Google
Love the Baonanas! A cozy spot with a warm, homely vibe. They serve light, fluffy, and freshly made banana pudding that truly hits the spot and generous with its ingredients though price is a bit higher. The original flavor is outstanding—delicious with just the right level of sweetness. The ube flavor is also worth a special mention for its rich, comforting taste. Friendly staff and excellent service make the experience even better.

Google
This place offers a variety of banana puddings and is truly a hidden gem in Jersey City. The flavors are excellent—not overly sweet—and the staff is friendly and welcoming. I also tried the ube pudding and loved it. Highly recommend stopping by when you’re craving something sweet. Just a heads-up: parking can be a bit challenging.

Google
This is my first time visiting Baonanas Cafe. I’ve heard about it from my friends, and I decided to go today just to give it a try! Their pudding was so abundantly good. It was so creamy, flavorful, and scrumptious, especially their cookies and cream, and matcha pudding. So far, I immediately fell in love with their puddings. One of the staff members named Celia is friendly, attentive and delightful. She went out of her way to ensure I was completely satisfied with my experience. I’ll definitely come back with 1-2 friends to have their pudding again. It’s highly recommended for those who crave a soft, creamy dessert!”

Google
We tried tiramisu and mango sticky rice…..it is above & beyond amazing. Definitely come again soon to try other amazing deserts.

Google
Just found out about this cute little spot the other day and I'm so happy I did. The food puddings were great. You can definitely dine in or take out. They have games you can play while your sitting there enjoying yourself. They also offer a gluten free option as well. It's a very clean and cozy place to grab a nice sweet treat. The staff was also very welcoming and helpful. I got to taste the puddings before I purchased them and I'm glad that's an option because it helped me narrow down what I wanted. I will definitely be coming back again.

Google
Very cute and quaint location, I hadn’t checked out the back but the inside was bright and calm vibe. I came with the intent to try popular flavors I saw on TikTok but I got there and there were so many other flavors to try. My favorite was the blueberry cheesecake. I got it served with the lychee non banana flavor fresh strawberries and passion fruit drizzle. Rose who prepared my order and her co worker were very nice. I got a half pint and it was soo much I put it in the rest in the freezer and I think I might be on to something lol it doubles as a good ice cream

Nilam P.

Google
Super cute pudding cafe!! Drink menu is creative & tons of options to pick from. Delicious flavor combos for the banana pudding (the Nutella & cookie butter were soo good!). The pudding itself isn’t that sweet compared to others I’ve had. Some flavors weren’t available when I went (i.e Sat 8pm: Thai tea, lychee rose, cookie butter & strawberry banana for pudding flavors). A little sad bc I wanted to try those flavors however staff is very generous in letting you try the different flavors before deciding. I was still able to try several flavors and had a good experience. Street parking is tight but it’s worth it.

Guna Shanmukha G.

Google
It a gem nestled in the area. Definitely a must try. The OG banana always hits the spot. Ube is also a pretty good option. They have a couple Vegan Gluten free options for folks with dietary restrictions.

Yelp
I love the concept of a build your own banana pudding! They have so many flavors and toppings to choose from. I really like the OG, ube and matcha flavored ones the most
google avatar

Joyce L.

Yelp
I saw this place on YouTube! I realized it was close by and wanted to check it out! They are homemade banana pudding! There's seating indoors but they also have a cute outdoor set up! Service is good and they offer samples There's the OG and then added other flavors. Additionally they are known for their iced lattes. We got the ube latte and it was pretty good! They are pricey but worth getting a scoop! $6 per single scoop!

Yelp
I was invited to a lunch recently, and was in a pinch to get a sweet treat as a token of appreciation. This place popped up on my map and as a banana pudding enthusiast I absolutely had to come check it out. It was a little annoying that they had already run out of party trays and so I had to settle for getting 2 pints instead. The girls at the register were super friendly though, and tried everything to make the packaging look super cute and presentable. The ube banana pudding is so unique and to die for. The regular banana pudding is also really really good. Overall, I also really like the aesthetic of this place, you could totally sit here and enjoy your dessert. My friends absolutely devoured both the puddings I got, and they were a total hit. If you are in JC, this has to be your go to dessert spot.
google avatar

Gianna S.

Yelp
Baonanas is a really unique, founded-in-Jersey City dessert spot. It is set up like a fro-yo or ice cream line where you can pick your size and flavor, then add toppings. The banana flavor is *really* strong, even when mixed with other flavors. There were 2-3 dairy free options as well. I also got the "Tito Arnold Palmer" which was iced tea mixed with calamansi, a really tart citrus fruit. Delicious and less than $5 for a really large cup! There's chairs and tables inside and out, or you can take it to go.
google avatar

Nina H.

Yelp
Omg so yum! My fav is the OG and rose lychee. Tbh it's a bit sweeter for my taste but the lychee flavor was probably my favorite because it wasn't insanely sweet. However I should've known this because this is a Filipino owned shop and Filipino desserts are a bit more on the sweeter side in my opinion. It's a very cute place. Very good service and really unique banana pudding flavors.
google avatar

Lisa T.

Yelp
This is my top favorite place in jersey! I come here almost every week and sometimes even twice a week. I love the different flavors they offer and the ube is my top flavor i enjoy. Its a pretty ambient looking place and service is pretty quick

Yelp
Walking around this part of Jersey City near Communipaw always reminds me of my favorite film, Ghost Dog, which was filmed nearby. Instead of a Francophone ice cream truck driver, in real life this neighborhood hosts Baonanas, a banana pudding shop which serves a wide variety of flavors in the fashion of an ice cream parlor. I appreciate that Baonanas is rooted in the surrounding long-standing Filipino community of McGinley Square. The two natural orders on a first visit were of course the classic and the ube, both of which were delicious. The ube flavor was subtle and not overpowering at all. And obviously, it's better than Magnolia's.
google avatar

Michelle Y.

Yelp
I've always wanted to try this spot. I happened to be around the neighborhood and ordered the Ube flavored banana pudding. It was light and not too sweet. It was really good. I will come back and try their other flavors.
google avatar

Christopher Y.

Yelp
had this spot at smorgasburg in williamburg and the ubenana definitely did not disappoint! Very light & creamy with a subtle banana taste. It was $7.50 for a single scoop which wasn't too bad for what it was! Would definitely come back and get the double scoop next time lol
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
A bread pudding dessert place so interesting! Loved this place, tried the OG with vanilla wafers. Definitely creamy and delicious yet not too sweet of a treat. I wanted to try the drinks and food. Service was exceptional, the server offered to open the back patio up and turn on the lights for us too. Super cute little shop you should check out soon, wish I had one in Arizona.
google avatar

Kimberlie C.

Yelp
Serendipitously parked in front, and we're so glad we did! Banana pudding meets asian flavors. Bright space with plenty of seating to get work done or play w one of their fun board games. Great service, too. Will try their drinks next time -- Ordered: Buko Pandan and Ube banana pudding
google avatar

Chastity R.

Yelp
U-Bae I'm in love! For AT LEAST 8 years, the ONLY BananaPudding that had my heart has been Magnolia Bakery. I've even tried ONE that came close but I was just gaslit by their use of Pepperidge Farm Chess Cookies. But today, [[write it down in your calendar]] I've found THE ONE to surpass them all. Baonanas is IT!! Light, smooth, chunky, and oh, so good! Not too sweet but all the flavor was there. Also had an Ube Cloud Latte which my fussy Mom LOVED. They customed the drink to how she wanted it and she still can't stop talking about how good it is. The staff was incredibly patient with us and so personable. The place is cute. A light in an up & coming neighborhood. So much to choose from. So many unique flavors. I WILL be back!
google avatar

Mona E.

Yelp
Incredible banana pudding! I really recommend coming here and trying their flavors. My personal favorites were cookies and cream and the rose lychee. The banana pudding is decadent and very creamy. The rose lychee is a must try if you're a lychee martini lover like me. The employees are all super nice and the overall cafe is cute too. It has a little game board section and is a good place to hang out or catch up with a friend. They also have coffee.
google avatar

Rebekah P.

Yelp
Ordered this on DoorDash and got it delivered. It came much quicker than expected and was DELICIOUS! Will be ordering again. We got the strawberry banana pudding with added fresh strawberries - 10/10 the whipped cream in the banana pudding is super light and overall is not too heavy. A perfect treat!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a cute place to sit and read a book and have something sweet to eat. Honestly, if two people were to go on a dessert date I'd say this is a nice place to start to get to know one another over some banana pudding. It's clean! It is clean and cozy. Maybe there are about 4/5 tables there where people can sit. It's small but not dumb tiny. The two people behind the register were soo kind and generous. I got some fresh OG banana pudding of which they had a sign telling you it's fresh and they recommend waiting 24 hours for the cookies to soften. Lucky for me that I don't like soft or mushy cookies so I was right on time! The pudding is a nice whipped pudding. Not thick whipped though. And not runny. But whipped. It was good! I'm gona go here again. I also got the rose strawberry pudding I think it's called, and that was a flavor I never had before. I'll get this in a bigger size next time I go back. I thoroughly enjoyed this here. Highly recommend.

Yelp
My eyes and heart opened when I tasted a flavor different from the original banana Nila wafer banana pudding that I've been exposed to when I had baonanas ! We got a couple pints which can be split into 2 flavors! The Ube pudding is most definitely is my fav flavor yet! We did try matcha Oreo and cookie butter( very slightly different from the original) there was one man serving who was filling a large order for a lady who was there before us, he took a bit of time but it was definitely worth the wait! I also did get the calamansi lemonade that was refreshing ! I wish this was available in north Carolina too I terribly miss the flavor in my mouth!
google avatar

Chaunna H.

Yelp
I would give it a 3.5, but that's not an option. It was good pudding, not great. I wouldn't go out of my way to get it, but if I'm in the neighborhood and looking for some, I'd probably grab a small half-pint.
google avatar

Aya E.

Yelp
Ordered: Create Your Own Half Pint (~$9): Matcha Oreo & Ubenanas Create Your Own Half Pint (~$9): Blueberry Cheesecake & Lychee Rose Aya's take: If you know me, you know I love banana-flavored desserts and was happy to be back at Baonanas for more! It was my birthday month and I love that you can get a free pint of baonanas if you're a rewards member! Let's get right to the pudding! The Ubenanas & Matcha Oreo is a divine combination! The Matcha Oreo one is fluffy with soft Oreo cookies and a matcha mousse, combined with the lightly sweet ube with layers of fresh banana - it's an unbeatable combination. The Blueberry Cheesecake & Lychee Rose was good but a bit fruitier and I found some of the flavors to clash. The Blueberry Cheesecake had a blueberry mousse with blueberry jam, graham crackers, and fresh blueberries and bananas; there was quite a bit of graham cracker filling which took away from the other flavors. The Lychee Rose was super unique and I actually enjoyed the essence of lychee & rose in the mousse along with the fresh strawberries. I would love this in a drink form lol. The worker helping us was incredibly sweet and friendly. Definitely worth stopping by!

Yelp
Literally the best pudding ive ever had from a restaurant! Wow!!! So light and sweet without being too sweet!! I had the Original!! Perfect amount of cookies and bananas!!! I just may stop by Friday! Lol The owners are so nice! Born and raised JC natives!! Please stop by and give this local business some love!! U wont be disappointed
google avatar

Sofia L.

Yelp
absolutely my favorite dessert place. their pudding is always so incredibly flavorful and easily melts in your mouth! it always has a good ratio of banana and cake, and is never too sweet. they also provide a select few complimentary toppings, which most dessert places don't offer! staff is also always so eager to provide samples and recommendations, so I never feel like a bother when I can't decide on what to get. I had the french toast and smores flavors, and they paired so well together! the French toast had a strong cinnamon flavor, which I absolutely loved. the s'mores was very decadent. this location is unfortunately a 20 min walk from the PATH, so Im not likely to come back anytime soon as I live in new york. however, the space is so cute, with boardgames and a backyard patio. I wish they reopened the new york location, but this was worth the journey!
google avatar

Jenni A.

Yelp
amazingggggg dessert shop. Super unique idea and concept, the space is warm and inviting. They have games and great customer service and their food and drink options are abundant. Love coming here often and they have such fun events!
google avatar

Nissa M.

Yelp
I tasted this banana pudding today and couldn't believe how delicious it was. It was even better than Magnolia's which I didn't think was possible. I tried three flavors today- the classic which was my favorite, the coquito flavor which was delicious and even had flakes of coconut in it and finally the cookies and cream which was also divine. I'm ashamed to say how many servings I had because I totally went back for a second round. This recipe is delicious! Great job to the owners!
google avatar

Yelp
Funny I'm leaving this as the 100th review lol. Anyways, this place is great. I booked an Airbnb nearby and this was the one spot I went to for a majority of my stay. I had the honey bear and I believe the butter something? And this was amazing, I'm not sure I've ever had any kind of banana pudding that was the same, but this was a cross between ice cream and pudding. The service was great, and I believe they had a sign saying it was for college, so it was great to know that I was supporting a local business. Would definitely stop by if I were ever in Jersey City again!
google avatar

Michelle O.

Yelp
Love Baonanas! This place is a JC icon. They serve a selection of mainstays and also rotating and seasonal flavors. I love the variety. One of my favorite seasonal flavors is their cornbread pudding (sweet & salty!) and the apple cider. For their mainstay flavor, the strawberry banana pudding is my go-to. Other great flavors are the OG and ubenanas. I think their buko pandan has gotten even better when I last tried it, the pandan flavor really comes through now and it's now another one of my faves. I take friends from out of town here and have also brought their patty trays to potlucks. When in store, you get to try as many samples as you like before choosing your flavor and the staff members are always so friendly and accommodating. I appreciate that!
google avatar

Bob K.

Yelp
My favorite banana pudding/dessert place in NJ since they only had a cart in Williamsburg haha

Jc C.

Yelp
STAY AWAY!! WORKERS ARE RUDE!! I ordered Baonanas on 5/23/2025 on UberEats using their Buy 1 Get 1 free promo. When we received the order, there was only 1 pint in the bag rather than the 2 we expected as per the promo. Right after this, I called Baonanas at 6:34PM to inform them that they only packed one. The lady who answered the phone blamed us rather than taking accountability that they only packed one. Her service was HORRENDOUS. She yelled at me and hung up the phone using the excuse that she had other people to attend to. What about the customers (us) that purchased from you?? Who treats their customers like that?? I would be ASHAMED and EMBARRASSED if I found out one of my employees gave such HORRIBLE SERVICE. I've never received such bad treatment at any establishment. What is the point of advertising a BOGO offer and not provide the full order? Seems like a scam to me!!
google avatar

Chanel L.

Yelp
Neat concept. I'm not the biggest banana pudding fan but this was pretty great. I'd definitely go back. I'm pretty sure we got the smallest serving and it hit the spot. Very filling! If you're on the fence, give it a shot

Bing B.

Yelp
Cool and funny server, drink and food were delectable, and the playlist was establishment was comfy

J. A.

Yelp
The choices were very mid-very runny consistency of puddings and overly sweet-thought i was getting old version banana pudding but was wrong -
google avatar

Tifany P.

Yelp
A banana pudding dessert shop is such a good idea! The texture and flavors were so on point, and the banana bear design is so cute! We almost didn't get to try this place, but I'm so glad things worked out! I would come by often if I lived in this area.
google avatar

Latoya L.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday afternoon. I was in the area and decided to finally try this out since I live 50 min away. Street parking is very hard to find here. I entered the establishment and it was nice and clean. The worker was very friendly and made me try as many flavors as I wanted. I got the ube, regular, and Oreo banana pudding. All were great and I highly recommend.
google avatar

Richard O.

Yelp
One of the best dessert spots in JC! The owner was amazing to talk to, you can tell the commitment and passion they have for the brand and each of the flavors they created. They focused mainly on dessert offerings for those that can't have dairy so they took the plunge into the dessert world and I am glad they did cause they have some of the best flavors like OG (banana pudding), ube Oreo, cookies n cream, green tea and so many more! The setup is similar to an ice cream shop, very modern interior with a few seating spaces, parking is limited to local parking at the time you visit.
google avatar

Jeff O.

Yelp
Baonanas is always a great place to stop by. The drinks and OG pudding are amazing! I can't wait till it gets warmer so that they open the Baoyard [their backyard] so we can relax out there while we enjoy their food.
google avatar

Kristen G.

Yelp
Ordered their coquito banana pudding, just the puff baomb, and a puff baomb with strawberry baonanas for delivery. Delivery arrived on time. It was all chilled. We had the puff first. It is lightly sweet and fluffy. We like that it's not heavy. It's $3. Wouldn't get it by itself again though after tasting it with the baonanas! Yummmm The coquito banana pudding is delicious!! We got the half pint. Like a coquito with bananas! Perfectly made. Excellent flavor. Just the right amount of cinnamon. Worth the $8.95! Soo good! Definitely recommend. The puff baomb with strawberry baonanas was our favorite of the three. It's $7 and sooo delicious. It's the puff with their fresh strawberries and banana pudding. Wow! Amazing!! Highly recommend. Will definitely order that again!! :) so good!
google avatar

Nicole C.

Yelp
My friend took me to this small business, and I found it very cute! Before getting the ube flavored banana pudding, I tried the buko pandan. Tbh, the coconut flavor and banana flavor didn't really sit well with me. Personally, I went with the classic and got the ube. The ube flavor was very apparent and tasted more like regular banana pudding. I think the ube "flavor" was more just to color the pudding. I also tried the melon juice and that also was kinda lackluster in taste. I felt like it was very watered down with strips of cantaloupe. Either than that, I enjoyed this business for the OG ube banana pudding and would probably stick with that if i we're to come back!
google avatar

Linh N.

Yelp
If you like banana pudding.. this is the place to be! It's banana pudding with a twist. You can try different flavors before deciding on what to order. I like the pandan and ube. They have various toppings too- I had the Nila crackers. To finish it off, we ordered the calamansi soda- it was made in house! We were the only customers there so it was quiet and the service was fast. Its a small and cutely decorated place, perfect spot to casually catch up with friends.
google avatar

Taj T.

Yelp
I did have too much fun watching a group of people try to order ice cream, not realizing it was all banana pudding. I think they'd agree with me though that now we've made the jump to pudding, it might be hard to go back. This is simply the best banana pudding you'll ever eat. It strikes the perfect balance of fluffiness, sweetness, creaminess, and banana flavor. With the addition of toppings, you can throw some variety in texture too. I love all the creative flavor options, but obviously had to go with the OG on my first visit. I was a little disappointed that a double scoop was so small...but let's be real, it's for the best. I did notice however that it's possible to rent their beautiful backyard garden for private parties, which comes with unlimited scoops. Yes, the few hundred bucks would be worth it. The Ube and Cheddar Slider was phenomenal! Gooey, warm, and with perfectly toasted buns, this is a heartwarming snack that might be my favorite menu item.
google avatar

Joyce K.

Yelp
Got the original banana pudding, spiced pumpkin cheesecake, and spiced apple cider. As a lover of anything apple, the spiced apple cider was my favorite! It was so creamy and reminiscent of an apple cider drink. Perfect for the fall season :) The original is a classic and you can never go wrong with it. Spiced pumpkin cheesecake was also good but a bit underwhelming when compared to the other two (But that's just my opinion! my sister would disagree). The worker was also so friendly and sweet. Felt a little bad because he seemed to be the only one working in the front and a line was growing behind me. Wonderful experience though! Would definitely come back to try all the other flavors
google avatar

Diondra B.

Yelp
I truly love this place. They upgrade the classic banana pudding bt having fun flavors. The OG is good too but always enjoy getting the fun new flavors. This time we tried the Apple cider, Matcha oreo and fluffernutter. Oh my as usual everything was so delicious. They have super friendly service to. Mckenna (apologies if I mis-spell her name) was super attentive, friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Eugene Y.

Yelp
Never actually went here but have had friends bring baonanas to potlucks. It's absolutely fireeee. All of their flavors are delicious. I love the banana flavor the most.
google avatar

Peyton F.

Yelp
So delicious! I tried the cookies n cream, the OG, and the cookie butter. Cookie butter was my favorite. I went twice while I was staying in NJ, the second time we went in the afternoon on a weekend and they were already out of almost everything. I'd keep that in mind if planning to go!
google avatar

Tamira G.

Yelp
I had a random urge for banana pudding and fell upon this spot. We ordered the OG and the Ube flavor (on seamless). The OG is pretty solid with a good ratio of banana to wafer. I really enjoyed it. The Ube flavor was good but I took a star off because there were barely any wafer or banana chunks in the one I got. I'll definitely be interested in trying their other flavors
google avatar

Brian M.

Yelp
Came here two times in four days--it was that good. The hot tsoko with housemade ube marshmallow is literally the stuff of dreams. Ordered it both times and I'm still not over it. The service is also extremely friendly and allowed us to taste several different options. The Chocolatey Champorado, Matchananas, Black Sesame, OG, Thai Tea, and Cookiebutter-Cranberry-Cheesecake were all amazing, I don't think they actually make anything bad. Bonus points because they have vegan options and certain flavors without banana, if that's not your thing.

Yelp
What a delightful addition to the neighborhood. I have been driving up and down Monticello ave on a daily basis and I now have a reason to stop and park. All covid precautions are followed with mask requirements, social distancing requests, employee adherence and sanitizing solutions provided. They have a very limited indoor seating section and 2 outdoor tables available. I don't really recommend the outdoor dining due to pan handlers. The big hanging yellow painted sign still has the outline that says Breyers so it is not an obvious #baonanas store front. The windows do say #Baonanas. Parking is fairly easy. Bea the #Baonanas front of house employee is very welcoming and informative. She offers a sample tasting if you have difficulty deciding on one of the many selections. I have been there 3 times and they have offered new flavors each time in addition to their regular flavors. If you see something new and you like it, get it. I tried the Thai Tea my first visit and figured I would get a pint next visit and they have not offered it since that first visit. So far, if I had to choose, my favorites are OG and Buko Pandan. They offer several sizes from a cone size to a party platter size! They sell merchandise like tote bags and the cutest pins with the logo of a bear on a banana. They only received a 4 star rating because they do not have a nutritional value list, calorie count or an ingredient list. From what I understand, they will have one soon but shouldn't they have had one before opening? I will definitely return for a treat and try other flavors.
google avatar

Brendalynne F.

Yelp
As long as you come here knowing it's deliciously flavored banana pudding and NOT ice cream, you'll love it. I love that the recipe includes leche flan to make the fluffy mousse flavorful and unique! My boyfriend and I tried the Peach-Mango Cobbler and Buko Pandan flavored banana puddings, and they were both yummy and light desserts that'll leave your sweets craving satisfied without the bloat or guilt!
google avatar

Mariam K.

Yelp
Decided to stop by the storefront today! Was so excited because I know they've done a lot of on site events over the past few years so I'm happy they've got their own place. I've tried the Cookies and Cream flavor before but today I got the French Toast (with w/ bananas) pint and the Thai Tea (without bananas) pint. I love both flavors but the Thai Tea BLEW me away. They managed to capture the taste so perfectly and the texture was to die for. It was sweet but nothing too crazy. The French Toast one was subtle and also really really good, my mom did think it was sweet though. So if you don't like anything too too sweet, I'd get French Toast instead of Thai Tea. Also, the staff member that was serving was so nice and they do offer samples of their flavors & are super clean in the store. I cannot wait to come back and try more of the flavors!
google avatar

Nicole C.

Yelp
Love this place! Only taking a star off because the portion sizes are pretty small compared to the price, but once the sting of the price is gone, it tastes soooo good! Lots of fun flavors to try, but the classic or Oreo is probably my favorite.! The pudding feels like whipped cream, it's so light. Really cute, bright interior and outdoor seating is a nice addition to the neighborhood!
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
Perfect refreshing and light treat after a feast of other food at smorgasburg. Ordered a large ($7) which had 2 scoops. We got the OG #Baonanas & Honey Cornbread. The cornbread flavor was a bit disappointing but the OG was delicious! Would like to try the other flavors now, especially the cream n cookies (unfortunately the person in front of us got the last scoop.. still sad about it haha) guess lll have to return

Yelp
I have been by a few times over the past couple of years and their Baonana's has been consistently tasty (I know it isn't pudding, but I much prefer their Baonana's over something like Magnolia Bakery's banana pudding). They are always extremely friendly regardless of how busy it is inside.
