Bao Asian Market & Deli

This is a great little market tucked in the corner of the shopping center. The counter service restaurant has never disappointed. In fact, they bring the flavor. Today I had the pork banh mi, and the tamarind chicken wings. It was super flavorful. Service has been great every visit too.

Ordered from home the Combo Pho and the Chicken Fried Rice... Both were amazing, the fried rice was the best I've ever had (even after pub crawl at 1AM in Seoul). The service was quick and friendly ant the prices not bad. Will definitely be back.

My go to Pho spot in this area!! Most authentic pho broth, with many other great dish options. I love the market included with the restaurant, super convenient. Super fast service! I Highly recommend 10/10.

One of my favorite store/restaurant spots. The food is top notch at the restaurant! The store has items like ube flavoring and ube powder that is difficult to find elsewhere. Their tamarind wings are easily 10/10.

I absolutely love this place. I am hooked on the soup. It is so delicious! I also enjoyed browsing the market and seeing all of the variety of grocery items. This is a great place to eat and shop.

For an Asian market, it does have your basic items. The wings are delicious and the pho is flavorful. Service was wonderful throughout our meal and shopping experience.

Pleasant Atmosphere the dumplings soups and sandwiches was terrific. Had a last minute lunch date with my daughter and I enjoyed it tremendously. This was my daughter's favorite take-out but we decided to eat in. I will be back.

Service is good but the food is so trash, the spicy beef noodle soup is 50% oil and the 50% is broth, the Chinese food is so oily and not authentic, the lo mein is the only thing decent the shrimp dumplings are so bad I couldn’t even eat it ambiance is nice but the food is garbage

Great food. I've been to the other one in town. This is more of a counter service/market with a few tables and good music playing. It's not fancy at all, but that's not a bad thing either. We had grilled pork bahn mi, grilled chicken vermicelli bowl and a grilled pork spring roll. The cashier was nice and got us cups of ice to go with our water. The vermicelli bowl was our favorite-traces of mint, cilantro, chicken, noodles cucumber with a sweet sauce and occasional crunch of peanuts. I enjoyed the spring rolls and the peanut dipping sauce is so good you want to lick the bowl clean. Bahn mi was good. Lots of meat in it. We also enjoyed buying a hot sauce and ramen from the store. We will be back.

Love shopping here! Almost always everything is stocked and they have an awesome selection of everything you'd need. The food is always good and seems fresh. The teas are amazing . There are not any bathrooms for the public but the vibe of the place is very calm and pleasing. The cashiers are always very nice and helpful.

This is my favorite Pho place in Prairieville. It was a weekly thing for me at one point in time. Food is always tasty, hot, and fresh. You order at the cash register and they bring it out to you. Perfect for a quick work lunch!

Vietnamese grocery supermarket in the small strip. They have enough supplies for Asian cooking. In the corner they have a food section with nice seatings and lots of dishes to choose from. The service is good. We bought some supermarket stuff and ordered chicken and beef pho. It's a good adding to the neighborhood. I will keep visiting whenever I'm in the area.

I've been wanting to try Bao in P'ville, and I finally did! No disappointment here! Very friendly service, good value ($11-$15 per entree), and fresh food are all here! They also have an Asian market! The food was flavorful and there was plenty of meat (including seafood) included in each dish. I really liked the egg rolls. So crispy and flavorful! The dining area was not very special, sort of a dinette in the middle of a grocery store, but we got our dinner to go. They also offer Dong Phuong rolls for sale!

The pho broth is temperature hot and very flavorful! I went for the pop-up Em's bakery . Next time, I will try lot more stuff. I saw people order sandwiches , egg rolls, and boba tea. All looked very authentic. Can't wait to go back!

I was out running errands and saw this place from the main road. I went in and was delighted to see a wide selection of boba teas. I ordered the mango tea and added the mango popping boba and some lychee and mango jelly. I absolutely loved it. It was prepared quickly and I was able to browse the market while waiting. I hope to return soon to try a sandwich as it was mentioned on the menu that the bread is from Dong Phuong which I am guessing is the popular bakery that I used to live near many years ago in New Orleans.

Delicious is all I want to say! Will return many times. The broth was so flavorful and paired well with a tea and some of the best spring rolls.

Awesome liet Asian market/restaurant! I come here for all my immediate needs for Asian grocery! I enjoy ordering my Vietnamese dessert, che suong xa hot luu, which is basically a "pomegranate" dessert but it's made of tapioca and mung bean paste. There is crushed peanuts on top so make sure you tell them no peanuts if you are allergic! They also have a delicious meatball banh mi or combo banh mi! The combo has meatballs in it too! Lots of pickled veggies bottom and top! Bread is from Dong phuong! Can't wait till Kingcake season!

I love being able to get some cooked Vietnamese food and to grocery shop as well! It's a nice stop in Prairieville.

First I thought it was just supermarket for Asian food but there was a small dining area on the side. Interesting to see that you can have a quick lunch and do some grocery shopping. I like the menu items I ordered, it was good in all aspects. The combination pho I ordered had pretty much everything in it; meat ball, soft ligaments, intestines, as well as tripe and thin meats. The soup was strong flavor with spice/ herb broth. The fried spring rolls had thicker wraps, crispy outside and soft inside. Price is not cheap, but not bad for market and a restaurant.

Food is delicious! Great place to eat clean. We have been there twice and each was time great. Service is okay could definitely be better. It's a " grocery market".Buuuuuuttt definitely a nice lil hole in the wall to eat lol.

Tried to buy tub of boba that they sold to my friends previously and was told they don't sell those it's just "inventory." When I asked if they had anymore in stock I was told they don't sell those at all. So what is the point of having them on display or for "inventory" if they are not ever for sale.

OMG ! This place has great food. I had the shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce and I can say they are a use get. Then I ordered the rare steak Pho and it's the best I've had any where. To drink I got a passionfruit iced tea with fruit jellies ad it was delicious. The staff were great as well and there is also a nice Asian market in here.

Excellent Banh Mi sandwiches. Stuffed full of meat, bright fresh veggies (the jalapeños kick), and crusty bread. Just perfect!

Excellent place if you're into Asian grocery. Variety not outstanding but plenty enough to find what you are looking for. Most important is the cleanliness of the place. It's outstanding. As long as this place is maintained like it is we will continue to do business here. Some of the other Asian grocery stores in town are just downright filthy and we no longer do business with them. Bao's Asian Market & Deli is the exception . Check them out if you like to use Asian spices and foods in your cooking at home.

This place is great!! Before Bao opened, I was having to drive 30+ minutes into Baton Rouge for simple cooking supplies from the Asian Market there. Bao is super convenient for anyone living in Prairieville & Gonzales. The store itself is super clean and all the produce is always very fresh! The pho and spring rolls are delicious too! Great customer service as well! Customer for life!!

The Thai tea is soooo good! But get the boba & then try the egg rolls! Super fresh & the peanut sauce is yummy. This place is so great. So many items in this store and there is no way you can't find what you're looking for. Go check them out. It's definitely worth it!

Not sure if this restaurant is a branch of Bao on Perkins Rd ( I think it is) but the food is great. I am a creature of habit so I usually get Bao egg rolls and the chicken rice plate with a fried egg. The Bao egg rolls come with a sweet chili sauce that takes it to a different level. I love the rice places, which included rice, Vietnamese salad and your choice of protein. I add a fried egg and most often ask for it to be fried hard because it's typically fried with a runny yolk. If i don't call ahead to order, I spend time browsing the isles of the market that is attached. There are a lot of additional options in the market from candy to fresh vegetables and meats. This is definitely a weekly/ monthly lunch stop.

Seafood pho bowl and shrimp Spring roll was amazing for our first, but not last visit. Customer service was friendly and patient. Please visit when in the area

Based solely off of Waitr *** This is the best pho ever. I got the brisket. It was so good. The broth was great. And I also got the shrimp spring rolls I think that's what they are called and they were huge and filling. The peanut sauce was great. I also got tea and the tea was super good too. I would 100% eat here again.

I'm torn. I love supporting good businesses, but I don't want this little gem to get too popular. I don't want to have to *wait* in line for the best pho broth I've ever had in Baton Rouge. And the spring rolls? Stop me now, I'm getting hungry. But I also want to give a huge shout to getting it right. This place has nailed it. Come in, order at the counter (menu on a slip of paper, lots of options), then browse the grocery while you wait for your yums. The grocery is a true godsend. All the candies, noodles, snacks, veggies, meats (frozen) that you could wish for. They've even got some kitchen/cooking implements on the back wall if you wanna up your game. Since we discovered this place, we have been back at least once a week since. Well done Bao, super happy! We'll be regulars for life!

I am so pumped this is in my neck of the woods! Now I can get Boba Tea near me! I have been "eying" this place when this would open! This market/deli place is the best combo for buying Asian products and authentic food/boba tea in my local area. I really think this is the first of its kind in our local area of Ascension! They have a variety of dry goods, sweets, frozen and fresh produce but also you can order and eat homemade Vietnamese food too! They just opened up so they only have two tables to eat but I'm sure once the word is out that they will expand. Once I stared and gawked (lol)at everything I ordered the Passion fruit Boba tea with tapioca. So good! I also ordered the shrimp and pork spring rolls with homemade sauce - so good too! I can't wait to go back and eat some more!

They've added wings - hooray! There are two kinds, and they're both great, but my favorite are the Vietnamese-style. The pho and other soups are really quite as good at Dang's, but the location is much more convenient for me.

The Beef Pho was some of the best pho I have ever eaten. The little market store has all kinds of Asian items and the staff were extremely polite. Highly recommend stopping in

What can I say about this place? I was eyeballing it before it even opened. When I inquired if they would have boba tea and they said YES.........the hearts started beaming from my eyes. Now that they have opened, I am there on atleast a weekly basis to get my tea fix...(if not every other day...). Their Banh Mi is freakin amazing. I always get the Vietnamese BBQ pork and it is just divine. It is like opening up a box of pringles, once you start you just cant stop. It just gets better with every bite. The pho is also awesome. As far as that goes, I have had the brisket and it was so good. I ordered it to go and all the ingredients are separated and you whip it up when you get home. It is very satisfying and makes you feel all warm and cozy inside like a hot home cooked meal. If you can't tell, I am very happy to have a place so close to home that has a variety of foods to shop for, has my Thai tea, and has great food. I'm so glad to see it get busy because the last thing I want is for them to leave.

I'm writing this as I'm eating a bowl of bun bo hue (spicy noodle soup) that I got to go...let me just tell you, they've perfected it. It is so flavorful! I also got the green Thai tea boba tea with tapioca pearls and it was fantastic as well. Definitely recommend this place and to top it off, they're also an Asian market. :)

LEGIT. This place has earned a spot of my takeout rotation. Super friendly, so VERY clean and fast. Their soup broths are pretty good, and their bahn mi are nicely stuffed. Love that I was also able to grab some staples and desserts while I waited for my food. Give them a chance :)

They have some really great Pho & service in the store! The only downfall is they don't answer the phone ever to take orders!!!

If negative 5 was a thing, that's what they would get. Ordered from the twice, once in person pickup and once via Waitr. Both times had the same thing, frozen raw meat and melted styrofoam boxes. Pictures are worth a thousand words, right?

Love love their Spicy Shrimp Pho, always super quick with your drinks and food. I would recommend this place.

Nice people, nice place, and reasonably prices i would love to come here more often but *shrug* nobody has "that" much money. It's just nice right now to chill and spend what you can get, like the tasty mango tea with fruit jelly. (This is all my opinion if you want a good experience buy one thing that sounds good to you and if you like it then its your opinion now) Have fun!!

We love the food and atmosphere here. But recently, the wait staff have been slow or they seem shorthanded. Hope its gets better soon because it is our favorite Asian food spot!

I'll start off by saying, the tea was great, but I didn't like any of the food I ordered. It may just be my personal taste. I ordered my food to go. I threw all of the food away and just drank my tea.

I went here a few times to pick up grocery. Very clean environment. What's great is that they carry Hi-Do banh mi. And you can buy it also so that you can make homemade curry or beef stew. Deli is good but I think its a little overprice and not restaurant quality like with restaurant. They have good selection for Asian products. Staff is friendly.

The market is a nice compact store. Has a variety of asian offerings. Came by to look for banh xeo mix. The market workers were nice and offered additional items to help with making banh xeo like bean sprouts and so forth. The space is clean and well lit. The market also offers food. I did not try this go round, but will consider the next time.

Amazing pho! I have recently fallen out of love with a lot of the other Asian restaurants around and then here comes Bao to heal my heartbreak! Super cute little market, with all your basic dish needs. Great banh mi and banh cuon bit of course the Ph đc bit is my fave!!!! A must stop for a quick lunch date.

Tried Bao for the first time today. I was pretty nervous since Dang's is my favorite spot and it's hard to replace but Dang's is far from Prairieville so I decided to give this place a try! Bao did not disappoint me! I got the regular brisket with extra meatball, so good. The broth was so delicious and the to go container even held all the pho! Spring rolls were delicious too!

New to prairieville area. I enjoy their chicken pho. Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to taste anything else on the menu. I'm sure it's delicious.

Gleefully surprised! After spending quite a bit of time in Vietnam and then San Francisco I'm always on the lookout for authentic Vietnamese Food. As I have been to several restaurants in Baton Rouge, and many have been great, none have hit the spot. Starting to lose hope Bao opened and I finally was able to go...SO HAPPY I did! The food quality, specifically the Pho and Vietnamese Iced Coffee was spot on! If looking to enjoy authentic Vietnamese then you've got to stop by (not to mention the market side has wonderful selection)!
