are insane: small (~$11) and large (~$15) which makes it worth a try if you want to split with a friend. Just bare in mind, it's not build your own but you can make substitutions! Ambiance: Lots of seating near windows which makes the dining experience much more enjoyable! Love that the location is so close to the beach!

Yelp
Delicious bowls! Super delicious and long menu to choose from. However, it did take an extremely long time for us to get our food. We ordered one large and one small but it took about 30 minutes to get our bowls. I would say it was worth it though. Delicious açai and pitaya bowls!

Paul M.

Yelp
Tasty & healthy Food looks delicious. Taste great. I felt great afterwards friendly stuff. We will definitely return fun place to eat

Lauren C.

Yelp
Good size for the bowls and the granola and honey was so good. The service was also quite fast. I'd definitely recommend if you're looking for a casual açaí bowl.

Scott B.

Yelp
This location is closed. Do not make the mistake I just did of parking a couple blocks away, then walking around trying to find it to see it's closed.

Yelp
I live around the corner for years, finally decided to try a Banzi Bowl this Sunday morning. I walked in, the place was empty, minus a couple people eating their smoothies. There was no line, I placed an order. At the same time, my husband and friends went next door and ordered a Pokie bowl. Waited about 10 minutes, saw a couple people walk in to pick up Mobile Orders. Waited another 10 mins, people started coming in and ordering. Could see the kitchen staff in the back. They appeared to be in no rush what so ever, even taking the time to find the right music to play. Waiting about 20 min at that point. After waiting 30 minutes, I inquired about my order. Was told they are very busy. Eventually my husband re-appeared. He had already ordered, eaten and finished his Pokie Bowl!!! He wanted to know what was taking so long. Finally, I asked the girls for my $ back. Was told since I used a credit card, they can't issue a return. Was told the owner would be there shortly, and if I would wait a little longer, the owner could issue me a refund. They apologized and said they were working on my oder right now. Some 45 min after ordering, I finally got my order. Not worth waiting 3/4 of an hour for. Won't be back.

Yelp
The Makaha and V land bowl were amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great service and even better bowls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brandon K.

Yelp
This places açaí bowls are incredible and absolutely a favorite amongst locals. You can go wrong with any of their options on the menu, but if you are wondering what my favorite is, it's the Mango Sunrise! The açaí blend is super flavorful and not watered down which is a challenge amongst other spots. The toppings are also super fresh and ripe. The large size is definitely worth getting as well considering it's generous portion vs. the small and minor price difference. All around a must-have after a summer beach day.

A R.

Yelp
We used to live in the area and loved it. 5 year later we came back. Ordered in store. Took about 20 minutes to get it and it was "watery" and not that great. Figured we'd give it a go another time before we left. Did the mobile order. They got it wrong for my wife and mine was watery. Had them remake it. When I returned 15 mins later like they suggested the store was empty including employees. I waited at the counter. Then went to the pick up counter. Repeatedly yelled hello, pounded on the wood counter, and knocked on the glass. Nothing. Stuck my head through the pick up window and there are three employees sitting there chatting listening to blasting music. Finally one looked over because they still couldn't hear me yell hello. With all that I said I said thank you and maintained being polite and left. They didn't say sorry about your order. They didn't even say your welcome after I said thank you when they handed me my bowls. They said nothing. I won't be back. Ps the bowls still sucked.

Maya K.

Yelp
BEWARE! I wish I would have saw all the one stars for this place before I came. I placed a online order through yelp which told me it would take 20 minutes. I got there and had to wait a total of 45 minutes for two açaí bowls. I wasn't the only one, the whole place was filled with people at tables waiting for their bowls. The worst part has to be the people in there. Employees have the worst attitudes I've ever witnessed. There are literally 10 year olds in the back making the bowls!! Go somewhere where the employees are of age and won't verbally abuse you. Terrible, this is a child labor camp that needs to be shut down immediately.

Quincey H.

Yelp
Great deal for so much food! I got a small and it was more than enough for me. Very tasty overall!

Gaby R.

Yelp
This is my go to spot in laguna beach, I love their açaí bowls, their pitaya bowls and their smoothies. Great quality food and good staff. I LOVE their granola so much I wish I could buy a whole bag of it.

Nicole M.

Yelp
The place is cute and the service was ok... but this is one of the least tasty acai bowls I've had. The açai itself was pretty flavorless, my boyfriend's bowl came with a piece of plastic in it and mine was missing an ingredient (the mango). Overall would not recommend.

Bay M.

Yelp
I don't know... there's just something about Banzai that always hits the spot. I've tried all these new acai bowl places that pop up, they're good but there's something just oddly satisfying about getting Banzai. Not sure if it's the nostalgia of my younger years but I really love this place. Whenever I get the chance, I always try to make it to Laguna for this. All my friends that visit can attest to this. They always ask me to take them here. My go-to is the OG Bowl with apple juice. Recently, upon discovering my new favorite, Goji berry... I've moved on to the Shark's Cove. The Maui Sunrise is also a favorite if you like coconut. Their pitaya bowls are also really good, the Pupukea is what we get. The small is plenty! Unless you're really hungry, then go for it. Tip: Call ahead for your order especially during the summer months... the lines are out the door, the space is small and it gets pretty warm and stuffy in there. Also, heads up, it takes a while to get your order because they make each one individually... not in batches.

Jazel R.

Yelp
I woke up craving an acai bowl and decided to look on Door Dash. I'm so glad Banzai Bowls was on there because I've been wanting to try them. Door Dash took a long time so my acai bowl was a bit melted but I can't complain since I didn't go to the store myself. I ordered the Maui Sunrise. The biggest acai bowl I've ever had! This thing was LOADED with goodness. I love how they were generous on the granola because that's my favorite topping. Fruits made it colorful and pretty! This bowl isn't just tasteful; it's visually pleasing too! So IG worthy! My brother had an acai bowl for the first time and he was automatically hooked! I'm so glad the portion was huge because he ate majority of it. He kept asking me that day to buy him more lol! If you want to get your money's worth I would definitely recommend Banzai Bowls! Perfect after any activity, hike, or the beach!

Christy B.

Yelp
We don't go here because the service is consistently extremely slow. It can take 45 mins at times to get a bowl. Go to Active Culture a block away for delicious food and faster service.

Rach S.

Yelp
The food itself was not bad.. not the best acai bowls i've ever had. HOWEVER. I had a friend who is HIGHLY allergic to strawberries ask for no strawberries and what was in the bowl? strawberries. Had to leave and find an epi pen. Did get a full refund but not sure if it was worth risking a life. Just be careful if you have allergies since service is questionable.

CJ B.

Yelp
Size large cup is filled half way only costs a dollar or too extra but still very annoying.

Veronica H.

Yelp
Used to come A LOT and them took a real because the presentation of the bowls started declining, but recently decided to go back for my lid who loves her (breakfast ice cream). Let me tell you that Taylor, did a picture replica with our bowl as long as our bonzais keep being made with effort once agin like she does them, this will be our breakfast place once again

Vicki L.

Yelp
Had an acai craving, and I knew this place would satisfy. I got the small size for $9, and the portion is huge! All the fruits tasted super fresh, and the employee was also very friendly. My order was ready way ahead of the designated pick up time, so don't be afraid to ask if you happen to arrive early. It's almost impossible to find parking along PCH, but if you turn into one of the side streets you'll have better luck. You could also ask for a lid or a wrap if you're getting it to go.

Esther S.

Yelp
This place is run by incompetent teenagers who not only lack training in customer service basics but have no idea how to function without a manager present. We ordered as walk-ins two açaí bowls. Simple. 45 minutes later we were still waiting. Cashier claimed to have no recollection of our order - and he was the one who took the order! When we finally asked for a refund to our credit card he couldn't find the transaction. A true cluster. Whoever owns this place - start paying attention!

Rae A.

Yelp
Life hack: order ahead either by calling the store or through online! It will save you the trouble of waiting on the hot sidewalk as you crave your bowl. I'm serious. In Laguna Beach - parking and traffic go hand in hand - both are awful. As we were cleaning up our stuff, I called to place an order- it was going to take 30 minutes! By the time we arrived, got parking, and waited in line to pay - it was already ready. They aren't letting you come in and have a window at the door to help take orders. It is pretty slow as the staff have to constantly go back to making bowls and taking orders. I think it took longer just to get to the front. I ordered the Rincon and the Maui Sunrise. Both are so refreshing and filled with a ton of fruits. I loved their strawberries and granola. The fruits tasted like sugar. It was such a treat on a hot day. There was a line and some people not wearing masks :( However, the staff themselves are all just high-schoolers making a quick buck so have some patience and think about where you are - right near the beautiful ocean!!!

Dan R.

Yelp
Amazing Sharks Cove Banzai Bowl! Best açaí bowls in town! Come check them out! Tons of vegan options! Just no honey!

Krystal D.

Yelp
Great açaí but waited 45min in addition to quoted time with online ordering. They need more staff and a better kitchen system.

Dharma L.

Yelp
Their açaí bowls are delicious, especially the OG açaí bowl. What troubles me is the wait time. I waited 5 minutes just for someone to come out from the back and take my order. Then, I waited over 30 minutes for one OG açaí bowl size small. When i went to ask about my açaí, they told me it had been done they just hadn't put the toppings on. So i waited over 30 minutes for an açaí bowl that they had already made.

Lawrence M.

Yelp
Read all the previous reviews because there is soo much validity to it! The places itself is pretty interesting. there are steps to go walk into the counter and the menu is posted high on the wall. God thing is that the menu is printed in large text, easy enough to read! Okay lets talk about the food itself. We ordered the Sharks Cove with hemp milk and man this was definitely filling! The kicker was the goji berries that were quite surprisingly sweet and chewy. we also got the Maui Sunrise, that if you are a coconut lover, this is the one for you! Now as i mentioned earlier, read the reviews. The product is amazing! but the process is so broken. We should not be waiting 45 minutes for 3 acai bowls to be made. When we went there, there were maybe 2 other customers in the dining room? no reason why this food should take so long. If management is reading this, PLEASE fix the process. Have people dedicated to making food and or have a dedicated cashier. I would love to go back, but maybe not to this location because waiting 45 mins for food when its not a restaurant... cmon... there must be something we can improve on. Dont get me wrong, good food and great service, but the process is broken.. please help the employees by making standard processes, and help your customers at the same time!

Brisamar R.

Yelp
Dank bowels hit the spot and makes a great breakfast lunch or dessert Maui bowel gucci

Loren K.

Yelp
Their bowls are hit or miss. I usually get the Sharks Cove or Shoyo bowl. I would recommend this place to people that haven't had açaí before.

Amaza H.

Yelp
Me and Daughter stop by BONZAI BOWL To get something refreshing after the Beach, she got the MAUI SUNRISE & I the BOMZAI, it was so refreshing, it definitely hit the Spot. We will be Back!

Tambu D.

Yelp
I read the reviews before I decided to try this place out and so I was prepared to wait for 30-45 mins for my order and not get great customer service. It took 20 mins for my Banzai bowl to be prepared and that was with 2 people in front of me.The teenagers or college aged workers were diligently working throughout the time I was there and the customer service was ok.Like I said I was pleasantly surprised and I made sure to try it out at what I thought would be not peek busy hours

Emily T.

Yelp
Cute little spot on PCH! I got the Maui Sunrise açaí bowl and it was really good!! I got a large for $10. Small was $8.25. Large is really big and it's filling! Healthy too! Walked in with my 3 dogs and they didn't mind! They even have a little grass area for your dog to wait on inside by the door, but I didn't utilize that. 1 star docked due to parking inconvenience and the line/wait was slow.

Emma D.

Yelp
It took around 35 mins for 1 bowl I feel like the workers should have had their hair tied a bit better They all looked like they just got out of bed with messy hair everywhere. Lol would be worried about that

David R.

Yelp
Ignore all of these negative reviews, all the things they complain about are simply proof they they are total kooks. Banzai Bowl is like fight club, IYKYK, the joy I get simply by sitting in the dining room watching tourists get angry because their order is taking 30 minutes is immeasurable. Sitting there in the poorly ventilated space rewatching the same VHS surfing video that has been playing for 20 years stokes pure joy. The absolute DGAF attitude of the teenage staff because they know you are coming back either way is inspiring. If we could all lead our lives with such confidence the world would be a better place. Don't like the wait? There is an app for that. Don't like the gross dining room? Go eat your bowl on the beach that is 200 feet away. Don't like the staff? Clearly you aren't a loke, it's a feature not a bug. Don't like the bowls? You made a bad order, try the pupukea! Don't like the Pupukea? You're a total kook! Banzai Bowl is the best açaí spot east of the North Shore . Tell them Dave sent you, it won't get you a smile or a discount.

Robert T.

Yelp
I like Bonzai's product but their processes need help. Wait times are very long in person but are now longer when ordering online. I placed a web order and scheduled the earliest pickup available (approximately 20 minutes). I arrived at the Laguna Beach location 20 minutes late (transportation delays), waited 10 minutes for an employee to attend the register, then was informed my order would be 10 minutes late. It took another 15 minutes before my order was ready and when it was, It was incorrect (I asked for no honey). The Bonzai employee offered to correct the mistake by wiping off the honey. Waiting over an hour for an incorrect acai bowl order is too much, no matter how good it is.

Amy A.

Yelp
Been here twice already after a quick morning hike in Laguna and the bowls are delicious. I especially love how they have goji berries! The portions are perfect and their combinations are all great. Definitely refreshing after a morning workout!

Justine M.

Yelp
The service was very slow and the environment was not a place I would want to go again. I love banzai bowls and wanted to try another one of their locations but the laguna beach location wasn't one of the best ones I've been to. Their bowls are always so good and they were here as well. It was just the service here that I was not too fond of.

H Y.

Yelp
Please just close or sell to Someone who cares. If the owners read the reviews they would see product ok - but words like horrid customer service and insane 1.5 hour wait times. We try again and again to like the place - months apart. And same story so it's not just a bad day for them. Other options available nearby. We are done.

Nikolai K.

Yelp
Shared an OG bowl which was very filling even when split between two people. The atmosphere here was really nice, and it nice to get enjoy a cold and flavorful açaí bowl on the PCH near the ocean. The bowl was loaded up with fruit and lots of granola. Refreshing and delicious. The only thing about the experience that could have been better was the wait - it took a long time in line and to get our bowl. But I guess that also means that it's made fresh to order, so there's always two sides to the coin. Anyways if I'm in the area again I would come back, so recommended for sure.

Sun H.

Yelp
As soon as you enter the place you are gonna smell the stinky safeway restroom with flies. Thankfully, I couldn't taste the bowl because I had to cancel and get a refund for a ridiculously long wait period of time after their mixed up orders. But I feel better because I saw the dirty and unsanitary rat holes in which those two teenagers and one manager had to work. Literally, their sweat was dropped on the bowls so many times, and I was disgusted. Graciously, I was able to get a refund after hearing from the manager that we are "ridiculous". If the manager ever checks the reviews, please make the work place better for those poor kids, and train them. Plus, wear a mask or something.

Joelle K.

Yelp
Great place right on S Coast Highway. Not crowed on a weekday just what we needed after a hikThe Banzis bowls are so cold and refreshing. Great serving sizes. Great employees thanks Ivan.

Nick B.

Yelp
We read about this place long before our visit to Laguna. It's worth the hype. We ordered 3 different small bowls. All were delicious. Our order took less than 5 minutes to arrive. My favorite - Off the Wall. Only thing I'd suggest - WiFi. Definitely returning.

Fanny T.

Yelp
I don't understand why the wait time is so long, especially when there's literally no one inside. The acai bowl itself is great, but the wait time is absolutely ridiculous and that's why it's getting 2 stars. I'm not sure how Banzai trains its employees, but they need to do a better job at making bowls a lot faster.

Sarah V.

Yelp
Ordering is quick but waiting for the order literally took 25 minutes and it's also very hot inside. Also, there are children working in the back. I will not be coming back.
