"When Chef Choi Haeng-rak opened Bao Haus here in his hometown of Busan, his extensive overseas training at last found a place to flourish. His restaurant offers simple and casual Taiwanese-style dishes. By lowering the threshold for fine cuisine, the chef ushers diners into the familiar yet exotic world of the different variations of Chinese cuisine. The menu features dishes loaded with inherent flavors and executed with Chef Choi’s novel twists, including bao (Taiwanese steamed buns), lu rou fan (Taiwanese braised pork rice bowl), mapo tofu, and deep-fried eggplant. Since the eatery is housed in a compact space, the wait can be long without a reservation." - Michelin Inspector

Great Baos are served here. Soft and fluffy yet packed with flavour. Seating can be reserved using the tablet, which needs a Korean phone number to be able to use. I do not have a Korean number, but the hostess on the door reserved a spot and called me when my table was ready. English is widely spoken and the service was fast. It gets popular so arrive early or expect a short wait. The line moved quickly. The mapo tofu and fried rice was spicy, delicious and filling.

Walked past and noticed the Michelin Bib Gourmand sign, so decided to give it a try. The food was okay decent but not mind-blowing. In hindsight, I probably should’ve paired it with a drink 😂 Overall, it was a fine experience, especially if you’re already in the area and curious to try a Michelin-listed spot.

Extremely overrated and wouldn't visit again. Food was ordinary at best and definitely not worth waiting for. Fried rice: okay but not restaurant quality, more like version you can make at home. Tofu: blend taste. Lumpy starch that wasn't mixed properly. Beef noodle: ordinary and you can easily find better noodle elsewhere. Bao: okay, not surprising. Bottom of bao was soggy and overall balance was disappointing. Eggplant: sauce was a bit off. Sprinkling nuts felt excessive. Overall, disappointing experience.

A place you should never go alone. I saw someone go in alone on a weekday, and since there was no waitlist for solo seats, I booked one on the tablet at the entrance. There are only 5 solo seats in total, and there weren’t many people waiting for tables of two, so I thought I’d get in quickly. But after I booked, a ton of people started reserving for two or more. That’s when the problem started. For example, if my number was 87, customers with numbers 88 and 89 (who reserved for two) would be seated first. That part I could understand. But when it passed number 100 and I had already been waiting for an hour, it became a different story. And that actually happened. Here’s why: out of the 5 solo seats, there were people sitting like this—2 people, 1 person, 2 people. But when two people left, they filled the seats with another two customers instead of sending them to a two-person table. So basically, until all the solo diners I first saw left, my seat never opened up.

10/10 ! Delicious food and great service. I went by myself and got a table immediately. When I left I noticed there were a few people queue so it seems it can get busy.

The Taiwanese Bao is something you must try if you like pork and coriander. It's like a mix of a burger and a dumpling. There's a waiting line mostly no matter when you go, you need to use the little machine next to the entrance to make a reservation. I had 3 groups waiting ahead and it took almost 20 min to get in. P.S. They have veggie options for some dishes

This restaurant always has a queue and doesn't accept booking so you need to get there and put your name on the waiting list and wait until your number is being called. We got there around 11:30 am just when the shop opened but our queue was already at position 39. You can pre order your food when you enter the wait list which I suggest you do for a quick arrival of your food when seated. We got seated at 12:45 and had our food within a few minutes. I ordered some drink, Bao highball, once we got our seats. We had a vegan dan dan noodle, a regular dan dan noodle, a pork bao, and a serve of sweet fried eggplant for 2 people. If you can eat anything I suggest you go with a set for 2 people. As my husband is vegetarian, we opted to go with vegan dan dan noodles for him. The food was very tasty and the staff was friendly. There was a bit of an issue with the booking system when we were waiting in front of the shop, the waiting screen went from 3 queue in front of us to you are finished eating please review, which stresses me out after more than an hour wait. The door guys said he pressed the wrong button 😑 The food is great but I wouldn't say it's worth more than an hour wait time. If you are in the area and can put your name down for early lunch or dinner then do it!

Insanely good food - the pork bao and the beef noodle soup are a must try. Very helpful and friendly service. The mango beer is amazing too!
