Had the spicy chicken bao bun — soft bun and really flavourful chicken. Also tried the popcorn chicken noodles bowl; crispy chicken and perfectly cooked noodles. Delicious!

Really enjoyed my tofu bao. Still warm and crispy even after being delivered. Sweet chili sauce was not too overpowering. The cucumber salad was yummy but could use more veg 👍🏾

Google
The website says "R4) Popcorn Chicken Rice" is "Taiwanese-style fried chicken, served with cucumber, cauliflower, kale salad, pickled radish, carrot, pickled onion, corn, lotus chips, crispy shallots, sesame seeds, garlic sauce and spicy mayo". I ordered this, and it did not come with cauliflower, pickled radish, pickled onion.

Such a great place i had an incredible pork belly bao and went back to order a second highly recommend this place.

Google
Good bao but small. If you are Taiwanese and grow up eating REAL 割包, this might be a little different than you think 😆 the super salty sauce on top of the pork belly is not necessarily and it should be cilantro instead of green onion on top and peanut powder instead of crushed peanut. The bun breaks into half when I was removing the paper. But I’m just being a picky Taiwanese here. overall it’s great! You should come try if you like Taiwanese food👍🏼

Located in Urbanspace, I tried the baos for something different and the vegetarian ones were tasty. This is just not something I can have too much of but worth trying (especially if you’ve never had baos before)

Google
SMALLEST PORTIONS IN URBAN SPACE. DO NOT GO. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. THIS WAS $15.79.

I would say I had the worst lunch here, it’s so windy and cold outside and who serves cold food in this weather, the tofu was so oily, there was no taste at all, I had to throw most of it, the rice was undercooked, there was not even a pinch of salt in the food, at least food should be served as if being served to humans, I was very disappointed. NOT WORTH A SINGLE PENNY!!

Yelp
Order via Sharebite, group order for delivery. Got the Peking Duck Bao $5.99 and Pork Belly Bao $5.50. Both baos had scallion, cucumber, crushed peanuts, and hoisin sauce. The duck and pork belly were so tender and flavorful! Would love to try other items on the menu.

Yelp
I've come a few times for lunch - I usually do a combo with the popcorn chicken and the bao buns. My favorite buns are the pork belly and Peking duck. Service is usually quick (unless it's a particularly busy day with a long line). A little on the pricier side, but that's to be expected for the area. Would recommend!

Yelp
Their bowls are solid. Feels healthy LOL. I stopped by after my nail tech recommended Urban Space as a cute food hall nearby. I definitely thought Bao was one of the tastier-looking options in the building. Bummed that they were out of boba for the night (there's no boba in fidi.......!!!). Ample shared seating all throughout Urban Space. Despite a small line and only one employee at the counter, my order only took 10~ mins! RED CURRY CHICKEN: IMO not the curry I was expecting (I thought it'd be more creamy), but still tasty. More like a savory stewed chicken. The dressing is tangy & sweet, went well with the fresh veg. Didn't feel heavy. Portions are good albeit a bit pricy ($16 after taxes, before tip). I did appreciate that the menu has east Asian comfort foods, like Lu Rou, Pork Belly, and Popcorn Chicken. If I'm ever in Fidi again, I'd want to see if their Lu Rou is authentically Taiwanese :P

Yelp
I've had BAO a few times and have normally been satisfied, a tiny box of popcorn chicken and spring rolls costs $17, which is quite steep given the small portion but y ou are in FiDi. The chicken was a little gooey, which tends to gross me out otherwise the meal itself was pretty good. I was surprised at how spicy the spring rolls were. Overall a good experience - they have bubble tea if you look at the menu closely.

Yelp
Worth checking out for a quick take-away lunch. This location is in the Urban Space FiDi location as one of about 10 counters sharing an open seating area in the middle of the space. Relatively new, this food court opened around 6 months ago and thankfully isn't too crowded so far. Bao gives you a receipt after ordering with a number on it and they call numbers as the food is ready for pick up, so stick around nearby when waiting. You can also order in advance for pick up. Came here twice for lunch so far, got the red curry bowl and Lu Rou (minced marinated pork) rice bowl. Both come with veggies (salad, corn, carrots, pickled red onions, fried shallots) and a creamy house sauce drizzled on top. Pretty tasty and a terrific option for lunch! Good portion size and balance of each item within the bowl, I'm glad to have them around for lunch.

Yelp
This place is pretty decent! Got a combo that came with 2 baos and popcorn chicken. Added the bubble tea but I could do without it because it wasn't the best boba. But the baos and popcorn chicken were very delicious! They ran out of duck baos so got the pork belly and the curry chicken. Would come back to try the other items!

Yelp
It seems to be that the way I find my favorite spots are completely unexpected! Walking down Water Street, amidst a ton of street construction, I noticed this food hall, Urban Space, with lots of food names on the windows. The one that stood out to me the most was "Bao Buns". When I went inside of this food hall, I immediately looked for the spot selling bao buns. Long story short, I ordered one curry chicken bao bun just to try. It was AMAZING! I had asked the gentleman working there if it would be too spicy and his explanation was spot on: it was about a 6 in spice level, felt more like a kick of heat. The flavors were perfection, the bao buns were the softest, there was a great ratio between chicken and the toppings, everything was the perfect! I went back for a second right after going back to thank the gentlemen for the great recommendation! Next time I stop by Urban Space, I will once again go straight to Bao By Kaya, but this time I'll order one of their combos which include different variations of bao buns, and other food options like popcorn chicken, dumplings, spring rolls, etc.

Yelp
Went to Bao By Kaya for lunch on Thursday afternoon. I was impressed by their signature item, and would recommend not straying from that section of the menu. Quality: I ordered a Combo with two Baos and Popcorn Chicken, as well as an extra Bao. This is definitely a place where the Bao is the star. I tried the Pork Belly Bao, Red Curry Chicken Bao, and Peking Duck Bao. The Red Curry Chicken Bao was my favorite, extremely unique and flavorful, but each of options was worth a try. I was not crazy about the Popcorn Chicken, it felt like it had been sitting too long, which is a little concerning during a lunch rush. Quantity: More filling than you expect. Value: $12-14 for Combos. $5.50 for Baos. Ambiance: Bao By Kaya is part of the Urbanspace Food Hall in FiDi. They had a small spot right in the middle of the space. It is a bit of an awkward spot, not really creating space for those waiting for food. No individual seating at this spot, but plenty of tables in the common area. Crowd: A busy spot in the Food Hall, with at least a dozen people waiting for their orders. Service: Quick even with a fairly long line. Parking: Difficult street parking.

Yelp
Dan Dan noodles were delicious. Just stumbled up this place but I would definitely eat here again.

Yelp
Not a fan, the pork was very grisly the bao flat was sweet the combination was not to my liking. The texture of the chicken was hard and cold. This was an overpriced meal.

Morgan E.

Yelp
incredible quality, at great prices. I highly recommend the bao, spring rolls, and sesame noodles.

Yelp
The baos are pretty stellar. I'm a pork belly fan because of the fattys and the cow bow had a yuzu hint that made it all super tasty. I opted for the dumplings and those were super fun too! They held their crunch and reminded me of my grandma's fried dumplings. Tasty! They also sell the buns alone and I was tempted to bring some home....it's such a fluffy soft cloud, yummy!

Yelp
Reasonably priced by you fat what you pay for. Greasy dumplings and Bao filled with ground chicken pellets Can't argue with the price can argue with the lack of taste

Yelp
Good portion of tender meat in pork belly bao, sweet sauce, soft bun, to go box is nice.
