"Kenya 's first board-game café. like many great spots in Nairobi, is hidden away—in this case, on the 8th floor of an office building. If anything, Bao Box's location is actually a boon because the altitude offers fabulous city views, and its seemingly random location adds to the completely fun vibe of the place. Walls are stacked high with all the famous board games like Monopoly, Settlers of Catan… and some lesser-known gems including one bluntly named "Fact or Crap." Whatever your board-game poison, here lies something for you. The decidedly non-corporate decor is funky and outdoorsy with blankets and colorful cushions on pallets. A simple menu of burgers, chips, beers, wines, and soft drinks will satisfy peckish players."

The food is an afterthought, but that doesn’t keep anyone from enjoying a cold beer or glass of wine in one of the the big, colorful couches on the large balcony. Enjoyed the food, drinks and games. Went on a Sunday, its a never full place cause the area is massive. It also has a carwash, you can get your car cleaned up as you enjoy your time. Games include darts, pool table, mini golf, tennis that you pay for and board games that are free. My kids also enjoyed canvas painting, slime making, bead work etc at a cost, apprx ksh 500 each. Smooth music was playing. Massive free parking. Massive sitting areas. Vegetarian menu also available.

Bao Box has a beautiful environment — the setup, lighting, and overall vibe of the place are really impressive. The food itself is delicious, and the presentation looks great once it finally arrives. That said, the service here really needs improvement. We arrived around 2:40 PM, and it took nearly 20 minutes just to get someone to take our order. I even had to go ask for a drink myself to get things moving. By 4:15 PM, we still hadn’t received our main dishes. It’s unfortunate because this place has so much potential, but the slow service takes away from the whole experience. If management could improve the speed and attentiveness of their staff, Bao Box could easily be a top spot in Nairobi.

Ambient place and quite spacious. Good food, the platters are quite small compared to other restaurants and spots. Other than that, everything else is superb. Parking spaces with a car wash. All sorts of games and perfect for all sort of age groups and gatherings. I’d suggest you reserved a spot it gets packed quick from the afternoon

Great location but not much else to offer. The service was a bit slow and the servers seem disinterested, you can feel something is off with the attitudes but wasn't sure what that was about. The food was average at best. I had grilled chicken which was nicely seasoned but tough and overcooked. The card and board games are always a nice way to socialize. Overall, the experience was a bit underwhelming but definitely has great potential especially with the vast space.

From the moment you step into the establishment you are met with warmth and good vibes. Tastefully put together, Baobox's every space is very inviting. The food was amazing! We tried their pork chops and goat curry. Well portioned and reasonably priced as well. The service didn't leave anything to want. There are lots of games to keep you entertained. Will definitely keep coming back!
