Went to Baoburg for a quick lunch today and ordered a Vermicelli noodle bowl with pork and the shrimp pad Thai. Both were very good and solid choices. Good value for the price as well! Also had a cute outdoor patio in the back. New go to spot for Thai food and other Asian cuisine as their menu was expansive!

I love this place!! Everything on the manu is amazing. We got beef short rib ramen, which is my favorite. Classing bao, which has braised pork belly, special sauce, and penuts on top, must have. Also, their larb wing, little spicy, but o my, so good!! They have great cocktail options and thai beers as well. The inside feels like you are in Thailand, the decor, and vibe. They have outdoor sitting as well. Overall, I do recommend that place to everyone.

Baoburg in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, is a hidden gem that truly captivates with its eclectic and creative decor, blending vibrant colors and unique art pieces that create a lively atmosphere. The menu showcases a delightful mix of flavors, particularly the Banh Mi sandwich, which is a standout with its perfect balance of fresh ingredients and bold seasonings. Other Thai dishes are equally impressive, bursting with flavor and authenticity. It’s truly disheartening to see this location close; Baoburg has offered a unique dining experience that will be sorely missed in the neighborhood.

I found this restaurant on resy and i love the atmosphere. Its as if im in a tropical no frills restaurant in the Philippines 🥰 I also came in on a Tuesday night so it was empty. They have a great selection of food, got the steak bao, spring rolls, pad thai, khao soi and the pho. Extraordinary food, we loved every bite of it. Also got some cocktails: Vietnamese coffee martini and butterfly effect, both amazing drinks! One thing i would note is that the AC wasn’t on and it felt a bit humid so we were all sweating but the food was great nonetheless.

I’ve been here twice now. Food is delicious and prices are good. I enjoy the Asian-tropic vibes! Will be back again.

Cute spot with delicious food. Saw this online and decided to go out to Green Pointe and try it with a friend. You order at the counter upon arrival and find a table. There was only one other person when we arrived, so plenty of seats. The outdoor space looked nice for a warmer day. Menu was pretty clear and we tried the Steak Bao (yummy....I could have had 2 of those) and the Garlic Chicken (only down side was the heap of Cilantro on there....not a fan...) this was also good. Chicken cooked perfectly and mixed well with the sauce and rice. If I'm out in this area again would keep on a short list for good eats.

We’ve been loving and craving Baoburg a lot lately! The first time we ordered, we did a lot of dishes to sample everything but it was a lot of food. If you’re going to eat here you HAVE to do the Bao buns. I would skip on the pad Thai and fried rice, they were good but there are better places in the neighborhood for those two dishes. The next time we ordered we skipped on the main dishes and just stuck to an assortment of their Bao buns. Favorites include the classic, steak, and shrimp tempura!

Google
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Baoburg and it was an absolute delight! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service from passionate staff. The vegetable bao buns were a highlight - bursting with flavor and perfectly crafted. The chicken satay was incredibly savory, and the veggie crisp was a crispy, fried dream. I can’t recommend this place enough for a delicious and memorable dining experience!

Yelp
Sad this place is apparently closing down soon! Solid lunch specials here, you get a rice or noodle dish with an appetizer. It's a good deal for $13, great for those work from home days. Funky tropical decor inside the restaurant. Love their pad kra pow, has a bit of a spicy kick to it. Check it out before it's gone!

Yelp
Fast service, small spot in green point but highly efficient We tried a few different baos on the menu, loved the classic one

Yelp
My friends and I came here after our friends birthday. We sat in the back section and they were very kind to let us combine tables to make a massive table. You order individually at the front which was nice. My husband and I shared the Roti Canai, Khao Soi and Wings. The roti was good, but I wish they gave us more roti in the ratio. We had so much of the sauce left that we would've loved to us on something. The khao soi was absolutely amazing. I will say it was definitely the oiliest kaho soi I've ever had, but it was delicious and the duck was so tender. The wings you can probably skip. They were good, but nothing special. My husband is obsessed with their kaho soi so I'm sure we will find ourselves back at some point haha

Yelp
Cute little restaurant in green pointe with a private backyard seating area. Staff is nice you just order your food at the register and they bring it out. I came here one time before and I can't recall the names of what we ordered but it was all good. Today I ordered the classic bao which was a mix of different flavors and really tasty. The order comes with 2 of the same flavor for $12. The bao bun was really soft and fluffy, the pork belly melted in my mouth and the toppings were a big mix of flavors that tasted like a bbq mixed with peanuts and mixed in w the creamy mayo. Overall this bun is really good and I'll be back to try the others!

Yelp
Service 6/10 While the service was friendly, improvements can be made. My experience was sub par. For example, the waitress never returned to fill our water. They mixed up our check and combined it with another table. The bus boy didn't understand English. While he was super fast, he missed the basics. For example, he bought out food but didn't bring utensils and plates. This happened with other tables too. Food 9/10 Food came out relatively quick. The taste was great! Khao soi - ramen noodles with duck. I got to say the curry broth was excellent. Recommend! Sen yai yaowarat - on the average side. Nothing amazingly unique but it was still good. I'm always a fan of thick flat noodles. Ambiance - 7.5/10 If you sit outside in the summer be careful of bugs. The vibe was Chill and cozy. Inside seating can get hot, dim lighting. Nice outside cabana. Overall dine for the food!

Tansy W.

Yelp
Very divey spot that's very trippy inside (eg lava lamps). We just grabbed a classic Bao ($12 for two - pork belly) and it was fine but nothing special. The sauce and toppings were good as was the texture of the bao but I thought the pork belly was a little hard to be honest.

Bianca S.

Yelp
Went here for Valentine's Day never having seen the inside. The restaurant is small with seating for about 12 people across 6 tables but it was nice that they took reservations and we had a cute little candle lit table. The whole place felt very warm and welcoming. To order you go up to the counter and they bring your food and drinks to your table. Now the food was really good and we can't wait to go back. Everything tasted fresh and well seasoned and was just an explosion of flavor with every bite.

Yelp
I visited the old location of Baoburg years ago and was a big fan - and the new one is just as good! Walked in at 6:30 on a Friday, and there was no wait for 2. They have both indoor and (cute) outdoor seating, but the weather wasn't great, so we sat inside. I tried: + Frozen lychee quarantini + Smoked criminal + Classic bao + Sweet purple potato Fries + Roti canai + Khao soi Drinks were great. All of the food was really tasty; the fries and khao soi were especially amazing. Will be back!

Anna S.

Yelp
Grandmas Chicken and rice arrived completely raw ! Do not order. Not sure how this is possible but super uncooked and majorly concerning.

Nancy A.

Yelp
The classic boa burger is tasty with lots of sauces that make it juicy. The meat is tender and rich with juice. The interior decor of the restaurant is hip and trendy.

Sai B.

Yelp
TLDR: A great stop in for fun vibes and delicious asian cuisine. Definitely recommend stopping by here when you're in the Williamsburg area. The drinks are fun and tasty and the ambience of the restaurant feels like the best kind of dive bar. I highly recommend ordering the Lemongrass noodles( they were bursting with flavor) and shrimp bao was well presented and delightfully crunchy/spicy. The highlight for me was the garlic chive appetizer- so unique and delicious!

Trevor C.

Yelp
We enjoyed the cocktail offerings, and the combination of starters and main dishes were sharable and delicious!

Steven Z.

Yelp
Food: We came in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by their lunch specials. Ordered the Pad Krapow and Lemongrass Noodles set. Both sets came with a good portion sized meal for under $15 on top of a small appetizer. We got edamame and the lava custard bun. Pad Krapow with a fried egg was solid, nicely season, and a good kick from the peppers. It was my first time trying Thai Lemongrass noodles and it was so good. Noodles were good textured and super fragrant with a nice acid to spice balance. Would definitely recommend. 4/5 Service: Service was decent at this restaurant. You order at the front and pay before you get your food. Servers were attentive and checked up on us multiple times. 5/5 Ambiance: The ambiance of this place mimics a traditional mom/pops shop in Thailand. There's an outdoor eating area outback but it was raining so didn't get to check that out. 4/5 ambiance for a casual dinner/lunch.

Adri A.

Yelp
This place is awesome! It's a tiny, funky, hole in the wall with vibrant a decor and a cool vibe! The menu is pretty extensive with so many yummy options! I decided to try the Hanoi noodles which was phenomenal! I was hesitant because the dish is listed as chilled noodles but the dish is still served warm. Served with vermicelli noodles, fresh mixed greens and herbs, a fried spring roll, and yummy sauce! Large portion but on the healthier side. My friend ordered the drunken noodles, extra spicy. She was sweating bullets with the spice, but it was DELICIOUS! One entree is big enough to be shared between two people, or you might have some leftovers to take home.

Tabby C.

Yelp
The bao buns were a 10/10. The meat was so well seasoned and everyone at the restaurant seemed to be ordering this. The sandwich was also delicious.

Jessica C.

Yelp
Such a good spot for thai/asian food. Great location in Williamsburg. You order at the cashier and can sit anywhere. The inside area is cute, with a neon fish tank. We decided to sit outside in the hut. This is a secluded spot with room for 5 tables. It has the best neon lights, and kitchy decor all around (skeleton, signs, etc.) The food options were great, and they allowed subs for vegan/vegetarian diners. I got the szechuan chicken with rice, which was a large plate size. I also got the thai iced coffee, which was very sweet (condensed milk) and creamy. Its starbucks signature drink - level sweet, so it was a bit much for me. Prices were decent: $16 for the sze chicken, and other entrees ranged 18-28 $. Drinks were $4-5 or $16 for cocktails. Overall a cute place for lunch, or to grab drinks during the summer!

Diane L.

Yelp
Bao Buns and food was good. Ordered the steak Bao buns. Steak was flavorful and plentiful amount, buns were soft and fluffy. Came with a friend and we also shared the garlic chicken, which was tasty. Ambiance was dark and funky. Another review called it a Haunted tiki bar theme, and I'd agree. Right near the G train, this was my first experience in Greenpoint. Casual, order at the front and sit kind of place, so no need for table service.

Melissa A.

Yelp
Big fan of the lychee iced tea, which is garnished with a delightful piece of lychee fruit. The Thai tea was equally great, but I have to say I think the lychee iced tea is superior. Generous portion for the rib eye pho -- charming flavor combo and excellent noodles (as one would expect, as Chef Bao Bai is known as the 'queen of noodles.' You might recognize her, as she recently won an episode of "Chopped." Great food, even better prices.

Julianna Y.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday afternoon, was not busy at all. The waitress that greeted us was not the most welcoming when taking our order and telling us where we can sit. The food was also relatively overpriced for a mediocre meal. The ambiance however is really cute, it had a back patio that had a beach/Hawaiian tiki vibe. This is perfect if you're looking for a quick bite to eat since it's a self serve restaurant. They also had a lot of seating in the back for groups, and a cute causal date spot. The pork baos were not traditionally taiwan, because they had too much kewpie Mayo (unless you love that stuff) . The shrimp tempura bao was decent but was lacking ingredients. The kra pow was delicious, and flavorful, recommend getting it with a fried egg. The chive pancakes were fried perfectly and tasted really yummy. The soy sauce they give you pairs really nicely with the texture. Both the Thai iced tea and frozen lychee martini were really flavorful, would recommend both of these drinks!

Chris F.

Yelp
The food, drinks, ambiance and service were absolutely perfect. My wife and I came in kind of late for dinner and despite the restaurant being busy everyone was attentive and accommodating. The cocktails (we got the Bikini Bottom and Lucifer's Blush) were creative, colorful and fun, perfect reflections of the restaurant's vibe. Our food (jumbo lump crab omelet and crispy sautéed noodle with shrimp) was flavorful, hot and came fast. (We also saw a lot of people getting the burgers and LOVING them.) Thank you all for such a great evening, we really appreciate the hospitality. It's amazing how much you're able to do in such a small space. So glad to have a restaurant like this in the neighborhood.

Lisa S.

Yelp
This food is amazing. It is a hole in the wall restaurant. From the street it looks like a take out joint, but has a really nice backyard space. You order at the counter and the food comes to your table. The Khao soi duck noodle is PHENOM as well as the kra paow. You have to check this place out!!

Patrycja W.

Yelp
Food and drinks were delicious. Food was flavorful but not spicy which I was surprised by. I love spice but my non spice tolerating bf was happy the Szechuan chicken wasn't too spicy. The steak bao buns were filling and to die for. The butterfly effect drink was gorgeous and so tasty. I loved the frozen spin on the lychee martini as well. The staff were really nice and helped surprise my sister with a mango sticky rice for her birthday. The food came really quickly too. The ambiance was cute with beach them and a fish tank and outdoor and indoor options.

Grace L.

Yelp
This place didn't look like much on the outside, but some of their food was really good. It's a super casual place, you order in the front and pick your table either inside or outside. Once they call your order, you pick it up and bring it to your table and afterwards, throw away your own trash. The outside seating area is super cute and have huge tables. It was relatively empty on a Sunday night. Their menu is also pretty extensive and they have a variety of asian foods and a lot of different cocktails. One gripe I have with this place is that everything is disposal (plates, bowls, utensils) which is pretty wasteful. Rib eyes Pho ($15) - super oily and did not taste like Pho. Do not get this unless you want to down oil. Price is a little expensive when you get great pho for a little less in Manhattan. Pad Thai ($12) - this was really good and inexpensive. Portion size is massive and had an authentic flavor and look. Choice between steak and chicken (no extra cost). I got the steak option and there was a generous amount of it and it was super tender. This is definitely the reason for the 5 stars. They also have the option of mock duck, so I think you can ask for any dish vegan. Overall, definitely get the pad Thai.

Sharm S.

Yelp
Went here today since we were in Brooklyn and it was so delicious omg! I'm veggie and was so excited for all the options. I got veggie bao buns, spring rolls and chive cake. We also got noodles, roti canal & chicken over rice. Everything was so fresh and delicious and hot! The bao buns were absolute perfection! They have indoor seating as well as outdoor that is covered and heated. Such cute decor, friendly staff and a clean spot. I would pick up or order delivery if I were close by! Open now with safety measures in place. Please support your local restaurants!

Yelp
Baoburg in Williamsburg is a quirky Southeast Asian comfort food restaurant with a haunted tiki bar themed backyard. For dinner we got the creamy Khao Soi and Singaporean noodles alongside a classic bao and cocktails. For dessert we got the ovaltine roti topped with coconut ice cream. As someone who grew up drinking ovaltine, the dessert really leaned into the nostalgic flavor ovaltine evokes for many Southeast Asians. Baoburg is a great spot for a casual bite in a fun, skeleton-accented backyard space

Nickey L.

Yelp
Following a bunch of NYC IG food accounts, I came across Baoburg in the summer, having found a video of their chef's table. I was looking for a fun dinner to host and decided to pull the trigger on Baoburg. Having many traditional Thai feasts in my home country, I felt very nostalgic to have the opportunity to eat in such a traditional style among friends. I started communication via email with chef Suchanan. I was able to easily book the experience for 14 guests. At $50 PP this was such a fun and memorable foodie experience. We all arrived and were seated in the backyard patio area. The rain didn't bother us much as it was covered. The presentation was phenomenal. The menu included vegetarian options, pork, fish, chicken and much more! I fought my friends off for the red snapper, but there was plenty to go around. Naturally I ran through a dozen frozen lychee martinis as my drink of the night. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. I highly recommend Baoburg for any event (corporate or personal), or if you're just in the mood for some great Thai food!

Sara R.

Yelp
Really cute intimate spot. Loved the decor, loved the drinks and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the regular bao and the Kraw pao. Would definitely return and try more things!

L K.

Yelp
Delicious, I've never had a bad meal here yet. Bao steak is super flavorful. Papaya salad was delicious as well. Pad Thai is a small portion. Only feeds one.

Jen C.

Yelp
Cozy casual spot with dine in and backyard outdoor seatings. We got the classic bao (pork belly) $10, shrimp tempura bao $12, roti canai $10, kra pow $14, and Frozen Mango Lassi Daiquiri $13. The classic bao was out of the world amazing, the meat melts in your mouth and they are huge pieces! This is now my favorite pork bun place. The shrimp tempura was also very delicious. There is a lot of caramelized soy sauce and mayo on the baos, which I loved, but you may ask for less! The roti canai sauce came with potatoes and chicken pieces, it was good but only came with 1 piece of roti. We had a lot of sauce leftover so we ordered kra pow (good portion)! There is a bit of spice to it. The cocktail was not super strong but I enjoyed it! You order at the counter, they will bring the food/water to you with disposable plate and utensils. You throw everything out in the backyard. Card and cash accepted, no Apple Pay.

Yelp
I heard about Baoburg via Chef Baobao's cat making a news story. I like Thai food, so I've had Baoburg on my list to visit for a while. Lychee Iced tea - a bit too sweet for me. Bao - must have! Classic Bao - pork with sauce, very flavorful. Would buy again. Steak Bao - lots of little pieces of savory steak. Juicy, flavorful. Shrimp Bao - tempura shrimp has a little crunch. As expected Mussel scallion pancake, had too much of a sea flavor to me and my group. I liked it, but it was not a hit with my friends. I got it because I have a memory of a really good oyster egg pancake from Thailand that I have not been able to find anywhere. Roti canai is very good. The roti is soft and flaky, like a thinner Indian paratha. The chicken curry was very flavorful and tasty, but kind of on the sweet side. Panang curry on rice very tasty, although, after the roti canai, a little redundant. Lava Bao - salted creamy egg yolk center. Order comes with 3 Bao, while the appetizer orders only came with 2. It's good to try, not the best I've had.

Demi A.

Yelp
Came here super random and loved the food and atmosphere! I'm unsure exactly what I ate as I told the women to kind of surprise me but boy did she pick something good!! Spring rolls were deep fried and tasted so good and the star of the show was the chicken dish which taste so god damn good.. I wish I lived in the area to eat this often

N K.

Yelp
Look! another vibey, offbeat Williamsburg staple for food and cocktails. In all fairness, it actually is worth a stop for the fun, kitschy atmosphere (reggae Thai beach feels) and a menu that touts some lesser-known northern Thai dishes. Khao soi (which packs zero punch in the way of spice), egg custard bao, and lychee daiquiris were the highlight. And the downfall -- and by that I mean 'hard to down' fall -- was the classic pork belly bao. I'm talking lowest-grade cut of fat you wouldn't consume if you were starving with a 4:1 fat to meat ratio. It was like they repurposed a discard pile of pork belly fat, neatly placed it into its bao bed, and sneakily concealed the crime in a fudge-ton of mayo, toppings, and sauce. Now imagine biting into said unassuming bao and being rewarded with gelatinous content just slipping out like slop and flubber. Yeah. Not ideal. The cost of pork belly might have made this menu item a temporary COVID casualty, but if that's not the case, might just be time for that classic bao to take a bow.

Steph C.

Yelp
fast service and very lowkey! food was the most authentic thai food I have had in a really long time. the decorations and music really bring it all together. cute and fun candle lit dinner for 2.

Dominique N.

Yelp
Trendy spot that offers pan-asian buns filled with meat or veggies. A little pricey but the vibe is cool inside, worth eating in for a small meal!

Kemi A.

Yelp
My return visit here (a year later? or more?) left me desiring more. I did order different dishes this time around. I was super hungry after a midday massage nearby and I decided to swing by for a late lunch. Weekend day around 5pm, not too busy and I was given a seat right away. Looking at the menu to familiarize myself prior to arrival, I decided I was going to get the Roti Canai (w/chicken) and the Pad thai. Having other places to be, I wanted something quick and straight to the point. Oh and the coconut juice to wash it down. The price of the coconut water was a bit much but I was trying to get my electrolytes on. The food came in due time, and what struck me as odd was that they brought out both dishes at the same time. I mean I didn't mind but I had to divide my attention between eating the Roti and eating my pad thai which I did not want to get cold. Roti Canai- I was really disappointed in this dish. Out of the 2, it was the one I was looking forward to the most. The roti itself was super oily/greasy. Like ridiculously greasy. I could not even enjoy it with the sauce. What you see in the photo is what I left as I could not stomach to eat all that grease. Pad Thai- It was meh. I didn't get any robust flavors that made me aware that i was eating restaurant pad thai. I was basically underwhelmed with my meal here. And you would think that when you are hungry EVERYTHING usually tastes really good. Nope, not this time.

F F.

Yelp
The veggie bao was amazing! Cute little spot with a big backyard patio for sitting. Would recommend checking this place out

Henry T.

Yelp
This is honestly such a cute little restaurant that you can easily walk by. The walking room indoors is super tiny, but they have the most vibey, hipster, cute backyard outdoors area with wooden tables and cool decor. Service was also really nice, but this is the type of place where u order and pay for your food directly. Khao Soi ($18) - I assume this is their signature dish, which is like a thick Thai curry broth with noodles and a duck leg. The curry broth had a ton of flavor and just the right amount of spice- a kick, but not painful. The duck leg was actually also huge and yielded a lot of meat, which I liked a lot. In addition, there were these pickled peppers/veggies that were a perfect addition to the soup. Since everything was so rich and creamy, the feeling of biting into something picked was refreshing. All these flavors packed into one meal made this worth every penny. Overall, I'd highly recommend coming to this place to try out the Khao Soi. That dish is a must get. I'll come back to try some of the other cool things too.

Joanne Y.

Yelp
I'll start by saying that the khao soi is 5 stars! I would definitely come back to get that again any day :) Very cool trendy spot that you wouldn't expect to get such amazing authentic Thai dishes at. You order at the front and can sit either inside or in their back patio. Khao soi - creamiest broth mixed with the most tender chicken. One of the most magical and flavorful things I've had in a minute! Felt like home comfort food for me and I'm not even Thai. Mussels pancake - omg so glad I ordered this, this sounded like the oyster pancakes which I haven't had in ages, but this might arguably be better. Love the crispy batter which was a bit chewy and the mussels were plentiful and delicious. Classic pork belly baos - this was the only miss for me, too much sauce on the baos and gets very overwhelming, I think this would've been great way more simple. The only thing I couldn't finish. Thai tea - too sweet

Yelp
We were in the neighborhood and discovered this gem! I thought it was underwhelming at first because the restaurant looked small from the front but as soon as you walk in, there were many tables and the cutest backyard seating area. Perfect because it was such a nice day out! There were multiple tables outside including ones underneath a covered area in case it rains, plus fans for the heat. Every table also included hand sanitizer which I thought was very thoughtful. Oh and there was an aquarium outside! I wish I took a pic of that. Ordering Process: We order our food and pay inside at the cashier. The waiter gives us a ping pong ball with our number on it. We wait at our table outside for our number to be called on the little monitor. Then we go in and get our food. We ordered the Classic bao, roti canai and Hanoi noodles. All of them were so flavorful and amazing. I will definitely be back to try more of the items. Overall food was great and the atmosphere was excellent!

Justin W.

Yelp
We came for dinner and sat out in the back where they have plenty of tables. It's an interesting concept where you find your own place to sit then go up to the counter to order. You'll know your food is ready when you see your number in the big red screen in the back. There were tons of mosquitos at night which I'd highly recommend not dinning back there in the evening. It was also extremely dark and difficult to see our food. I had to flip my phone and use it as a table light with the flash light and placed a cup over it. Slight bit of a buzz kill but it didn't take too much from our food experience. We ordered the phad Thai and Singapore noodles. Both were good! Pretty authentic and nice portions. We also ordered beer which was a perfect pairing for a hot summer night. The dumplings were my favorite! The staff is nice although there is very little interactions with them. Some may prefer this! Now that I think about it would also be nice to come alone. It has a chill vibe to it. Would definitely come back and try it again!

Hannah K.

Yelp
Good food, lots if options. Super casual. Each bao order comes with two so if you're getting them to eat maybe go with a friend get an order for yourself and one to share. 4 was way too many. The bao bun gets a little dry ask for extra sauce. Also super messy grab lots if napkins (or maybe that's just me)

Theresa L.

Yelp
Ordered Grandma's Chicken over Rice on Seamless for pickup. Food was ready when I got there. I was excited to try this place out since I've seen some good reviews. Unfortunately, this was disappointing and underwhelming. Chicken had no flavor and was dryyyyyyyy. Thank goodness it came with a sauce to douse that chicken. Grandma, what happened?!?

Deb A.

Yelp
3stars for appetizers: I've had better bao. The pork bao is served in a tea cup , topped with scallion toppings and placed on a steamer ,served with 2 bao. 4 stars tempura bao. It's unique mix of crunchy tempura and soft bao. Served warm and delicious. 4 stars Grilled marinated pork: small portion of rice with a lot of lean grilled marinated spicy pork. I would order this again. A friend ordered it non spicy, she said it was just ok.

Shannon W.

Yelp
Awesome little spot, I am so glad we stumbled upon this after a few drinks in Greenpoint! First and foremost, I have not had the feeling like I was back in Southeast Asia since I dined here. When we arrived we were escorted to the back of the restaurant where we sat on little plastic chairs. As I took in the senses all around me including the the smell of Thai spices and curry, the bright, colorful lights, and the loud noises surrounding us, I felt as if I had been transported back to Thailand. As in typical Thai tradition, menus were hastily handed to us as well as two waters, and the quickly moving waitress said she would be right back. Moments later she came back and asked if we were ready to over. My goodness, I barely had two minutes to have a think! My gf ordered a fantastic semi spicy martini and I went with a sweeter white wine (perfect with Thai spices). When the waitress came back with our drinks we put in our food order which included: grandma's chicken over rice and the Khao Soi. Unsurprisingly, the food maybe took a max of 10 minutes tops to reach our table. The grandma's chicken was good (typical rice and chicken dish)...but the noodles were 100x better. There was so much flavor in these noodles, and I loved the broth they were in. I also loved the crispy noodles on top. Furthermore, the duck meat was so nice and tender! The dish was such a flavor overload, and an interesting mix of textures (liquid broth, chewy meat, and crunchy noodles)! I highly recommend this dish and would legit come from Jersey to Brooklyn just to have it again.

Yelp
Unassuming spot near the park. It is an order at the counter and pick up your food type of place so if you want a full service experience, this may not be the place for you. They do have a nice outdoor patio, but in the summer be prepared to be eaten by mosquitos! They do have bug spray available but unfortunately they were all empty. I got the pork bowl which was good, but wish the belly was a little less fatty and a bit crispier. The other items on the menu looked good so will be open to trying others if I'm back in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Got the Roti Canai (vegetarian) to split and the N5 Singaporean Noodles with Mock Duck, and the Lava Bao (came as 3 baos) for dessert. If you're ordering vegetarian, tell the wait staff to omit the fish sauce. It's quite a common ingredient in southeast asian dishes. Even without the fish sauce, the noodles were flavorful. The mock duck was so delicious and looked convincingly like real meat. The roti canai flatbread was crisp and yummy and the Lava Bao (known more commonly as phoenix buns or egg yolk buns) really hit the spot with the tasty, runny yolk. The portions are a bit small so if you're really hungry, make sure to order a starter too. I really wanted to try the Frozen Mango Lassi Daiquiri but alas they were out! They have a back yard for outdoor dining but the lighting is weirdly purple and dim.

Yelp
The flavors are excellent. Its a local spot I buy food from. I finally dine in and I was little disappointed because of hygiene problem. I order a noodle and it was topped with cilantro..the lady who worked in the front used her hand to grab it and throw it on top of my noodle when I saw her scratched her head a few time already and keep touching her face and mask..is fine I took the cilantro out..but I realized she uses her hand on all the noodle that was served..please realized its a problem.
